Random BL Superlatives: 2023 Edition
It's the end of the year and I'm feeling the need to give out some awards! We talk a lot about best show, best actors, best writing, best directing, blah blah but I gotta be honest, these are the categories that really spoke to me this year. In no particular order:
Best supporting garment: Porsche’s sweater, A Boss and A Babe
Tumblr media
Did I create this entire list just to have an excuse to post about this sweater one more time? Maybe so.
Best performance despite a terrible wig: Daou, Love in Translation
Tumblr media
This man managed to perform one of the hottest scenes of the year with that bowl cut monstrosity on his head. Respect must be paid.
Best new terminology: BGP, Bump Up Business
Tumblr media
BUB gave us so many gifts, but I will always be most thankful for the business gay performance concept (BGP), a term that is highly relevant in discussions of the bl industry.
Best advice: "Unfuck it," Tien in La Pluie
Tumblr media
It's not only the succinct phrasing, but also the delivery method.
Best ex who deserved better: Alan, Moonlight Chicken
Tumblr media
Yes, I will be staying on the Alan apologist beat in 2024, thank you for asking.
Best unexpected needle drop: Wetter, The Eighth Sense
youtube
The moment this show captured my full attention.
Best WTF ending: The End of the World With You
Tumblr media
You can probably still hear my scream of "WHAT" echoing in the hills. (Actual ending not pictured in case y'all decide to watch).
Best gut punch line: "Have you been well? Without me?", Our Dating Sim
Tumblr media
Sure Shin Gi Tae, Lee Wan deserved it, but did I??
Best adorable child: Tane, Our Dining Table
Tumblr media
Need I say more??
Best weapon: sparkle murder dust, Khun Chai
Tumblr media
Truly the MVP of this show. I can't find an actual gif of the dust in action (too violent to be depicted) so enjoy these pretty men instead.
Best great character trapped in a bad show: Boston, Only Friends
Tumblr media
My beloved, I will seek vengeance in your name.
Best use of music to fuck me up: Plumeria, I Feel You Linger in the Air
youtube
Cocktail and Tee Bundit, you know what you did!
Best meal: Chicken curry and cheese naan, What Did You Eat Yesterday?
Tumblr media
Yes, this category is kind of a cheat so I can mention WDYEY on this list. And what about it!
Best unhinged energy: Nawin, Laws of Attraction
Tumblr media
He may not have succeeded at stealing back his man but he certainly stole the show.
Best bl horror: Grand Guignol
Tumblr media
I just need to make sure all you jbl fans know that this movie exists and that Issei fucked Mr Unlucky!!! IYKYK.
Best character comeback: Phupha, Our Skyy 2
Tumblr media
From boring stoic love interest to actually compelling and kinda funny leading man! See what a little flirting with Pat Jindapat can do for you?!

HI MY BELOVED ANGEL!!! i am sending u mattsun + campfire as well as kisses n hugs <33
SAINTTT hello 🥺 thank you for sending a prompty!! 🥹 idt i've ever written mattsun fully before so this is something new!
help me get back into the writing groove! send me a character + any word and i'll write a short blurb about it!
contains: exes, stranded-y situation, feelings are complicated, some expletives
mattsun + campfire
"i told you we should've brought the spare—"
"yeah, let me go back in time for a sec and do just that."
"asshole."
lesson #1: nothing good ever happens when you're stuck in a car with your ex on the way to somewhere remote.
you blame iwaizumi for this one. who the fuck chooses to spend their birthday weekend in the fucking wilderness?
(okay, you don't actually think it's so bad. to be fair, he did plan this a year ago. and it did sound like a good idea. then. at the time. anywhere with the boys was always guaranteed fun―at least, until you and matsukawa broke up.)
"can you pass me the flashlight?" he points at the backpack behind you. when you hand it over, your fingers brush over his as he takes it away from you.
and you hate it, because―
lesson #2: you should never be alone with your ex when you still have feelings for them.
you'd agreed to take two cars to the camping spot: iwaizumi's with oikawa and hanamaki and matsukawa's with you. there was no way you'd fit in one, and hanamaki ultimately decided to ride with iwaizumi because, "you and mattsun have shit to sort out," he'd said.
with night setting and the two-hour headstart they managed to get ahead of you, the best thing you and matsukawa can do is to set up camp temporarily and wait for them to come back for you come sunrise.
you sigh.
leaves crack underneath your feet as you maneuver around your camping space. the light from matsukawa's flashlight tells you where he is, just a bit deeper in the forestry as he looks for wood to help set up the fire.
you unload the car in the meantime, bringing out some snacks and sleeping bags while waiting.
matsukawa eventually comes back with arms full of wood, and you help in whatever way you can, clearing the space and fetching more twigs when needed.
the entire car ride here had been quiet, so it's not surprising that this entire process has been equally as silent. until―
"did you already pull out your tent?" he asks, half of his body disappearing into the trunk of the car.
"huh?" you go closer, "i only brought out the sleeping bags."
then he sighs, ducking out from the trunk with a hand on his hip, "we only have one tent."
"what?"
"makki must have gotten yours with his when he decided to move cars."
his hand runs through his hair, a habit you know well. it lights up all sorts of weird feelings in your tummy
you don't know how to feel―
"i can sleep in the car."
―but you know that you definitely don't want him to do that. all things considered, you were friends first. and you've both been trying to be friends again since the breakup. you wouldn't want to cause him discomfort like that.
so, with a deep breath, you say, "it's okay, we can just share."
"are you sure?" he stares at you.
you nod.
after setting up the tent, you eat a few energy bars and clean up from the day's events. the campfire provides ample enough heat, but with how fast the flames are burning, you're doubtful it'll last the two of you the entire night.
it’s much later on, past midnight, that your doubts are proven right when you and matsukawa are cramped together in a tent made for one. it started to get cold a few minutes ago, and you've found yourself inching closer and closer to the warmth you’ve gotten used to laying against for the past two years.
he's only pretending to be asleep, you know that much, too. the rise and fall of his chest is hardly there; you can see it, how he's holding his breath being this close to you.
"issei," you whisper.
he opens his eyes, eyelids lifting lazily as he meets your stare. the vibration of his hum reverberates to you.
"it's cold."
for a moment, your stomach drops at the thought that he could ignore you; how it would make perfect sense for him to. you broke up with him after all, and he doesn't owe you anything, much less favors as intimate as this one.
but he closes the already dwindling gap between you, wrapping an arm around your waist as he pulls you closer. it's near, far too near for exes to be―noses touching and all.
"warmer?" his voice comes out hoarser through the whisper.
you nod, your head shifting up and down—which, truly, is where you ultimately fuck up. you feel it, a little chapped but still pliant against your lips.
in your carelessness, you accidentally brush your lips against his, the sensation alone surprising you enough to inch your head back as you mutter your apologies.
"sorry? really?" he asks, eyes half-lidded still as he chuckles.
his question settles into the small space you're in.
your vision trails from his eyes, down to the slope of his nose, until it lands on his lips again. a little split like you've always known, but still your favorite. still the only lips you want against yours.
when you lean in again, you know you're fucked, because―
lesson #3: the number one rule is that exes shouldn't kiss each other anymore.
