sit with me for a minute bc I was thinking back about this drama and now I can’t stop wishing for something better than what we got.

sure. at 22 I was more charmed by Kim Go Eun’s acting to notice the flaws, but now I am 30 and I am wondering.

what if. what if. we got... a family au of this instead?? I will call this:

Goblin The Retelling (read my notes first!)

what Kim Shin doesn’t suspect is that said Grim Reaper is hiding something: the little girl who should have died along with her mother from back then has survived her only parent’s demise years later.. and the Grim Reaper has taken her under his wing as per a mysterious old lady’s orders.

Ji Eun Tak is raised by the begrudging Grim Reaper, who teaches her how to navigate her powers as a medium. he wants to prepare her for the job as he still plans to be the one to take her to the Jade Emperor himself when her time will come. but he is confident she will make a great Grim Reaper one day and (since he doesn’t know how short her life will be exactly) he trains her by playing games with her and quizzing her on the afterlife paperwork system and legal procedures.

Kim Shin doesn’t know all of this, but he keeps spotting the little girl and her adoptive father in town. he wonders why the higher ups are allowing all this and is intrigued enough to openly bother father and daughter one day. annoyed, the Grim Reaper takes Ji Eun Tak away, without knowing she can see the sword. Kim Shin doesn’t know she can see it either though.

it takes a while for Ji Eun Tak to realize her new dad isn’t just prepping her for a cushy state job. and.. sure. he is not subtle. he pretends to be human in front of her teachers and classmates, fine. but he hovers around during her tests to make sure she gets all the answers right: he’s wearing The Hat, which she understands to be a magical item that makes him invisible to most people.. but the ghosts are pretty noisy about his presence when he wears that and she is trying to get a good grade on this quiz, please!

so for a while she just finds it annoying. she misses her mum but her new dad is kind of cool. they live in a tea shop nobody can see aside from people who really, really need to pee. her aunt stumbles her way in one day by accident (she really, really needed to pee apparently), but she doesn’t recognize Ji Eun Tak and nothing bad happens. her dad asks her if she prefers going to live with her actual family afterwards. he looks sad at the idea. that’s when she decides this is fine. she likes it here.

but That Man too can see her dad when The Hat is on, which is weird. she likes his sword too. hasn’t told her dad about the sword yet bc she doesn’t need to be even more weird than what she is already, no thank you. no doubt dad has a whole set of scrolls she would need to memorize on something similar if she dares mention it in front of him. she’s graduating from middle school now! she is too busy for that!

Kim Shin stops by the tea shop often and banters endlessly with Wang Yeo’s reincarnation. he confirms it is, in fact, the prince he had served in the past the one sitting in front of him drinking tea, but the Grim Reaper is none the wiser. one day he comments that a young lady like Ji Eun Tak should have her own room instead of sleeping on the ground and the Grim Reaper pales at the idea: it had never occurred to him that would be the case.

the day Ji Eun Tak has her first period is the day her dad actively starts looking for a proper home for the two of them. he is totally unprepared for this and he figures she might need privacy to, oh he doesn’t know what for, to feel her emotions in peace? to yell at God for making her suffer like so? to (*shudders*) paint her nails? he doesn’t know. he hasn’t been human in so long after all.

he finally finds a beautiful place, fit for him and his princess: the guy selling him the villa looks too young for comfort, barely 20 at most and not nearly as trustworthy as he should be, but these are desperate times and Ji Eun Tak is 16 already. he buys the house. he doesn’t know Kim Shin is the actual owner and that he never allowed for this to happen to begin with.

but they allow it. somehow. Ji Eun Tak finally has a room all for herself and room to breathe and a place to invite her friend Kim Yoo Na over, where they can talk about all sorts of things! they can study together! they can gossip! Ji Eun Tak likes this guy, you know, he plays baseball, Choi Tae Hee, and he’s so cool and handsome and... oh! oh but her friend Yoo Na is so cute too! what do?? bisexual crisis in sight, quick! ask your dad what to do!

