My parents: Happy 21st birthday!
Me: That's great and all, but this is the 2 year anniversary of when I got Posy, whom I love and adore.
#personal junk#posy python#technically yesterday was the anniversary#but posy was a birthday present that i ended up getting a day early because of a sale on terrariums#shes probably around three years old now#maybe a little younger#pallas is a little younger than her but not by much#he was pretty big when i got him#i looked at him and decided the lizard that looked like a moldy orange had to be my new son#i just really love posy#shes the best thing that could have happened to me#i honestly dont know what i would have done without her#which is silly to say but its true#i got her when i was very sad and very sick#and i raised her well enough that shes completely docile and crawls to my hand to come out#i look at her and i see the physical representation of my personal progress#weve both changed a lot since we came into each others lives#dont get me wrong i love my horrible lizard son#but posy holds a place in my heart that most people can never get near#shes been with me through the worst of times#she hasnt put up with a lot but thats part of what pushed me to do better#i used to take her outside to read with me for short periods#and i still love to just sit and watch her walk around#shes much lazier these days but thats nice too#like i raised and handled her so well that she tolerates pretty much anything#i can dress her up for those dumb photos i take#and she trusts me#that means a lot#the other animals are great but this tiny little gecko has made such an impact on my life#even in the worst of my depression she still made me smile when i saw her