#mattsun x reader#matsukawa x reader#hq x reader#shotorus.workbook#WAAAAAH i hope u like this saint !!!#ive never rlly written mattsun in length before so i hope i captured him enough ?????#i feel like he's such a tough balance to write (bc i am not witty at all and i feel like he would be HAHAHA)#anyway !!! some stuff abt the fic: the split was amicable for the most part#but the reason why makki says reader and mattsun have stuff to sort out is because there's like a weird tension~~ that he feels around them#and its kind of like. they bicker? and snap at each other like exes do but also it's just like. why do u care abt what the other does so mu#if you arent together anymore ?? typa thing. its like. they argue but in a way couples normally do if that makes sense#HONESTLY MAKKI WOULDNT HAVE ALSO MINDED STAYING WITH THEM cos he likes to watch HAHA but i think#he joined iwaoi more as a 'ill give u guys time together to fuck it out or wtvr just dont be weird on iwa's bday' typa thing#they were also together for a while! friends first and everything hmmm the reason why reader broke up with him#can be up to you! but my intention was for it to be something fixable and just more fitting for a 'break' typa thing#not necessarily a breakup#also the iwa car went ahead and they have the spare tire so they can go back and help but better in the daylight#i think thats all !!!#i hope you like it !!#ask#rep#saint.🩸#honestly these just keep getting longer hAHAH i should follow my 20 minute cap more#ask rep answered#heartsyougave

Top 20 BL Live-action of 2024
Here are the top 20 of 2024: live-action BL that I watched and enjoyed this year. I haven't watched everything that came out this year (I'm saving up some for the upcoming year) and did revisit a lot of older stuff (not listed) when there was nothing enjoyable to watch. This year, I realized that I am able to tolerate, if not enjoy, when I'm not too familiar with the content it is adapted from with some exceptions. I don't treat BL like fables or life lessons. I don't bother with moral validation from the choice of media I consume either. But there are certain real-world killjoys in media that may affect my enjoyment, like what happened with The Sign. Please feel free to ask for content warning.
20. Love Is a Poison - This series made my wish to see Hama Shogo in a BL come true. I loved his character in Koisenu Futari (2022) and wanted more of his character’s interaction with Takahashi Issei’s character. Also, the series leaned into the surreal with the squealing, sparkling succulents. While the legal drama part of the series was light, it was the first time I was invested in the character’s careers since Beloved Enemy (2017) [which is going to have a Thai remake/adaptation]. I absolutely enjoyed the dynamics of a neo-super-darling seme paired with a devoted, kuudere uke. But, I wish there were fewer flashback/compilation scenes.
19. Unknown - I never thought Priest’s Da Ge will become something like this. I am impressed by the meticulous cultivation that source material underwent. That little carp really crossed the gate to become a dragon. The Unknown managed to tone down the golden finger bits and keep things realistic to an extent, fit the whole business venture arc neatly into Taiwan’s SME-heavy capitalism. It fleshed out Le ge, and his relationship with both his underlings and his junior and made him interesting. It gave me one of my favorite mob characters in a BL – an ex-gangster with his blacked-out tattoos running a street food stall. In line with Taiwanese tradition, this series not only employed high BL literacy but also dedicated time to educate. (more on it here)
18. Cosmetic Playlover - I was hesitant to watch this show since I had enjoyed the first few volumes of manga and lost interest in later volumes. I knew they were going to censor the hell out of the first volume. While I am still bitter about that fact, I still enjoyed the series.
17. Love is Better the Second Time Around - this had some of my favorite moments from a BL - two-faced seme employing all sorts of methods to seduce and ensnare the uke, return of the alone-at-the-railway-station trope, seme using helpless, feverish face and acting coquettish (some seriously charming gap moe), teasing a seme's seme (this one did it better than At 25:00 in Akasaka which fumbled it by choice) and kishōtenketsu - 4 part traditional East Asian narrative structure (which appeared in many series this year and the last) with family negotiation aiming at adoption reversal. (I wanted seme to recommend uke in his place to his native household - that way they can also get married, if and when it gets legalized.)
16. Living with Him – The reason why this series is on this list is pretty unique. I never understood Japanese focus and fetish of nape (the way navel is in south India) before this series. The camera managed to capture the uke's neck, especially when he had his head bent slightly, in a stunning manner. Overall, the camera language was very intimate without being bawdy, perfectly suitable for the domestic setting of this BL. I loved the series more than I did the manga.
15. Century of Love - Gave me Hindi serial style BL complete with a red cloth enveloping the main couple during their fated encounter. It is a lakorn, so that's to be expected. I felt that the pair's romance progressed at an uncharacteristically fast pace given the initial resistance. (In other words, I wanted their romance to progress slowly, like over 400 episodes.) I thoroughly enjoyed the characters including the villains.
14. Healing Thingyan – this BL from Myanmar is no longer available at SKY Production’s YouTube channel. I had a good time watching this BL set in a village in the context of New Year where friends become lovers after much hesitation and an interrupted confession from the year before. My heart was pounding when the couple poured water over the left side because that's where their hearts are at. Also, the religious restriction (I am a little weak to this trope) to physical intimacy as a tactic to skip kiss scene - I would have been irked if it wasn't for the execution - the couple standing under arching bamboo, wearing sarong and acting all sweet. It is set in 2019. Later, I came to know that allegedly (I would appreciate if someone can help me gain more clarity on this matter), SKY production could be a proxy of 7th Sense Creation, an entertainment company cofounded by Kin Thiri Thet, daughter of Senior General Min Aung Hlaing (Commander-in-Chief of Myanmar’s armed forces and Acting President against whom the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court has filed an application for an arrest warrant, alleging his involvement in crimes against humanity targeting the Rohingya population. (source))
13. The Time of Fever - I'm not very sure if this one can be considered a complete story in itself but even if not, it is immensely satisfying. Age-blind casting shouldn't have worked so well but it did.
12. Gray Shelter - this one made me feel as though I read a nice short story or a novel. It was viscous like honey, the way such types of Korean BL novels (like Picked Up In Winter) tend to be. It had a very masculine vibe with underlying unease of depending and being depended on.
11. Hitochigai kara Hajimaru Koi mo Aru aka Love Can Sometimes Start with the Wrong Person [fansubs available at Drama Otaku] - substitute lover trope but this time the substitute is two-faced. Everyone has their own agenda but this love is a zero-sum game. (I wanted 3p ending though – not possible since one actor is playing both the twins). I loved all the scheming and all those little lies. This one had explicit use of BL terms like seme and uke by a main character.
10. Perfect Propose - workplace that brings workers to tears, corporate slave uke who decides to quit (without starting a job hunt 😔) and an untethered seme who grows hydroponics tomatoes in their balcony. It is adapted from a single volume manga and not a novel, yet it uses every minute it's got to make you feel ALL THAT.
9. High School Return of a Gangster - I was sad that they meant it as a bromance and worried for the future of BL creation in South Korea since it was Number Three Pictures, the company that created popular BL Unintentional Love Story and The Time of Fever, by its own admission struggling financially with limited recovery of production costs (more on this here). When I started watching, I couldn't care any less about their intentions. It was an absolute delight. I was still immersed in the exhilaration of Aavesham (2024) and had wished to see such things in the context of a BL. And this one delivered. I was shipping the underboss with his main lackey (they have history between them and reminded me of the relationship between Ranga and Ambaan) at one point and the next moment, shipping him with his foxy classmate. The series toned down the bully-loves-bullied aspect in the novel, and humanized and contextualized the main bully with his life in the underbelly of the economy, so much so that I felt bad when the bullies were prosecuted (what will happen to Hong Jae-min's sister😟) while gangsters and the rich who hire them went scot-free in the live action. The face-slapping part left a bitter taste in my mouth with the secretary facing the brunt (and the misogyny embedded in the socio-economic fabric that breeds such hatred) while the father isn't retaliated against enough. I read and enjoyed the novel, but face-slapping was even more makjang. It is tough to get accepted in live action form as it is, in South Korea, since the gangster is middle-aged and it is only towards the end of the novel that the characters are finally out of high school, unlike in Mr. Mitsuya's Planned Feeding with a significant age gap but both are adults and are in a Japanese BL. Gong (공, Korean for seme) (a suspected psychopath, raised under constant surveillance by his father) consciously falls in love with the middle-aged su (수, Korean for uke) inhabiting the body of a high schooler, going as far as visiting his previous residence and pursuing him as one would an old person.
