2 Adventure AU (cont.

REFURBISHING AND polishing my 2 adventures AU 

If you don’t want to read my last post, (which is fair bc it was mostly rambling), the gist of it is that the LU crew goes on two adventures. The first one occurs while most of the chain is quite young and then years after that adventure ends they all come back together again grown. This applies to everybody BUT Warriors. 

For the first adventure most the heroes are really young. Time has just finished the events of Majora’s Mask. Wind has just finished Wind Waker. Four, he’s not even Four yet, just went thru Minish Cap. These three are all around age 11-12.

Hyrule is 13, having been living by himself for a year now after completing the events of Zelda 1. Legend is 16 and has only been home for few months after the events of Link’s Awakening. 

Sky and Twilight are both 17, having just finished their respective journeys.

WILD, I owe this completely to the suggestion of @durudurururu, is 16 and has recently been knighted and is starting his fight against the calamity. He has not been through the events of BotW yet. 

And Warriors. . . Warriors is a 23 year old, recently appointed captain, who is in the early stages of the war of eras. He has so far not met Mask or Tune yet in his war. 

I think the funniest way this would go is that Wars along with Sky, Twilight, Wild, and Legend are pulled together in quick succession and are told somehow by the goddess that there’s a great threat that requires many of her heroes to vanquish. 

Wars thinks this will be fine. He isn’t shocked that this is happening, his own era is going through something similar, and working with some teens isn’t bad. He’s already used to leading young knights back home. 

Shit hits the fan immediately 😭

Warriors tries to take charge, assuming a leadership position quickly. Sky and Wild are quick to follow him, already quite used to following captains back home, but Legend and Twilight… 

Legend, freshly traumatized, has decided that he already hates Warriors and does his best to refute everything he says and generally makes things 100 times more difficult. Legend often tries to do his own thing which pisses of Wars to no end. Wild and Legend develop SEVERE beef right away after Legend’s declaration that “knights ain’t shit.” Sky tried to play mediator until Legend declares that “Hylia is a stank-ass ho” as to which Sky is like: >:(

Wars hopes that Twilight will be reasonable. He tries to tell Twilight to do something he doesn’t want to do one day and his response is to spit in the ground, “not the city slicker telling me what to do.” And struts away. 

Wars prays, PRAYS., for the day this adventure is over. His teenage comrades get into more fights with each other than they do with the black blooded monsters they should be. Their hygiene is almost dangerously bad. They REEK. Wars prays for the day he doesn’t get awoken by a petty argument. Three times this week dinner has been interrupted by a PHYSICAL altercation between from two to ALL of the boys.

When Sky says the goddess told him more heroes will be joining them, Wars prays that they will be older and wiser. When he’s met with a gang of child soldiers he decides that Hylia must be dead and gone because this has to be the work of demise. 

Two of them are non verbal. The masked one makes some attempt to sign, but the young, skittish teenager makes absolutely 0 effort to even try or even indicate that he’s listening to Wars. Wars is convinced that both of are feral. Were they raised in the woods?? In a cave? 

One is a self proclaimed pirate. Wars is ashamed in the others that the person who tries hardest to actually listen to him is the 12 year old actual criminal who starts struggling with alcohol withdrawal a week into the journey. 

Baby Four is basically the version of himself at the beginning of the 4 sword manga. A huge ego as he’s a budding knight. He listens to Wars less than Legend does. 

Miraculously they manage to survive, not even the journey but each other. Things got a little easier. 

Legend takes responsibility for Hyrule after the chain discovers he’s not in fact non-verbal BUT Hylian is not his native language. He speaks Calatian and Legend the resident polyglot takes to teaching him Hylian. 

Wars is shocked when Wild and Twilight become buddies. He has no clue when that happened. Wild is unsettlingly quiet and too well behaved at the best of times while Wars has to bribe Twilight to bathe sometimes. 

Four looks up to Sky after he learns that he’s a god slayer and starts listening to him in proxy of Wars. 

Wars finds himself with two shadows, Time and Wind.

Their mission comes to a close and Wars finds that he’s dearly going to miss all of his little brothers despite the stress they put him through. He’s prematurely greying now. 

He returns to his own war, reunited with Time and Wind, each a smidge older. After two more years, the war is over and Wars once more says goodbye. The day after the war is declared over, Wars is pulled back by the goddess into a journey across time once again. Apparently there’s some unfinished business from last time.

Wars is SO stressed. He’s not at all ready to go back to being the single father/Fiona Gallagher to 8 traumatized children again. He barely, BARELY, survived last time.

Somehow what he finds is much worse 😭

All of Wars’ journey including the one he went on with the chain, occurred over 3 years for him. He’s now 25. So why… WHY is everyone else so much older????

Baby Mask and the Minish hero are so much older. Time must be pushing 40 and Four is easily 5 years older than Wars.

Twilight, Sky, and Legend are all in their mid to late 20s. Twilight is courting a nice young woman, Legend is engaged, and Sky is MARRIED. With kids. 

Wild, what happened to that guy???, is nothing like the quiet, unsettling, lad he was before. He’s in his early 20s and well. More Wild than ever. He also doesn’t remember or barely recalls anybody.

Hyrule, shy, skittish, feral, Hyrule is also now in his early 20s and is almost outgoing. He speaks clearly and magic unlike anything Wars has ever felt before seems to come from his very being. 

Wind is finally of legal drinking age and is shockingly similar to before except now he claims to be able to see dead people. 

The first thing everyone does is treat Warriors to a drink while he processes.

"The Knight’s Handbook" + gunntech because I swear they had me on a chokehold with how amazing the concepts are (*´∀｀*)ﾉ

First starting with The Knight’s Handbook;

Matilda Grayson. An OLD knight, she's been around for some time, but oh well who keeps count of the years anyways?

She died protecting her little brother from- what was it again? Nevermind, that's all she needs to know.

While I got carried away in her fighting poses + awakened form, she doesn't use them much actually! Her main hobby is cooking and if she could do anything other than being a knight then that would be it!

She does just enough knight work to not be scolded around or anything, but most of her time is spent either cooking in the kitchen of the castle or around earth tasting all new combinations of food!

Personality wise she's mostly chill (unless actually pissed off) and goes with the flow. Ever since there were two queens she's pretty much neutral on either, both are actual kids and Matilda is totally side-eying the fact that literal teenagers have so much responsibility on their shoulders.

