[ID: a post banner with dark red background and medium grey bolded text in the center. it reads “This post is about physical disabilities, do not derail.” On each side there is the dynamic disability icon, a gray symbol of person in manual wheelchair leaning forward with arms bent behind them mid-push. /end ID]
#it used to make me ashamed when i was like 14 because it was a 'gross' disease#and people only mention it (well. more like the symptoms) for jokes or to make people with it into jokes#but it’s such an exhausting and difficult and often demeaning chronic disease to deal with#also ibs sufferers i am kissing u on the forehead because. we share similar symptoms#however i did not mention you in this because IBD gets overlooked because IBS is so much more common#so i wish all ibs sufferers relief too BUT i want. the difference to be acknowledged for IBD as a frequently severe autoimmune disease#since IBD often involves more 'serious' medications with scary side effects or things like ileostomy/stoma bags + various surgeries/removal#anyway i have UC but im gonna include the crohn's people too even though i thiiiink more people have heard of that in general