8. My Damn Business - From the first episode, this one had me hooked. Week after week, I was eagerly waiting for those 8 minute long episodes. It acknowledged the manhwa side of BL and hinted at their iconic smut pages (in a way New Employee live action couldn't). It executed stalking horse trope, with Park Min-jae (R. I. P) playing the stalking horse, in a manner that had me giddy with excitement. I also appreciate GND STUDIO for casting darker-skinned actors – in this one and in Fake Buddies. GND studio also has decent BL literacy as is evident from the above-mentioned series. In the third episode, Fake Buddies used the East Asian tradition of representing gay and lesbian relationships through rose (from barazoku (薔薇族)) and lily (from yurizoku (百合族)) respectively to hint at the BL and GL couple.
7. Boku to Boku ga Sukina Kare to, Kimi to aka Me, Him, and You [fansubs available at Drama Otaku]- Honestly, I didn't expect to be this impressed by this one going in. I had such low expectations. I absolutely love the pairing between Higashi Keisuke and Hiroki Iijima, much more than Higashi Keisuke and Nakajima Sota in Ossan no Pants ga Nandatte Ii Janai ka! and Hiroki Iijima and Inukai Atsuhiro in Our Dining Table. The series played with my heartstrings a lot. I fondly remember several of the scenes and all the emotions they evoked in me. At the end, there was a longing for something, maybe some more time with those characters, especially the model and his uncle.
6. Pit Babe (2023) - omegaverse with enigma - Japan has like 1 manga but through PitBabe I discovered that enigma has become a popular secondary gender in Thai BL space. I love buff uke and I got one paired with a two-faced, loyal loser seme in this one. Super pretty villain, Tony, had me wishing for him to be an omega (I love megalomaniac omegas). I also enjoyed reading the book – every time it rained, that silent phone call, Babe's jealousy towards omegas, the suspense and the pregnancy scare.
5. Love Sea - MAME lifted me out of a BL slump with this one. I also enjoyed the GL pair a lot - there is nothing I like more than performative cuteness/winsomeness (കൊഞ്ച konjal, aegyo, sajiao, kawaii) and benevolent sexism weaponized and employed for emotional manipulation. High EQ manipulators are so rare, my favourite type of yandere (especially when paired perfectly with someone who gets swept up in the moment easily, like Techno). I wonder why MAME doesn't write Janus-faced men that way too. And the men who perform winsomeness such as Tongrak, Kengkla and Tharn, when they do so, have motivations that aren’t Machiavellian enough.
4. Heavens x Candy - OP Pictures is bringing to screens BL that are otherwise tough to get made. This one explored otaku culture, loneliness, family and love through fan pilgrimages, cute and horrifying family dynamics, adult entertainment avenues and love hotels with those transparent walls of bathrooms. It healed my heart after the blow dealt by I Became the Main Role of a BL Drama.
3. Love Syndrome: The Beginning – I didn't expect this but I'm glad to have received it. I want more but now that the director, F Nontapat Sriwichai, has passed away, I don't expect anything anymore. If only his legacy would inspire someone with the ability and mettle. I prefer meriba endings over happy endings. So, when Love Syndrome III was the first to get an adaptation, I was drawn into Yeonim’s universe. The movie focuses on Gear and Night’s relationship and spends relatively less time on Day and Itt. Yet, it is not hesitant to portray the beginning of their relationships, especially the eroticized violence and the morbid conditioning (調教), showcasing exceptional BL literacy.
2. Kubi (2023) – [Fan-subs] I must praise the excellent production quality before anything else. It is about multiple legendary figures in Japanese history such as Oda Nobunaga, Araki Murashige, Akechi Mitsuhide, Mori Ranmaru and Yasuke. The movie has historically accurate ending with specifics changed to fit the narrative. It is based on Honno-ji Incident and Battle of Yamazaki. Those who died then, dies in the movie too but who killed who and why are fictional. (meta here)
1. Takumi-kun Series 6: Nagai Nagai Monogatari no Hajimari no Asa (2023) – this one and Kubi came out last year but I got the chance to watch them only this year. Thanks to fan subs by @furritsubs. I read and re-read those chapters from the novel and I'm still basking in the magic of Shinobu Gotoh's storytelling. First time since Unni R's story and screenplay for Charlie (2015), I got immersed in a love story where the couple barely even interact and the romance unfolds in a thriller-like fashion. While a lot of character motivation gets lost on the way in this live action, most important of them were impossible to miss when snow fluttered around in a bottle, when a delirious Takumi sought Gii in a crowded stairway landing and when Yoshizawa jumped out to stop Takabayashi from hurting. (ongoing meta series here)
-
• An iconic scene from bonus chapter 2 of The New Employee aka The New Recruit manhwa adaptation (web novel written by Moscareto and illustrated by Zec) ahead.

there’s something about his cock being wrapped like a present. you don’t get to fully admire its beauty—enjoy your gift—until he’s painfully hard, throbbing and leaking all over your soft palm. you get to play with the sensitive skin and see how he reacts when you pull it back and press a wet kiss to his drooling tip; dipping the tip of your tongue into his slit, you marvel at how he bites his lip and stifles a moan as he bucks his hips at the feeling.

Bleach OC: Kaito Yukimura (Shinigami Verse)
// OC info template grabbed from @itashiro-hitsuchiha thanks!
Tumblr media
Age: 20+ (looks, in human years) Height: 180cm / 5’11” Sexuality: Straight
Appearance: (main) faceclaim - Kishou Arima (Tokyo Ghoul)
Kaito wears the standard Shinigami uniform, with the 10 Division’s insignia over the area at his heart.
Personality: Kaito is a hard worker who usually stays professional around his peers, leading to the challenge of others trying to get him to open up and become more ‘fun and normal’. He likes when things are in order and sticking to the rules, believing there always a good reason for them to be there to be followed. This extends to upholding traditions as well, though accepts and embraces the modernisation of the World of the Living through his patrols there.
Despite being a ‘boy scout’ as others have nicknamed him, Kaito can be empathetic, and is willing to bend the rules for a just cause. For example, wandering Arrancar who poses no threat to Soul Society or the World of the Living. He would keep an eye on them for their safety, and to vouch for them when the situation called for it. Kaito believes this way they would be better an ally than an enemy for when a mutual threat shows up in the future.
Squad / Division: 10 (under Captain Toshiro Hitsugaya)
Skill Ranks (scale 1-5, 1 being awful, 5 being captain level): Kido = 3 // (demon arts) spells Hohou = 4, // shunpo - flash step Hakuda =2, // hand-to-hand combat Zanjutsu = 4 // sword skill
BONUS fun fact: Kaito is (my) Toshiro Hitsugaya’s (younger) distant cousin! lmao
Zanpakuto Name: Isseimaru (first generation circle/beloved, pun on ice/issei):
Release command: “Bring about the ice age, Isseimaru!”
Zanpacto Released Appearance: From a normal-looking katana in its sealed form, the blade of Isseimaru disappears, leaving the hilt where its guard becomes shaped like a snowflake.
