Honestly? Nobody is doing it like Sarah Jane Smith.

In her first episode she sneaks onto a research base with such high security that even the guy in charge was barely let in, immediately demands why the Doctor won't turn her in when he discovers her true identity, and stows away on the TARDIS because there is a mystery happening and nothing is going to stop her from investigating.

And then when she finds herself back in time in the Dark Ages, she thoroughly tongue lashes the Dark Ages brute who catches her, immediately allies herself with royalty, arms herself with a dagger while leading an attack against the aforementioned brute who captured her in order to rescue the Doctor, starts woman's lib in the Dark ages, and is the only reason anybody makes it out alive.
