We definitely have similar tastes! And I love Eurovision but as a British person it’s always very hit or miss on if we do well 😂

So because it’s Taylor’s birthday, what are 13 things you love about Taylor or being a swiftie or just anything like that?

1. The storytelling. Her songs are so rich with language features and all that English class stuff and it makes listening to her song an active experience.

2. Community. It's been a while since I've felt so at home in a fandom, where things like this can be organised and I can make friends. (♥️)

3. Theories. I love the theory based culture that is so prevalent. I don't believe most of them, but it's fun to see connections and Easter eggs, even when they're not on purpose. It makes every post, every event, into something more shared.

4. Her kindness. It's actually so nice to be in a fandom where the main person is actually a good person (I used to be a Harry Potter fan 😬). It's really heartwarming to hear all the really incredible things she's doing, and even more so that she doesn't milk them for clout.

5. It does feel a bit objectifying, but ohmygod she's so hot.

6. Her weight. (Let me explain) I am going through the age where I am most likely to develop an ed, and being a recent swiftie and looking back and seeing how happy she is now, and how she talked about it in Miss Americana has really helped me steer away from all that. Seeing her happy and regretting the era when she was policing her weight has been a really great role model.

7. How she deals with fame. As a swiftie I am very appreciative that she managed to walk the line of 'keeping her privacy' and 'telling us her secrets'. Which is a very hard thing to do esp when writing songs predominantly about her personal life.

(this is a lot harder than I thought)

8. Her cats. I love love love them so much widdle babies kitty catsss.

9. Her style. She looks so cool every time we see her and always looks so pretty.

10. Music. Such fun. She is such a good songwriter and all her songs are so good.

11. Easter eggs. Related to point number 3, but I am running out of ideas. I love how much Taylor leans into the theories. How aware she is of us and how she caters to our puzzle creature needs.

12. How much she knows and interacts with us. So many swifties feel such a strong connection with her because she makes us feel seen, which is hard in a crowd of millions.

13. The number 13. I love how she is so committed to this number. She has her thing. I respect that.