Ability: While the zanpakuto blade disappears, the hilt now can create blades of cold wind and ice that can extend and form various shapes/weapons, even shields.
Bankai: Dai Hyoga Isseimaru (Great Glacier First Gen Circle/Beloved): Upon activation, Kaito’s bankai lowers the temperate to 5 degrees Celsius (41 Fahrenheit), and continuously lowers the temperature while the Bankai is activated. He also freezes the ground where he walks for around 5 metres, where the ability of Shikai is extended to and powered up. From this frozen ground, Kaito can also summon ice soldiers that can form their own weapons and shields for battle.
Kaito has to create ice armour around himself to better contain and control his Bankai so as to not affect his allies, and manipulates his armour like he does his ice instead of moving his own body. With this precaution in place, his battle power/potential is around halved.
Tumblr media
// invel Yura’s True Ice Kamui (Fairy Tail) for visual reference
Bankai Mastery: Upon complete mastery of his bankai, Kaito can lower the temperature of a specific point or area at will, and can condense his bankai into numerous snowflakes that can freeze or cut, like Byakuya’s Bankai. Kaito can now summon his ice attacks/defences with hand movements without the need for his ice armour, and also summon his ice soldiers from the ground without having to freeze it first.

Sweet Thief
Tumblr media
Notice: Light swearing, a smooch
Word Count: 576
A/N: So last night I decided to do a final edit for this writing, which led to this post. I did hella research for this one (read: looked on the hi-chew website to pick a flavor).
Tumblr media
"You guys, this honestly isn't funny. The traitor needs to reveal themselves or I'm not going."
Several groans follow as you quietly close the door behind you. You guys agreed to meet at Oikawa's place before heading out to the movies, but lucky for you, your lateness didn't really matter in the end. Something serious was going down.
With your shoes kicked off, you finally approach the room where the pretty boy's voice was coming from. Iwa and Makki were slumped in their barstools as if they were legitimately being scolded by their parents. You almost giggle at the scene, but hold it in since being on the receiving end of Oikawa's wrath wasn’t on your to-do list.
While listening in for just a smidgen of context, you feel a gentle tap on your upper arm. Issei's smile is soft as he pulls you in for a 'hello' kiss. His lip balm is different from the usual mint flavor. Strawberry? How cute. Attempting to keep a low profile, you mumble the question of what was going on before Oikawa finally notices your arrival.
"Y/n, tell these fools to fess up!"
You jump a little at the sudden spotlight. "F-fess up? For what?" Yikes, you sounded pathetic. A light 'pfft' leaves Issei's lips and you playfully glare at him.
"One of these thieves," he damn near spits, "stole my sweet treats and they need to be dealt with."
The feeling of nervousness you felt just seconds ago has now left your body. You'd feel relieved, but god, that was so anticlimactic. You'd figured one of em made out with his mother the way his voice remains so firm. "Oh, wow…"
"See? Y/n gets it!"
His oblivion to your indifference makes you snort, "Dude! I'll just buy you some more of whatever it is. Problem solved!" Iwa sits up, eyes lightening. Maybe y'all will make it to the destination before sundown.
Oikawa starts to lose his composure. There's no way he's the only one that feels so deeply about the crimes committed against his pantry, "No, no, no, it's the principle that matters here, Y/n! How do you inhale someone's hi-chews without a word and not lose sleep at night? It's downright diabolical!"
You've almost fully zoned him out by now and nod your head to the door so everyone knows it's safe to start leaving. "I agree, whoever ate your hi-chews is a menace to society. Now let's put a pause on this and sort it out after we've had our fun, okay?" He whines, but follows anyway. Getting discounted entry to places because of Oikawa's celebrity status had its benefits. But after what just happened, you've decided it's not worth the trouble.

At the movies, everyone's content and sitting in their seats (excluding the beloved setter, who's grumpily eating a soft pretzel next to Iwa). Issei watches you sip your Icee, a smirk on his face clear as day despite the dimmed lighting. You quirk a brow out of curiosity, "What are you up to?"
He sighs, leaning towards you on the armrest, "Calling me a menace to society is a little dramatic, dontcha think?"
You ponder for a bit. Now when did you call him a menace- Oh, wow... You open your mouth, but before you can say anything, he shoves a handful of popcorn into it, “Oh, the trailers are starting, babe. Let’s sort that out after the movie.”
This guy…

So rias when you saw jaune still standing with several light spears in him and still fighting donahseek and the other 3 fallen angels trying to coax jaune to rest abit what's your reaction after hearing the blonde say I didn't hear no bell
"Oh my..." Rias crooned as she watched her newest servant standing tall against a veritable onslaught of light spears piercing his body. "Such a hardy piece you are."
She could sense much in the young knight, though it was more in aesthetic than in demonic power. That said, she did sense a faint presence of demonic power with him. Perhaps a devil had deemed him worthy of their powers to grant him into their circle, much like how she made Issei her pawn. But there were so many questions swirling in her mind as she watched this human, that she couldn't piece together information juat yet.
Jaune, however, only had one thing on his mind at the moment; pain. He had been skewered no fewer than a dozen times, but his aura and semblance kept him in the fight. He didn't know what this thing in front of him was say.
'God,' 'Fallen angels,' 'Devils,' and 'Sacred Gears.' He had no idea what was going on. Only that this stranger approached him, asked him 'what Devil he had served,' transformed into this winged humanoid before him, and had been throwing hard-light spears that could somehow pierce his aura ever since. But he was getting closer with every step.
"No!" Shouted an enemy from behind. "No! No! No! No! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO!"
Jaune simply soldiered on, his aura healing his body once his wounds closed. After this, he would probably have to eat everything with a blender. Nuggie slushies for everyone.
"HOW ARE YOU STILL FIGHTING?!" Another combatant shrieked.
"Urgh..." Jaune really wished he was the quipping type. Anything to distract him from this pain.
The Fallen Angels hadn't made a move on him beyond attacking one at a time. When one grew tired, another struck from behind to let the other escape. It was a cowardly tactic, especially from a species who swore to serve the light of God. Devils usually held more honor than that.
"Madam President," Akeno called from her side, "how fares the man in armor?"
"He's doing quite well for someone who lacks a sacred gear." Rias answered. "He's been holding off three Fallen Angels on his own."
"Oh my, is that so?" Akeno asked. "Do you believe he is a Devil as well?"
"I can't say for certain," Rias explained, "but I do feel a faint demonic presence on him. A familiar one at that."
Akeno hummed as she focused her attention on the paladin currently tearing a light spear from his body, his body glow beneath his hand over the gaping wound. There was a faint energy coming from him, but much deeper than his 'aura,' as the humans called it.
"Ah, I can sense something."
"Do you recognize it?"
"I'm sorry, but I do not." Akeno shook her head. "However, it does feel strangely familiar. Much like yours, but not as prominent. Perhaps a lesser house that survived the Great War?"
"Perhaps..."
"INCOMING!" A familiar voice roared. Landing next to Jaune, another combatant entered the fight. He wore jeans and a t-shirt and had chestnut brown hair. On his left arm was a gauntlet, fiery red with an emerald orb on the back of his hand. "You need some help, right?"
"I won't say no to it." Jaune huffed. "Jaune Arc."
"Hyoudou Issei." The new challenger replied. "Whatever you do, don't get distracted by their boobs."
Jaune was quiet for a moment. "Wha-?"
"Boost!" Issei shouted.
"BOOST!" Roared the gauntlet.
"Huh." Jaune shook his head. "Funny enough, not the craziest weapon or fighter I've ever seen."
