my all time favourite type of shounen protagonist is the deeply kind, but also an absolute freak, and i personally think that's such an underappreciated type of character
guy who chooses to be kind, above all else, but is also a fucking freak. like, completely unhinged. there is something wrong in their head, but you keep on forgetting because aaaw, they're so kind to everyone what a sweetheart. and it's not wrong! completely! but also SIKES, this is an unhinged little guy!! with mental problems!! the duality!!
#ze.txt#my favourite example is allen walker because i don't think anyone can top his unhinged ass#but other examples also include tanjiro (<- MY UNDERAPPRECIATED FREAK BOY!!) and i feel like atsushi for sure fits#even if he's not that high up on the ranking (<- is real behind on bsd)#yuuji is definitely also on there... though i think he's not that high on the kindness list (because of the horrors)#anyway it's just. my favourite type of protag. i need more of them so badly