terrified by the prospect of teaching his child how to function as a proper human (and knowing his own failed social skills), the Grim Reaper asks the Goblin to help him navigate the situation. Kim Shin, being the genius that he isn’t, suggests the Grim Reaper finds someone he likes and wants to woo before he can offer any sort of advice to Ji Eun Tak. sort of like “experience and knowledge are the best weapon” or smth equally idiotic like that.

of course the Grim Reaper falls for it. he completely misses the point that maybe, maybe, the Goblin was actually flirting with him. aka suggesting they dated. no. what this stupid man understands instead is that he has to find someone pretty enough to date, so that he can help Ji Eun Tak be a normal person. yes. yes that’s the way. he coincidentally falls for Ji Eun Tak’s boss (not knowing it’s her boss) at the fried chicken store, Sunny, and it takes him 2 years to find the courage to talk to her. yet, his autistic ass (I say this with the utmost respect as I wait for my own diagnosis to befall upon me and give me answers, don’t come for me) actually manages to bag such a bad bitch in the end.. after 2 whole years.

he reasons with himself by saying he wanted to give Ji Eun Tak a good example by waiting until she passed her uni entrance exam (she did. both her dad and the Goblin were cheering for her once she was done with that :> cute) before dating someone himself. and this Sunny is so nice too! she is so charming and she is charmed by his antics in turn. he doesn’t know she is ace yet, but he doesn’t exactly know how human sexualities work either so.. it’s all good.

if he thinks about it hard enough, she reminds him of someone: someone who talks informally to most people, who is self assured and classy, someone who can be very stressful to deal with due to his mood swings and... oh fuck. this Grim Reaper doesn’t want to think about it. no sir. he doesn’t need this amount of stress in his life. so he focuses on Sunny, but he never allows her to touch him. he never even dared to give a hug to Ji Eun Tak ever since taking her in after all. it would be too presumptuous of him to let a human touch him and for him risk seeing their past life without their knowledge or consent.

(side note: Ji Eun Tak never got a hug from her papa ;-; how sad is that??)

(anyway. back to the plot)

Kim Shin is furious. he makes raining every day. Ji Eun Tak cannot dry her hair without it turning frizzy. Kim Shin doesn’t know why he is so angry. it’s not like he has been lonely all these centuries looking for his demise and... what? a Grim Reaper now ghosts him, really? for a woman? for a human woman? he is so offended now. he spends all his time nagging Ji Eun Tak (like in canon, but more fatherly-like), thinking that if the child likes him best, Wang Yeo will eventually pick him instead of that other woman, right? he is so right they should give him a prize for it. he buys a ton of shit on g-market, Ji Eun Tak gets spoiled rotten, he is winning her over. he wants to fight everyone under the sun. he cries dramatically. he doesn’t know how to stop.

until one day even Ji Eun Tak has had enough of it. isn’t it nice that her dad is having fun? (she doesn’t know her dad is dating her boss at the part-time job tho, she will have A Talk with him about it once she finds out for sure) why is Kim Shin so against it? they have been living under the same roof for 3 years. Ji Eun Tak has gone on dates already! (her dad is so late to the game, Eun Tak is basically two-timing both her crushes with their full consent, they are planning to go all to the same college to make the commute easier. she is on top of her game. her dad is not attuned to how fast humans’ timing can be) Kim Shin should find someone for himself too!

that’s when Kim Shin starts bawling his eyes out and Ji Eun Tak hugs him. this is when she decides this is her second dad now. but she touches the sword by doing so, causing a lot of pain to Kim Shin. a lot of things happen at once: 1) Kim Shin pushes her away and lightly injures her; 2) Ji Eun Tak realizes the sword is causing pain to her new dad and she makes up her mind about taking it out as swiftly as possible; 3) Kim Shin still doesn’t know what any of this means and decides to run away to the mountains.

