polite and gentle reminder that it is perfectly okay to not say anything about any particular subject, because moralising about events and people that are not real on the internet does not in fact make you a defender of the good and righteous, but instead just makes you and the people around you miserable when everybody inevitably has to hash out the same argument again and again to no avail

#idk how to explain that HAVING an opinion about something does not mean that you have to SAY it #especially not in public spaces both irl and online #freedom of thought is of course your untouchable right - you can think whatever you like about anything #regardless of anyone else's demands #but like..... having an opinion or a moral stance abt something does not necessitate verbalising it #loudly proclaiming your opinion - however right you think you are - does not turn you into a hero or a martyr #everyone just sighs and says 'oh for god's sake we've already been over this'#you can complain about whatever u like in the privacy of ur own dms or discord server etc etc #of course you can #but really..... MUST we rehash arguments that have already happened a million times over..... AGAIN.....#this is not about any one person or any one tag/fandom #more of a general 'aiyahhh' than anything else #🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