Ig in the story she'd still hang around the castle and spend her time as always, though if there were to be a takeover from another queen, she wouldn't mind if she got to stay (also totally not to make sure the other teenager with too much angst eats well)

That's about all I got from her for now, but I still have another oc! (^o^)/

From all the gunntech ocs I've seen (correct me if I'm wrong) none are non-gunntech kids, so I decided to play with that!

I thought it'd be fun if someone had a conspiracy-esque blog about the Gunntech company, that someone is her!

But she didn't start off as anti-Gunntech, oh no, she was actually a really big fan! It also helped the fact that her bestfriend was child of one of the engineers at Gunntech (oc not drawn yet). But one day he just. Dissapeared.

One thing led to another and a rabitt hole was open, every inconsistency that may seem like a coincidence. Every whisper or rumor about something else going on inside those pristine walls. Every single thing is recorded on her blog.

Ofc it is like, very unpopular bc who would dislike the very-good organization that saves the day every day? (With child-soldiers)

I think she'd be hanging out really, REALLY, in the background until last season when the city(town?) needs to be shown what's going on in this facility. Idk, I'd say she'd be a hacket-trope character and then get her hands on those info.

Okay I fell in love with the bond horror au already. I seen you said bez was the only omega part of Vales pack. will bez have an unknown need to be near Marc as well? omg hi anon glad ur enjoying my conceptual horrors! literally saved this ask for my lunch break bc I’m having a work day from hell and I needed something to look forward to lol. the concept of bez being the only omega in the vr46 pack (pre marc ofc) comes largely from @hotmessmaxpress who has a beautiful omegaverse series where bez has tortured jealous omega feelings about marc abruptly becoming vale’s mate etc and then they get over it and love each other

it’s a little uglier in this universe bc things are rough for a long time after vale finally lets marc bite him. they’re crazy insane people so that part somehow comes first like before they’ve even truly worked anything out……..anyway the bez of this universe is the sole omega of the rossi pack for a loooong time and LIKES it that way. omega princess of the paddock, had all ten of his alphas holding his hands at the clinic during the great pregnancy scare of 2023 (after he finally got his way and had EVERYONE participating in his heat post victorious p3 in the championship; someone deeeefinitely knocked his IUD loose; not telling who; still #worthit)

he’s very beloved, grew up protected in his bubble of being one-of-the-alphas (they’re not all alphas btw that’s a generalization but yk) and kind of removed from like (internalized misogyny voice) “omega drama”

enter marc who like doesn’t even understand what’s going on the first ten times he’s invited into the pack nest, wants to participate so bad but still has alex’s insane (well-intentioned) pavlovian training that makes him want to die every time he touches any of them, mostly ends up curled in a ball at the edge of the nest with vale like protectively encased around him

bez does notttt fuck with that. he was literally a #marcanti for much of recent history, and none of them are talking through any of it so he doesn’t understand that marc is having issues and trauma responses, he thinks marc is like playing needy omega to get vale all to himself.

okay I’m rambling whoops. to answer your actual question, I don’t think bez, or even any of the pack feel any tangible kind of pull towards marc. they probably would’ve (and eventually do) if the bond was complete bc vale would feel marc and they can feel vale (is this making any sense ?? think like transitive property or whatever I graduated college without taking a single math class……..)

I DO however subscribe to the school of thought that bez actually just had a garden variety secret little crush on marc pre divorce (this is real life canon to me btw) and also post divorce in a tortured sexual awakening sort of way (remember this bez has like a million alphas and has never been w an omega and marc is like. the hottest omega to ever exist….this is me alluding to eventual omega on omega porn when they get to the level of healing where marc and vale can participate in pack sex without either of them having a meltdown) have I answered your question yet ummmm I’m not even sure

bez is appropriately horrified when he finds out about the decade long psychological omega torture vale has been doing to marc for general omega solidarity reasons, but he still kind of hates marc for a while, even when he’s like crying and yelling and hitting vale in the chest for ever doing that to an omega how would you have felt if this happened to me etc but in the back of his mind still like did it have to be that fucking guy ughhhh

S1: The Birb's Feelings

(pt 1.5 for episode 7 and 2 for season 2 idk when cause shit's crazy rn)

Stolas is one of the most morally controversial characters in the show. With the show revolving around Blitz's relationships, it's natural that the show gives us the most information about him because he is arguably Blitz's most complicated relationship at the moment (I'm not going to include Barbie bc we've literally only seen her for like 5 minutes in one episode which isn't enough information). I wanted to do a quick overview of how I perceive Stolas's feelings throughout the duration of the show in sort of a timeline format

~Episodes 1, 2, 5~

So, at first, it's obvious Stolas doesn't really think of Blitz too romantically and mostly sexually. Ok, completely sexually. However, there's a reason why that people often overlook sometimes. Stella openly said in the season 2 premiere that the only time him and her had sex was to have Octavia. Man's literally been deprived of anything enjoyably sexual his whole life. So when he finally does have sex that's enjoyable for the first time, he naturally wants more of it

As we all know, Stolas isn't the most self aware king (or should I say prince) out there (which is okay; he's still growing and developing as a character). The way he treats Blitz in these first few episodes sort of gives off sex toy vibes. Obviously, this is where Blitz gets that mindset from, that all he is is just a toy for Stolas

But after seeing what Stolas' true personality is now, I highly doubt Stolas knew exactly how he was treating Blitz during this time. Again, self awareness issues. Natural part of his character that, after watching Viv's writing since the Hazbin pilot first released (yeah og right here), I'm positive will be developed on later in the show. So hold your horses people, we're just now 2 episodes away from only being halfway through with the show. Give it time, it'll happen

Anyways, Stolas isn't a bad person (I'll fight anyone over this take, dont play). But he does the wrong things with the right intentions. He treated Blitz the way he did in these first few episodes because Blitz was the first person he's ever enjoyed having sex with. It's a big deal to him as it sort of "awakened" him. I think he was so happy about the sex after around 35 years of nothing, he didn't fully realize how he was treating Blitz in the process

~Episode 6~

My favorite episode. Stolas shows up when I.M.P.'s sort of cornered by the agents and scares them shitless with his scawy big birb form. First he makes sure Blitz is okay, then he scolds him for getting caught. Almost like a mother who's mad but cares for their well-being (crying in ghostfuckers)

