so my family usually visits my aunt’s for thanksgiving. but we also like having our own thanksgiving dinner. so usually we buy an extra turkey and the weekend following thanksgiving we have a second thanksgiving dinner.

that’s what we’re doing today. so i’m over here sipping on eggnog (that i made), chopping onions for the stuffing, listening to christmas music, etc. the whole family is participating.

life is just so good, man.

#it's crazy tbh #if you had told 18 year old me that i would love spending time with my family so much #i would have scoffed at you #i used to hate my family and we had so many issues #but over the years we've all kinda mellowed out and reconciled #and despite our differences we mostly get along now #tonight we're gonna be watching some home videos of when me and my siblings were kids #as i've gotten older i've just learned to appreciate family more #seeing my parents age and my siblings drift apart as we each lived our own lives #really put things into perspective #can't sweat the small stuff #actually you should love the small stuff #every moment is just so precious to me now #i don't want to take anything for granted #i need to make an offering to the gods #i am just so grateful for everything
