Fan, in 2006: Hey I get the impression becuase of this thing you said in an interview that these two characters might have what can be interpreted as a romantic relationship.

Author: oh no, that was a joke misinterpreted! Probably to try and make slash fan fiction canon (it's not).

Fan, 2019: Hey, are these two gonna be in a queer relationship in this adaptation?

Author: Their relationship will be what it was in the books.

Fans: Sing author's praises for queer representation (?????)