This may seem small to you guys, but for me this was when Stolas became my favorite character. Not only did this moment show he's more than just the cringy comedic horny relief, it also showed that he cared. Why would he ask if Blitz is okay if he didn't care about him? That has nothing to do with the book. If it got in possession of humans he could literally just kill them in like a second and take it back. Tbh (dont come after me pls) but before this episode I didn't like my first impression of Stolas. Despite the many takes calling the cringiness of his lines in the first few episodes "iconic", I hated it. It was just too much

And in this scene it's not just that he's asking in general, it's how gentle he's being with Blitz. Holding his face and speaking a bit softer with a caring expression on his face. I love it so much (aggghghhghghgahhaagh). I know his attitude changes after a few seconds, but still it was a nice moment that reshaped my perspective on his character for basically the rest of the show

in terms of speculations, i usually only talk in terms of general themes\narrative direction and character arcs, i don't like to try and predict the plot itself, bc it often goes immediately into fanfic territory mixed with conspiratorial theories of like interpreting kabbalah symbols and shit

but i think natlan's plot beats were basically laid out plainly in simulanka's side quests about squirrels and frogs. like, there is a frogs tournament where they determine who's the strongest champion, which we already know will be natlan's centre premise.

we have a squirrel princess , who organizes a trial to find the Guardian who can then "awaken" a relic, which should save her kingdom. this is 100% mavuika, like hello?? we literally had trailer with her announcing the tournament, "winner takes it all", and then standing in front of glowing relic, talking about "igniting".

so, in this quest, there is a squirrels' kingdom, awaiting the Guardian who can reignite the relic. they are waiting for a long time, but the Guardian doesn't arrive. So long time ago, a squirrel Princess (not the current one) sealed off the kingdom.

We know natlan is isolated itself, i.e. sealed off. So i think previous ruler, not mavuika, closed it off long time ago, and all these years they repeat the tournament again and again, trying to find the Guardian who can reignite the relic and save them. I don't know who that ruler is, was it an archon or pyro dragon, or just a ruler, i don't know yet.

now, mavuika decides to break the cycle. She doesn't want to wait anymore, she thinks decision to seal off was wrong

this is what she does in the trailer. i think what's more, is that Mavuika will open the tournament to the foreigners to compete

now, we have another major character, the frog champion. This frog champion is said to be objectively the best champion, but he at first refuses to compete, bc he "made a mistake" and thinks he's not worthy. instead, he tries to get his friend to become champion. But then when dangerous situation arrives, he proves himself the best champion when he needs to protect the others.

SO. I think the reluctant frog champion is capitano. based on previous nation trailers, all principal cast appears in the trailer. capitano is repeatedly mentioned as being the strongest warrior by several characters. in trailer, mavuika addresses him directly, asking if he's brave enough, and they share a frame. I think capitano is gonna have a tragic backstory where he failed at smth critical before and now thinks he's not worthy, i think he will at first NOT try to compete himself, but have like. a friend or protege or smth, who will be competing, but then some emergency will happen and capitano will be forced to act, proving he's the strongest, so becoming the champion.

This, i think, is about capitano and tsaritsa.

Anyway, capitano, an outsider, being named Champion is a scandal and there is gonna be some conflict about it. I'm not sure how the dragons gonna play into it yet, but like. even if capitano is not the champion, the champion WILL be the outsider who Mavuika will accept despite her natlan conservatives being against it

BUT this is not the end. Frog champion couldn't reignite the relic and become the guardian. I.e., Capitano will be the winner of the tournament, "Champion", but he will not be able to "reignite" the relic that Mavuika wants.

Princess and frog champion then go to the Cave Of Eerie Murmurs, which is very khaenriah coded. In my most delusional dreams, we will have a khaenriah field trip, but at the very least, it should be a callback to the cataclysm.

In the cave, Princess and Champion go thru several trials together, mostly Princess is doing trials and Frog and traveler are helping. They succeed and pass trials. But the relic still DOESNT reignite. Then they talk to "records" of previous princess and champion, who are resigned to being ghosts and think there is nothing to do but wait. But Princess refuses and vows to FORGE HER OWN PATH, and this is what reignites the relic. Princess becomes the Guardian herself.

okay, so. idk yet what the titles translate to. Is Princess = Archon? idk, maybe not! Maybe princess is just a ruler, so Mavuika is NOT the archon, and like the winner of the tournament is supposed to become the Archon, i.e. Guardian = Archon. Or maybe Guardian is tied to Dragon Sovereigns! Or smth else completely!

What I *can* say, is that there is some sort of position of higher power - "Guardian". Only Guardian can save natlan. To become Guardian, you need to be acknowledged by the "relic". Mavuika will host the tournament in hopes that the winner will be worthy of being acknowledged by the relic. I think, capitano will be that winner. But, the winner will NOT be able to reignite the relic and take the high power. Winner and Mavuika will go thru ancient sacred trials (possible khaenriah related), Mavuika will be the one doing the most, they will succeed, BUT still not reignite the relic. Then Mavuika will rebel against traditions and forge her own path, and this is what will reignite the relic. She will become "Guardian", Mavuika, not the winner of tournament, will be the one who gets the higher power and saves natlan.

But after the kingdom is saved, Frog Champion is able to ALSO awaken the relic and become the guardian. And then Princess says she will turn the "trial" into "training grounds", where ppl can train and become Guardians too.

SO. Whatever power Mavuika gets, Archonhood, Sovereign Authority, idk yet, she will not be the only one. First, the winner\champion will share the same power, and then the natlan tournament will be changed from "winner takes all" competition into training grounds where everyone worthy can share the same power. Thats the natlan endgame

I mostly recommend this mod bc there are a few gifts that have dialogue attached, and i feel like using vanilla gifts just feels better than generic dlc ones. Anyway i know who wants what by heart but it might be good for a first run

this is primarily a bi mod and it is good for that, but what i like most about it that it removes gender restrictions on random dialogues. The caveat is that frankly i dont think this should be used on a first playthrough as it includes non-canon content that will not import to da2 and might cause issues(if you don't care about da2 imports, go ahead). But that's just the big choices, so if yo uwant the gender neutral dialogue it is still worth getting… the way i personally use it is remove the Morrigan and Anora folders if i play female bc i don't want those options available to me for rp. if you play male just don't romance Alistair i think that's the only big change. 3.4 version should be used to be compatible with dialogue fix pack. When I tested this now it made the game not load there is probably a way to make it compatible but not worth it for first time player.

