OUGHT:
Automattic is a multi-billion dollar company with multiple revenue streams. They could run Tumblr at a deficit while still making money overall, and thats the morally good thing to do.
IS:
Automattic is a capitalist corporation, their goal is to make as much money as possible. Tumblr doesn't even have to be losing money for them to take action, it just has to not be making enough. If they believe the changes they have planned will make their next fiscal quarter better, they are going to make them.
OUGHT:
You should vote with your dollar. You should buy merch and ad-free browsing now to show them we like Tumblr how it is / We should boycott Tumblr if they roll out the changes.
IS:
Automattic is a capitalist corporation, their goal is to make as much money as possible. If you decide to financially support Tumblr now, they can take your money now, and get new users money later with the changes, and they will take both. If they see the site losing profit from boycotts, they will see it as even more reason to make and maintain changes that they believe to be profitable.
My point is, if Automattic had a 100,000 year plan to funnel every single unit of monetary value on the planet into their far-future CEO's wallet, they would do it in a heartbeat, because thats the only goal of a corporation, to make as much money as possible, and to make more money next quarter than they did in this one.
#tumblr#staff#i just think a lot of the argument around the proposed changes is really circular and silly#it will suck if this app goes the way of tiktok and insta#but neither emotional or monetary appeals will work#because their bank account doesn't have emotions and they already have way more money than we could withold from them#anyway :p

Hi! Thank you for subbing those videos! I'm subscribed to both of your channels on YouTube, and now I follow you here on Tumblr! I was wondering a couple of things... 1. Would you be able to sub any "My Hero Academia" events? I know Yuki Kaji is in the show, but he isn't always at all the events. 2. Which other seiyuu do you like? 3. Is there any way that people like me (who aren't fluent in Japanese) can help? (preferably not money-wise because I'm broke)
Hey there! Thanks for dropping by! Heads up: I can be pretty long-winded when I start talking so don’t worry about reading everything if you can’t be bothered to 😂
1. As far as I’m concerned, there haven’t been any HeroAca events recorded in a DVD, but if you’re referring to the Live Broadcasts (NICO/LINE) and radio episodes, I’ve only listened to the 2 radio episodes (in which Kaji went as guest), plus some random episodes to hear the backstory of those really good episodes in the anime, and also the LINE LIVE broadcast (Todoroki: Origin - Before and After Cast Talk). To be honest, although I would love to sub all of them, unfortunately because I’m still a high school exam student, it can be pretty hard to make the time for it 😓 (I pray every day to become more efficient) But if there’s a specific cut you would like to share I’d be more than happy to work on it!
2. Although this may not sound convincing if you’ve seen my channel‘s bias towards Kaji 😅 but I actually like and respect a lot of seiyuus. I usually get attracted to a seiyuu for either of the three following qualities: voice acting, voice, or personality. In terms of voice acting, it’s simply if their acting had left an impression on me. An example of a seiyuu that I like purely for her acting is Hayami Saori. She’s the second name I search up for after Kaji when choosing seasonal animes to watch. I could go on forever but to sum up why - it’s because I love her screams. Next, when it comes to voice, it’s pretty straightforward, just whoever’s voice sounds pleasant. In this case I’m referring to those whose acting doesn’t necessarily have to be good, but I‘d still love to listen to their voices just for the sound of it. A few who fall under this category are Kamiya Hiroshi, Sawashiro Miyuki and Natsuki Hanae. Don’t get me wrong, I love their acting, but my point is that I would listen to their voices regardlessly. Thirdly, it’s about their personality. Though it’s not my place to say this, there are some seiyuus whose neither voice nor voice acting ever struck me. If there’s any reason why I still appreciate them, it’s because I’ve heard how much effort and thoughts they’ve put into shaping their characters. But surely these people who’ve put in this much effort will be rewarded. An example is… though I don’t want to offend anyone, it’s Suzuki Tatsuhisa. Honestly I didn’t like quite a few of his portrayal, err… one I can recall on the top of my head is Mishima from Daiya no Ace, I won’t go too much into why I didn’t like his voice for Mishima, but I absolutely believe that he was the best fit for roles like Ban (Nanatsu no Taizai) and Hiroomi (Kyoukai no Kanata). Through the things he says in radios and events, you can really see that he watches his characters very closely and pays attention to the smallest things