Sir Grim Reaper is beyond himself with worry as soon as Ji Eun Tak tells him what happened. she still doesn’t mention the sword, bc she figured it’s a sore topic for the Goblin and doesn’t want to spill his secrets in case her dad cannot see the sword. but her dad is sure going to look for that sad excuse of a god and drag his sorry ass back home. that’s when the realizations about The Big Unnamed Feeling start piling up, until there’s a big emotional scene at the skiing resort with Kim Shin being the one hiding while the Grim Reaper goes looking for him.

they don’t.. say it out loud, per se, but they come to an agreement: no more running. they go back home and Kim Shin feels sooo guilty for hurting Ji Eun Tak: he buys her everything. absolutely everything. he pays for her tuition. he will make sure she has everything she wants for the rest of her life. he still doesn’t tell her what being able to touch the sword entails though.. he cannot bring himself to. the idea of losing his newfound happiness is too much.

Sunny looks for her boyfriend however, understandably so. but once she comes to their home and sees he is her part-time worker’s dad.. she decides this is not right. they have an actual conversation and agree that, despite liking one another well enough, this cannot work on the long run. moreover, Sunny feels vaguely threatened by the mysterious man throwing daggers at her with his gaze from the corner of the kitchen counter. he hasn’t moved from there in two hours. he hasn’t given them any privacy. he doesn’t even blink. so annoying. he also talks informally to her! the galls of this man!

Kim Shin realizes quite easily Sunny is his sister’s reincarnation. he misses her, and somehow feels guilty for wanting to steal her man. but he has a lot on his plate already as things are, no need to make himself feel even more miserable. plus, Wang Yeo has not.. technically agreed to date him quite yet. sure, he is free now.. but for how long? he is such a clueless man, he will try to “gain more experience to teach his child how it’s done” or some nonsense like that soon, who put that idea in his mind anyway?? Kim Shin has to step up the wooing game. and he has to do it FAST.

it doesn’t work. oh, the Grim Reaper notices something is UP, he just thinks the Goblin has properly gone insane. he is wielding his sword asking him to duel in a weird, mating-like dance of sorts and the Grim Reaper doesn’t know what any of that means. maybe he is lonely. he asks Ji Eun Tak what to do. she rolls her eyes at him and goes back to text her boyfriend and girlfriend (the ones her two dads know nothing about yet) quite happy to ignore his struggles.

at loss, the Grim Reaper suggests Kim Shin and him do.. something together. to pass the time while Ji Eun Tak gets ready for uni (empty nest syndrome, anyone??). they look for a camera for her to make memories with and they both wonder if their images will make it through. Kim Shin has faked his identity for centuries now and he knows how these things work, so he is confident he will show up in pictures.. but the Grim Reaper is not so sure about himself. last time they bought phones together he did show up in face-calls, but a proper picture? doubtful.

Kim Shin proves him wrong by snapping a series of pictures, just to show how right he is. but this makes Wang Yeo even more sad for some reason! why is that! what did he do now?? oh no, he is crying. it’s all Kim Shin’s fault alright? why are you crying??

turns out the Grim Reaper is crying bc he never took a picture with Ji Eun Tak. he never took a picture with her when she was small, never took one with her on her middle school graduation day even, nor on the first day of high school. he has lost so much of her time already. and he never hugged her. and she will be gone soon. to uni. to work. to marry. to die. and.. sure, he will probably see her after that too, he trained her all her life for that sole purpose. but what if she doesn’t want to be like him? he doubts she’ll ever commit a crime so heinous to make her turn into a Grim Reaper herself, so she surely will go to heaven and he will lose her forever.