HAAA I was JUST about to post my own little introduction when you sent this, perfect timing B)

This is my Rook, Ronnie Mercar (he/she/they), a dwarven rogue belonging to the Shadow Dragons faction.

I'm still hashing things out, but the idea so far is that they used to belong to one of the minor noble houses of Orzammar. In their youth they were heavily influenced by the political discourse surrounding the casteless*, as well as their anxieties surrounding what was expected of them by their family and Orzammar society, both of which fed into their more rebellious nature.

Long story short, years of animosity towards her family and Orzammar as whole made her leave the dwarven city behind, a final act of defiance of both. She did regret this decision about 5 minutes after going through with it, but the bridges had already been burned so she had no choice but to keep on going.

He spent the first couple of years just roaming about, surviving mostly of off the valuables he had brought with him from Orzammar and letting the wind take him where it might. This is where his personal and political journey truly began, discovering the world and just how sheltered he had been growing up. He became more and more involved with the "small folk" in his travels, both as a necessity and out of curiosity, which is how he eventually got tangled up in organizations like Red Jenny and later the Shadow Dragons.

It's this journey of someone who lived a very comfortable life, had an awakening that just shook their entire world view to their core, and slowly became more and more radicalized about it. Their activism was probably clunky as fuck to begin with, but after a few decades in the right company they figured their shit out, as you do.

The meta reason they're a rogue is bc I wanted to play one again. The in-universe reason is that they were primarily taught to fight from members of the various groups they ran into, most of which I imagine would be rogues playing fast and loose with the "rules" of combat. They have the body for it too, being very agile and strong in ways similar to a gymnast, with a good amount of upper body strength and a strong core.

Fun facts:

He absolutely cannot stand mushrooms. The texture, the flavor, the way they're in EVERYTHING down in Orzammar, it just all made him hate them with a fiery passion.

Despite being blind in one eye, they're a great shot. You only need one eye for aiming anyways.

She hates it when people shortens her name to Ron. It's either Ronnie, Fevronia, or Rook. Take your pick or fuck off.

*In my canon, the Warden was a casteless dwarf who was made Paragon after the blight, and thus had a noble house founded in her name. She let in all sorts of casteless to her house after its founding, as is the right of any Paragon who founds a house, and I imagine this in combination with King Bhelen making a (former) casteless noble hunter his rightful queen really stirred the shit pot in Orzammar.

For with a society as ancient and rigid as Orzammar, what do you do when that rigidity is fundamentally shaken to its core? When some of the most revered and powerful among you suddenly come from stock you considered a stain on your entire race? And let me tell you, my Brosca did absolutely nothing to make that noise any quieter, taking every opportunity to be just as defiant and scandalous as she could get away with.

I'm not sure how much change this actually ended up enacting, but it sure as hell kept the political discourse going.

so it is a terrible horrible crime the way fandom sleeps on these three. it's like royal trio all over again but so, so much worse because there's even less moonlight trio out there and the canon dynamic is even more full of potential if I am being honest. like sumire and akechi don't even really interact but ryoji and aegis DO and the shit we get is so GOOD but everyone is like. meh. and it's like. i am going NUTS ok!!

and i know that the fandom could see this potential because everyone ships ryomina and femc x aegis. femc x aegis is gay i get that but aegis x minato is also very good i will die on this hill.

(and moonlight trio i am sure is also very good with femc, i just haven't played p3p yet so i can't speak on it personally. but like, you can ship the trio with femc if you prefer femc with aegis bc femc and ryoji also have a Thing going on.)

instead we get this stupid split down the middle where minato gets ryoji and femc gets aegis bc everyone is allergic to straight ships and no one gives a shit about aegis x ryoji which is a fucking CRIME. and now i am going to stop complaining and sell you on these three.

ryomina is already pretty popular (and the appeal is very obvious, if you don't think they're gay for each other you didn't pay attention to the game) so i'm not gonna spend too much time on them. minato and aegis's relationship is already mostly on screen, he's who gives her life purpose as i'm sure you know, but to me their relationship really truly shines when it's all three of them, which i'll get to in a sec.

but ok first let's talk about aegis x ryoji. because oh my god. aegis is programmed to see ryoji as the enemy, it's like, her very first and primary order she was given, to destroy him. but she fails to do this, she fails her prime directive, she fails her purpose as a being. and this is what gives her the existential crisis that ends with her awakening to athena and developing a human heart. because she realizes through her failure to defeat ryoji, and from the time she spent with ryoji the person instead of Death her enemy, that her life is more than just her programming. and that ryoji isn't just her enemy, he's her friend. ryoji is the reason aegis becomes human.

ryoji and aegis both have Issues with feeling inhuman and unlovable. minato also feels inhuman and is a monsterfucker who is into that shit. (both thanatos and the robot.) ryoji and aegis find love with minato and should also find love with each other because they have this familiarity of being Other and Outside humanity. minato also feels Other because Depresso and it helps him connect to both of them but the two of them really experience it in a way minato doesn't.

both ryoji and aegis have an almost unhealthy attachment to minato as the person who gave their life meaning. i'm really into codependency so this is great for me.

i am obsessed with the contrast of "aegis falls in love with ryoji despite her programming which told her he was the enemy, and falls in love with minato first because her programming told her he must be protected, but that programming blossomed into something genuine and real beyond that." it's just so fucking good okay.

The Unified Thedosian History Theory

I was right about some stuff, but I didn’t get the origin of the Blight or that the original elves were spirits— I do still think the blood magic ritual stuff could be very interesting!

With the announcement of the fourth DA game (TEN YEARS after the third one) I have returned to only thinking about Dragon Age literally all the time. Idc if it's bad (although it seems promising to me), there is nothing that could stop me from playing this game. Going to put my Thedas history theory under the cut, pretty much just so that if I turn out to be right about any of it I can point and be like SEE?