Watching from above and afar, Rias watched as her beloved pawn joined the battle. It was a pleasant distraction as she tried to recount all the lesser houses of Gremory from her family history. Among them all, one seemed to resonate well with the aura.
The lesser house of warrior servants, Nikos.

Japanese QL Corner
We back! I was away for a couple weeks and amazing new Japanese bl was waiting for me on my return. Both of these currently airing shows are on Gaga and I highly recommend watching.
At 25:00 in Akasaka
Tumblr media
Two episodes into this show and I really like the rhythm of it. I find Shirasaki’s struggle to find confidence in his skills as an actor compelling, and I love Hayama’s quiet kindness. I told @bengiyo Hayama reminds me a bit of my beloved Issei but without the manic energy. Fundamentally, he is genuine and he cares for Shirasaki and any ulterior motives he has for this arrangement feel rooted in that. I love how quickly we’re getting into them bonding and building a relationship together; it's only the second episode and we’ve already arrived at cute date montages and first names. I love this one, and I hope Shirasaki finds his confidence and triumphs over that asshole costar who keeps negging him.
Living With Him
Tumblr media
I love them, your honor. And I like the simplicity of this show. Two nice boys, childhood friends, become roommates. They like each other. They decide to spend more time together and see what they’re comfortable with as their relationship develops. That’s it, that’s the plot. And it’s so compelling in how straightforward it is, bolstered by the honesty of the characters. I loved Natsukawa working up the courage to just ask if Kazuhito likes him, and Kazuhito being honest that he does, but doesn’t want him to feel pressured. Natsukawa might not feel confident that he’s ready for romance, but he has no issue spending time with and being close to Kazuhito. The way he clutched at him with that hug at the end made that super clear. I like the way the show is working in flashbacks to their childhood, too, giving us contextual information for that bond via important memories, and the way Natsukawa's family has been brought into the story. His mom is in fact beautiful and perceptive and his sisters are adorable. This show is darling.
Coming Soon: Zettai BL 3
Tumblr media
This is already out in Japan, but the distribution is exclusive to Lemino and not currently available to international audiences. I will be on the look out and reporting in as soon as it's available to watch properly. In the meantime, you can join me in watching the new opening credits song on a loop.

S.U.I.T.S - Outbreak
TERRAN 1 - 2 YEARS LATER
Startled by a terrifying nightmare, I suddenly sat up in bed. As my eyes adjusted to the darkness, I gradually recognized the comforting atmosphere of my own bedroom. My heart raced while sweat dripped down my face. Gradually, my breathing slowed, and a peaceful silence surrounded me.
I casually tossed aside the blanket and rose from my bed, clad only in my boxers. Brimming with self-assurance, I made my way towards the bedroom door, veering left to step into the bathroom. With a flick of the switch, the light above the mirror illuminated, and I fixated my gaze upon my reflection. As I gingerly grazed my left cheek, a slight burning sensation arose. It served as a subtle testimony of the time I was abandoned to die by 'The Grim Reaper' back in my schooling years.
I turned around and exited the bathroom, switching off the light. As I stood before the bedroom, I peered into the dimly lit room and noticed someone comfortably nestled in my bed. I then redirected my gaze and headed towards the left. While traversing the kitchen, the central light unexpectedly flickered, momentarily dimming before illuminating once again. On the stove, I carefully positioned the kettle and adjusted the knob to the highest setting. Additionally, I retrieved two packets of instant coffee mix from the corner of my kitchen counter.
"Issei," a tired female voice whispered. “Are you okay?" Startled, I turned around to see Asuka standing at the bedroom doorway. Exhaustion was evident on her face. She had wrapped my beloved high school sports jacket around herself, leaving the zipper partially undone. The jacket seemed oversized on her, reaching halfway down her thighs, revealing a hint of cleavage and obscuring her panties.
"Did I wake you up?" I asked.
“No." She yawned. “Come back to bed.”
“We have to prepare, Asuka.” I answered back.
Asuka strolled lazily across the kitchen, her arm wrapping around my stomach as I poured the instant coffee packets into a cup. I suddenly felt her breast press against my back. With her head resting gently near my shoulder, I could hear her silently yawn once more.
"Do you like that, Issei?" she lazily drawled out my name. "You can have fun with them when we get back to bed," she mischievously whispered.
"It's going to be a busy day today, Asuka," I replied. "We need to prepare to leave."
"Okay," Asuka yawned as she held onto our passionate embrace. "Let me stay like this, Issei." She let out a sigh. So we remained in silence, embracing each other, as the aroma of morning coffee filled the kitchen.
After a few minutes, Asuka finally released me and made her way to the dining table. As I sat across from her, I slid the coffee cup over and watched her sleepily stir her drink. "What day is it?" she suddenly asked.
"It's January 15th, 2082, 6:00AM in the morning” I answered.
"It's been over two years, Issei." Asuka finished her coffee and placed it down. "Happy Almost Three Year Anniversary, Issei.” She reached over and firmly grasped my hand with hers. Her voice, slurred with drowsiness, accompanied a gentle smile. “I love you, Issei."
"Happy Almost Three Year Anniversary, Asuka," I whispered, tightly holding onto her hand. "I love you too, Asuka.”
I emerged from my apartment into the chilly outdoors, adorned in a formal male kimono. The sun had not yet risen to commence the day. I stood on the sidewalk, patiently awaiting Asuka. In formation, a group of young adults swiftly ran past me, followed by a group of teenagers.
"Issei," I heard my name called, prompting me to turn towards the familiar voice. Standing before me was Asuka, donning a stunning white kimono, with a matching small kimono handbag in her grasp. She looks riveting in her kimono.
Asuka joined me by my side as we made our way to our destination in Tokyo. We relished the peacefulness surrounding us as we listened to birds chirping in harmony, having awakened from their slumber. The same group of young adults and teens ran passed us in formation when we slowly climbed up the hill.
“They seem motivated for today.” Asuka spoke.
“It’s not only them,” I answered.
A group of VTOL aircraft, capable of vertical take-off and landing, flew silently overhead in formation as we ascended the hill. Upon reaching the hilltop, we made the decision to turn around and indulge in the breathtaking view. To our amazement, in the heart of Tokyo, stood a colossal structural space elevator, its energy tethers faintly glowing and suddenly illuminating. I witnessed countless VTOL aircraft, aerial transports, and various other airborne models elegantly flying in formation, accompanied by the impressive orbital space guns encircling the space elevator and scattered in other locations. Taking a moment to fully absorb the spectacle, a bunch of lively teenagers swiftly dashed past us, effortlessly descending the hill. While the city slumbered, they quietly patrolled the streets throughout the night. We turned around and continued on.
"Asuka inquired, 'Can you believe that they managed to construct this many structures in just two years?'"
I added, emphasizing the ongoing construction, "Furthermore, they are even building these intricate structures in rural areas and even underwater."
The Terran Federation and SUITS, a collective name embraced and acknowledged by various nations, including superpowers, regionals and even the smallest ones, have united to enhance defense strategies, ultimately turning Earth into an impregnable stronghold against possible enemies. However, we still have a significant journey ahead before we can truly refer to it as an impregnable fortress.
We observed a crowd waiting in front of the temple, and they gestured for us to join them. We joined their gathering as they continued their conversation early in the morning. The girls, dressed in their kimonos, looked stunning as always, while the guys appeared dashing in theirs.
