okay first of all im not convinced that rudy didn't buy tickets only bcuz louise annoyed him about it and he vaguely recognized the bands name from one of his dads old records FJDMDNSMSMSJ
why doesn't tina get to go to the old man concert w/ gene louise and their friends 😭
love how both concerts that tina mentioned going to were boyz 4 now concerts and that BOTH of them were actual episodes in the show. this is why catching up on bob's burgers lore is so important. these are the things you'd miss!!!!
NOOO NOT THE KING BREAKING HIS PAW this is a code red emergency
EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT QUINCE BURGER BANGER NAME‼️‼️ have the bobs burgers writers seen the hawk and chick bb/eeaao comparison gifsets. do they even know that they made me cry. i want you to know how much i love and support you even if you stop fighting monsters with me someday and do taxes instead. okay sorry i got distracted
rudy!!!!
Tumblr media
okay MAYBE i missed them saying that the concert had paid entrance or something but this is a block party?? could they not just go downstairs and watch the band outside. like it might not be premium seats but at least they'd be going to their first concert ?
most normal louise and rudy interaction
Tumblr media Tumblr media
LINDA IS GONNA GET LITTLE KING TRASHMOUTH EUTHANIZED GOOD GOD 😭😭😭😭💔💔
why is tina being the voice of reason here LMAO like at least google how to capture an injured raccoon or something
OH ITS NOT THAT HARD. GOOD WHEELS ON THIS THING obsessed w/ teddy in this subplot(??) i missed him
i feel like this episode has the same problem as the st patrick's day episode where despite the episode's title and description trying to make the subplot the main focus of the episode its also Clearly the subplot to a more important storyline. which is fine bcuz they're both entertaining in this episode but its gonna be confusing as hell in the future trying to find this episode 😭
"maybe it would be easier to watch the concert from the street" IM SAYING LIKE?? literally what was louise's plan here. im obsessed with her
girl. all this for like six pieces of candy
THIS HAS NO REASON TO BE SO STRESSFUL im shaking im so worried about little king trashmouth... if anything bad happens to him im killing everyone in this room and then myself. that would literally be bury your gays. to me
not bob having another burger related existential crisis ☹️☹️
bob has failed to realize he could cook literally ANY other food if he really wanted to. but i will admit he likes cooking the burgers. and tbh?? what he described sounded like an autistic dream so maybe he simply does not understand the vision like me and u bob. maybe he just doesn't get it
"is that magic marker?" "what makes you say that??" "my.... eyes?"
actually where the HELL did they get those shirts they're too big to be louise's but wayy too small to gene's this is the actual mystery in the episode. possibly maybe tina's old shirts or something??
today we learned that linda buys her wine from the liquor store on their block which was Probably obvious but cool to see it confirmed
OH HELL NOO BOB IS GETTIN OLDER
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
also kinda funny to say this when big bob is Literally in next weeks episode and seems happy enough running his diner.... like bob have you considered maybe you LIKE cooking for people and thats okay?? your dad does too. some people are happy to do one thing forever and thats not like a Problem unless you're unhappy
awww they're such cuties dancing together
ROMANTIC RACCOON REUNION 💕💕🏳️‍🌈
"Well there are moments, you know... when the band locks in, the crowd is with them and everything they ever loved about playing music comes flooding back in a rush of pure heavenly emotion. All that crap."
"But... all these decades later, they still have them? The moments?"
"You tell me."
😭😭 WHY DID THIS PART OF THE EPISODE MAKE ME WANNA CRY I HAVE TO GET A VIDEO OF IT OR SOMETHING. WHAT THE HELL too real for creative people..... omg. this season has a lot of moments like that about the creative process like gene's song etc
YOUNG BOB‼️‼️ OHH HES SUCH A GENTLEMAN bob my beloved
Tumblr media
THIS EPISODE WAS VERY CUTE?? very silly subplot w/ linda and the raccoons and then louise and gene and their friends. bob's little crisis in the middle there got to me harder than anticipated (i think they could have easily made that into its own episode but considering they've done similar concepts in the past i dont hate that they didn't flesh that out as much as they could have. we already KINDA know where bob is coming from here) and the ending clip with bob singing was soo silly im gonna need to post that too. fun episode!

