listen I don’t tend to think much about celeb gossip. but watching Michelle go from a pretty decent, if bland, background character to suddenly dating her couple’s therapist, leading to an implication of emotional cheating before her and Ted divorced… okay. are we totally sure that this has nothing to do with somebody’s incredibly public and messy breakup in real life

actually I should probably mention over on this side of the internet, as it is an all-consuming machine inside of me now and whatever, that I am writing a book again, after a decade-long break to become a completely different person, which was apparently the secret ingredient??? for some reason the ability to actually work on this thing that's been simmering away pretty quietly for two years was kicked out of me by trigun, even though this story is absolutely nothing like trigun except that there's a bunch of assholes doing permanent roadtrips with each other (a feature of many if not most of my favourite types of stories so that barely counts) and it's got my take* on the sad asshole chainsmoker who shoots stuff archetype in it but this one's a nonbinary butch who is still predictably hurling themself face-first onto the bed of nails of gay yearning.

actually it's about a heist gone horribly wrong and how you survive under conditions of extreme late capitalism and corporatocracy in space (you do crimes about it, mostly) and what happens when you're a mess with a bad personality desperately in love with your dead best friend but also really angry at how you're discovering she lied to you a lot so you hate-fuck her nemesis about it but her nemesis was also in love with her so like, now it's weird. you don't catch feelings about it though. the fuck.

alternately, a tight-knit heist crew, contracted by a rival company to steal technology from a major corporation for purposes of sabotage, finds themselves adrift when the heist goes tits up and their leader is killed. still under contract to finish the job, they are forced to partner with the detective who's spent years trying to take them down in an increasingly personal cat-and-mouse game, while also reckoning with the hole their leader's death has left in the family and team dynamic, and with the lies she left behind her.

also it's about cities and workers' rights and the corporatisation of everything, because, have you met me. and there's a b-plot that rowan did to me by accident where saul goodman falls in love with like, manic pixie dreamboy space elf char aznable. don't look at me like that.

anyway I'm doing a lot of reading about this (it's not a research-dependent book but I do want to ground it and also it's an excuse to learn even more about all of the things I am most interested in and also angry about experiencing in real life about cities and capitalism and industry AND ALSO, I, not a detail-worldbuilder, gotta build a bunch of whole-ass cities and planets and I want to HAVE A GOOD TIME ABOUT IT and make weird exciting future space shit!) and will probably do more posting about it because it is becoming My Life. which feels nice! honestly! the last time this happened was a decade ago and let me tell you that book did not have a viable and complete plot!

decided to post a lil' smth since its been awhile.. this isn't a full fic more like a senario i thought of

probably shdve put this part in front first but what i wrote below the cut does involve the kaeluc ship (i won't post too much of this ship though i wanted to maybe post this here)

diluc didnt know what to get kaeya for valentines day so was freaking out. then he remembers how good kaeya smells, and decided that he would get some beautiful flowers for kaeya, some nice feathery light purple ones.

he painstakingly goes to his house's nearby forest to pluck some before going on the valentines date. at the outdoor restaurant, kaeya notices diluc running towards him, holding something within crumpled newspapers.

"sorry im late k- kaeya.. i wantedto pick these for you! happy valentines day-"

diluc thursts the bouquet of flowers into kaeyas face, smiling as he waited for a reply.

kaeyas nose starts twitching as the mere sight of the feathery plant. despite being together with diluc for a few months, he had never before told his boyfriend that he was quite allergic to most flowers.

he was about to open his mouty to tell diluc, but the smile on the others face stopped him. he knew diluc would be heartbroken if he knew he had brought kaeya suffering, so kaeya stayed silent.

'they.. they are beautiful- just like the one who picked them for me--'

the rest of the dinner went well for diluc, not noticing that kaeya was gritting his teeth, trying not to let his nose run, ducking under the table every few minutes to 'tie his shoelace'

it was only when the wind picked up (outdoor restaurant), blowing pollen off the feathery flowers into kaeyas face that he couldn't take it anymore.

'e- hH! ..ehxcuse me..'

kaeya runs from the table, leaving diluc confused.

kaeya runs as quick as he can, eyes watering and nose leaking freely. he was a mess, he couldn't see it, but he could feel it. diluc probably thought he was trying to ruin the date. it had been difficult to get diluc to agree to take him out since his boyfriend was always so shy.

and how he has ruined it..

leaning against the concrete wall, kaeyas breath hitches-

'hH- snf.. hAH- ugh.. snf-!!'

great. it was stuc-

'hAH- sNgXxt!! heH.. zZchiw!!'

kaeya let out a few more desperate sneezes before he flipped the sleeve of his shirt inside out, wipping his nose and flipping it back.

there was a damp spot on his sleeve, but he hoped diluc won't notice..

returning to the table, kaeya could feel his nose flaring as the flowers came into view.