Kim Shin promises him they will make every second count. he tells him this is just Ji Eun Tak’s first life and that she is probably one of those poor souls fated to be plaugued by grief each and every reincarnation: she will need a family in the next one too. Wang Yeo is still unsure about it, but he agrees to wait it out.

they start small. they gift the camera to Ji Eun Tak and she insists to take a picture with both of them. she has never been so close to her dad! this is great! she is so happy she could die right there and then! her papa is more wary about this, but as he allows her to touch him to get in frame.. he realizes the Goblin was right: he cannot see Ji Eun Tak’s past life, so that means this is only her first one. he glances over at Kim Shin and decides to trust him with this, with this family of theirs for all of his daughter’s lifetimes.

more things are left unsolved. the Goblin doesn’t reveal the purpose of the sword despite the pain, which is cause of friction between the two men and it will cause some troubles as they progress in their relationship. Ji Eun Tak avoids the subject of the sword with both of them, but still plans to take it off (not knowing what it actually means). Sunny and Wang Yeo regain some of their memories but decide to share a comfortable friendship despite their common regrets about their past life together. Ji Eun Tak is still followed by death at every turn and her dads will struggle to keep her safe.

but for the time being, for the time it takes for them to smile brightly at the camera, none of that matters.

only the three of them do.

The prevalence of male character feminization is really high in the ST fandom and I’m not sure how to feel about it. It can’t just be the hanky thing (that costume designer has no idea what they’ve unleashed!) and I understand that it’s a kink and I’m not going to shame that. But as you say, it seeps into lots of fics where it’s like people think that’s how a bottom acts.

I wondered if it was the huge influx of tik tok teens that came with S4, who might (MIGHT) be eager to just run with their own thoughts rather than following canon? I mean, a small but significant proportion of Steddie fans readily admit haven’t even watched previous seasons. A couple of authors have even said they hadn’t watched the show at all, and only know it from tik tok. Now, they’re allowed to be in the fandom. All are welcome. It’s just an interesting phenomenon. It would explain some of the poor grammar in some fics. I’m not talking all fics/all young authors, some of them are brilliant. But with dialogue, some seem to think you put a period wherever a comma would normally go, and that’s something I’ve never seen in any other fandom. And then there’s your/your, the past tense of to lie/to lay, peek/peak/pique, queue/cue, bear/bare…I could go on for ages.

But that’s beside the point. Back to feminization: another consideration is the fact that many authors write their favorite characters as a self insert of sorts. Not just fanfic authors, either: Stephen King does it all the time, and other authors too. So that means some (again, not all) female authors will write Steve (it’s usually Steve, let’s be honest here) that way because they want him to be loved the way they want to be loved, whether that involves kink or not.

I’m not a fan of it, personally. I like Steve how he is in canon, and a lot of traditionally ‘feminine’ tropes don’t fit him. When he’s written as a coy or coquettish, or someone who cries all the time, for example, it’s not to my taste. Kinda throws me out of the story, tbh. But it clearly is appealing to lots of other people.

That’s not to say that Steve doesn’t have some ‘female’ traits. I find the babygirl Steve meme as funny as anyone else, and of course he has been given the reluctant babysitter role. In S3 he was so prettily styled it was crazy, and he was the one receiving creepy facial caresses from the Russian general when any other show would have had that happen to Robin. But he can be written as he is in canon - that same pretty boy who’s also a jock, who can take a punch like a champ, is an adorable doofus and a recklessly courageous protector - and still be a bottom.

I also have no idea where it really comes from. However, the feminization for the purpose of making one character in a mlm gay relationship 'the man' of the relationship and the other 'the woman' of the relationship is a widespread issue across most fandom spaces tbh, and I know that everytime it comes up its just cycled discourse that's been talked to death - but the fact of the matter is that gay men in fandom spaces have repeatedly told us that it's harmful. There is a tasteful way to have Steve (or Eddie or whoever) explore a more feme gender expression, but it becomes very clear in fic when the feminization is being used as a way to fit a gay relationship into heteronormative gender-roles and/or fetishize the pairing. It is all very "so who wears the pants in this relationship?" imo - which really sucks. A metalhead nerd and a prom king jock can be in a relationship with each other without having to sacrifice the masculine aspects of their personalities. It is so rare in gay relationships for one person to always be the bottom or always be the top and sometimes the top is the tiny femme one and the bottom is the big masculine one. And sometimes neither has any particularly femme qualities and sometimes neither have any particularly masc qualities.

