I JUST wanted to do some rp doodles someone stop me from rabbitholing on worldbuilding functional architecture and interior design in a world where roughly half the common population are between three and five feet tall
#I've thought about this a LOT in passing like... just in general like#halflings and dwarves are common enough in most dnd settings that the world would HAVE to be accessible to them#it doesn't make sense that it wouldn't! like it's easy to be like 'oh this [dwarvish/ halfling/ elvish] settlement is sized for that race'#but in the campaigns I'm in any place that isn't A Dwarven Stronghold or A Gnomish Village or whatever is always very mixed race#SO-- how are public places constructed to accommodate? how are bar and shop counters constructed for people to do business over them?#it's very easy to handwave inns because a small person can fit in a medium sized bed very easily but#would inns offer some smaller rooms with smaller beds to get the most possible money out of their building's space?#anyway all I wanted/ needed right now is 'how high is a bar' and 'if aubree's standing on something how high would that put her'#but now I wanna know exactly what she's standing on gjfhkjgfd#like ideally STEPS but you wouldn't want steps extending out too far where taller people are trying to stand or sit ??#are there fold-down stepladders built into the bar? is there just one dedicated spot for smallfolk to order if they don't wanna sit down?#HMMMM#about me#my art#dnd#my ocs#aubree
