i do think there's something quite degrading abt referring to any autobiographical/introspective comic as a "vent comic" simply because you first see it published online instead of a "real" book/magazine/etc.
#i'm sure it ties into people's general discomfort with others being very open about their emotions#esp online where it's easier to detach yourself from the idea that these are real people#but it still feels in poor taste to dismiss it as genuine expression so readily#you don't have to 'relate' to it for it to be valuable to the artist#jestersvaguely
