#i am a huge protagonist fan bc . well many reasons#but largely bc protagonists tend to be wildly suicidal/self-annihilating#and scholomance is so clever bc it gives us el as the protagonist instead of orion instead of her being the antagonist of a worse story#and she carries over a lot of the usual antagonist conceits. including. wanting so badly to live!!#and BECAUSE she wants to live and she wants everyone to live#shes gonna tear this whole fucking thing asunder!!!!#she's basically like if valkyrie cain was written by a woman. or if emily strange was. well ok shes basically like emily strange
