I wanna know how tumblr advertising works bc mine have shifted from “hunting game demonstrating very graphically wolves being shot” to “there are hidden cameras everywhere!! Are you scared?? Here’s an app to find them” and I just think that maybe there’s something nefarious going on in their targeting

#it’s not even really exclusive to tumblr I see it on other platforms too #but like. I knew about predatory algorithms meant to get you to buy stuff #but it just seems like algorithms on major platforms are designed to speed run finding out your triggers and shove them down your throat #or like?? is this a curated experience due to the fact that I have ocd which means I have pretty easy triggers to prey upon #non ocd people do you find yourself being repeatedly shown triggering/upsetting ads/content or is it normal
