At some point I'm gonna go through the books and find every reference to what Gideon looks like, and what her parents look like. Bc I think that could be a valuable tool for artists.
#there is some beautiful-ass art out there that is unfortunately kinda to extremely white-washy#her mom has a broad flat nose with prominent nostrils and she and her dad are both described as brown#she has wide thick lips with dimples#these are important details and I think having a reference guide would save a lot of time#gideon nav#the locked tomb#I know I was critical of that post saying 'WHY don't they look Maori!!'#but my criticism there was aimed at the presupposition that there is any clearly defined way to 'look Maori'#Gideon on the other hand is a character with clearly defined non-european features and most defintely CAN be whitewashed#and having a compliation of what exactly those features are I think would help artists.... not do that#bc I don't care how beautiful it is.... I'm not reblogging that#ntn spoilers
