I wonder what percentage of players end up with Fenris dead at the end of da2. I suspect it's quite large because I imagine most players side with the mages, and it's also somewhat tricky to get his friendship while also making pro-mage choices throughout the game. In order for Fenris to side with you you can't have any rivalry at all* so you have to be somewhat careful about when you bring him along, and I imagine many casual/first-time players don't manage it.
*Otherwise, you need 100% rivalry for him to side with the mages, and I know from experience (because this is what I always do) that this is VERY difficult to do without a guide because of the finite opportunities for friendship/rivalry gains, there comes a point in the game where you can't gain any more rivalry so if you haven't accrued enough rivalry by then rip fenris lol. Obviously you can just be a dickhead and make deals with slavers etc, but if you don't want to do that but still max rivalry, you have to be very strategic about it.
#for instance i always let him kill danzig because its cool haha.#but on a few playthroughs ive done it wrong and had to reload in order not to kill him š#i kind of wish they'd just leave the party like Sebastian instead of fighting you#i always rival Sebastian too (the dialogue with elthina is so good) but now i can't remember if i max it out or not#sadly never manage to max out carver rivalry š#but also i like the arc of them becoming friends and healing their relationship#ANYWAY. i feel like theyll never bring the da2 guys back and im sad about it#fenris and anders are likely to die. merrill can die#isabela is the one that seems most plausible but if hawke's fate isnt mentioned then... idk#dragon age#fenris

More DAO, Lunar 2 and Iām sick
Iāve been feeling out of it for a few days. Sneezing, chest congestion, coughing up nasty stuff, stuffed up nose and just being tired all the time.Ā
BUT!Ā
Wednesday I was able to squeeze in some DAO. Not quite as much as I would like since I was busy with chores and resting...mostly. Also parenting.
So yea, I make it to the Great Hall and I immediately go attack the mage. I always try and kill the magic users first. Sadly the mage took me out and did it very quickly I might add.
She took me by surprise like.
(How do I make gifs? I want to make some for my tastes.)
I canāt have my noble rogue dying on me and NOT get xp so I reloaded the save and wiped her out. After clearing the room, Ser Gilmore checks on our party before going off to be my hero I really wish this guy could have survived in canon.
After fighting and looting all of the rooms, I find dear old daddykins raiding the pantry and trailing blood.Ā
Then this guy comes in covered in Halloween blood.Ā
Wait. Whoops. Wrong game. I meant this guy.
There we go.
So this dude tells my parents that in order to save me, I must become a sacrificial lam- I mean a Grey Warden to help with the blight. After leaving my parents to die, off we go to the south where we meet the king.
Who is basically a rich and powerful fanboy. He isnāt so bad though. Even when I selectedĀ āWhat do you know of my grief?ā To respond, Duncan was trying to apologize for my anger but Cailanās all likeĀ āItās cool. I get it.ā
Then he leaves and I learn of the Joining Ritual. After that, I go get the stuff lying around before I cross the bridge to find Alistair. In all of my playthroughs, I always picked him up last but this time I did the opposite and got him first since I want him to get XP when I unlock chests. Now I heard if you have a really high cunning and coercion, you an persuade Alistair to tell you a little bit about the joining. He says to ask him after talking to Duncan but that convo option only appears once and if you select it, itās gone.Ā
Soooooo...thank goodness I saved RIGHT after getting him so I can ask him again later. :p
NOW THENĀ
Yesterday I couldnāt get to DAO because I was busy and sick. Instead, I decided to play an old classic favorite of mine. I was playing this before I stumbled into the world of Dragon Age last year.
This was one of the first JRPGās I played in my teens and I adore it. Though I never played the epilogue part. So I have a goal in mind when I play this and that is to level grind to lvl50 before this pretty lady joins my party.
(ok srsly, I wanna make my own gifs now but I donāt know how)
Itās going to be a very long and slooooooooooooooow level grind. Now why lvl50? Because I get this super sweet move called Triple Sword. Itās Hiroās strongest sword attack and it will wipe the floor with a lot of bosses. I also want to see what happens when I take out the temple guardians at the entrance of the Blue Spire when they wake up. This endeavor will take a few weeks. Maybe months but after that, I think the game will go reeeeeeeeaaaaaaaalllly fast. I like being over leveled in games. Unless the enemies level with you. Then it kinda sucks but challening.
--------
Omg I lost count one how many times I had to retype this whole blob entry because of being sick and bad connections. Iām just glad itās done. Phew!
