OS: Confide In Me

“So, Mr Raizada! As you can see these are some of the coping mechanisms that people use mostly to hide their sufferings” therapist said while checking the list of things they went for in today’s session.

“Wait! So constant talking, always being happy and doing crazy-weird things is also a type of coping mechanism?” Arnav asked

“Yes Ofcourse! Or else how would you explain such behaviour?”

“Maybe, that’s just how some people are?”

“Mr Raizada, being constantly happy and pretending to be carefree is actually a toxic positivity, people like these rarely talk about their feelings with anyone” Therapist further explained

“Okay! Thankyou for letting me know”

Arnav couldn’t stop thinking about the whole conversation he had with this therapist at the end of the session. A lot of things she said about toxic positivity and how it’s actually a coping mechanism made Arnav realize that’s exactly what Khushi does.

She always talked about everyone’s problems but her and always acted like she was happy. He never really paid attention to it as he thought that’s how she was, but that was until now.

The more he learnt about toxic positivity and how it can be a coping mechanism he observed Khushi’s behaviour more. He had started to understand that beneath that happy face, goofy behaviour was a girl, her inner child who was immensely hurt for so many reasons. It absolutely crushed him realizing that Khushi thinks her feelings aren’t important or that she never really had anyone to confide in.

“Khushi” Arnav called as he entered the room

Khushi was sitting on the bed, all set surrounded by Snacks. Today was Friday and every Friday they watched either Hollywood or Bollywood movie.

“Arnav ji! You’re right on time, I was about to select the movie for tonight” Khushi said expressing her excitement.

“Khushi we need to talk!” Arnav said in a little serious tone

Khushi’s face expression changed when she realized that the movie night was off today.

“But Arnav ji! What about the movie-"

“Forget about the movie! There’s something we need to talk about” he said while sitting down with while holding her hand.

“Khushi, are you happy?” He asked

Khushi chuckled at his question and said “Ofcourse! My name is Khushi after all”

“No Khushi! I am seriously asking are you happy?” He asked in a concerned voice

“I don’t have any reasons to not be happy, I have such a great husband, great family, everything is going well in my life” she said with a smile

“But Khushi! You never talk about your feelings or your internal conflicts” he said

At this point Khushi was avoiding eye contact with him intentionally as she knew where this conversation was heading.

“Khushi I want you to know that it’s okay to talk about your feelings” Arnav assured her

“I do talk about my feelings” she said while looking down.

“Khushi! Are you really okay?” Arnav asked

And this one question was enough for Khushi to trigger her emotions. She immediately started breaking down and Arnav pulled her towards himself allowing her to rest her head in his chest.

Khushi was completely breaking down, like she never did before and Arnav was crushed as he had never seen her like this before, but then again no one’s ever asked her “How she was” regarding her feelings and inner conflicts. Because everyone always thought Khushi is the happy person even during her darkest times.

“There’s just so much hurt in the heart I don’t even know where to start” she said while sniffing

“You can start from wherever you want to, I am here, I am listening to you” he reassured her again

For the first time in her life Khushi was opening up to someone about her wounds and regarding how she feels. From Bua ji’s biased behaviour towards Payal, to Shyam stalking her and harassing her verbally and almost sexually and Arnav’s abuse as well.

“You hurt me too Arnav ji! You hurt me a lot” she said while looking at him with teary eyes

Arnav’s face was full of guilt, as he started realizing how much he put Khushi through from the day they met.

“I am sorry Khushi, I am so sorry” he said with a cracked voice, he knew that sorry wasn’t enough to fix every messed up thing he did to her but he was clueless about what else to say

“Your actions hurt more after you forced to marry me, I kept asking you what was the reason but you only said to me that I hurt you, it was killing me each time I thought about what I did to hurt you. And…and when you called me the biggest mistake of your life a part of me died” she said while being in the most vulnerable state.

“I know Khushi! I know that no amount of sorry will fix the damage that I did. You know I react impulsively, and I was stupid to call you the biggest mistake of my life. I didn’t mean it, it was just due to the heat of the moment. Because Khushi Kumari Gupta Singh Raizada, you’re the best thing that has happened to me in my life, you make me a better person, you inspire goodness in me, you understand me like no one does, you changed my black and white vision, you made me believe in love. And yet I kept hurting you” he said while getting vulnerable

Khushi looked at him, she could see that Arnav truly regrets what he did in the past. Khushi did hold him accountable for the pain he caused her but she also knew he was the man she loved and is in love with. She had allowed Arnav to be vulnerable in front of her and yet she understood where he came from, she understood that things weren’t easy for him either and biggest part was that he was changing and being a better person everyday

“Realizing your mistake is better than apologizing and I am proud to see you leaning on that way Arnav ji” she said while holding his face

“You and me, we have both have endured a lot in our lives, we have made plenty of mistakes. But with each mistakes we have realized what wrong we have done and we are trying to be better in our own way. After all we’re together in this” she further added

“Always and forever” Arnav said while pulling her towards him for a hug.