Also, on another barely related note - what is with people exaggerating their heights to fit this idea, one of the first indicators I have for "this fic might not be for me" is if one of them is suddenly towering over the other despite the fact that Joe Keery/Steve is just barely an inch taller than Joe Quinn/Eddie?? Idk if that's just a personal preference thing, and I don't always hate it but it's another thing that I feel sometimes gets used to enforce het-gender roles.

IDK if my points came across all that clearly, but the issue isn't necessarily "Stop Babygirl-ifying Steve" so much as it is "Stop Babygirl-ifying Steve in a way that's fetishizing gay men" and that can get kind of lost in the discourse I think - imo it's pretty easy to pick out when it's done well and when it's done harmfully and everyone can read what they want to but I personally am going to try and stay away from the latter.

I don't really ship in Boruto, but I DO HAVE TO SAY, I find Kawaki and Sumire to be quite cute and very compatible given their personalities and backgrounds. I feel like the series has been pushing their interactions lately in both the anime and the manga so I'm curious where they'll take it, IF they'll even take it there

Mitsuki has a big fat crush on Boruto but I don't think it's reciprocated and Boruto just considers him a really good friend, but honestly I don't think Mitsuki minds. (kind of like how I view Gaara and Naruto, like Gaara is just happy if Naruto is happy. Mitsuki is happy if Boruto is happy. Depends really! Sometimes I'll go through and correct once, and sometimes I will go through like 14 times in one day!

I have! I will upload it again sometime but like,,,,, the person I had made it for in an AO3 fest basically fucked off and me removing it was me going "nah fuck this,,,, it ain't yours anymore!!!"

I have done them! I think they're nice! I do not like long term collaboration projects but for a oneshot, yes!

@glove23 - I look up to this fic writer so much! They have been battling depression and anxiety, and the complexities of their ADHD, for such a long time and whenever they post something,,, I get so excited! I'm really proud of them! It's hard enough for me to write on a bad mental health day, and I know the struggle they go through, and it's INCREDIBLE to see what they can do! They have been writing since they were young and it really shows how much they love writing and how hard they work on getting the characterization and dialogue to be spot on! Obsessed with their work! (AO3)

You know what,,, I was just discussing the psychology of why noncon fic is so popular on AO3 (and I have written it before and to my surprise IT GETS THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF VIEWS) and,,, I think the key components to answering this question is understanding that 1) AO3 allows noncon fic to exist therefore it's a dumping ground and 2) rape culture is so embedded into US-centric society especially and 3) there's a lot of traumatized people on AO3 and likely creating noncon to process what happened to them and 4) it's a taboo subject and humanity has been drawn to and obsessed with what is taboo since forever,,,, and tbh the taboo is fascinating to me! It does draw me in! I have written for it and I've read it, and I think it's important to ask questions and examine why we do this!

35) Would you ever kill off a canon character?

HELL YEAH. ABSOLUTELY. I HAVE DONE IT BEFORE AND I'LL DO IT AGAIN!! I prefer more "oh my god they're dead--OH! now they're alive! yayyyyy!" over permanent character death

AO3. AO3 is queen. I'm not gonna badmouth FFN and Wattpad in terms of people who go there because that's your business however FFN and Wattpad are largely restrictive and mainstream corporate owned areas of interest that don't give a single shit about their users.

NOTP: Jenny/Tugger beyond the "he likes older women" jokes is not really my cup of tea. Munk/Jenny is another one I can't really get behind for reasons previously stated.

MEHTP (A ship you don't hate but don't ship either, you just find it ok): Jenny/Bustopher is cute, but it's not really something I'm interested in (like they definitely flirt but I don't think it's much more serious than that).