Spoilers for: Dragon Age: Origins + DLC, Dragon Age Origins: Awakening, Dragon Age II + DLC, Dragon Age: Inquisition +DLC, Dragon Age: The Veilguard (as much as we know in August 2024), The World of Thedas Volumes I & II, Dragon Age: The Calling, Dragon Age: Tevinter Nights, Dragon Age: Absolution, The Dragon Age Tabletop game (yeah, really)

In-Universe Sources

Okay so I'll just overview which in-universe sources I'm going to use most.

1. Solas. He was there and even though he is The Lying Man he really hates lying lol (Very funny to play through the game when you know his secret and see how many things he says are Technically true). I think that anything he considers to be factual information (how things looked, what events generally happened, etc) and is NOT his opinion of stuff can be taken as mostly factual. Idk where it concerns Mythal, because he's obviously biased toward her.

2. Vir Dirthara, Elven temples. About as reliable as Solas, biased from an ancient elven perspective and vague bordering on incomprehensible in places.

3. The Chant of Light. I think that we can say that some version of most of the events depicted happened, especially since we have first-person corroboration on the Blight stuff from Corypheus, maddeningly vague though he may be. There are several examples from Inquisition and the WoT volumes of the Chantry deliberately changing or obfuscating things to serve their purposes, so everything from them is a bit suspect.

4. Dalish folklore. At least partially correct, although maybe told from a biased perspective where it concerns the Evanuris.

The Beginning of Modern Thedas

Okay so, pre-Veil in Thedas, the dwarves and elves are most likely the only races inhabiting the continent. There is Elvish lore in the Vir Dirthara suggesting that the Evanuris at some point subdued the Titans which were revealed in the Descent DLC. I think it's likely that the dwarves' own religion and the elvish word for them (children of the stone) point to them literally being creations of the stone titans in some way (maybe they are the same race? Valta refers to the Dwarven race "breaking in two", but could also be the separation of the Sha-Brytol from the other dwarves). Considering the apparent attitude of the Evanuris and the Elvhen empire at the time, it seems likely that they were subjugated by the Evanuris and probably used for magical works, considering their blood is Lyrium.

So the Evanuris go to war; Mythal is betrayed and killed (I think it was Elgar'nan, but we'll just put a pin in that), Solas takes offense to that and creates the Veil, trapping the Evanuris in the then-Golden City in the Fade, the astral form of Arlathan. The humans do not arrive in Thedas before this point; the Chant's explanation for this is obviously incorrect, given that we know Solas and not the Maker is responsible; given that this is the primary human explanation for the Veil, it seems reasonable to assume they weren't present for its creation, since they seem to think it's just a natural phenomenon. Creating the Veil is what causes the elves to lose their immortality and inherent magical skill. The humans arrive after this and begin to build what will become the Tevinter Imperium. These events occur in close enough proximity to one another that Elven lore eventually forgets the real reason they're no longer immortal and attributes it to the influence of humanity (or, at least, some elves do).

This is when worship of the Old Gods began. They are just the Evanuris, speaking via dreams to the humans. If you remove Mythal and Solas (who were not trapped behind the Veil) from the pantheon, there are an equal number of Old Gods and Evanuris. The Old Gods are also worshiped as dragons, who will eventually become the Archdemons; the Evanuris clearly have the ability to control dragons, which you can learn if you drink from the Well of Sorrows at the end of DA:I, but I think their control was probably more direct and sustained. (Also, controlling dragons is possible via blood magic, as shown in DA: Absolution, so it's probably just an incredibly difficult/powerful spell). They also have the ability to transform into dragons, as Flemythal demonstrates in DA2. I hypothesize that the Old God dragons are still able to be controlled by the Evanuris from the Fade, and they use them as their physical avatars, as well as appearing in draconic form in the Fade.

The Evanuris teach the Tevinter mages powerful magic and help them enslave the elves, which is essentially returning them to their status quo, except they obviously would prefer not to be trapped. This is when they start suggesting to the High Priests that they should walk into the Fade and open the gates to the Golden City. Breaching the Veil and opening the cage would hopefully let them out. So, the Magisters do this, they reach the City, they open the gates.

Now it gets really interesting, because this is where the Blight gets released ("And so is the Golden City blackened with each step you take in my hall"); I think that the Blight could be one of two things: 1) A failsafe for someone letting the Evanuris out, meant to weaken/contain them, 2) A curse created or used by the Evanuris to give them control over people. I think that second one is the key, personally, and I think that explains a lot of what's happening in Thedas that hasn't been explored yet.

THE Ritual

Essentially, I think the Grey Warden Joining Ritual, the Well of Sorrows ritual, the ritual we see performed in the Horror of Hormak and the process used to turn people into Darkspawn are all the same thing. Functionally, you introduce a magically imbued bodily(? idk what it is in Hormak) fluid into the host, and then they are connected to the originator of the spell, resulting in some kind of physical/mental transformation depending on what the intent of the creator is. (It's probably blood magic or blood magic adjacent, but at this point in the series I don't think it really matters).

For the GW Joining I think it is a very diluted version of it, because the whole thing is sort of passed down third hand to them (Dubiously canonical, but in the DA tabletop game they say the Wardens learned the ritual from Tevinter mages and elves) and they don't really know what exactly they're doing (which, IMO, is part of why Solas dislikes them so much). The originator of the spell, in this case, is the Archdemon/Evanuris, but it is diluted by the blood of normal Darkspawn and the blood transfer is so minimal that, if the ritual does not kill the recruit outright, it only connects them distantly to the Archdemon, and the progression of the curse is so slow that it doesn't fully take hold for ~30 yrs.

Compare to what we know about how the Darkspawn fully transform a person into one of them (not talking about someone getting tainted and becoming a ghoul like Tamlen/Wesley/That guy from DAA). The concrete example we know about is the Darkspawn turning the dwarves of Branka's house into Broodmothers. If you listen to Hespith's explanation of what happens... (please be careful if you follow the link— there is implied sexual assault) well it's extremely gross, but essentially they are forced to take into their bodies a large amount of bodily fluids secreted by the Darkspawn, which over time turns them into Darkspawn themselves. The Hormak ritual is performed similarly.

The Well of Sorrows is, I think, I gentler version of this same ritual. Sorrows implies tears as the fluid to me; the participant, in this case, must be willing, and it seems like the actual control that is given is, at least initially, pretty minimal. This is another thing that Solas objects to very strongly, and he won't tell you why. He doesn't even want Morrigan doing it, and he doesn't like her at all.