Article: What Makes It So Difficult to Diversify Ballet Faculties?
Date: February 17, 2021
By: Theresa Ruth Howard
The lack of Black ballet teachers in professional training programs has long been known to be a weakness holding the field back from true inclusivity. The common refrain of "We can't find them" might have been plausible before, given the scarcity of professional Black ballet dancers. Yet suddenly, qualified candidates are springing up. (Perhaps the world being on fire smoked them out?) To quote choreographer William Isaac, "There seems to be an arms race to hire Black ballet teachers."
Last fall, the schools of Boston Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet and San Francisco Ballet, as well as the School of American Ballet, all welcomed new, full-time Black ballet teachers. To be fair, some of these hires had been in the works for a few years. But what's kept ballet faculties so white for so long?
With a culture akin to country clubs and Ivy League schools, ballet acts like an old boys' network; it's about who you know, and to know the right people, you have to occupy certain spaces. It is cyclic: Access and opportunity creates access and opportunity. That has historically kept the circle quite tight, and white. The common requirement of a certain pedigree and artistic lineage among faculty members has perpetuated a deficit of Black ballet teachers. These additions to the top ballet training programs are a step in the right direction.
School of American Ballet: Aesha Ash
Over a shared history of more than seven decades, New York City Ballet and SAB have maintained the purity of their bloodline with the company hiring almost exclusively from its school, and the school from NYCB alums. That makes diversification of the SAB faculty difficult, since the company has welcomed a total of 32 Black dancers, including 13 current members. Aesha Ash, who joins fellow Black NYCB alum Craig Hall on faculty this year, fits the criteria: "She's a spectacular teacher, she's an SAB alum, a City Ballet alum and understands Mr. Balanchine's aesthetic," says SAB chairman of faculty Kay Mazzo.
For Ash, this is an opportunity to be something she needed when she was a student at the school. "I think about the loneliness and isolation I felt," she says. "If my presence makes one little girl feel validated, my job is done."
There now seems to be a realization that hiring solely from NYCB's ranks inhibits the possibility of true diversification. "We have two visiting faculty chairs this year, Leyland Simmons and Alicia Holloway, both SAB alums, but they didn't dance in City Ballet, so this is a first," says Mazzo. The school also plans to engage participants from SAB's National Visiting Fellows Program, which invites ballet teachers with diverse student populations to teach and observe classes, discuss SAB's curriculum, and engage in dialogue around pedagogy techniques, school management and other topics twice a year. Since 2015 the program has accepted numerous Black teachers. "With our national visiting fellows as guest teachers in the future, we will be opening doors," says Mazzo. "It's no longer the model that Mr. Balanchine and Lincoln Kirstein started."
Boston Ballet School: Andrea Long-Naidu
Boston Ballet School's hiring of Andrea Long-Naidu has a similar thread of lineage. Director Margaret Tracey is a former NYCB principal, and danced there alongside Long-Naidu. "Andrea was a really intelligent dancer in her technical approach. She was incredibly musical and really fast, could learn choreography really quickly," Tracey recalls. She could see those elements in some of Long-Naidu's students who had been accepted into BBS.
Long-Naidu is highly pedigreed: A one-time student of Lupe Serrano (the former American Ballet Theatre star who directed Pennsylvania Ballet's school), she studied at SAB, and is an NYCB alum and former Dance Theatre of Harlem principal. Tracey told her, "Look, you are going to fit in professionally with your expertise automatically. You're going to come into a circle, and a team of people who have a shared background with you."
For Long-Naidu, who comes to BBS from Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, this is a dream. She will be teaching a wide range of levels, from children to the second company. "To be in a school where you know that you can directly affect the look of that company is amazing," she says. "For me, as a teacher, to get them from point A to point Z when they go into the company...what an incredible opportunity."