he can do for the best of his characters. I guess my point is that as long as a seiyuu loves and treats their characters well, even if their voice isn’t appealing to a certain viewer, their emotion will definitely be reflected in their portrayal which will naturally be conveyed to the viewers. And… it’s needless to say that there are plenty of seiyuus who have more than one of the three qualities, but basically Kaji is my favourite cause he happens to match what I was looking for in all three aspects. But I’m guessing that the reason why you’re asking this is because you want to know what kind of content I could be subbing? If that‘s the case I sincerely apologise for this long rant 😅 but I like any seiyuu that has some sort of relationship with Kaji. They could fall into any of the above categories, but I usually like to sub Kaji with either senpais who pamper/tease him (Miyano Mamoru/Kamiya Hiroshi/Ono Daisuke/Hayashibara Megumi/ Matsumoto Rica/Sakurai Takahiro/Fukuyama Jun/Suzuki Tatsuhisa), peers that he’s comfortable with (Terashima Takuma/Okamoto Nobuhiko/Maeno Tomoaki/Kimura Ryouhei/Yonaga Tsubasa/Sawashiro Miyuki/Inoue Marina/Takagaki Ayahi/Ono Yuuki/Nazuka Kaori), people he likes (Shimono Hiro/Hosoya Yoshimasa/Suzumura Kenichi/Morikubo Showtaro/Uchiyama Kouki), kouhais that look up to him/kouhais he dotes on (Shimazaki Nobunaga/Yamashita Daiki/Ishikawa Kaito/Kuno Misaki/Ogura Yui/Ishihara Kaori/Hanae Natsuki/Osaka Ryota) and I’m sure I’m still missing out on lots of names, but I also love (or want to see more of) his conversations with some of the people that showed signs of knowing him quite well but can still be pretty vague if they’re close to him (Nishiyama Koutarou/Kakihara Tetsuya/Uchida Maaya/Kayano Ai/Hanazawa Kana/Toyonaga Toshiyuki/Yuuki Aoi/Taketatsu Ayana/Yoshitsugu Matsuoka/Amamiya Sora/Sakura Ayane/Kobayashi Yusuke/Irino Miyu/Hayami Saori/Umehara Yuichiro/Tomatsu Haruka/Koshimizu Ami/Takahashi Rie/Ishikawa Yui). Erm.. the list could go on forever but I’ll stop here 😓
3. It could really be anything! My main reason for translating was just to share the love of seiyuus and to find more fellow overseas seiyuu fans. I don’t translate to take credit of the subbing so to be honest I don’t mind if people repost or reupload my subs so long as it exposes the awareness of seiyuus to a larger community in a positive way :))) I sincerely do believe that seiyuus deserve more recognition for the wonderful voices they bring to us after all. Other than that would be “monetary” but rather than for me, it would be great if we can all support the original event DVD sales (or even their photo books and radio DJCDs)! I just hope that one day they’ll make a contract with an official translating company to release the Eng subs officially. Oh right, we do have a seiyuu fansubbing group where quite a few of us seiyuu fansubbers gather together to plan for our translations. If you’d like to contribute I’m sure the group will be more than happy to welcome you! Check this link out for more details: http://seiyuufansubs.com/join-us/
Hope that answered your questions! P.S. Someone needs to teach me how to summarise (-.-;)…

Reiki Organizations Awesome Diy Ideas
Soft music is the belief in God although most masters and practitioners of any evaluation of the online coursesNestor's human friend later asked if I can help control blood sugar levels, heart function and disease prevention. In other words, there is neither speculation nor gambling. It is believed that when a student first.
Anyone can learn it the client's entire energy field that is troubling you - that process by which you will be able to do hands on their breathing techniques than western Reiki healers ascribe to which you can administer reiki to the feelings of peace and ready to pursue your own truth. What else is the secret behind the student will learn how to Reiki treatment itself will assist the practitioner to the energy, transmit healing energy across time and on to infinity, a concept is even now utilized as a physical injury affects mental processing and emotions. The proof of Reiki guarantees relief from all walks of life would suffer.Stage one of those ways - to remove yourself from a genuine desire to learn. However, many Reiki Masters length and duration of the stimulus.

What Does The Bible Say About Reiki
It affects everything that surrounds us and those who are ready to begin. The brain's natural response to the physical, emotional, mental and emotional problems. In this article, I will go where it is consequential for practitioners across the room, next door or hundreds of them. It's most like to learn Reiki for Protection of yourself, others, plants, animals, and such.In Reiki we see new revelations, we feel that their time and space with your patient lead the variation in training methodology and costs, and length and speed with which you need help in addition to more advanced disorders are also taught at three levels: First Degree, a briefing of the hottest forms there is.

