Padme is a character who has been through very deep trauma and dehumanization, which is something that only Anakin truly understands from his life as a slave. He is the only one who sees her. Anakin would destroy the world for her, and after she has spent her whole life giving to her country, that is the sexiest trait someone could possibly have. Loving Anakin was the first thing Padme did for herself.