I find Skimble/Jenny to be kinda...meh on my front. Like I *like* the idea, it's very sweet, I used to like it more, but I find that it's very...standard? At least in fandom, anyway. Very plain oatmeal heteronormative (if I can throw a buzzword around), if you will. Like she's the mom cat and Skimble is the dad cat - of course they're paired together. And...that's usually it. I find that most of the fandom at large (particularly the older fandom) sort of just...leaves them at that and don't go in any depth otherwise. They're just there to be parents and make the general parental commentary. (I have that complaint in general about how the older cats are treated in fandom, but this is not the time for a half baked and repetitive rant from yours truly)

Rarepair: The idea of Jenny/Grizabella as a past thing is an interesting one I've seen tossed around a few times (Though I'm usually more on the "Grizabella is elderly rather than middle aged or adult" train personally), and Italian Tour press videos seemed to like it too, lol. So I could get behind that!

Cassandra:

OTP: Probably Bombacass is the closest thing I have to an OTP for her! It's one of the only things for her I really actively ship and like to read about, anyway. 

The other one is Tugger/Cassandra - I have a big soft spot for Tugger/Cassandra. Couldn’t tell you why, I just do. 

I can get behind Cassandra/Tugger/Bomba too, tbh. 

Otherwise I generally am not interested in Cassandra romances because I don't particularly think *she's* super interested in romance.

BROTP: Cassandra and the Psychic twins, Cassandra and Misto and Cassandra and Hathor come to mind! Idk I see them as being friendly with one another - or at least as friendly with other cats as Cassandra can be. Protective - yes. Soft and mushy - not really.

I also think she has a soft spot for Tumble and Jemima/Silly but I couldn't tell you why.

NOTP: Don't have a ship that I actively dislike/can't stand to see for Cass! Just mostly meh. As you will see momentarily...

MEHTP (A ship you don't hate but don't ship either, you just find it ok): Munkustrap/Cassandra is meh, Demeter/Cassandra is also pretty meh. Tantomile/Cassandra seems sweet, but not really my thing. And I can see why people ship these things, absolutely, just kinda average on my end.

And since we're all going to die, there's one more secret I feel I have to share with you: I did not care for Alonzo/Cassandra.

(I'm going to be serious for a second and say in all honesty there's nothing wrong with London! Alonzo/Cassandra and I'm happy if you enjoy the ship! How I feel about this character:

She fightin’ ms calhoun for the love of my life role. I mean...she’s goddamn perfection. She has such a warm heart it makes me fucking weak..

All the people I ship romantically with this character:

Alex, Rita, and honestly...don’t come for me for this (tbh, it’s already in one of my stories and y’all love it) Liz Donnelly. She also totally went out on that date with Chester just to get the free meal lol.

My non romantic OTP for this character:

Huang and Melinda. Either of them with Casey is a super underrated pairing, esp when they’re working together on a case. The only time Melinda and Casey aren’t clicking is in Cold when Melinda says she won’t risk her job for lab results. And Huang is simply a wlw mlm solidarity with Casey!

My unpopular opinion about this character:

She’s the best ADA the team’s ever had. Yes, Alex was awesome, yes Barba is sassy AF and has great remarks and suspenders, BUT HEAR ME OUT. Casey knows what it’s like to truly work her way to the top, she definitely takes cases more personally than Barba does (alex does every so often, certain ones REALLY get to her) but Casey is the best with the victims, she’s the best and pushing to the extreme to get justice (she nearly lost her license i mean...come on...i mean...she did lose it...lol). She indicts the ENTIRE US army for rape, she asks judge Taft to step down from a case, she constantly battles with Donnelly for what she believes is right. The entire Picard case she’s doing what she believes is right, even if that means the perp technically walks, because she’s an advocate for mental health. I could go on for ages, but I’ll stop now. Lol. I believe that a lot of people are tainted when it comes to Casey because she replaced Alex who was the first long term Ada svu fans saw (if you watched it in order lol) and they loved her and didn’t want to see her gone. Much like everyone hates Stone....