Kobo Kumiko, Ito Nanako, Ito Ren, Ishikawa Hideki, Ishikawa Hina, Mori Saki, and Nakano Sho have been some of my closest friends since middle school or even earlier, dating back to elementary school. Aikawa Eiji is a recent close friend ever since we reconciled after the sports competition. He has saved my life numerous times.
"What do you mean, 'why are we here?'" Hina pouted. "It's a coming-of-age ceremony for most of you guys. I want to watch."
"And Hina dragged me here," Saki yawned.
Hina and Saki are one year younger than us and they have been following us around even before we became SUITS members. "Yeah," Hina continued to pout. "You lied to Hina and Saki about your organization affiliation, so now we're sticking to you like glue!"
"What she said," Saki yawned.
"You know, Ren, you don't have to be here," I reminded him.
Ren, who is two years younger than us and the younger brother of Ito Nanako, still insists on joining us. Nervously, he voiced his complaints, saying, "But this will be the last time I will see both of you, Asuka. I don't know when I will see either of you again."
"Don't forget about me, Ren," Aikawa chimed in. "I'm also leaving with Kobayashi."
Ren looked at Aikawa for a couple seconds before glancing at me as he questioned, "Why is he here?”
Ignoring his inquiry, I responded, "Well, let's make the most of every second we have together.”
`The majority of us turned 20 years old at the start of the new year, finally embracing our status as young adults. We spent every last minute together, hanging out at the temple. Asuka and I stood beside the shrine and offered our prayers for a couple of minutes. Meanwhile, the rest of the group waited at the exit, leaving just the two of us alone with each other.
I opened my eyes and glanced at Asuka, who was still praying. I tried to engrave every single part of her face in my memory, taking advantage of every second. Breaking the silence, Asuka clapped her hands a couple of times and then opened her eyes, shifting her gaze towards me. Our eyes locked for a few seconds.
She whispered teasingly, "What are you staring at, Issei?"
I answered, "Your incredible beauty."
Asuka shyly giggled and playfully brushed a strand of hair behind her ear. She whispered confidently, "I know." Then she turned around and reached out her hand. "You can keep looking as much as you want."
I reached out and firmly grasped her hand as we strolled away from the temple. We savored the moment, exchanging smiles and gazing into each other's eyes. Suddenly, a camera shutter sound caught our attention from a distance, diverting our focus. It was Hina, capturing us with a polaroid camera, while Kumiko snapped a photo with her smartphone.
"You two look great together!" Hina cheered. “I’m jealous!” She complained. “Let’s take a group selfie!”  Asuka and I quickly gathered with the others as Hina raised her smartphone. She took the group selfie of us, a memory I wouldn’t forget.
After the coming-of-age ceremony, Hina, Saki, and Ren parted ways with us. We made our way back to our apartment, conveniently located near the space elevator. The remaining group slowly gathered outside our apartment, as we had agreed to meet there. Donning my SUITS formal uniform, I stepped out of my apartment and encountered Aikawa on the road. He, too, was dressed in a SUITS formal uniform.
"Issei, are you still experiencing night terrors?" Aikawa asked. I looked at him abruptly and he pointed at his left eye, indicating my scar.
"Oh," I responded. "The scar has been causing burning sensations every time I have these night terrors." I touched my scar. "Does this signify something?"
"I wouldn't know," Aikawa answered. He paused for a few seconds, letting out a nervous sigh.
"What about you?" I asked. "Are you okay?"
Aikawa admitted, "I never imagined the day would come when we would leave Earth." I agreed with him.
Aikawa changed the subject. "How long will we be away from home?"
I answered. “When the threat is gone.”
“Straight to the point," Aikawa sighed as Asuka unexpectedly joined us on the road. "You're definitely going to miss Asuka the most."
"Of course Issei is going to miss me," Asuka confidently declared, wrapping her arm around mine and drawing herself close to me. "I'm his one and only."
Kumiko teased, with a hint of disgust, "Her confidence is off the charts." Kumiko and Nanako joined us as we formed a circle. “Can you believe that Issei’s decision is to have my squad to stay on Earth instead of joining you guys in the stars?” Kumiko asked, in disgust. “I hate it so much.” I ignored her snide remark as Hideki and Sho joined us a few seconds later.
Sho teased as well. “Yeah, Kobayashi. We want to join you in the stars!”
I ignored him as well and changed the subject. “Anyways, let’s go.”
We strolled in a group, marveling at the impressive construction of this enormous wall surrounding the massive structural space elevator within the city. Passing through the first security checkpoint granted us entrance into the walled area. It was remarkable to experience the contrast in noise and bustling activity as we stepped inside, where previously not a single sound could be heard from beyond the wall. The utilization of SUITS technology truly is astonishing. Several ground vehicles drove past us, while a group of individuals in SUITS uniforms walked past us in formation.
“I swear this never get’s old.” Sho spoke. We agreed with him.
We walked into a huge and spacious atrium that served as the entrance to the space elevator. Despite it being mid-morning, the complex was bustling with activity, similar to the outside. Everyone appeared to be in a hurry to reach their respective destinations. After passing through a second security checkpoint, we proceeded further into the building. As I gazed up, I could see a transparent window revealing a radiant energy tether connecting to a faint space station in space.
I spotted two familiar faces in the distance: Daisuke and Kokoro were waiting for us near the elevator. They guided each of us into the smaller space elevator, which had a capacity for forty passengers. We were not alone, as a few more members of SUITS joined us. After we settled into our seats and fastened our seatbelts, the door closed. I sensed a slight vibration in the elevator for a few seconds. Overhead, the energy tether shone brighter as it effortlessly lifted the elevator. There was no vibration during our smooth transportation.
I have ridden these elevators countless times in the past two years, and yet they still make me nervous due to their ability to transport humans seamlessly into space. Additionally, the breathtaking view of Tokyo never fails to amaze me. As we continue towards our destination, the city gradually turns into a tiny dot. In the distance, I couldn't help but notice hundreds of orbital defense guns and a lone battleship hovering remotely.
The elevator momentarily passed through a cloud, before revealing a mesmerizing view. The first thing that caught my eye was the Earth's curvature. As we continued ascending, I noticed a few energy tethers emanating from a distant place. Moreover, SUITS has also established space stations in various other cities. However, these weren't the only distractions. Three colossal spaceships of different designs hovered between Earth's atmosphere and space. That wasn't the sole source of my amazement though. As I ventured into outer space, I was astounded by the sight of numerous colossal orbital gun platforms being constructed from afar. Moreover, I observed a vast array of diverse spaceships either gracefully soaring in formation or peacefully docked at the shipyard, situated far away from the space station.
I sensed the elevator stop as it arrived at the space station. Upon the doors opening, we ventured into the bustling corridors of the station. It always astounds me how this place was constructed and fully operational in just two years. The stunning view of space and everything beyond it captivated me. As I mentioned before, there is still much progress to be made in transforming Earth into a fortress, as SUITS and the Terran Federation have prioritized building from the ground up. In the distance, I could spot at least six operational orbital gun platforms.
I suddenly felt a tug on my arm, jolting me out of my distraction. Asuka came into my view, her expression filled with concern. She firmly wrapped her arms around mine. "I wish we could stay," I confessed.
"I know," I replied.
We savored the moment together before joining the rest of the group in the corridor. Daisuke and Kokoro led the way as we slowly entered the meeting room, which was gradually being occupied by selected members of SUITS. I observed Viktor Krauss, Lee Miyoung, and Isabel Macedo sitting together. Asuka and I joined them. I had met Viktor, Miyoung, and Isabel a couple of years ago during my quest to find the Deck of Clubs, and they have remained by my side ever since.
