oHHHH my God... did baring-gould put chas in 1899 by... literally counting 50 murder cases and putting it in that winter....?? that is... remarkably stupid
#i have been avoiding established timelines#but its 1899 placement is mentioned on the wikipedia so#i had it placed there tentatively for lack of any other information bc i couldnt figure out the reasoning#and assumed it was maybe something like. the mysterious lady is referencing a real person that 1899 makes sense for? idk#but i went to count 50 murders just to SEE#and it lined up exactly...#truly cannot get over how silly that is. its a turn of phrase not a literal count...#and even if it WERE. theres so many untold cases 1899 is WAY too late#god.#i understand why ppl have beef w the b-g timeline now this is a mess#unless he explains more somewhere i literally cant find a version w explanations#but again. i have not looked very hard#a#acd holmes
