making no pretense of having either basis or purpose for this, but i like to think Hiruzen and Chiyo would get along really well together; like i'd need to review the timeline of Suna x Konoha relations in order to know what kind of situations they'd likely be meeting in at which times, but i've just got this mental image of an initial or early encounter where Hiruzen makes some dumb joke mid-battle, and his teammates groan / glare / just ignore him, but then he hears a laugh from the opposing side, where one of the enemy Suna-nin (Chiyo obvi) is cackling to herself, and tbh he probably just falls in love on the spot

(Chiyo's not nearly as dramatically smitten as he is (Hiruzen's just really easy), but i do think she'd like her immediate impression / feel that sort of initial *click*)

not sure whether i think they ended up having enough interaction for their relationship to develop beyond that — or whether it WOULD have developed further, given the opportunity (it could be that this surface-level chemistry is the extent of it) — but anyway. (idk how end post)
