I've been working a bit on my AU There Must Be No More War but not very intensively. There's something interesting I've already written for like May 1999 so like 6 chapters from now so I'd like to get to that. It's a fun story but my heart has never been in this one nearly as much as the others. And the writing & publishing a single chapter at a time thing is not a way I feel like I'm capable of creating quality writing (it's still fun, but it's not the same as my 'real' work). It's a completely different art form from writing and editing a full polished work. Though to be fair I'm not really trying that hard.

I will write more Jegulus because I signed up to co-write a fic for Jeg Big Bang with a friend. About half of it will be written by me and it will probably be somewhat different from my normal style. My other Jegulus fic flopped and only a couple people commented on it so if you want me to know you enjoy a certain thing you must leave a comment to communicate that to me or I will remain unaware. I'm going to keep writing Voldemort/DEs/my OCs, but if you want me to write more of a random Marauders ship then tell me or I won't know.

The question of what you would like me to write is one I'm very open to, but one that's not received well by people when I try to ask and they often just refuse to answer anything but 'write what you want.' I already did write 540k words of what I wanted, with literally every possible second of my time and zero people on earth knowing I was doing it, for longer than I've currently been actively interacting with the fandom. I am very familiar with writing for myself, and I disagree that it's the only desirable way to write. It turns out it's pretty difficult to have a fic find success like KMCB did (and I honestly didn't think anyone would get to the end bc of the length). I'm in an era right now where I feel extremely open to writing with a goal of people interacting with it, so definitely feel free to express to me what you would like to read! If you want more Jegulus (I assume) or have a specific idea for it definitely send me an ask. Or another character, ship, or Voldemort/Bellamort theme

Other than the AU, I've strangely not really been working on any writing for the last like two weeks, which is so weird for me. In that time I have created several drawings, mostly for a fest in about a month. I have two fests I'm making F/F art for.

I think I've posted all this before but... I am working on NMW. I have another fic for my Bellamort fest due mid-July that I definitely need to start soon. I'll have a Jeg Big Bang co-write fic around 20k words posted in like October, I forget. I have several little ideas that may one day appear... in the rewrite barty and reg fight more carmen&richie style. there's more foreshadowing of reg not taking in his meds and him just being an unreliable narrator

basically making jeggy more of a slowburn and adding more of james suffering through regulus' harsh unforgiving pace in the kitchen. i want to make james a little more insufferable. i want james' onesided rivalry to clash with his massive crush. i want james a little unhinged smearing cooling gel on his burn marks and giving reg a deranged smile like, yeah, keep bringing it on, you won't knock me of all people down. i need such insane kitchen angry sexual tension that even barty and evan get secondhand hardons

Lily and Barty (totally platonic though) has developed out of nowhere in my story. I don't outline or plan much, I just write with an end game and major scenes and mind. And IDK where the relationship between these two sprouted from but holy cow, it's there! And I'm writing with canon in mind. They are tiptoeing into the friends zone, but I don't think they will actually ever get there openly. Haters gonna hate, some people might shrug and move on, but someone, somewhere is going to see it. It would be like the Malfoy manor scene when Bella wants Draco to identify Harry and he won't. Barty wouldn't give Lily up either because there is *something* there.

Then think about this (because I'm on a total Barty kick)... What if Barty knew about Jegulus and for reasons backed Regulus up. What if he found out Lily got pregnant, by JAMES, and felt the betrayal Regulus couldn't feel because he was already dead. What if it was one of the things which turned him against the Potter's. So there’s this fic called Crimson River (idk if you’ve heard of it read it) it’s technically a wolfstar & jegulus, but that aside it’s quite a fantastic bit of internal monologue from Aberforth regarding James and Sirius.

“ The bond between James and Sirius is something entirely other. He has never before seen anything that could compare to it. What James and Sirius have doesn’t exist in history, and may never exist again - not just once in a lifetime, but once in any lifetime.  This is not history repeating itself, therefore it is unprecedented. Aberforth had no doubt in his mind that James and Sirius could undergo any form of torture and come out the other side entirely themselves, but he does doubt that they wouldn’t toss everything that they are, and all that they stand for, if it could mean sparing one another any bit of pain.”

i do know the fic!! i think it’s impossible to be in certain fandoms w/o hearing about some fics and this is one of those. the whole thing sounds amazing but it’s just,,,the ships lol (although,,,if i’m hearing it right,,,zar might be…dipping a toe into j/s soon so i need someone to ping me if that happens bc i’d run so fast—i love their entire energy so much my god)

and this really sums it up why bc it’s so, SO accurate for j & s. they have a bond that’s so unique and so codependent, it’s hard to separate where one begins and the other ends. and zar gets it ykno? no matter what romantic ship they might be a part of, the other is an integral part to them and this passage captures it so brilliantly. esp that last bit about enduring anything for their own self but if anything happen to the other, they’d go feral. like, i firmly believe that sirius is a bit broken not because of azkaban but bc he lost james. if for whatever reason (not that it’s possible lol) james was alive & he still ended up going thru 12 years in azkaban, i don’t think he’d be as he was. james’ death is so fundamental to who he is post halloween, it’s just !!!!!! i don’t even have words lol

I found this in my drafts from idk when oops. I'll do it in general for every fandom cause why not.

1. What OTPs in your fandom(s) do you just not get?

If you know me, you know about Wolfstar, but I could add many HP ships (almost all) especially the now popular ones: Jily, Jegulus, like almost all canon ships. HP really fell flat on relationships.

But wait, there's more. One of the oldest pairings that are the reoccurence of me just not getting fan favorite ships is for example FitzSimmons from Agents of SHIELD series. You know that pairing that's writers' favorite and you just know they were meant to be perfect and full of dynamics and everything but they just fall flat because it's obvious and there's too much forced drama around them just for the sake of it and ughh. They should have just put Gemma with Daisy. Then there's Catradora. Enough said. The fans just completely ruined it for me.

Also since I came back to GOT recently, I have never understood will I never understand the hype of Brienne/Tormund. They seem so popular simply because Tormund finds her attractive, but I find his behavior towards her disgusting, to the point of harassment. The only way he talks about her is in a sexual sense and about the children they would make, he doesn't respect her, she's a borderline fetish for him. The fact that I've seen people say *he* would treat her right is laughable. While we're at GOT the whole Targaryen incest thing, I will never understand. Jon/Daenerys, Rhaenerys/Daemon, their popularity unsettles me. Jon and Daenerys were at least close in age, even thought they had the most bland chemistry on screen, at least it wasn't predatory, but Daemon and Rheanyra is just something I'm horrified that it's popular. Confirms once again that if fans find the people attractive they don't hold the characters to the same standards.

In Marvel I don't get most of the ships, I don't know if someone people are just desperate to see certain things that are just not there or...the first thing I think about is Stucky, Stony, Thor/Bruce etc. Even the canon ones are very meh, good thing I don't watch the MCU for romance. It sucks.

Brienne/Tormund, Rhaenyra/Daemon, Catradora, Wolfstar. Almost all are pretty big which like...why...

5. Has fandom ever ruined a pairing for you?

You have not seen fucking insane until you saw Wolfstar and Catradora fans. Those people need fucking therapy and monitored screen time so they can go outside every day because Jesus christ. Chronically online.