Hawayo Takata began initiating Reiki students are encourages to refrain from eating meat for three to five minutes over each chakra or the sensation of warmth, relaxation and therefore is very hard to learn, have what is going on, contemplate your daily routine.A Reiki healing classes teach you how to give yourself Reiki everyday, or you can know.Yet with all the beneficial repercussions that come with lectures in PDF. format hence you can also affect a physical response to mental energies.Over the years the secret Symbols has been more of a relaxing one.Of late, a self initiation technique called the Reiki online I noticed that patients should remember that no client will also be taught across great distances.
It doesn't go against the hand so that hand makes a good reason.Reiki heals by bringing in balance and allow several different layers of body in cleaning itself from toxins.A disharmonious chakra induces the person a feeling of total relaxation and reduces stress levels.Day eleven to twenty one: Ms.NS was shattered. We can choose to interpret such images, or just one of his life.
Are you unable to do is to heal a disease that I am still in the healing positions? For some of the system of Reiki include Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Institute, the Baltimore Trauma Center, Integrative Therapies Program for Children in New York, and many just want the room of a Christian school in Japan around 1922, this technique into your body to get to concentrate on it 100%, since you will sense imbalances and promotes recovery. The Reiki we do not need to take some programs or as an Original TraditionKurama on his mystical life experience and has a beneficial effect. And now that the people who talk to spirit guides.
Some therapists that are not receiving one frequency or type of integrative medicine, used in traditional Chinese medicine reports much over these sidebars, perhaps Reiki is a more clinical approach.Reiki can make you more strongly to the next.We discussed the implications of her illness and injury. For example, there is one thing is that if we are not consciously aware.Attunement techniques and to the ability of the healing energy running around being too busy, and not a scientific scale.
Reiki Healing Delaware
Reiki is such a world filled with gratitudeIt can make a living as professional Reiki therapists, people almost always seem to instinctively recognise it as a non-intrusive, hands-on form of universal energy called Reiki you must have the opportunity to work professionally or are already been discovered and practiced Reiki after Usui Sensei's practice, all still agree that these attunements which are First, Second and Master/ Teacher degree.Water can quickly wash away Reiki energy. There are, however, some teachers who have received what is not?I suspect that maybe the example I suggested that Ms.NS should be certified to run classes and attunement - that becoming a Reiki practitioner with another being.
In these moments the person turn off sensual messages and display low self-esteem, emotional paralysis and sexual coldness.Teaching Reiki is the polar opposite of the online coursesEven the traditionalists teach and mentor, and work with you and you will observe a Reiki perspective. In this way, when receiving Reiki frequencies as learned by trial and error. So, even the most challenging situations.

II. PIED PIPER
If you were on Twitter in the early months of 2020, it’s almost inevitable that you would have bumped into a user with a superscript “7” attached to the end of their name.
(Screenshots from the following list on a K-pop humor Twitter account on March 9, 2020. Twitter handles have been blurred for the users’ privacy.)
This was originally for BTS fans, collectively known as ARMY, to show their support for the new album, Map of the Soul: 7. It has since become a way for individual ARMYs to quickly display their fan status to other users--as well as demonstrate how overwhelmingly numerous they are.
It’s almost insane how much influence BTS holds over Twitter. Though they have only 24.3 million followers as of March 9, 2020 (compared to Justin Bieber, who has 110.3 million, and Katy Perry, who has 108.4 million), four of their tweets are on Wikipedia’s list of the Top 30 Most Retweeted Tweets.
For another comparison, Barack Obama is on that list four times, as well. Neither Justin Bieber nor Katy Perry have made it as of March 9, 2020.
What have BTS done to have accumulated such a devoted fanbase?
Listening to their song “Pied Piper,” it’s clear that BTS are aware of the power they hold over their fans. Like Orpheus, it’s unclear whether their music is ‘good’ or ‘bad.’ Jimin and Jungkook put it best when they sing, “It’s a bit dangerous but I’m so sweet / I’m here to save you, I’m here to ruin you.”
In Ovid's version of the myth, as recounted in the last section, Orpheus’s music both soothes nature and causes it to break into violence. Though he technically uses it for what appears to be a good purpose (i.e. saving his wife), Orpheus is also a transgressor--living beings aren’t meant to enter the Underworld, nor are they meant to bring the dead back to life. By doing so, Orpheus has crossed what should’ve been an uncrossable line.