So, first things first,

My very main F/o is Ink Sans!

I have loved that guy since a long time and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future

He's my first ever introduction to what loving someone is like, and also an emotional and mental support when there was none, so I'm a bit too... attached to him. Like alot.

Yep! Some other AU Sanses (like the most popular ones i think) but my feelings for them are VASTLY different than with Ink. For example, how I'm repulsed with anyone x Ink,I am not with others, and BARELY even mentioned them if ever.

I would even like to interact with those who ship themselves with a certain sans and have a repulsion towards canon x canon of them! (So as long as they're fine with it and are aware of other stuff down below-)

About me and content i post-

I mostly create artworks (mostly traditional sometimes digital) about my selfship, s/i lore(very tiny amount), ship children, and sometimes just random stuff

I have a few AUs that are all fully self indulgent stuff that i mostly keep to myself.... exept a couple... and some arts relating to them.

Main ones i post about are:

very much green, mostly because that's His Colour, and also green<333 my favourite colour for one of my mains<3333

generally reiji projects what he wants people to see, so even though he seems open he's actually. really not. if he slips up and shows what he really feels he often plays it off as a joke, playing up the image of a happy go lucky fool

i can’t speak for Canon, but in context of my ship with him? definitely the night when we stayed up way too late and tried to teach each other our instruments, neither of us does a very good job explaining things anyway but we’re both infinitely worse at it when exhausted so it went really badly and was absolutely hilarious

OHHH BOY okay so first off he does calligraphy, that's his Literal Job, and i just know that he's good at painting too, especially landscapes, and whenever he's been around kojiro or i for a while it influences what he's painting

he's on social media semi-regularly, he mostly uses it to promote and share his work

a lot of the time he'll find a phrase that relates to what i'm dealing with and do a calligraphy piece of it for me, i have dozens because i'm normally Quite Stressed. when he's stressed i normally make him lay down with me and watch movies, there is no escape, only cuddles and studio ghibli

Is there a specific reason you got into self shipping? How close do you feel with your F/O's? Do you imagine scenarios with them? Do you have any advice for someone interested in the self shipping community? Is there any discourse I should avoid?

This response got pretty long, so I'll have it under the cut. I hope this helps!

So when I first started self-shipping when I was a lot younger, I mainly did it because I would just find the character attractive and had a strong intimate feeling towards them. I can only think of like, 1 character that I self-shipped with when I was a kid where it was romantic.

Obviously, now I'm into self-shipping because I actually have full on romantic attractions to the characters I've listed as my F/Os. Some of them I actually didn't even realize I might've had romantic feelings for when I was younger because I just didn't understand most emotions.

The closeness I feel for them really depends on the F/O and how much sentimental value they have to me. Like, Boozoo I'm not too close with, because he isn't that much of a sentimental character to me personally, and he hasn't been in my life long enough. Now, for characters like The Mask, who have been in my life a lot longer because I was a kid when I watched the movie and cartoon, he means a lot to me as he impacted me in various ways that I didn't even realize. But overall, I do feel a closeness to them.

I imagine scenarios with them all the fucking time. I've occasionally had days where those scenarios would be the only things I think about. Like meeting them for the first time, going out to do fun things together, even just hugging and kissing. It's always in my brain. And I never really use a self-inset, I just use my ACTUAL self.

Advice wise, do not feel ashamed of any character you fall in love with. If the character is 'ugly' or evil or poorly written or even just a blank slate, that's fine! Because the good thing about them not being real is that your brain will shape them how YOU think they should be, and sometimes, that won't even change much! Don't bother with people who don't like your F/Os, because to you, unlike the people who disagree, that character is lovely in every way.

Biggest thing, do not get involved with pro-shippers/anti-antis. Like, even if they're minors and they just don't know better. And try to help in the cause of not letting that ideology spread. Don't make adults think it's okay to self-ship with minors, or self-ship with characters they consider 'biological family'. None of that. Stay away from that waste land, and don't even try to convince them they're wrong, cause they won't listen.

Also, if a F/O is from a controversal piece of media, please make sure to be critical of it! Try to separate them from the media as best as you can, make versions of them that gets rid of any offensive material they may have in their personality or appearance.

Also, it's okay to have F/Os that aren't lovers! They can be your friend, or family, or even a rival. So don't feel like you're stuck in a single category.