"kaeya.. is everything okay..?" diluc asked shyly as his fingers played with the soft feathery petals of the flower.

'.. nothing at all dear.. i just.. needed to use the bathroom..'

it was a lie and kaeya knew it. what more, he knew that diluc knew it was a lie. he wasn't easy to read for most people, but kaeya knew diluc had the weird ability to see right through him.

"okay then.." diluc sighs, placing the flowers back onto the table, bringing the damned item nearer to kaeyas sensitive nose.

'hH- its.. really n- Hh!! .. no issue luc i.. i.. hH- hah.. NgxXt!! heh- ZznXght!! .. im fine..'

dilucs eyes suddenly snapped to kaeya, focusing intently on the other.

kaeya felt himself shift uncomfortably under dilucs glare. he knew that he'd been seen right through he.. he-

"you don't have to stifle in front of me you know?"

'what?'

diluc inched over to kaeyas side of the table, grabbing kaeyas hand and wrapping himself around it. diluc rested his head against kaeyas arm, right on the spot that was still slightly damp.

'..luc.. m- move.. i.. i needa..'

despite the warning, diluc stayed put where he was.

left with no other choice, kaeya pressed his free hand against the base of his nose, letting out a fit of restrained itchy sneezes. light spray had unfortunately managed to escape from his clenched teeth, landing gracefully on dilucs cheek.

unlike himself, diluc intertwined his fingers with kaeyas, letting out a sound akin to that of a purring cat as he snuggled deeper into kaeyas chest.

"happy valentines day kae.. you just gave me the best present i could ever ask for.."

6. favorite villain

kai winn is definitely the most fascinating to me from a writing standpoint (woman who turns to evil bc her gods abandoned her bc they exist outside of linear time and knew she'd turn evil eventually; oroborous of villainy) but she also makes my skin crawl in a very specific ex-catholic way on a level that no other star trek villain has even come close to making me uncomfortable so idk if i can count her as a favorite. im trying to pick like. specific people rather than being like "the romulans heehee" so um. - holo-moriarty from tng (he Just wanted to leave the holodeck :C) - degra from ent (the guy who created the xindi weapon) - im trying so desperately to think of an evil woman but the problem is star trek is particularly bad at writing evil women in a not weird overly sexual way. uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh - i can feel im forgetting people i like aaaaa

Is it weird that I legitimately love Hubert but can't stand Edelgard? I think it comes down to the fact that Hubert's at the very least transparent about being a shitty person and revels in it, while Edelgard comes off as a narcissist with a messiah complex and the game goes out of its way to kiss her ass. Though to be fair, I do think Edel's crazy stans (not fans) have kinda made me despise her as a "guilt by association" kind of thing.

Not really! For as much as I personally find Hubert to be a fairly sad character given his circumstances the actual guy himself is just a treat to watch go about. Unabashedly evil with no real attempts made to even, like, kinda hide it, watching someone so comfortable in their skin is rarely not at least somewhat entertaining.

Edelgard, in contrast, can fail to hit that similar satisfaction because - and I say this as someone who does like Edelgard - her constant self-pitying tirades can get more than a little annoying to keep having to listen through when we know that she doesn’t really give a shit for the people she says she feels guilt over. She never makes any attempt to protect them at any point of the story, and in fact actively endangers them multiple times, but I’m supposed to feel bad for her because she always whines about how hard it is to let innocent people die/get killed/otherwise get fucked for her own goals. If she ever, at like literally any point of 3H, made an effort to protect her citizens - you know, that thing that Dimitri, Claude, and Rhea do? - then these wouldn’t be so bad, but because she doesn’t (and as mentioned instead does the opposite) it comes off as extremely disingenuous and makes her come across as as very self-important (which she is tbf). Compared to Hubert’s more simple but more straight-forward and, well, honest characterization, Edelgard can very easily be seen as kinda... annoying, at times.