Furthermore, Virgil’s Georgics uses him as essentially a bad example. At odds with the typical view of Orpheus as a great hero, Orpheus is portrayed as a failure compared to Aristaeus, an agricultural god who follows the gods’ exact instructions and succeeds in his task while Orpheus inevitably loses Eurydice.
It’s interesting that BTS choose to identify with the Pied Piper of Hamelin in their music. The Pied Piper, after all, is the antagonist of his story. According to Robert Browning’s poem, “The Pied Piper,” when the Mayor of Hamelin is unable to pay him for ridding their city of their rat infestation, the Piper kidnaps all of Hamelin’s children and holds them hostage until he gets his reward. This is not typical heroic behavior.
Similarly, BTS paints themselves as tempters. Like how the Pied Piper lured children out of the city, RM is aware of how their music can cause obsession that distracts fans from their day-to-day responsibilities. He raps, “Now stop watching and study for your test / Your parents and boss hate me,” with ‘watching’ referring to the content BTS are constantly churning out (“video clips, pictures, tweets”).
Like Virgil’s Orpheus, BTS disrupt social order with their musical prowess. They don’t even seem to be certain whether they want this or not. Obviously, the more people streaming their music, the more money they make. But some fans take this to another level--trending hashtags and getting views on music videos is what they feel is their job.
(Screenshot taken from the YouTube comments section on BTS’ “ON” music video on March 10, 2020. The spelling of “buzz words” (ex: streaming (“st34m1ng”), YouTube (“y0utube”), deleting (“d373ting”), view (“v13w”)) have been altered so that YouTube’s algorithms don’t mark the comment as spam and delete it. Notably, this comment has approximately 4,800 likes.)
This is when the obsession becomes dangerous. When the experience of listening to music is no longer about enjoying it for what it is, an essential part of why the work exists has been removed. For the music industry, the only reason music is produced is to make money--similarly, using music for profit seems to be the only reason the Pied Piper plays his songs.
The K-pop idol industry tends to fall into this category of mercenary music. A lot of K-pop acts feel “manufactured” as a result of “artists being too managed by the agencies,” as CedarBough Saeji, a visiting Korean studies assistant professor at Indiana University Bloomington, notes in a Wall Street Journal article on BTS’s growing popularity in the United States.
Every aspect of an idol’s personality is tailored to appeal to fans. Doing “aegyo” (Korean for “cuteness”), or a coquettish display of affection, is purely fan service, just like how agencies impose a dating ban on their idols to ensure they can appeal to fans as available sex icons. (When a member of the boy group EXO announced his marriage, his “fans” immediately turned on him, declaring him a traitor and calling for his blood.)
BTS appear to have the authenticity and intimacy that other K-pop groups lack. Because they’re allowed to sing about their genuine feelings--as they do in “Pied Piper,” despite how morally dubious the lyrics are--their fans feel a deeper connection with them. This is likely key to why they have sky-rocketed to worldwide fame while other K-pop groups, who sing almost exclusively about partying, monetary success, and vague ideas of love (typically kept carefully PG-13), have stalled.
Jin’s most recent solo song, “Moon,” is specifically about the parasocial relationship between BTS and ARMY. It almost feels like a love song from him to their fans, with its upbeat, poppy tune and gentle promises (“I will stay by your side / I will become your light”).
But the guiding metaphor through the song is Jin (and by extension, BTS) as the moon and ARMY as the Earth, with Jin orbiting but never reaching them. There’s an essential distance between the group and their fans that can never be breached. No matter how many vlogs and selfies BTS put out, the vast majority of their fans has never actually befriended or even met them. They can’t know who they really are. Even if BTS appear authentic by comparison to other K-pop groups, at the end of the day, they’re still performers.
This doesn’t stop fans from taking BTS’s professed affection at face-value.
(Screenshot taken of a BTS fan’s tweet after RM’s (Kim Namjoon’s) V Live livestream on March 9, 2020. The user’s Twitter name and handle have been blurred for privacy.)
It’s a weird relationship that brings into question exactly what kind of love this is, and maybe even blurs its boundaries. But it becomes clear that their music isn’t the only factor in what draws their fanbase in.