Pacific Northwest Ballet School: Ikolo Griffin
After Kiyon Ross became director of company operations at Pacific Northwest Ballet in 2019, it left a void in the school faculty. He'd been a beloved Black male teacher in the men's division and professional program, so when looking to replace him, there were conversations about the importance of both gender and racial representation. Then Ikolo Griffin's resumé landed on artistic director Peter Boal's desk. Denise Bolstad, PNB School's managing director, was familiar with him—he was a former PNB summer intensive student—and had followed his career: Originally introduced to dance through San Francisco Ballet's Dance in Schools and Communities program, he became SFB's first outreach student to join that company, and he also danced professionally with DTH (as a principal) and The Joffrey Ballet.
"You knew he would teach in a way that would be complementary to what PNB was looking for in a faculty member," Boal says. But, he adds, "You can always question whether or not you should be looking for someone who teaches like you or whether you should expand the way that you're teaching, and that is something that we are thinking about now."
San Francisco Ballet School: Jason Ambrose
When San Francisco Ballet School faculty member Anne-Sophie Rodriguez and Edward Ellison recommended their former Ellison Ballet student Jason Ambrose to SFB school director Patrick Armand, he was struck by his CV. "It was a totally different ball game," says Armand.
Ambrose started late, at 17, in his native Virginia Beach under Cuban Ana Maria Martinez; two years later he was in Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre's graduate program. After attending the Bolshoi Ballet Academy New York summer intensive, he trained at Ellison Ballet for three years and began to choreograph competition solos for his classmates. Just as he was ready to transition to professional, a medical setback derailed him.
"I had a lot of opportunities waiting for me, and then I got really sick and had to go home and have an operation on my stomach related to my Crohn's disease," he says. In 2015, Oleg Vinogradov, director of the Ballet Theatre of St. Petersburg Conservatoire in Russia, saw Ambrose's choreography and invited him to study in the ballet masters and choreographers program, and dance with the program's company.
It was Ambrose's mastery of the Vaganova training that sold Armand. "He is really young to have that quality in his teaching," Armand says. "He has an innate talent; his classes are very sound. He studied Vaganova, so there is a real school behind the process. It is what we needed."
The Power of Representation
For too long, Black ballet teachers were siloed to outreach and community programs because "the kids needed to see themselves." When we talk about representation, most frequently we are referring to marginalized people seeing themselves; however, it is almost more important that white students, parents and patrons see and experience expertise from people of other colors. The truth of the matter is that, though systemic racism may stymie access and opportunity, most non-white people are already aware of their capability.
Building a strong and effective faculty is alchemy. Relying on pedigree takes some of the guesswork out of finding the right fit. However, if schools are looking for diverse representation sooner rather than later, they will have to step outside of their elitist comfort zone and acknowledge the implicit bias that believes only those who have had the prescribed trajectory are capable, and that ballet teachers should look, sound and instruct in a particular way. Schools will have to actively recruit and cultivate teachers with diverse backgrounds the same way they have with students. If we are going to shift the art form, ballet will have to abandon the traditional prescriptive, and embrace unorthodox. We cannot change and stay the same.
Theresa Ruth Howard, founder of MoBBallet, has worked as a consultant at Pacific Northwest Ballet, San Francisco Ballet and Boston Ballet. This piece is a companion to her essay "Tokenism vs. Representation: How Can We Tell Them Apart?"

hey! im so excited you're you're doing ships! i love your writing. first of all my pronouns are she/her, i'm 5'8" and ive got short brown hair, and i'm super pale. i'm very opinionated and i like to argue but at the same time i'm easily hurt, i tend to come off as rude mostly because i speak whatever is on my mind but i do my best to be kind to people unless i'm given a reason not to. also i love talking shit about people and yes i know thats horrible. and you can choose who ship me with, tysm!
hi!! i am also excitedi’m doing ships!! i hope i can do all y’all right with them.
also thank you so much!!
you got henry bowers!
Let’s get one thingstraight about this boy
Okay two things
First, he loves toargue
Second, he loves totalk shit
You’re a match made inheaven bb
“God, did you see what Gretta Bowie’s wearingtoday?” you asked as you arrived at the Trans Am for lunch.
The boys were already there, not waiting onyou to start eating, but waiting on you all the same.
Henry grunted, holdinga hand out for you. You took it and let him pull you up against his body, smiling into the kiss he pressed to your lips.