But ohhhh yeah, her stans are another thing entirely. Fuckin’ yikes dude, imagine saying shit like “I would never want to be ruled by someone whose a different race than me” and “Edelgard’s not racist she just happens to hate every person of [x] race that she’s ever met” and not realizing how uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh questionable that phrasing is, for example. They’re really out there saying anything!!

i know i want to have twoface/harvey and bruce be weird ex almosts from college, which causes a lot of strife. 

scarecrow and harley know each other and are friendly!! 

harley and deadshot hook up during suicide squad activities (harley would be removed from the team after her first mission via Bruce Wayne, but she does end up being forced into it). also im channeling assault on arkham vibes with their dynamic. he canot rly stand her but isnt actually cruel to her, and she is mainly just using him but feels affectionate towards him.

i have not thought abt how the dynamic would work storywise but i desperately want killer croc and harley to be friends. i will reflect on this

black mask is super important for dinahs story!! hes like. her main villain : (

red hood is very important in my story!!! harley and ivy take him in after the joker kills him, and ivy revives him with the powers of the green, causing him to be connected to it as well (though he has no control over it and the things can do are very weak/not relevant to him skillset wise). hes basically harley and ivys gay son dkfgndkf, he views them as his parental figures over bruce, and while this is mainly to Spite bruce, he really does trust and care for them. more ivy than harley bc .. harley does some fuck shit. but he cares for harley too

heres some chronological relationship charts ft. birds of prey and gotham city sirens : )

(basically during the original bop, babs and dinah start it, then renee and helena join later, babs n dinah have a very awkward dynamic with helena bc shes gay and has never rly seen Other gay ppl, and barbara is very hostile and takes her staring at them as her being homophobic so. its not GREAT!!!)

(a while after the birds break up, harley and helena end up working together and end up hooking up a few times, its kinda weird, kinda tender, and its mainly just harley trying her best try and give helena a little support which is at the current time pretty uncharacteristic for her)

(the sirens are together at the same time as harley/helena hookups, this is the longest of harleys joker free periods so its when shes at her healthiest, though she is clearly still struggling)

(this is a massive jump in the plot but. its for the relationship charts. we skip past a huge arc ft harley/ivy getting together, and becoming safe and settled with each other. harley and dinah meet up and begin a gay little fwb relationship post bop events , bop events are similar to in the movie but i did take my own spin on them, so theyre. also different ! ) ((also also just 2 be clear, while ivy was jealous of helena, that was bc she wanted the intimacy and love harley was giving her. now that they are in a committed and healthy relationship, ivy is ok with harley having certain other partners that theyve discussed n agreed on! its very much something they talk about unlike what the comics show :/ ))

(babs ends up initiating the birds of prey’s comeback. dinah and helena are both very unsure abt it bc uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh the last time they worked together ended. VERY BADLY!!!! which i will release in more detail Soon. but. they end up agreeing and actually do form a rly good cohesive team and despite the awkwardness of their dynamic get a lot of good stuff done!)

I'm watching Beast Wars again for no reason and so you all have to hear me talk about it.

If I was personally given Rights I would first use them to erase Cheetors weird crush on Blackarachnia because it literally adds nothing to the plot or the characters. Instead I'd take full advantage of my personal headcanon and make Cheetor desperately want a big sister because I am always a slut for Found Family. Like, that scene with Una ?"Aw, she wants to be you!" Like c'mon viewing him reaching out to Blackarachnia because he desperately wants some semblance of a relationship is a lot more wholesome when it isn't romantically coded. Cheetor is Lonely, so horribly lonely, and so young seeming in comparison to the rest of the cast. He hasn't lost that love for the stars or spiraled into cynicism just yet, and I would much rather explore the ways he tries to reach out to his bitter, jaded teammates. And maybe he's left wanting, maybe he gets tired of being lonely, and maybe he fucks up trying to be like them because "he tried to prove himself." And maybe that scene where Optimus, Silverbolt, and Rattrap reach out to him has a little more weight because it isn’t just Cheetor trying to be an adult, but a Cheetor that tried to be them and post Feral Cheetor has real fucking consequences and isn't just a cool upgrade.

I want that episode where Rattrap finds out they spat on Dinobot’s memory by making him into a "dishonorable" clone and goes ballistic. I want him to find the memories Dinobot stowed away and be conflicted. Is it Dinobot without the spark? Could he live with only a shade? Would Dinobot even want that? I want him to try and fail and be utterly distraught over the whole damn thing. I want him to be angry every time he sees Dinobot 2. I want Rhinox to try and fail to comfort him. I want Cheetor to sit with him, neither speaking but both knowing they're in this fucked up mess together now. CONSEQUENCES. WHERE ARE THEY. GIVE THEM TO ME.