Zion Aurelien, known on Earth as Shiro Watoga, abruptly entered the meeting room just as the last remaining seats were being occupied. Shiro Watoga, a teacher in training, positioned himself in the center of the room and patiently awaited for the room to become silent. Among the attendees, I noticed familiar faces such as Nehir Dogan seated beside Buwan Valencia and Imani Zammit. Nehir waved at me. It became silent a few minutes later.
Zion spoke abruptly, breaking the silence. "Good morning, everyone, and welcome," he uttered, his gaze fixed on us. "Today marks the day we embark on our long-awaited mission." Zion then shifted his focus towards me. "Issei, why don't you kick things off?"
I stood up from my seat and walked towards the center of the room. As the lights dimmed, I turned around to face a hundred specially chosen audience members. A projection of the Milky Way Galaxy appeared, revealing our focal point. "I want to extend a warm welcome to all of you for our final meeting before we begin taking action. Although our objective to support our allies in the stairs within two years hasn't quite gone according to plan, we have made progress in the last four months.”
I continued, "I would like to express my gratitude to everyone here for their patience with me, considering my lack of experience compared to the more seasoned players in this group. About a year ago, I proposed the idea of dividing the group into three teams of four squads, but only a few of you rejected the idea. Now, my team of four squads will be assisting our allies, The Vraan's, in the Niturdan System to reclaim their colony world, Bisonet. While we assist the Vraan's, we will also keep an eye out for the whereabouts of the Deck of Hearts and deal with General Viphons, the Queen of Spades, and their fleet."
The first squad of Team One comprises Viktor Krauss, Isabel Macedo, Lee Miyoung, and myself. The second squad includes Sizwe Zivai, Xiuying Huang, Buwan Valencia, and Davuth Oum. The third squad consists of Ingrid Hofmann, Onon Khan, Intan Murib, and Miles Grant. The fourth and final squad is made up of Ann Younghee, Jade Dupont, Kiri Whiongi, and Talei Noelani.
Each member acts as a leader within their squad, diligently vetting and selecting two more members to compose a trio within the squad. Instead of being accompanied solely by Isabel and Miyoung, I myself will also be joined by eight additional members who will serve as scouts and guards during our expedition. Occasionally, I will collaborate on a mission with Xiuying, Miles, and Younghee, and vice versa for the rest of the team. We are not limited to working exclusively with the same individuals.
"Sizwe, I want to thank you for joining us on this expedition," I said. "Although I had requested Queen Noxolo's assistance, she has chosen to remain on Earth and sent you instead."
"I am following the Empress's orders, Kobayashi," Sizwe replied. "I will do my best to assist you and the others."
"Thank you, Sizwe. I would also like to express my gratitude to everyone who accepted my invitation. It wasn't an easy task," I continued, addressing the group. "Next, Team Two will be traveling to the neutral planet of Xeanides in the Castor System. Their mission will involve working undercover as representative diplomats. Xeanides is considered the center of the Milky Way Galaxy, serving as a hub for both allies and enemies, including various alien individuals who call it home. Our allies hold significant influence on the planet, just as our enemies do. On the planet, they will be meeting Rax's contact, a man named Xas who runs a tavern. This tavern will serve as our main base of operations. Please be cautious, as not everyone outside the tavern will be friendly.”
Team Two consist of four squads. Squad One is Asuka Shigihara, Li Fen, Diwata Baccay, and Animal Patel. Squad Two consist of Miyagawa Akane, Park Haeun, Mave Gallagher, and Sasha Levitsky. Squad Three consists of Imani Zammit, Daniela Angelov, Dominique Jackson, and Rindra Velo. The fourth and last squad consist of Nehir Dogan, Tuyen Pham, Freya Ragnarsdottir, and Penelope Castellanos.
I proceeded with my speech, placing emphasis on the following key points: "Though some of us are venturing to the Milky Way Galaxy, our highest priority remains the defense of Earth, our only home among the stars. Despite Earth seeming to possess ample resources, it is clear that our defenses are inadequate. The Shadow Clubs have ominously remained silent for two years, lurking in the shadows and patiently waiting for an opportunity to exploit any weaknesses in our defenses. We must not forget that Altus Xaba, also known as 'The Superior Old One' and the leader of the Shadow Clubs, still controls half of North Africa and is engaged in conflict with United South Africa and Empress Xaba. We still have no updates on Joker Squads, Sang Hwang, and Ranzell Kackzut, also known as Raquel Gustov, since the African Assault. We must remain vigilant, for we are uncertain when they might resurface."
Team Three consists of four squads. Squad one consist of Daisuke Modegi, Kim Seunghoon, Photsi Hathai, and Koh Tan. Squad two consist of Kokoro Tanaka, Klauss Zimmermann, Isabella Borgia, and Juan Reyes. Squad Three consist of Kumiko Kobo, Hideki Ishiakawa, Nanako Ito, Sho Nagano, Ren Ito, and Andrew Taylor. Squad Four consist of Noxolo Xaba, Bayu Igwe, Charles Miller, and Nala Okeke.
Team Three remains on Earth to defend it, though it is not only their responsibility. It has been decided that a majority of SUITS will defend the planet from future threats. Team One and Team Two will be supported by a small fleet force consisting of half a million units, including both SUITS and human soldiers. Although the numbers may seem large, they are actually quite modest. The Establishment has 9 million human reserves on standby and 6 million active military forces deployed worldwide. Additionally, there are three million active SUIT units stationed around the globe, with hundreds of trillions in stasis awaiting deployment. The details of these trillions are classified and known only to the highest levels of the SUITS organization.
The Establishment was founded in 2079, after the African Invasion occurred. Upon the disbandment of the United Nations, its delegates partnered with The Establishment to create the Terran Federation, in conjunction with the Army, Navy, and Air Force. It is worth mentioning that, unlike the United Nations, The Establishment cooperates harmoniously with SUITS and other nationalities. I believe that if there was no impending threat to the planet, The Establishment would have still emerged, while the United Nations continued to function as it always had.
The star map disappeared, and the lights above illuminated the room. "I have been asked multiple times about our return to Earth," I stated. "What we can learn from past assessments is that ancient civilizations before Mesopotamia, Greece, Egypt, China, and others helped our alien allies in the stars. Although those civilizations did not return, individuals like Nehir Dogan, Jade Dupont, and many others did come back home." I sighed. “Our mission is to locate our high-value target and weaken the influence of the Ace of Spades in the Milky Way Galaxy. It may take five years, ten years, or even fifty years. I am unsure of when we will return home, but I can assure you that we will eventually do so." There was a pause following my words. "With this final assessment, the meeting is adjourned," I concluded.
I reclined in my bed, relishing the tranquility of the exclusive chamber I had acquired. Beside me, Asuka lay ensconced in a delicate, white sheet, with both of us unabashedly disrobed underneath. The gossamer fabric elegantly displayed her slender and ethereal figure. We shared our last hour in utter seclusion. Silently, I watched as she toyed with my fingers, occasionally nervously nibbling on them.
"This part of you belongs to me," she murmured, gently guiding my hand to her cheek. "Every aspect of you is mine, Issei." Asuka drew out my name slowly. We remained in absolute silence, our gaze locked onto one another.
"When we return," Asuka gently but firmly held my hand. "What would you like to do first?" Her gentle eyes locked onto mine, and I could see her holding back tears.
I teased her, saying, "I want to eat my favorite food, see my family, and maybe go to the sauna."
"What about me?" she softly complained.
I chuckled and leaned closer to her, giving her a quick kiss before pulling away. "How about we have a date night in the city?" I suggested confidently. "Alternatively, we could spend the entire day together in bed, indulging in multiple intimate sessions."