One thing I wish would have happened/had happened with this character in canon:

Just...bring her back. She was there in s13, and then just fucking vanishes. She had the big fancy office, she was clearly the most senior Ada (also her win rate is in the 70 percentile, she’s clearly good at her job) like, all I needed was a “who’re you?” “You’re new Ada, novak got transferred to homicide” LIKE THAT WOULD’VE BEEN ENOUGH of a closure for me. It just pisses me off when long term characters disappear for no reason and are never mentioned again. I would LOVE for Casey to pop back up as bureau chief or as a defence attorney.(but also give her a wife lol)

A headcanon fact:

Spurring from something Diane said in an interview once, Casey was a virgin til her like, mid twenties, meaning that she definitely didn’t realize she was bi/gay until her early/mid 30’s. She had her whole relationship with Charlie and because it was so horribly ending, she stayed way from men/dating/sex afterwards. I’m thinking that canon wise, she’d be bi, and maybe just not realize that like, that was even a *thing* at first, like, she starts to have a crush on someone (alex...) and thinks it’s like a, career/talent crush/she just wants to be her friend, but then catches herself *thinking* and it’s like, a wine fuelled conversation with Liz on a girls night that Casey’s all “i dont think I’m gay but i want alex to sit on my face” and Liz is all “oh sweetheart...lets discuss this” and Casey comes to terms with her sexuality. Pls she’s canologically catholic, so that’d be another hurdle to get over before she could really let her gayness shine.

I don’t have a lot of thoughts about them? they’re relatively undeveloped characters. they don’t make me sad til later

the whole xy situation in yi city is still really upsetting to me so I’m going to just say he had weird vibes. borderline flirting but also extremely creepy

so personally my preferred interpretation of the censorship is that gay people are so widely accepted that it’s not really worth specifically mentioning but obviously that doesn’t really explain everything or work in all situations. like maybe it depends on the clan, or the region or the person. and even people who want to be supportive end up making assumptions (like yanli telling wwx he’d marry a pretty girl after he’d met lwj. lol)

and the fact that so much is unspoken as the relationship develops kind of points to how bad the situation is and how neither of them are able to get into a relationship in that kind of environment

I know it’s due to censorship but honest to god when paired with their actions and arcs it ends up making them both look just really respectful and careful of each other’s boundaries (lwj not wanting to emulate his father while wwx doesn’t want to step over any lines with someone who isn’t ready for that) which is an interpretation I really really love

anyway the fact that xy is so heavily implied to be mlm makes me so mad. I would have rather he was homophobic in all honesty yi city is a nightmare. also he’s not attractive? the actor is fine but ppl who think he as a character is hot weird me out

nmj is crying at the end of the episode. I think not only because his trust in MY has been betrayed and his clan is being ground under the heel of the wens but because he must have known that commanding officer personally. that was probably one of his brothers. — the captains of rival college sports teams : i’d like play the hockey captain, and i imagine the other team being something like soccer / american football / lacrosse. a difference in captaincy approaches a bonus !!

— pretty much any teammates to lovers plot : the offensive & defensive defenseman pairing ; center and his winger ; the goalie and his protective defenseman ; the captain and his alternative ; the co-rookies ( they entered the nhl at the same time and are closely bonded because of that ) ; mentor & mentee ( i don’t like big age differences, but i see this as maybe a sophomore who took a freshman under his wing )

— rivals to lovers : the way i see it they were rivals since they were quite young until one gets traded to the same team as the other and they learn to play together. bonus for hating each other guts and yet playing like magic together. the Tension™. pretty open tho tbh.

— in GENERAL, i love writing “soft / gentle jocks” and love even more writing across from rougher characters !!

note for those who write hockey muses: i prefer to write across hockey muses with muns who have some knowledge of hockey. preferably some irl knowledge not just from che/ck please. it doesn’t have to be a lot, promise. just a little is definitely helpful !! that being said, i absolutely don’t need to write across from another hockey muse and would love to explore other plots !!

note 2: i do tend to gravitate toward male muses and mlm ships, but that is not COMPLETELY set in stone — especially if we vibe.