“Who fuckin’ cares?”he asked when the short kiss was over.
“I do,” you said. “She’strying so hard. Makes me wanna puke.”
“It’s heinous,” Vicagreed, lighting a cigarette, no-tobacco policy be damned.
“Thank you, Vic,” yousaid.
Then you starteddigging around in your bag for your lunch. You pulled it out and held it outfor Henry. He took it and opened the plain brown bag, pawing through.
He took everythingout, turning away from you to lay it all on the roof of the car.
Everything induplicate.
You’d learned shortlyafter becoming his girlfriend that he never brought anything for lunch, andthat just wouldn’t do, now would it? After a little poking and prodding, and atouch of sneaking around in his house, you found that there wasn’t much foodfor the eating, much less bringing to school. So you took it upon yourself tobring him lunch.
And now here you were.
He unwrapped thebigger of the two sandwiches, knowing it was for him without asking. It alwayswas — there was more meat there, for his practically carnivorous self.
You unwrapped your ownsandwich and started in, watching Henry. Noting the tension in his shoulders. Seeinghow high to his ears they were hitched.
After a bite, you setyour sandwich down and cuddled up to him. He huffed out a surprised breath, butlet you.
“You feeling sweet, baby?” he asked through a mouthful of sandwich.
“Maybe I want somelove,” you allowed.
“Gross,” said Patrick.
“Fuck off, Patrick,”you said, easy.
“Yeah, Patrick, fuckoff,” Henry joined in.
Patrick shot the bothof you a look that you could read as easily as a page in a children’s book. It saidyou were more trouble than you were worth. Thatgirl, it said, is taking my place. AndI don’t like it, not one bit.
You grinned at him. Youheld back blowing him a kiss, because even as sarcastic as it would be, Henry wouldn’tsee it as such.
And you liked yourselfin his good books.
“So,” he said. “Gotthat guy who hangs out behind the liquor store to buy us some booze. You in,baby?”
“Tonight?” you asked.
“Yeah.”
“Absolutely. I gottado something to forget Mr. Flanagan’ssweater vests.”
Vic laughed so hard atthat that he choked on the smoke he was inhaling. Coughing, he let Belch poundhim on the back. You laughed, watching him.
“Good, baby,” saidHenry, pulling you closer.
And then he kissed you, soft and sweet, tangling his hand up in your short hair. Patrick whistled — youknew it was him, even with your eyes closed. You just knew — and Belch chuckled.
“Now, eat,” you saidas you pulled away from the kiss.
“Yes, ma’am,” he snarked.
You grinned.

heya! hope you're doing well!! i hope it isnt a bother to ask, but i love your writing and was wondering if you had anything sterek in the works at the moment that we should all be looking forward too?
Hello! asks like this are never a bother! i love talking about my wips (maybe it’ll encourage me to finish one lol)
I have a ton of wips right now:
-hs au: This fic is going to be the next I post. It’s at 30k, and i think it’s moving towards being finished? 40-50k? (probably closer to 50k, i know myself :P) The idea came out of a road trip conversation my sister and I had about how werewolves and Packs were treated so poorly in the show. And I was talking about how Talia was like the Super Alpha or Lead Alpha over these other Packs, and wouldn’t it be cool if like the 5 Packs of the Pacific NW were like bffs and had this yearly summit or something where Talia, Satomi, Deucalion, Kali, and Ennis all got together, and their Packs were all friends, so like Derek grew up with all these other Packs and everyone got along and it was really tight.
So, in this fic, Hales are alive, Talia is the Lead Alpha, and Derek is close to his Pack (which contains Erica, Boyd, Isaac, Danny, Jackson, Allison, Liam and the various siblings I gave them, like I made up a smart-assed sister for Danny), but also good friends with ppl in other Packs, like Ethan and Aiden from Duke’s Pack and Brett from Satomi’s Pack. Derek hangs out with his grandma and Boyd’s grandma all the time playing cards, and Jackson is his cousin (Peter’s kid, and that’s a headcanon you’ll have to pry from my cold, dead hands lol). Derek works with Peter to become the Pack researcher/lorist while Laura is gonna be the Alpha.
