wanderer x reader. inspired by this art!
itâs not often you find yourself so far out of the city, though, you must admit, your time spent aimlessly wandering through vanarana has proven to be just what you neededâan opportunity to clear your head. perhaps you should be heading back soon. the last thing you want to do is worry anyone and despite the serenity youâve been met with, the forest isnât known to be a particularly safe area.Â
just one moment longer.
you hum quietly to yourself, though the tune is carried with the wind, dancing through the air as freely as the cool breeze. thereâs a hill up ahead, and you ponder climbing it as your feet carry you that direction. youâve heard that yelling from heights is considered therapeutic by some and youâve always wanted to give it a shot yourself.
you stray from the path youâve been walking on for who knows how long, the rough dirt beneath your feet traded in for soft grass and plush moss. though, as you approach the foot of the hill, you find your eyebrows pulling together in confusion.
somethingâsomeone, you realizeâis curled up in the grass. a million thoughts pass through your mind in just secondsâis someone hurt, is someone pretending to be hurt, looking to do you harm? though, just as quickly as they had come, the thoughts and uneasiness begin to dissipate, and with just the sight of a hat.
itâs him.
pops of blue and violet against the green of the rainforest are hard to miss and while they catch your eye, whatâs even more captivating is to see the wanderer so⌠defenseless.Â
you take special care to lighten your steps as you continue toward him. his chest rises and falls in a steady rhythm and his lips are parted, quiet breaths pushing past them. heâs asleep, out here in the open like there isnât a danger in the world.
your proximity doesnât seem to stir him, so you take another step and carefully kneel just a couple of feet away from him. you donât think youâve ever seen him up this close before. you certainly never realized how long his eyelashes are, how smooth his skin is. youâre tempted to reach out to touch him, to see if it feels as smooth as it looksâ
all too suddenly, his eyes fly open and his hand darts out to take a hold of your wristâyou didnât even know that you acted on your thoughts.Â
âwhat do you think you're doing?â he asks. his grip on you is firm but far from painful and he makes no move to sit up from his position. his reflexes are enough to tell you that if he thought you were a threat, heâd be able to handle you.
âi could ask you the same thing.â you tug your arm back and, to your surprise, the wanderer lets you go easily. you donât realize it until his hand is gone, but his palm was shockingly warm. âitâs not safe to sleep out here. and i canât imagine itâs very comfortable.â
he finally sits up, stretching his arms above his head and fighting back a yawn. you bite your cheek to stop yourself from smiling at the uncharacteristically cute scene playing out before you. though, as soon as he catches you staring, a frown is etched into the wandererâs features. âwhat do you care?â
itâs a good questionâyou suppose, in the end, your curiosity got the better of you. it doesnât seem like an answer that he would find acceptable, so you simply shrug.
âiâm going to head back now,â you tell him, standing up and patting your thighs. you throw your thumb over your shoulder with a hopeful smile. âwould you like to join me?â
he stands up too, and for a moment you think heâs going to accept your offer, but when he picks his hat up from the ground and places it back on his head, he says, âiâll pass.â
a wave of disappointment washes over you but you hold on tightly to your smile. âsuit yourself.â
you turn on your heel and start the long walk back to sumeru city. the melody you had been humming earlier makes its way back to you and fills the air around you along your footstepsâand another set. you turn to look over your shoulder and find the wanderer a few feet behind you.
you keep walking but address him. âi thought you didnât want to walk together.â
âiâm going in the same direction, thatâs all.â his voice, mildly annoyed, drifts up from behind you.
you donât question him, content to continue your humming.Â
the entire way back, you hear the wandererâs footsteps just a short distance behind you.
#aahhhh. . . so. . . scarasu coded. . . yeah :3#but its less shameless this time hehe c:#i have lots a mini lore thoughts that are manifesting in the form of drabbles#so#perhaps expect more of these#perhaps#scaramouche x reader#wanderer x reader#genshin impact x reader

Flora/Nina P/C supports
[Ok so I was looking up Ninaâs supports for reference like I do for all of these, and I got irritated. Literally two of her supports do not mention her âobsessionâ in the C support. ONLY. TWO. (Caeldori and Velouria) Naturally, this includes the P/C template. So I decided to spite her supports and put her shipping as far on the backburner as possible. I hope I donât get accused of taking her out of character but I hate when a character gets pigeonholed to one of their traits. (You know who I mean). So I hope you like this! She really is like her mom~]
C support:
Nina: Youâre mine now, little bunnyâŚ.
*arrow firing sound*
Yes! Frozen arrows are the best!