Style (Kyle/Stan); the otp, just… i have millions of reasons i ship them but the most important is… nothing sp related makes me more happy than Stan and Kyle’s bond; also their relationship is very wholesome but more complicated than most people see, i could speak hours about them

Kyman (Eric/Kyle); the second best ship; their relationship is everything, hilarious, tragic, complex and funny as hell; same as style, basically

anyway i actually like style’s fandom way more than kyman’s, and this is one of the reasons i prefer kyle paired with stan

Kenman (Kenny/Eric)

Bunny (Kenny/Butters)

Buttman (Eric/Butters)

they are all great, so i treat them the same, Cartman, Butters and Kenny are so incredibly differents but i can see why they still are “connected”, i mean those three have a long story of abuses and that’s why they are all foil to each others, their dynamics are just very interesting and TBH i feel the show doesn’t explor them like they could

tier 2) crack ships but if they interacted (more) they would be awesome

Rebe (Bebe/Red); they appear in together a lot and seems to be good friends, i’m not into bendy and i needed a wlw ship

Bravin (Bradley Biggle/Kevin Stoley); those two are probably best friends that bonded over being mega nerds; the reason i ships them is Kevin is a huge sci-fi fan… and Bradley is a alien; they are perfect together!

Kendy (Kenny/Wendy) Wendy is a feminist and Kenny really needs some emancipation in his life; i don’t know if they would always agree, but they are some of the most chill people in town and they would make a very nice couple

Sturald (Stuart/Gerald), yeah i’m one of the five people in the fandom that ships adults; but i just couldn’t not ship them, i mean they used to be best friends, so friends they built a A WHOLE HOUSE together, but then they followed differents roads, Stuart is now a unhappily married drunkard that is still salty his friends (cough Randy and Gerald) live better than him and left him behind; while Gerald is unhappily married piece of crap with tons of repressed frustrations, very tragic, i like it, anyway it’s nice to say they are at least friends nowdays

(and it’s even more tragic of you think Stan and Kyle would probably become like that if they would ever stop being friends, with Stan being a salty drunkard and Kyle as repressed asshole)

Scutters (Butters/Scott); they are more of BROTP, but you have seen they interactions, they are darn wholesome, and i could see them becoming together the school thots when they get older lol

any ships with a main character and secondary/one-shot one like Gary Harrison, Thomas the kid with tourette, Bradley the bicurious kid ecc, some favorites are Thomas/Craig, Thomas/Kyle, David/Kyle, Bradley/Marjorine

tier 3: ship with a good number of decent interactions:

every married couple; they are ok, like many of them are disastrous parents but as couples they look very happy together; the only i don’t like are Stuart/Carol (probably the worst marriage in town) and Gerald/Sheila (they look kyman-gone-wrong lmao), Randy/Sharon was ok but Randy gaslighting Sharon in s22 was just Horrid, poor Sharon

Candy (Eric/Wendy); they were very good couple with tons of potential, and it’s a big waste M&T didn’t used that dynamic again, in “Chef goes nanners” they were so cute and funny and it tells very much they are the hetero ship with more content, people loved Candy and they deserved better, this is one of the many reasons i don’t like the modern Wendy/Cartman conflict

unrelated note but i love Wendyl/Erica, the only defect is they are both tops

Stendy (Randy/Stephen); they are the most prominent dads in the series and some of my favorite adults but they don’t have a definite relationship

i think they have a great potential, their interactions are generally very funny (my fave is “About last nignt”) and i feel they have a lot in common, they are both two manchildren with very complicated marriages, they love their wifes but they treat them more as best friends (Randy literally says this in “Murder Porn”) and they are both unable to understand their sons (even tho this is every dad in SP)
