I've been trying to hack One Thousand Year Old Vampire for a game with Bthemetz post Battle of Red Mountain since MUCH of that game fits her predicament - functionally immortal, but her chassis was near destroyed / fell apart, needs to convince/manipulate people to help her rebuild it/maintain it post-dwemer (and thus has a need for mortals/ordinary people), extremely long-lived, issues with memory, etc.
It's definitely made me rethink my post-red mountain canon with her (little concrete exists really asides from kasmei & bthem) and also made me engage with her relationship to lorkhan in an interesting way, but I may need to rule some shit out
Either way, the time between battle of red mountain and where I want to pick up on her again during skyrim's timeline, post-morrowind and post-septims, is EXTREMELY rough for a lot of reasons and has her acknowledge and grapple with her lack of mortality directly
#obviously avoiding blood and treating this carefully but#i think there is some potential as a metaphor#especially consider bthemetz as a self-exile who betrayed the dwemer#especially considering bthemetz who became a fraction of an et'ada and thus is stuck unchanging and was never going to be able transform as#mortals could. and that immortality was part of her punishment#(that bthemetz's immortality WASNT a choice is also something explored in vampire mythos)#but mostly i just want to think about the reprecussions of being 3000 years old