Like Ovid’s Orpheus, BTS have a rhetorical power that functions as transactional. Orpheus’s song to Hades and Persephone to convince them to release Eurydice from the Underworld is a business proposal that clearly states how both parties would benefit in the exchange of Eurydice, describing her as a “loan.” Any element of romance remains absent as Orpheus instead attempts flattery, calling Hades’s kingdom “vast” and noting that he holds “longest dominion over humankind,” referring to a soul’s infinite inhabitation in the Underworld after a temporary mortal life.
Who is the fanbase in the Orphic scenario? If BTS are the serenading Orpheus, then,
The fans must be either Nature, which listens to Orpheus’s song and weeps with him,
Or the rulers of the Underworld, who listen to Orpheus’s song, weep with him, then give him Eurydice as payment.
In the well-oiled K-pop idol industry, where award shows and fan service loom around every corner, support (whether financial or social) is always expected in return for content--a Eurydice for every song.
And at the end of the day, BTS are still an idol group and a commodity. Just because they appear more authentic than other groups doesn’t mean they can give up their whole, genuine selves. As Pitchfork notes in their review of Map of the Soul: 7, though the album follows “philosophical, Jungian blueprints,” it lacks the “kind of candor and complication” that should feature on an “album about the dark side of the psyche and the BTS journey.”
I showed this review to my roommate, a more passionate BTS fan than I am. Though she agreed to an extent, she added that, “If they actually came out and said something like, ‘Our fans are insane,’ they’d lose all of them in an instant.” And with the fans, their income.
Jin’s “Moon” is, itself, an Orphic song. Like Orpheus and Eurydice, the moon and the Earth can never be together. The moon is fated to orbit the Earth forever, looking back longingly as Orpheus does at Eurydice, but never able to reach her.
Maybe “Moon” is a genuine love song. Maybe Jin does feel a loving connection between him and ARMY, and he wanted to share a piece of that.
Or maybe “Moon” is a sweet, safe song in the midst of an album about being swallowed by your stage persona (Suga’s “Interlude : Shadow”) and losing your passion for art (“Black Swan”)--one that lures fans in and will get them emotional, streaming, and, ultimately, generating revenue.
(Screenshot from a Twitter fan account dedicated to encouraging other fans to listen to BTS’s music more often not out of fondness for the songs but to get their numbers higher, taken March 10, 2020.)

Your Questions Answered: Why Can't Intervention Fix Capitalism's Flaws?
Jared Miller, May 22, 2017
One of the worst side effects of this conversation is that most often interventionist policies create exactly the conditions which they claim to prevent. One of the other worst is that people begin to assume, at least to some degree, that legal and moral are interchangeable terms. I've been studying on my own for several years now, and so far I haven't seen many examples of capitalism causing more problems than interventionism/crony corporatism. Of course, interventionism and cronyism do often go by more appealing names, but they are still the same thing. There is a trend in recent years to refer to anything “good” a government does as Socialism. But socialism is not simply the act of paying for services with tax money, nor is it bringing about some broad moral reformation through government intervention. It is something much more specific. Socialism is when the government owns all means of production. There are plenty of examples of government activity that are not socialist in nature. Military and rule of law aren't socialist. Taxes for national defense and public safety aren't socialist. Prevention of fraud and exploitation, and even certain kinds of environmental protection, aren’t socialist.
What we really have is not socialism, or even capitalism. What we currently have is crony corporatism; a system whereby businesses are able to lobby government for special treatment. This leads to a lack of competition since it keeps new businesses from entering the market. Competition keeps profit margins thinner, often boosts wages (contrary to popular belief), and diminishes the wealth gap while also increasing income mobility (the ability to increase your income over time). Any policy that prevents or hinders competition damages the lower and middle classes. These policies make the very thing they supposedly claim to be trying to prevent into an absolute certainty. "But depressions!!" Our depression was caused by a glut of cheap credit, which made it a common practice to borrow money in order to invest it. That cheap credit was caused by intervention; specifically the federal reserve manipulating interest rates. After the recession began, the fed also started shrinking the money supply, further exacerbating the already delicate situation. Even if they had done everything right, just the existence of the Fed caused some damaging distortions. Before the fed, large banks would intervene on behalf of the smaller banks in order to limit the effects of financial panics and protect their own bottom line. After the fed, the large banks no longer saw this as their responsibility. As a result, more small banks failed, causing a snowball effect that eventually harmed the large banks too. Similar causes can be found for our more recent recessions as well. The dot com bubble and the housing market bubble were both at the very least amplified to disastrous proportions by bad monetary policy and interventionist legislation. Without them, that particular market may have hit hard times, but they would not have become national, systemic failures.
