#every single tag on the post is like this#‘oh I can’t believe the gay ass country hasn’t legalised yet’#as if a) Ancient Greece didn’t practise pederasty influenced by a hatred of women#and b) modern Greece isn’t extraordinarily homophobic and religious#like the way people talk about the tags they genuinely believe we still believe in Greek gods#at this point I have to wonder how many people know orthodox Christianity is overwhelmingly the main religion#and furthermore calling Greeks q*eer where any actual translations of the word is unequivocally a swear#but ofc the one using another slur is almost certainly a straight girl so what’s the fucking point#trying to celebrate lgb greeks being given the right to marry and a pathway to actual equal rights#being completely overshadowed by a heartless western perception that ignores the real suffering of Greeks#in favour of romanticised view of ancient Greeks#posts that repeak me#radly