Hunters would be so much better like this.
Flora: Nina?
Nina: Mother!
Donât surprise me like that!
What are you even doing out here? Youâre a maid!
Flora: I was looking for you, dear.
I heard you went out hunting.
Itâs strange, I had your interests completely confused. You didnât seem like the hunter type.
Nina: I wasnât! Not until I found out I could freeze my arrow tips.
Thanks for the powers, Mother! Youâre the best!
Flora: Youâre welcomeâŚ.?
Iâm glad I could help you. I was told in the past that you would ask other hunters if you needed anything.
Specifically the female ones.
Nina: ErâŚabout that.
ItâsâŚItâs not important!
I donât have to ask anyone anymore.
Flora: Itâs always good to be less dependent on others. Just donât take on too much.
Nina: Iâll be fine. Do you want to help me carry back my hunt?
Flora: Gladly. Would you care to lead the way?
Nina: You got it!
B support:
Flora: Nina! Is everything ok?!
Nina: Yes, Mother.
For me, anywayâŚ
That spear fighter, thoughâŚI feel so bad.
Flora: You were just thanking me for the Ice Tribe powersâŚ
But I wish you had only gotten the useful side of it.
Nina: Iâm not mad, Mother. Not at you.
I just wish I hadnât frozen up. Literally!
Talking to them face to face has never been my strong suit.
This doesnât happen only with guys but itâs much more common.
Flora: I suppose you get that from your aunt.
Your father is certainly not a nervous person.
I would like to think Iâm fairly good at keeping a straight face myself.
Nina: I donât want to be anything like him. Thereâs a difference between stoic and shameless!
Flora: I forgot how little you get along with him.
This might be an issue for another time.
What were you trying to ask that spear fighter?
Nina: I donât even remember! I clammed upâŚ
I think I was going to ask him to hunt because I was too busy, but I canât do that now.
I hope the army wonât need snow shoes with me around.
Flora: Iâm so sorry, NinaâŚ
I wish this hadnât happened to you.
*wind sound*
Nina: Whoa, Mother!
Itâs not cold to me but Iâm sure you could freeze a person right now!
We could learn to handle this together!
If you could help me be less nervous, I can try to help you.
Flora: I could try?
Nina: Thanks, Mother!
Flora: Youâre going first.
Nina: Wait, what?
A support:
Flora: Youâve done well, Nina.
Nina: You sure?
I still froze the ground under me.
Flora: Yes, but the soldier you were talking to was unfrozen the whole time. He walked away just fine.
These methods arenât bad for you, are they?
Exposure doesnât work for everyone.
Nina: NahâŚI think I can do it.
But thank you for asking.
Iâm glad youâre helpful, Mother.
Sorry to cut into your schedule. I know youâre busy.
Flora: Iâm never too busy for my daughter.
Nina: Hehe, Iâm happy to hear that.
It must be hard to teach something you havenât yet mastered.
Flora: Living a life of servitude helps.
If youâre too nervous, you could be fired and replaced before you can blink twice.
Although in some cases, Iâve seen that help retain a jobâŚ
I learned through necessity.
And now I want you to learn so you can excel.
Nina: WowâŚWhen you say it like that, it really makes me want to try!
Maybe we can work to overcome this.
But after Iâm done, weâre going to help you have a little more control too.
Iâm a lot like my mother, after all!
Flora: Youâre brave, a great fighter, and an even better daughter.
To be compared to you is a compliment far above me.
Nina: Mother! Youâve got to value yourself more.
As I grew up, I thought âMotherâs so collected and strong, I want to try to be like her!â.
It didnât work as well as I hoped, but you were my goal. You still kind of are.
If you keep doing that, Iâll go around telling the army youâre awesome.
Or better yet, Iâll write it down and deliver it! Iâm fast, I could deliver that many letters in a day.
Flora: All right, all right. I wonât be so harsh on myself.
But now that weâve seen that exposure therapy has its merits with you, weâre going to keep trying.
Nina: Ooh, who next? A mage? A general?
Maybe the mage and general I saw talking to each other a little while agoâŚ
Whatever it is, I can handle it! Promise!
Flora: Thatâs a relief. Weâre going to talk to your father.
Nina: What? Ew. I donât want to talk to him.
Flora: You promised, Nina.
Nina: Aw, great, me and my big mouth.
#submission#ahahahah nina has ice arrows and didn't even have to go through the gerudo training grounds#but really that was funny and sweet and i love kids dealing with mom's ice power inheritence lol#thanks for this!!#nina#flora#gay fates#not so gay fates#fe14#fe14 spoilers