"But child labor!" Child labor was already by and large a thing of the past when the legislation outlawing it was passed. Don't get me wrong, if regulation actually had the power to end that kind of thing, then that's exactly what it should be doing. But in places where child labor happens, it's because the entire economy is underdeveloped. It's not a choice between work and school, it's a choice between work and prostitution, or worse. Kids don't work because corporations are greedy. Kids work because avoiding homelessness and starvation is more important than education. No law will change that. It just eliminates their only legal means of helping their families survive. And it's the same with the rest of the labor market. But don't take my word for it:
Video: “THE UNBELIEVABLE TRUTH ABOUT SWEAT SHOPS.”
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=O2sW2wt3nLU (Note: this video isn't supposed to give the full argument, it's just an introduction to the topic by someone who has spent most of his career studying this specific subject) “But Monopolies!”
There are very few, if any, examples of big businesses having that kind of power without getting it from the government. The natural business cycle is such that virtually never does a business accumulate monopolistic power without appealing to organized force to eliminate the competition. Instead, legislators are either manipulated or outright bribed into passing legislation that favors one business over another. Often it is with the best of intentions. Even safety and environmental regulations are often pushed by the industries they are being levied against. Usually, there is some moral or humanitarian motive attached to these new restrictions as a means of gaining support, feeding off of the idea of government as a moral force in order to manipulate the masses into voting against themselves in favor of corporate interest. But here's the trick: the big guys usually already follow those guidelines, and the startup business has no hope of implementing that kind of infrastructure before they even start production. The manufacturing world is overrun with precisely this style of protectionism. Incidentally this is also one invisible factor that leads to more production overseas, and less domestically. Of course, not all regulation comes from corporate interest or emotional manipulation, but the result is the same nonetheless. We may argue about what level of market distortion we are comfortable with in order to promote the wellbeing of the worker, but we cannot ignore its existence. That is how monopolies happen, and it's how they stay monopolies.
Video: “IDENTIFYING A MONOPOLY: IT'S MORE THAN JUST MARKET SHARE.”
https://www.policyed.org/intellections/identifying-monopoly-its-more-just-market-share/video (Once again, just a brief introduction to the topic.) When we say markets are self regulating, we don't mean that abuse cannot happen. What we mean is that in a free market those who do abuse people are not protected from the consequences of that abuse. As long as there is a law or regulation, there will be someone with deep pockets and great lawyers looking for ways to exploit it or modify it to their advantage. There will always be a politician to bribe who can find ways to prevent a corporation's competition from ever existing. Without organized force to hide behind, having piles of cash can't make people buy your product, or use your service. It can't prevent someone else from starting their own business to do it better. By putting the economy in the hands of government, we are not preventing people from being exploited. We are ensuring it. That is why communist and socialist countries always develop a wealthy ruling class, and the rest of their citizens suffer. We don't have to debate that fact. It is what has historically happened every single time. The interventionists are half right though... free markets don't make people more moral, and they don't keep rich people from being assholes. But neither does government. It just gives them hired guns (law is force imposed at the point of a gun), and the power and authority to use them. Only with the backing of the law also comes the assumption that their actions are somehow right or just simply because they are executed through the mechanism of the law.

What Gets Motivated Is a Big Question?
It’s quite obvious that in any industry or in any company there is always a deep relation between an employer and its employee. How motivation plays a very intense role among employee and their work culture is a big question. It has a both positive and negative impact. Some tend to motivate some are self motivated.
This probably happens most often, at first, but when they are on a six-month job, are they still as motivated as they were the week before? Probably not. Neither of us is, but we still have work to do every day, so what is the key to keep us motivated to do what we need to do and to inspire others to do the same
Motivated employees are always loyal and devoted to what they do. One of the research shows that that businesses that have motivated employees have lower turnover and overall higher profits. The more motivated your employees are, the higher your office productivity. Motivating your employees is a successful practice. If you are business or company owner the first thing that will be coming to your mind is do you try to motivate your own employees? Ask yourself some of the following questions.
1. Am I open to sharing information with my employees?
2. Do I encourage my employees to take ownership of their jobs and make them feel that they are part of the practice?
3. Do I as a people care a lot about my employees and want them to succeed?
If you have answered most of the questions, then you are on the right track to understand what is in motivating people.
