Idea I've had for a while: Douglas essentially using Marcus as a service dog
#more schizospec douglas propaganda lets gooooo#but real talk. i have a lot of thoughts on Douglas & Marcus' relationship and why he made marcus#partly it was for sentimental reasons. he was lonely. he missed his kids and he never got to see them grow up so he made an android around#their age w a mix of their characteristics#but it was also partly practical. douglas hates shopping (it's dangerous to show his face in public) he hates cleaning he needs help w a lot#of projects & he doesnt fully trust krane#SPEAKING OF. i also think he made Marcus for protection against krane + to capture ab&c#and adding a mentally disabled Douglas to this just adds an extra layer i really enjoy#marcus was such an emotional crutch to douglas & i really think that (+ the fact that marcus is likely only a few years old)#is why hes so dependent#codependent father-son duo...#to be clear im not saying marcus was a GREAT caretaker but a) hes a kid so duh & b) i dont think douglas really wanted him to be?#douglas wouldnt want to feel like he needs to be looked after. he made Marcus so he could feel responsible for a living thing w/o ACTUALLY#being responsible for a living thing#anyways.#lab rats#lab rats disney xd#marcus davenport#lref#mighty med#lab rats elite force#douglas davenport#lrefmm