History Again

So, if that's the case, then returning to the Magisters: they breach the Golden City, which becomes Blighted, turning it black. They themselves are infected, and flung back into the material world-- this could either be purposeful on the part of the Evanuris, in order to spread the Taint, or it could be accidental. For my theory, it makes sense of them to do it purposefully; because these are the original victims of this ritual, they inherit some of the knowledge of the Evanuris, like we see with the Well of Sorrows. We see Corypheus performing the same trick as the Archdemons/Old Gods when he transfers bodies in the DA2 Legacy DLC. (Would be great to have confirmation of abilities via the Architect, but unfortunately we haven't seen him in a long time and everything he says is incredibly suspect/he may not even remember that he is a magister).

They spread the Blight. At this time I think they are probably either so disoriented they don't know what they're doing or just thralls of the Evanuris. Even when Corypheus is awakened in Legacy, he seems very confused about when/where he is. I think that in the present timeline, Corypheus and The Architect have simply become so old that they've effectively outlasted the taint (a thing that is possible to do, according to The Calling), to an extent, and gotten free will back.

Anyway, Blight spreads throughout Thedas, the Old God Dragons are corrupted, giving the Evanuris the ability to directly control the horde (put a pin in that, more Darkspawn discussion later). They rampage through Thedas, seemingly heading toward the heart of the Tevinter empire (pin that too).

The Grey Wardens are founded, the Wardens slay the Archdemon and the Blight ends. Skip forward a bit and move down the continent to everyone's favorite shithole, Fereldan (or, what will be Fereldan).

A native tribeswoman, Andraste (a powerful mage), bonds with a spirit, which is an established tradition in this area. This spirit is called the Maker by the Chant of Light, but it is actually a Justice/Vengeance spirit-- Mythal. Mythal helps Andraste lead a crusade of justice into the Imperium, allying with Mythal's people on the way.

Before the crusade is finished, Andraste is betrayed by her husband, Maferath, just as Mythal was betrayed by her husband. Her loyal elven retainer, Shartan, vanishes into the flames with her, just as Solas vanished after Mythal's death.

Okay, but why would Mythal do that, besides her natural inclination toward justice? Why would the Evanuris want to mind control the entire population of Thedas? What the fuck are the Darkspawn even doing, exactly?

Let's Get Very Speculative

I think it has to be about worship. I think that being worshiped gives the Evanuris power somehow, because why even start the Old God cult? Why would Mythal want to spread a story that is essentially hers in disguise all over Thedas? Why do we see the Darkspawn in DAO make shrines to something? The single thing, the only motivation that we KNOW these gods have is accumulating power. If being worshiped gives them power, then proliferating their religions makes sense, and it makes sense that the first thing Corypheus did after getting out of jail was start a cult.

But how does that work? My thought is that because things in the Fade are a reflection of reality, and because thoughts are able to shape the very fabric of things there, if people believe you are a god and you have infinite power, you do.

I think that, basically, what's going on when there's a Blight is that the Darkspawn spread the taint to the Archdemons, allowing the Evanuris to control them from the Fade; these Archdemons contain portions of their souls, either transferred via the Taint or placed there before the creation of the Veil. The Evanuris use the Archdemons to create a Blight, where they try to get to the center of the Tevinter Empire, not in order to reach Minrathous, but the Forest of Arlathan, which has to be 1) near there and 2) a site of magical power. We see in the Veilguard gameplay video that this is where Solas chooses to conduct the ritual and where the Veil can be breached. The Evanuris are clearly able to walk out of the Fade corporeally from this point, so I think that is the primary/ultimate goal of the Blights.

However, I think that when an Evanuris begins a Blight, they are expending their power and risking at least a portion of their life force. When the Archdemon is killed, it either kills or severely weakens the Evanuris whose Archdemon it was. This neatly explains the Old God Soul, which gets absorbed by Flemeth and then, presumably, Solas. I think the reason that we only see/fight Ghilan'nain and Elgar'nan are because they are the only Evanuris remaining (besides Mythal and Solas, who are both fine I think), with the others either having been absorbed by them to increase their own power (very on-brand for them) or they are simply too weak to leave the Fade.

We have already seen the defeats of Dirthamen (Dumat), Sylaise (Toth), Andruil (Andoral), June (Urthemiel) and Falon'Din (Zazikel, although I don't feel like this connection is entirely solid; I mostly just think this because you COULD associate death and freedom, and the Kios constellation which represents him looks kind of like a guy with a staff and wings, symbols associated with him. Could swap Dirthamen and Falon'Din, potentially. Death-silence is maybe better, and Falon'din's role as a guide could be why he was the first to establish contact with the Tevinter magisters).

Unfortunately, there's not a ton of info available about Razikale or Lucasan, but Night can be easily associated with Elgar'nan, who is said to have wrestled the sun out of the sky, and I'm sure Ghilan'nain's weird fucked up experiments can be classed as mysterious.

This is basically just an attempt to unify all the disparate elements of the lore that we've been given into a cohesive history; a lot of this stuff is maybe not related at all, but it's very fun to speculate! 💧 He was not exactly sure when he gained his consciousness. Maybe he had always had it? Archie did not really care all too much for the philosophical enough to debate it. All he knew for certain was that you were always there. Not the player character that stood before him, but you. He had seen you a few times, he knew. Originally, somewhere in the first run and then a few times after throughout the following… years? He could only run off the internal 3DS clock, which wasn't reliable when you could change it at will. Yet, he knew. You changed. Got older.

💧 The salty winds around him may have been virtual, alongside everything else he knew, and he may have been aware that everything he was doing was for naught and the same end point. That all did not matter. He saw how much you deeply enjoyed the game and was happy to play out his role for you. Though, he was more than eager to see how much he could get away with altering things before you would get suspicious. Something to keep you coming back to him. At some point, he knew that he had become enamoured with you.

💧 Many times, he pondered if there was a way for him to leave this place. It seemed like there had to be a way, but he felt himself unable to do anything significant. A feeling of incapability was haunting. Only worsened by you returning for yet another play through. This time… You seemed different. And not in a good way. It was obvious something was bothering you out there in that unknown world to him. His stomach dropped. Even this fantasy world did not seem to bring you any comfort. Archie thought on it for a long time. Long enough for you to nearly have beaten the game.