Finally, for the most part, just make sure you're happy while you do it. Seriously. Please make sure you're making yourself smile when you do self-ship related stuff. It's meant to be loving and fun. And that's how it always should be.

strawberry: before getting together, how did your F/O realize they had a crush on you? How did they act around you once they realized they were head over heels?

It took him a little bit. He doesn’t have much experience with romance, or with recognizing romantic feelings, in addition to being a bit emotionally repressed in general. Once he did realize his feelings, he did his best to bottle them up to avoid them interfering with his duties. During the day, he would behave mostly normally, if perhaps a bit unusually cold to avoid the unnecessary romantic feelings. When he’s carrying The Almighty he’s more overwhelmed with emotion, sometimes almost lashing out at her more because of how hard it is to keep his feelings in. He only speaks up when he realizes just how much bottling them up interferes with his life.

rose petal: what traditions do you and your F/O share?

He really is kind of a man of tradition, so there’s a lot. From bigger ones like observing holidays, to maybe smaller ones like having something special to do when their week is done. He feels like the kind of person that would have a special Sunday meal he likes to make and share with Morrigan, for one.

cherry vanilla: how does your F/O show their affection for you?

Being emotionally repressed as he is, showing love is a bit of a learning curve for him. He’s quite articulate and does a good job expressing what he feels in words, but also he’s very used to serving others and in many ways defaults to showing affection through actions as well - he’s definitely the type that would do all kinds of chores for Morrigan without asking, or the type to bring her tea while she’s working.

coconut mango: what mementos do you and your F/O treasure?

I could see Morrigan doing something similar to what Olivia does in FE Awakening and keeping little keepsakes from places they visit, like a shell or a pressed flower, or some sand. Also, if it counts, she probably journals about all these experiences and keeps all those details written down.

nectarine: do you and your F/O live together? If so, what does your living space look like?

Jugram and Morrigan almost definitely start living together after the events of TYBW (at least, in my au where they both live and Yhwach is defeated lol). But it definitely happens as soon as possible because Jugram honestly craves domesticity. Potentially they just take the abandoned Silbern if Morrigan does take over as queen, but left to their own devices I think they would opt for something a bit smaller and more manageable while still comfortable.

pineapple: what toppings does your f/o like on their pizza? what about you?

Jugram in general leans towards vegetable toppings, and his favorites are mushroom and black olive. Morrigan is a classy bitch and loves prosciutto and fig pizza; out of more common pizza toppings, she likes the combination of fennel sausage and green peppers.

lemon sorbet: does your F/O get jealous easily?

Jugram is not naturally a jealous man. He’ll get sharp if someone is disrespecting Morrigan’s boundaries, but it’s less about jealousy. That answer also might be slightly different when he has The Almighty and in general feels more strongly.

key lime: how would you describe your self-ship’s aesthetic?

Very elegant! Lots of white and gold (it’s a wonder they manage to keep it so clean), and swords, but more delicate-looking ones like rapiers. They’re both pretty refined on their own, but together it’s another level.

pistachio: when was the last time that you or your F/O cried during a movie?

Honestly, it’s not an easy thing to make him cry at a movie. Basically the one thing that will work is that one family of tropes that includes things like found family and traumatized person receiving love for the first time, and things along those lines. Even then it’s a rare occurrence, but those things are the most likely to get him emotional.

matcha: what kind of gifts does your F/O give you? Are they always buying you little presents or do they invest only in larger items for birthdays or holidays?

Jugram is the kind of person to save up what he has to get nicer gifts for Morrigan less often. He doesn’t necessarily reserve it only for special occasions, but just whenever he has enough saved up to treat her. He wants to get her the nicest things, but he knows that’s not possible all the time.

blue moon: is your F/O very routine-oriented or do they like to go with the flow? How routine-oriented are you?

Jugram is definitely routine-oriented. He likes to have a schedule, either with Morrigan or without. Morrigan has a general plan but has a bit more room for flexibility.

Somewhere in the world of the living, for sure. Maybe take him to go see the city and whatnot. Give him a break and let him enjoy the sights. He needs it.

raspberry swirl: how does your F/O cheer you up when you are feeling down?

He’s the first to admit he’s not an expert in this regard. That said, he can be a good listener, and it’s nice to just tell him everything that’s wrong. He’s also more than willing to take work off her shoulders, or to take care of her for a bit (running theme with my f/os, it seems!). Definitely the sort to make her some tea and ask her what’s wrong.

red velvet: what is your favorite food to bake with your F/O?

Jugram doesn’t have that much of a sweet tooth, but I think he can appreciate some of the more delicate sweets. So the first thing that came to mind would be something like a strawberry shortcake, when strawberries are in season. Light and delicate and really making the most of those berries. Neither of them are particularly experienced bakers, but they’re good enough at following directions to pull it off.