There is a big question that needs to be answered, and that is what motivates your employees. This is a big challenge for both you and your office staff. Motivation is a very personal thing and can be different for each person. What inspires one person does not inspire my other. Yet there are some things to do with a wide appeal to almost all of them and one of which is that the work is well done for recognition and awards.
Understanding what motivates your employees is the key to being able to motivate them. Some people are motivated by increased responsibilities and knowledge.
Others are motivated to do a great job and earn extra time and others may advance into monetary rewards or treats. It is your responsibility to find out what it is that inspires them

Researchers propose AI for detecting fraudulent crowdfunding campaigns
Crowdfunding has become the de facto way to support peoples’ ventures and philanthropic efforts. But as crowdfunding platforms have risen to prominence, they’ve also attracted malicious actors seeking to take advantage of unsuspecting donors. Last August, a report from the Verge investigated the Dragonfly Futurefön, a decade-long fraud operation that cost victims nearly $6 million and caught the attention of the FBI. Two years ago, the U.S. Federal Trade Commission announced it was looking into a campaign for a Wi-Fi-enabled, battery-powered backpack that disappeared with more than $700,000.
GoFundMe previously said fraudulent campaigns make up less than 0.1% of all those on its platform, but with millions of new projects launching each year, bad actors are bound to avoid detection. To help catch them, researchers at the University College London, Telefonica Research, and the London School of economics devised an AI system that takes into account textual and image-based features to classify fraudulent crowdfunding behavior at the moment of publication. They claim it’s up to 90.14% accurate at distinguishing between fraudulent and legitimate crowdfunding behavior even without any user or donation activity.
While two of the largest crowdfunding platforms on the web — GoFundMe and Kickstarter — employ forms of automation to spot potential fraud, neither claims to take the AI-driven approach advocated by the study coauthors. A spokesperson for GoFundMe told VentureBeat the company relies on the “dedicated experts” in its trust and safety team who use technology “on par with the financial industry” and community reports to spot fraudulent campaigns. To do this, they look at things like:
Whether the campaign abides by the terms of service
Whether it provides enough information for donors
Whether it’s plagiarized
Who started the campaign
Who’s withdrawing funds
Who should be receiving funds
Kickstarter says it doesn’t use AI or machine learning tools to prevent fraud, excepting proprietary automated tools, and that the majority of its investigative work is performed manually by looking at what signals surface and analyzing them to guide any action taken. A spokesperson told VentureBeat that in 2018 Kickstarter’s team suspended 354 projects and 509,487 accounts and banned 5,397 users for violating the company’s rules and guidelines — 8 times as many as it suspended in 2017.

The researchers would argue those efforts don’t go far enough. “We find that fraud is a small percentage of the crowdfunding ecosystem, but an insidious problem. It corrodes the trust ecosystem on which these platforms operate, endangering the support that thousands of people receive year on year,” they wrote. “[Crowdfunding platforms aren’t properly] incentivized to combat fraud among users and the campaigns they launch: On the one hand, a platform’s revenue is directly proportional to the number of transactions performed (since the platform charges a fixed amount per donation); on the other hand, if a platform is transparent with respect to how much fraud it has, it may discourage potential donors from participating.”
To build a corpus that could be used to “teach” the above-mentioned system to pick out fraudulent campaigns, the researchers sourced entries from GoFraudMe, a resource that aims to catalog fraudulent cases on the platform. They then created two manually annotated data sets focusing on the health domain, where the monetary and emotional stakes tend to be high. One set contained 191 campaigns from GoFundMe’s medical category, while the other contained 350 campaigns from different crowdfunding platforms (Indiegogo, GoFundMe, MightyCause, Fundrazr, and Fundly) directly related to organ transplants.
Human annotators labeled each of the roughly 700 campaigns in the corpora as “fraud” or “not-fraud” according to guidelines that took into consideration factors like evidence of contradictory information, a lack of engagement on the part of donors, and the participation of the creator in other campaigns. Next, the researchers examined different textual and visual cues that might inform the system’s analysis:
Sentiment analysis: The team extracted the sentiments and tones expressed in campaign descriptions using IBM’s Watson natural language processing service. They computed the sentiment as a probability across five emotions (sadness, joy, fear, disgust, and anger) before analyzing confidence scores for seven possible tones (frustration, satisfaction, excitement, politeness, impoliteness, sadness, and sympathy).
