What’s your favorite character dynamic to write? (Can be romantic or platonic, specific or general!)

opposites, but not necessarily opposites attract. i quite like putting together characters who are on opposite ends of a spectrum and wondering how them rubbing off each other might bring them closer to the middle, where they learn to see eye to eye.

in a sense, it has the feeling of “i learned something from you, and you something from me.” i like it when characters have to overcome hurdles to understand the other party, and through the foundation of newfound understanding, start to deepen their bonds. i’m not sure what label to call such a bond. it can be platonic, romantic, etc… i just see it as 2 people who deeply care for each other.

it also opens doors to possible dynamics like “more alike than they think” or the ever iconic “enemies to lovers”.

#andromeda nova writing #i wouldn’t say all my fics work this way‚ but i quite like putting characters together with readers that are different #then there can be tension. then there can be something i can write about #but tbh idk??? i was talking abt dynamics to my friend the other day (so this qn is so timely) and i told my friend that #i am writing reader inserts to explore dynamics #like. if i were to make an oc and ship it with a character it only explores 1 dynamic altho it does do it in-depth #and as cool as that it i don’t really want to commit 1 character to 1 dynamic #& it’s a bit weird to have multiple ocs to ship with one character right 😭👎 like. it just feels a little tiresome to me AHAHAH #but ri is like… instant noodles. open‚ cook it‚ and enjoy #then dispose and get another flavour without worry u overcooked HAHAHHHA #.g