💧 It was at the final scene where he was about to awaken Kyogre and send the world into chaos that he finally broke his carefully crafted role. His small character model looked up at the screen with a bright smile. You seemed a bit frightened by the sudden change, but he did not really care at this point. The Aqua Leader knew he could win you over. He had realised something. He could not go out to you, but what about the reverse? “Hey, scamp!” he called out with a new text box, “I get this is startling an' all, but I wanted to ask something to ya.”

💧 He could see the tears that glistened in your eyes more than often enough to make him concerned. “You want to come in here?” he asked. You froze. Staring at the console and rereading the line of text that he had created. It obviously was unbelievable. What were you trying to convince yourself? He could only wonder. “C'mon, I'm not a glitch or whatever yer thinking. It's a genuine offer,” he continued. You blinked this time. Then, you brought your hand to the screen. He reached his own up towards yours.

💧 You could only gasp when your hand actually went through the screen. His own found yours and pulled you in, bringing you entirely into the world lingering behind the screens. You fell onto him as you both landed on to the rocky terrain beneath you. Gasps left you as you gazed around to see the other characters in the scene standing there. Arms came around your waist as the pirate man held you to himself. “Don't worry, they won't react to you,” Archie reassured you with a hardy laugh. You could smell the scent of the sea all about and fell the stagnant air of the cave now.

💧 You both departed from the story beats as he took you to stand on the beach of Lilycove with him. The salty air stung your eyes and nose, but it felt so real. Especially with the unexpected ally in the form of the game's villain. Archie stood beside you with a dreamy look in his eyes. He had an arm around your waist, seeming to prefer keeping some touch on you. All the troubles that plagued you felt so foreign when standing in a distant world with no ties pulling you back. You could see real pokemon, too. It felt impossible. “Well, yer definitely more perked up now,” Archie spoke to you again, “Feel free to stay as long as you like. Nothing really changes here without my or your input.” You gazed at him. He gave a big, playful grin as the ties of his bandana blew in the wind. Here, you felt more at peace.

☀️Maxie🌋

🪨 He could recall the exact moment he became aware of his sentience. It was terrifying, after all. A moment where you realise everything around you is fake and doomed to an eternal loop depending on how often, if ever, your player decides to reset the game. Your second play through was an existential crisis for him, that is to say. The great Maxie was nothing but lines of code, doomed to repeat the same idiotic plan that nearly killed everyone. He would originally only look at you in annoyance and upset. This was your fault somehow. But, he felt connected to you, even still. He could only watch as time passed and you changed.

🪨 Everything around him was fake. Archie was fake. Courtney and Tabitha were fake. Yet, you were real. You were someone he could always find changing with time. He began to understand why you replayed so often. Escapism. His hell of a reality was a fun break away from the hold of the world around you. It might have annoyed him to be stuck how things were, but he was also a perfectionist. The role he was assigned was followed dutifully with little to no swaying from was to be done. Maybe you would get bored and leave him to an eternity of darkness. You never did, however. (Maxie was silently grateful. Your company was the only thing he had going for him.)

🪨 It was all in vain, the many times had attempted to escape thus digital prison. There simply was no escaping the slowly ageing device that he had been trapped within. It held him tightly in his place, never allowing him the freedom even peer into the world that you inhabited. His brain rushed deeply with curiosity about what lied outside. It was strengthened by you returning for yet another play through of this game. But, he felt stricken. You seemed upset – distraught. So much so, that not even rushing to this fantasy world provided any comfort. Maxie's stomach twisted painfully. (Why did he want to help you badly?)

🪨 It was in the Seafloor Cavern that it finally stuck him. Just right before he was to awaken Groudon and bring about a hellish drought that would exterminate all life on earth. He looked up at you. Maxie could not leave, of that he was certain, but could you not enter? He had never broken his character before you, so he felt nervous as he broke the scene's progression. “Hello,” the text box read simply enough at first, “I know this must be unsettling and a bit terrifying, but may I ask you a question?” He let a “yes” or “no” prompt pop up.

🪨 Your eyes went big, glossy with tears and puffy from whatever had been happening before you returned to the game. Maxie swallowed. What was happening to you out there? It hurt for him to consider you. Nervously, you pressed A on yes. It felt like you were falling for a moment, but a sturdy grip helped you regain your balance. You opened your eyes to the heat of the room and stagnant air around you. The other characters in the room stood frozen. You looked around before seeing him. The red-headed man readjusted his glasses in a nervous manner. “Welcome, I suppose,” he nodded toward you, “Don't worry about them, they don't react without input.” He explained. You stared at the magma nearby in fascination. It was real.

🪨 Maxie led you out from the cavern and back to the surface, choosing Mt. Chimney as a place of comfort and getaway from everything that was currently happening in the story. You stood on the mountain curiously, smelling the sulphur in the air as the wind carried the heat of late summer. The Magma Leader stood by you dutifully, fully aware he was going to have to teach you a lot about this world. He stiffened when you leaned against him suddenly, watching distant Illumise and Volbeat float around in the darkness of the night. “You are free to remain here however long you like,” Maxie told you, “... You seem happier now. That's good.” His hand came to hold yours. He gave a small smile to you, watching your reactions carefully. His red strands escaped his careful styling as a stringer breeze blew by you both. Finally, you felt some sense of peace.

Persona 3 update mostly on the story. I just got Aeigis and as a unit she's interested. Very focused on two things which are buffs and AOE physical damage. However her versatility is low so hopefully she gets better skills later. I didn't expect to get her this early I thought she was the last one we get like. Personality wise she's okay. Standard robot character so far but I'm sure her story gets crazy.

But what I really want to talk about is the characters of P3 and how it's really good at giving them their own agency. At first I was very disappointed that characters didn't get their personas through a self revelation like 4 and 5 and that their social links are way more of a barrier, but I get now it's bc they put more time putting their character development into the actual story instead of social links.

I think Yukari might be my favorite Persona character which man it's hard putting her over Ryuju, Kanji, and Mishima but damn she's up there. Her telling everyone off was chefs kiss to be honest. Dont get me wrong I adore Akihiko and Kirijo and I'm not necessarily saying they deserved to get yelled at like that. But Yukari definitely deserved to pop off. And the scene with her on the beach is great. The fact that she's like there's nothing you can say that will make it go away is just great. Again she's the most normal persona but her determination to do go snooping and finding out the truth is just so badass.

