Okay I made a post being mad at Mizuki5 that I deleted but I'm honestly glad they handled Mizurui way better than I expected.

They didn't try to make it sound like Rui somehow is doing "so much better" than Mizuki because they are in a way scared of the same thing right now.

Of course for Rui it's a lot less worse and incoming than Mizuki for various reason but I really like the parallel that they're no longer afraid of not being accepted anymore they're just scared of things changing.

I was genuinely scared that it was gonna be Mizuki2 side card levels of trying to make it seem like Rui just suddenly speedrun through his character arc and left Mizuki behind.

Of course part of Mizuki's insecurity in their relationship is Rui is "better" now but he honestly really isn't, it's just that he isn't actively dealing with his fear constantly and he's in a relatively safe space at the moment.

I'm still kinda in pain and depressed that Mizuki5 is so angst heavy but I understand they wanted this to have impact and maybe wanted a rock bottom before we can have Mizuki be better again for tension reasons. I did really want a bittersweet Mizuki event but this is more realistic.