I'm sorry to keep bringing such sad news but this is one of my only places to vent. Recently Willow Smith came out as polyamorous on I believe it was the Red Table. They made an Instagram post about their new episode and when I went to comment my support for Willow and how brave she was to come out there was just loads upon loads of polyphobia. Calling polyam people "perverted", "lacking self control", "unable to make emotional connections", "abusive perverts", "not fit to raise children", etc. That's only a quarter of what people say. I had to shut off my phone for awhile so I didn't self-harm by reading all of the polyphobic comments. It terrifies me to think someone might abuse Willow for being polyam out of polyphobic hate, not just because she's another human being, but also because polyphobia is so normalized and loud especially now that a celebrity talked about it that it could put out polyam people like me in massive danger. I'll have to be very careful about who I'm out to irl to avoid such things. Again I'm really sorry about this, I just want to be happy with my f/os but now I'm having bad thoughts. || Polynon

I think Atsushi would probably try to be upfront about it, though his embarrassment would definitely get in the way sihdjaish I think he's a physical affection person though, hugs from behind are definitely something he loves to do when he's clingy

I can see Yosano being a gift giver, I think she'd take note of things I like and buy things that remind her of me! Things like nail polishes in my favorite color, clothes she thinks would look cute on me, ect.

Fyodor.... Fyodor is bad at affection. He struggles with expressing affection, but he'd try his best. I think he'd dabble in just about all types of affection in a lowkey way, occasional compliments, quick notes of things I like, ect ect. I think the one thing he would avoid doing is physical touch, simply because of his ability and his touch starvation would prevent him from ever doing something like that eidhajjdhajsh

Atsushi would definitely try his best to cheer me up though ways that make him happy, since it's really the only experience he has. Cuddle sessions and gentle reassure are definitely his go-to.

Yosano is god awful at comforting, truly. She's more of a vent and listen person, she'd encourage me to talk through what's making me upset to get it off my chest and make sure I know she's listening. After that, she'd probably offer up some sort of distraction, like a move night or something!

Once again, Fyodor is not great with emotions simply because he just. doesn't experience them very strongly. He'd notice when I got upset, though, even if it was just a little bit. He'd do lowkey things, move away from serious topics, crack a few more jokes, try and take my mind off of whatever's upsetting me!

Hello I love your blog and I have a question i wanted to do a ship myself with a character I am really in love with and I have watch this show ever since it came on toonami and I am been back and wanted to do an oc but I really wanted to put myself with the character but I feared that someone is going to say he is mine and all that sorry i am rambling abit :) but my question is what advice would you give to a first time self shipper?

Aaaa hello! You’re so sweet. Thank you! Don’t worry about rambling, I do that too.

While I’ve been self-shipping for a few years, I only got involved and more open about it with the community almost a year ago. Star Platinum is my my actual first time self-ship and I love him with all my heart, and I don’t think I’ll ever stop loving him after everything he’s done and is still doing for me.

If you happen to run into someone who acts on their jealousy of you having the same F/O as them, the best thing to do would be to block them. It’s harsh, but it’s the easier way to avoid further problems.

It’s kinda like that for me honestly, because of bad passed relationships that put me through emotional abuse and trauma, I became an easily jealous and protective person. When it comes to F/Os I’m not super attached to, I don’t mind all that much. I’m not one to act out on jealousy because I have some restraint and common decency, but if I ever came across someone who also shipped with Splat, I’d prefer they not interact with me for my own sake, and there’s nothing wrong with not wanting to interact with someone who may have the same F/O as you for your own mental health. It’s only an issue when you act out on that jealousy and attack them. For the record, I’m okay with people talking to me about Star Plat in platonic ways, just not romantic, if that makes sense.

Above all though, this community is a place to make friends with like-minded people. Remember to have fun, interact with people, it’s actually easier for me to find self-ship friends if they ship with characters from the same series as me, I’m sure it’s like that for most people. However, it’s important to give love to self shippers who ship from entirely different series, even if you have no idea what it’s about or the character’s name. Support the heck out of one another.

One more thing I’m gonna add, it’s inevitable you may run into some haters, while I understand it’s hard to ignore them sometimes, you should try your best to. Even I need to heed my own advice, but there are some instances where the hate is so pathetic and petty, I usually have something to say about it. Of course, I’ve been on the internet for over 12 years and have had experience with assholes and know how to deal with them. Just remember, if you get anon hate, their words are empty insults. They’re hiding behind a mask so they don’t have to deal with the backlash, they’re abusing the anon feature to be an asshole. You’re not in the wrong, they are.