Moving onto Junpei my sweet sweet boy. I understand he's an insecure boy who just wants to feel respected and lovef and worth something but that doesn't mean I wanna go around hitting on women that I have no interest in. But I digress. I love his little arc after the love hotel where he just feels such visible content. I felt bad bc I do like Junpei and I hated him being mad even if it wasn't my fault. But it very sweet tbh after the erealizesnthst he's the problem he genuinely goes 'sorry I've been a dick' and we're good but I get the sense that feeling of resentment isn't over. It seems like a common theme in the Magician arcana.

I need to know what went down with Akihiko and Shinji. Also apparently Kirijo gonea through some intense shit too. They're still shrouded in so much mystery in such an intriguing way and seeing them both open up slowly is very sweet. Also I didn't expect Kirijos dad to be so nice I was expecting a Haru situation.

Fuuka is very funny and her willingness to hack into a major corporation is peak. Again I love her own agenda is just not wanting to stay with her parents.

Again, I love that everyone has their own agenda that makes more internal conflict. The P4 and P5 groups all shared the same goal so most conflict was external and very rarely did personal character development happen outside of their persona awakening or social links.

Also looks like I was pretty accurate in my analysis of the protag and that he's just vwry quiet and calm. He's a good leader, but socially he doesn't say much. So I'm more lenient with him being not as expressive as Yu and Akira if that is in fact his character. Yu comes off as very empathetic and a bit more extroverted (from what I remember it's been a while since I've played 4 and 5 and ofc player choices matter) and Ren comes off as introverted but with a silly side along with a strong sense to help others.

But yeah quickish analysis of the my P3 experience. Could possibly become my favorite solely for Yukari.

i don’t remember if i mentioned this in the last post but vincent is a cat person. had a cat named mira. she was a calico.

insomniac.

in his ‘ideal world’ he would have lived with aaron and been able to raise adam.

very, very envious of people with ‘normal lives’.

we don’t know much about what vincent did in the foundation— the dialogue from O5-13 at the end of the children matches up with what he tells aaron in the apartment scene so i assume vincent was felix’s predecessor and felix held another number. as for what he did, we do know he was, like, an ACTUAL engineer who designed bombs at some point (stated in O5-5’s chapter); he could have been in charge of security.

it’s implied he had a second-in-command type position under aaron and likely was on the first delta command before his first ‘disappearance’, unless he wrote the summa modus operandi then just vanished off the face of the fucking earth for a while.

records of vincent are next to impossible to find within the insurgency as he worked so closely with the engineer and they don’t even know who the engineer was.

aaron thought vincent was dead until he received reports of anthony wright working with calvin.

anthony and sloan were good friends and out of all members of delta command during the way it ends, he respected sloan the most. anthony would have considered an actual relationship with him if he wasn’t like “no, i’m probably gonna disappear again or just straight up die soon anyway.” anthony was right, he did in fact die.

sloan knew who vincent arians was, he just had no idea that anthony and vincent were the same person.

genuinely, anthony wanted to die.

adam gave him a reason to live outside of vengeance.

GENUINELY sees adam as his son. he’s a bit harsh on him during TWIE because he never wanted adam in the insurgency at all. he and adam had a conversation at some point where anthony expressed this and told adam he wished the latter just went to a good college and worked in programming or IT.

would not have been able to kill calvin had he made it to the end. would also have not been able to kill aaron.

frederick traumatized this man just as much as he traumatized aaron, vincent just absolutely refuses to acknowledge it.

sophia knew about vincent’s love for aaron and may have even encouraged it.

if his love for aaron was reciprocated, they likely had a relationship while aaron was with the insurgency and tried to be secretive about it but felix carter just “I know what you are.”

he would be very sweet as a lover. very sappy. hopeless romantic. given who he was in love with, are we even surprised?

cigarettes are part of how he started aging again.

the insurgency kind of knows he’s older than he looks, they just say he’s in his fifties because he looks like it, but even TWIE says he’s been around as long as anyone can remember. likely, vincent surfaced as anthony wright around the same time that sylvester sloan joined the insurgency.

his plan in case anyone saw any old photos of vincent and noticed that he looked eerily similar to anthony was to say that he’s vincent arians’ grandson and that his mother was arians’ daughter.

vincent had no children, but he did like being around kids.

during his years with the foundation he’d often lock himself in his lab just to cry. aaron often checked in on him.

frederick repeatedly called him aaron’s dog as a joke that vincent found very not funny. vincent/anthony isn’t really big on dogs because of this.

if anthony had made it to the end he would have tried to make aaron tell him why he left. aaron would not have been able to tell him.

The Chronicles of Vladimir Todd/Vampires: 7/10 (I’m sure if I went back and read these books now, they would be subpar and honestly childish, but at the time, I loved them with every fiber of my being, and the memories associated are good so..)

Dr. Stone: 4/10 (I honestly remember jack about this show but it gets a 4 for being anime.)

Every Man Hybrid: 8/10 (A certified banger. Genuinely one of the better takes on the Operator and the whole creepypasta fandom in general. It’s great fr. Highly recommend.)

Grease: 4/10 (Ew. I’m only putting it here because I was in a production of it, and it was kind of a part of my life, but also, ew.)

Greys Anatomy: 8/10 (A banger show, but it doesn’t get a 10 simply because of how long it is.)

Slipknot: 7/10 (I don’t love who I was while listening to this band, but that’s kind of just something metal music in general will do to you.)

Aliens: 10/10 (This was short lived but strong enough to have bought a “I Want to believe” poster and hung it up behind my bed.)

Beacon Pines: 10/10 (Amazing game, very underrated. Also resulted in good bonding time with my brother.)

Gravity Falls: 9/10 (Another Amazing series that I’m probably a little cringe for. Whatever. It’s awesome.)

2024:

Ace Attorney: 9/10 (I eat, breathed, and slept this game series for months. Nuff said.)

The Ocean/Sea Animals: 9/10 (if I could keep an orca as a pet, I would.)

Midnight Mass: 10/10 (HOLY GOD. Another one of my favorite bits of religious media out there. It’s not exactly prime catholic propaganda but it’s not meant to be either.)

Baldurs Gate 3: 10/10 (This game brought back my DND era, which was much needed. I’d been without fantasy nonsense for a long time and I was ready for it.)