I also just really want Blackarachnia to have closer bonds with the team??? Idk, I'm vibin well enough with her and Silverbolt but tbh I'd really just like her to have an episode where she's hanging out with someone else and Isn’t A Complete Rude Person. I think that's something I actually really vibed with in Beast Machines (although my memory there is still pretty fuzzy, I'll probably have to rewatch that to say for sure) Blackarachnia could actually work with the team in a friendly and occasionally sweet way. She was capable of a blunt and angry sort of kindness. Should that happen right away? Nah of course not, she needs to get comfy with her shiny new Dumbfuck Teammates. But there’s no real Solid Connections there other than Silverbolt, which is purely romantic. (Once again I emphasize Cheetor and Found Family)

Rhinox just needs more in general. If I had to guess the reason he was made a villain in beast machines was because he is only Meh as a Developed character after Blackarachnia shows up and takes over tech wise, not to mention rattrap is also pretty damn techy when he wants to be.(it was also probably to increase tension since his whole deal is being diplomatic but that's a separate thing) Sort of an issue when you make them scientists but don't have them specialize in anything and, more importantly, have a weakness in anything. If your character is simply the backup scientist when the other one is out of commission u gotta problem. Rhinox is stagnant personality wise, I can’t honestly say anything about him changes in the whole series. He has functionally gained nothing from this perilous journey, no real trauma, no bonds he didn't already have with the team, not even an upgrade in form. Isn’t rattrap supposed to be his best friend???? SHOW ME MORE THEN. Seriously if this show had let me have Rights I’m not saying I wouldn’t have loved if we had actually Really Dug In to a character arc or something about Rattrap and the concept of Honor vs Loyalty but that’s exactly what I’m saying lets talk about that. Season One Rattrap they played with this a little (After the whole early on “I would not send someone to do something I would not do myself” and “double agent rattrap” WHICH NO ONE WOULD EVER BELIEVE IF THAT HAPPENED ANY LATER THAN IT DID SINCE RATTRAP IS SO ANTIPRED) and the whole Dinobot thing really wedged it in (”But at least you know where he stands”) AND THEN FROM MY SHODDY MEMORIES OF BEAST MACHINES ITS PLAYED WITH EVEN MORE WHEN HE FUCKING GOES TO MEGATRON BECAUSE EVERYONE WAS BEING A LITTLE BITCH TO HIM 

Where was I going with this? uhhhhhhhhhhhhh oh yeah LISTEN Rattrap and his morals are Very Fascinating and I really wished there was more about that. Like, he gives no shits about Doing What’s Right or Being A Good Person, but he rewards friendship and loyalty and not getting him killed by miles. And despite his Hatefest Dinobot he was actually really... shocked? Offended??? about Dinobot handing over the disc because you’re an asshole but you’re also our asshole what fuckery is this did all our arguments mean nothing to you. And then attempting to join Megatron in BM because he might be Evil and it might be Bad Moral Conduct but fuck morals his teammates were being shitty friends. Is that petty of him? Maybe, but if the maximals had been evil but still genuinely kind and caring towards Rattrap I don’t believe he would ever leave for a second, not for all the Morals or Its The Right Thing To Do in the world. And that’s why darkfics that still use Found Family are the best! The End.

All the characters would actually be the size of their animals because goddamit I want a tiny Rattrap that has to be carried around by the others while he screeches indignantly. Or at the very least make him just a little smaller. Just a bit. And maybe they all have a big Sleep Pile. I like physical affection and cuddling and things no I don't care if they're robots no I don’t take criticism. Dinobot would have feathers fight me.

Optimus has died, been tortured, and painfully grew to like 3 times his size why doesn’t he have ptsd someone give him a hug.

Could we have waited for Airrazor and Tigatron to get kidnapped???? We should have gotten more for them. Let me see them more often. LISTEN THEY’RE VERY CUTE I LOVE THEM SHUT UP.

Silverbolt is fun, but suffers from the same problem as Blackarachnia where all you really remember about them Relationship wise is the one they have with each other. Who does Silverbolt like best among the maximals, who does he like the least? And if I'm erasing that weird Cheetor crush thing then their interactions probably have a lot less tension so... what else do they have.

Depth Charge is an unrepentant asshole and I love him. He is so hostile but it doesn’t stop him from begrudgingly helping out on occasion. He also gave Optimus some backstory??? Like not as much as my greedy Character Loving hands would have wanted but GIVE ME.

Other Stuff:

Nothing will ever be as funny as Optimus being like “Evacuate the base you’re all gonna die” and Rhinox grabbing his fucking plant
