Sometimes I find my way into the regular TMA fandom and it's like having ice water dumped on my head. Like I know I mostly get posts from the people with similarly unpopular (correct) opinions to mine, but there's knowing something and then there's being made aware of it.

Anyway I cannot stress enough how little sense it makes to have Martin of ALL PEOPLE as the Archivist.

#somewhere around here is a post about how I thought Sasha (and to a lesser extent Melanie) were sort of backup archivists #like even if that wasn't the main reason they ended up archival assistants elias considered it a lucky bonus #but martin? when was martin ever particularly curious? when did he pursue knowledge for its own sake?#like him being marked by the eye? sure i can accept that #and iirc you could argue that he fears being known and seen (and i think you need to fear your patron)#but that makes him more of a food source than anything else #like if that was going to send him into the arms of a fear entity it would've been the lonely or the dark #where's the eye /avatar/ behavior? like maybe you could make a convincing case but i feel like it'd be 99.99% headcanon #like jon sasha and melanie are all people i can point to things they did or said 'on screen' and say.