But mostly, that’s just bg context bc the fic is about how Derek has this huge crush on Stiles even though he never talks to him bc werewolves don’t date outside of the Pack. So, he tries to ignore his crush (spoiler alert, it doesn’t work) and Stiles gets wrapped up in some supernatural stuff bc he’s poking his nose in where it doesn’t belong and learns about werewolves. So, it’s a big debacle, but it gives Derek and Stiles a reason to hang out, and Stiles asks him all sorts of questions about being a ww and eventually starts researching with him.
-speakeasy au: yes, one day i will post the sequel lol it’s over 30k rn and will probably be close to 100k, just bc i got so much i wanna do with it and omg i love that universe so much.
some highlights of the sequel will include: stiles at columbia and befriending theo (which just spells trouble), jennifer is the new singer at the speakeasy bc cora’s at school (talk about trouble...), stiles and derek arguing bc they can’t figure out the distance thing, deucalion is the new werewolf mob boss in town messing stuff up and peter gets involved in a turf war that derek and his pack gets drawn into, stiles gets allison to help him try to take down peter to free derek from his clutches, parrish comes to them looking for answers bc he doesn’t know what he is and he’s been working as a circus act and he takes a liking to erica, scott gets bitten by a rogue alpha, a well-deserved holiday for derek and stiles where they can be alone and have a romantic weekend...
-medieval au: bc of my phd in medieval lit and my obsession with got, i thought i should write a medieval fic lol so i’ve got around 12-15k of this one written. the sheriff is the king and the country ends up in a war. the other side kills claudia and tries to kill stiles, so the sheriff/king sends him into hiding when he’s 6 yo. he sends them north to lady mccall’s manor bc her husband was one of the king’s most trusted knights who died in the early days of the war, and he puts stiles’ life into the trust of the hales, sir edmund, the captain of his honor guard, and lady talia, queen claudia’s best friend and trusted attendant. stiles grows up under the name “stiles” and no one except the mccalls and hales know his identity. derek is training to be a knight. he, scott, and derek’s older brother will be stiles’ personal protection when he becomes king. the story starts when stiles is almost 18. he’s in love with derek, and derek loves him, but they are stupid and refuse to admit their love bc of duty and propriety etc. eventually due to angst and obvious actions that prove their feelings, they get together while still living up north and pledge their love to one another.
but then stiles turns 18 and moves back to the castle, and suddenly his life is completely different. he continues to carry on his relationship with derek, but it’s difficult. then stiles has to marry princess allison argent for political reasons, so stiles and derek break up and allison and stiles get married. stiles tries to make his marriage work, but it’s pointless bc he will only ever love derek. derek goes to war, gets hurt and almost dies, and stiles realizes he doesn’t care about anyone but derek.
lots of angst and pining and trying to make it work with other ppl and not being able to be together and being together in secret, but there is a happy ending for everyone involved (including my bb allison). i just wanted to see a medieval fic where they couldn’t be together so it had to be all in secret after reading some accounts of kings’ secret male lovers throughout history.
-domestic: yes, there will be another long one where derek is pregnant with gil that i keep promising. i’m just lazy with that fic lol it’s around 15k too i think. basically, derek surprise! gets pregnant, so everyone has to deal with pregnant derek. isaac starts nesting alongside derek and like brings him casseroles and helps make him cozy, evie gets convinced her brother is going to be a tadpole or fish and so tells her teacher her daddy is pregnant with a fish and sets up a fishbowl for gil to live in, patrick takes his big brother and future alpha responsibilities really seriously and gets bullied at school, and stiles is building his magic herb shop.
-cheating au: not derek cheats on stiles or v/v, but derek is married to kate and cheats on her with stiles. i’ve always wanted to read a fic where this happened, with a secret affair with hotel sex hookups and car blowjobs and it’s all kinda shady and starts out as like derek going to gay clubs and he meets stiles and starts watching stiles and his boyfriend but then ends up having sex with stiles and even though it’s supposed to be just sex, derek falls in love with him. happy, way too-fairytale ending, i’m sure. this one i’m not even sure i’ll ever post just bc i’m afraid ppl will send me nasty comments XDDD