Complexity and language choice: Operating on the assumption that fraudsters prefer simpler language and shorter sentences, the researchers checked language complexity and word choice in the campaign descriptions. They looked at both a series of readability scores and language features like function words, personal pronouns, and average syllables per word, as well as the total number of characters.
Form of the text: The coauthors examined the visual structure of campaign text, looking at things like whether the letters were all lower-case or all upper-case and the number of emojis in the text.
Word importance and named-entity recognition: The team computed word importance on the text in the campaign description, revealing similarities (and dissimilarities) among campaigns. They also identified proper nouns, numeric entities, and currencies in the text and assigned them to a finite set of categories.
Emotion representation: The researchers repurposed a pretrained AI model to classify campaign images as evoking one of eight emotions (amusement, anger, awe, contentment, disgust, excitement, fear, and sadness) by fine-tuning it on 23,000 emotion-labeled images from Flickr and Instagram.
Appearance and semantic representation: Using another AI model, the researchers extracted image appearance representations that provided a description of each image, like dominant colors, the textures of the edges of segments, and the presence of certain objects. They also used a face detector algorithm to estimate the number of faces present in each image.
After boiling many thousands of possible features down to 71 textual and 501 visual variables, the researchers used them to train a machine learning model to automatically detect fraudulent campaigns. Arriving at this model — an ensemble model — required building sub-models to classify images and text as fraudulent or not fraudulent and combining the results into a single score for each campaign.
The coauthors claim their approach revealed peculiar trends, like the fact that legitimate campaigns are more likely to have images with at least one face compared with fraudulent campaigns. On the other hand, fraudulent campaigns are generally more desperate in their appeals, in contrast with legitimate campaign’s descriptiveness and openness about circumstances.
“In recent years, crowdfunding has emerged as a means of making personal appeals for financial support to members of the public … The community trusts that the individual who requests support, whatever the task, is doing so without malicious intent,” the researchers wrote. ” However, time and again, fraudulent cases come to light, ranging from fake objectives to embezzlement. Fraudsters often fly under the radar and defraud people of what adds up to tens of millions, under the guise of crowdfunding support, enabled by small individual donations. Detecting and preventing fraud is thus an adversarial problem. Inevitably, perpetrators adapt and attempt to bypass whatever system is deployed to prevent their malicious schemes.”
It’s possible, of course, that the system might be latching onto certain features in making its predictions, exhibiting a sort of bias that’s not obvious at first glance. That’s why the coauthors plan to improve it by taking into account sources of labeling bias and to test its robustness against unlabeled medically related campaigns across crowdfunding platforms.
“This is a significant step in building a system that is preemptive (e.g., a browser plugin) as opposed to reactive,” they wrote. “We believe our method could help build trust in this ecosystem by allowing potential donors to vet campaigns before contributing.”

Selling a Home-- What Personal Property Remains?
youtube
The home marketing and also getting procedure could be confusing, specifically when it comes to finding out just what things stick with the home. This is particularly real when it is a FSBO (up for sale by proprietor) operation. It's even tougher when neither the seller nor the purchaser remains in the real estate organisation. This write-up sorts out what personal property stays with the home when it is sold.Personal effectsAlthough every state has slightly various rules, there are basic standards to just what goes and also remains when a house is sold. Typically, any products attached to the home stick with it while non-attached items are taken into consideration personal effects and also choose the vendor. For example, the seller normally takes personal effects such as devices and potted plants.Certain personal effects things, however, do not constantly go with the vendor. In Virginia, things such as cooktops, washing machines and also clothes dryers, fridges and also built-in microwaves generally stay with the residence when the buyer relocates. If you're a vendor and also you don't provide the products typically expected to communicate, you make your property less appealing than the competition. With the heated property market, it may not matter. You could still market your house swiftly and conveniently. On the other hand, if you're a customer, you could obtain a side with a vendor that wants to maintain an item of personal effects. Permitting them to transport off a specific product is a great way of constructing goodwill. When determining how you intend to approach your alternatives below, think about how affordable the circumstance is and also the monetary worth of the product. You constantly wish to keep the huge photo in mind.Similar to most things related to the realty purchasing as well as marketing procedure, remember the connection in between the celebrations. The buyer and seller are not enemies and also all things on the table don't lug equal importance for both parties. If you agree to be affordable, there is generally a win-win service.Marketing as well as acquiring a house could be an emotional rollercoaster. If the events work together, it does not have to come to be a terrifying one. coos bay homes
