I know everyone is thinking they are this great love story and have always loved each other etc from the album, but is it possible that we're getting this idea not because it's true but because Taylor at the time thought so? Like as if she's writing believing he's indeed the love that came back to her and you know we were always meant to be babe. My relationship was falling apart, you showed up in the right moment to save me, you are now ready for a commitement and it was all the universe's plan all along

And by the way I think she's probably thinking this again with Travis cause that's Taylor. I was so devastated, just looking for fun and you showed up must be faith and destiny acting up

I LOVE THIS TAKE. I absolutely think it’s genius. If Taylor was planning to spend the rest of her life with him (and she was) she was obviously planning to rededicate her positive discography to him so her consciously reusing old lyrics might’ve actually been a conscious choice but as a statement of commitment to him - everything is now about you, I love you, you know who you are 💀 - rather than reality. Goes back to how they’re poets and everything is their words and shit. Could also well have been a convo they had even because he went apeshit for Lover at the shows he went to and obvi he posted Hey Stephen as a response to Question.