She giggled shyly and buried a part of her face in the sheets. "I would love to spend time doing the second option, Issei," Asuka whispered boldly before reaching out and kissing my cheek. “I wish we can stay like this forever.” She whispered softly.
“I know.”
We departed from our private quarters, our arms linked and our bodies close together. In the final moments, we simply enjoyed each other's company as we made our way to the hangar, our next destination. As we approached, we noticed Kumiko leaning against the wall, engaging in a flirtatious interaction with someone who looked familiar. It was Taishi, standing close to her. She flirted back, wearing a bright smile and playfully touching his hand.
Asuka and I first met Taishi at the festivities in Xaba's palace two years ago. Aikawa had insisted that they were together, a claim that we both agreed with. However, whenever we spotted Kumiko and Taishi in public, she vehemently denied any romantic involvement with him. But in private, it was clear from her flirting body language that they were indeed a thing even though it’s not officially announced. Asuka had never heard anything from Kumiko about participating in any personal activities together, and Kumiko denied it when questioned. However, both Asuka and I couldn't dismiss the sensation that she was being untruthful with us.
As we came into view, she promptly pushed Taishi's hand away, displaying her embarrassment. It was apparent from her expression that she was not discreet about her relationship with Taishi. She and Taishi accompanied us to our destination, later joined by Nanako, Hideki and Sho.
"Kumiko, we should arrange a double date when we get back," teased Asuka.
"I've already told you that we're not dating," stammered Kumiko in embarrassment.
"Whatever you want," Asuka continued teasing.
We entered a massive hangar consisting of two docked starships, while logistics specialists and engineers hurriedly stored the remaining materials into the starships and hovercrafts. Daisuke and Kokoro were already there, standing between the starships.
"Glad you could finally join us," Daisuke said. "I hope your last minutes were intimate." I didn't answer him. Daisuke probably knew that I went last go with Asuka before our final departure. He continued, "As you can see behind me are two state-of-the-art stealth space starships co-developed by SUITS and The Establishment. Each of them has a hangar, first armory, cargo/storage, and engineering sector, which can accommodate twelve vehicle hovercrafts, six smaller advanced light single cockpit starfighters, and two transport and ground vehicles at your service.
"The lower levels consist of the research, tech, and bio lab, with a lock feature in case of any incidents. This is why it's located on the lower levels. The mid-level includes the med bay, a second armory, a mess hall/cohabitable meeting/living area, and single private crew quarters that extend to the top level. We have also added a private meeting room for more serious conversations. Let's not forget the airlock and the escape pods implemented into the starships. The next sector is the bridge, where your personal pilot will steer the ship using an operational navigational system. It is tailored to everyone's preferences."
Daisuke then continued, "Now, let me introduce these very important people standing next to me."
They introduced themselves to us, saying, "Hello, we are Noah and Nora Tinkerer." In unison,  Noah added, "Noah Tinkerer will be accompanying Issei Kobayashi in the engineering bay." Nora spoke next, "And Nora Tinkerer will be assisting Asuka Shigihara in the engineering bay.”
“They are here to maintain and fix your weapons at any means necessary with whatever limited supplies in store for them..” Daisuke said. “I have an email waiting for both of you when you step into your ships. I’ll leave it to you. When you done reading them, we will set up a meeting to discuss about it. I wish both of you and the others good luck on your mission.” Daisuke and Kumiko departed, leaving Kumiko and me in the hangar. Kumiko kindly handed me and Asuka two sets of photos. The first photo portrayed a group of my friends, while the second one captured me and Asuka wearing our lovely kimonos.
"You two look like a newly married couple," Kumiko remarked, her eyes welling up with envy. “I’m going to miss both of you.” The girls embraced each other as they bid their tearful farewells. I tenderly hugged Hideki and Sho before they exited our presence.
“I’m miss them as well.” I said, watching them leave. She agreed with me.
We bid her a tearful goodbye as they walked away, leaving us alone. We turned around to face what had been haunting us for the past two years. Asuka and I spent the last two years preparing for this moment and  use every single second of those precious time to be together. Slowly, we proceeded forward onto a wharf between the two starships. She held onto my arms tightly, refusing to let go.
"Please, Issei, don’t hurt yourself out there," warned Asuka. "I can't protect you." We stopped near the entrance of our starship and she locked eyes with me, her arms around my shoulder and mine around her waist. She whispered, "I would hate to see you vanish from my life."
"Don't worry about me, you chose Ingrid to join my team, so keep an eye on me," I chuckled and whispered softly. "She'll protect me."
"Don't forget about me," teased Isabel as she walked past our intimate moment.
"Viktor as well," said Viktor, walking past us.
"Maybe me?" added Miyoung, "Probably not, though."
"Don't worry," Aikawa said confidently as she walked past us. "I won't let Issei flirt with other sexy space aliens along the way. I'll make sure those space hotties focus on me instead!" Aikawa laughed.
I sighed in defeat. "And them as well."
Asuka giggled for a moment and stayed silent, continuing to lock eyes with me. Tears began to stream down her face, and she couldn't bring herself to remove her arm from around my shoulder. She solemnly whispered, "I love you, Issei."
Confidently and loudly, I replied, "I love you, Asuka."
We shared one last longing and intimate kiss on the lips.
We were the last passengers to board our assigned starship. As I turned around, I noticed Asuka standing in her starship, waving at me. She held up a photo of us, and I did the same. Every second counted. Tears were visible in her eyes as the door slowly closed, eventually sealing shut. That was the last time I would physically see her face for a long time. I stood there for several minutes, simply gazing at the large door.
"Kobayashi," Aikawa murmured, but I didn't respond. "Issei," he said, uttering my name again. Aikawa gently rested his hand on my shoulder, witnessing the tears streaming down my face. I remained silent, and eventually, his hand slipped away from my shoulder. I tightly held the photo in my hand, keeping it close to my heart. Aikawa turned around and positioned himself in front of me, giving me the space to weep alone.
After a few minutes, I wiped my tears and whispered, "Yes, I understand." While heading towards the bridge, my teammates and Aikawa joined me on the way. I passed by various familiar and unfamiliar faces in the living room, all of them waiting for us to depart. As the starship disconnected from its designated spot and drifted away from the hangar, I felt a sensation. Upon reaching the bridge, I realized that we were suspended in space, having departed from the hangar bay. Through the clear window, I caught a glimpse of our home, the blue planet, growing more distant. As Asuka's starship merged with the others, it veered away from us. My starship connected with five other massive vessels that had been waiting for our arrival. Before saying goodbye to Earth, I took one last sorrowful glance at the place I called home. "I'm going to miss this," I said wistfully.
"Same here," Aikawa reassured.
As my gaze shifted away from Earth, my starship docked seamlessly into the belly of the capital ship’s hanger, while observing the other starships swiftly vanish from sight. Just before we initiated warp, Asuka's voice resonated through the ship's communication system. "This is Leader 2, Shigihara Asuka, reporting for duty," she said.
I cleared my throat and responded with clarity, "This is Leader 1, Kobayashi Issei, reporting for duty. Good luck out there, Leader 2."
"And to you too, Leader 1," Asuka replied.
Through the private coms, I heard static emitting from my communication device.
"And Issei," Asuka spoke through the private coms, "This is meant for your ears only." She paused briefly. "I love you so much, Issei."
I tapped my coms and replied in a hushed tone, "And I love you too, Asuka."
Her starship, accompanied by her small fleet, then warped out of Earth territory, leaving me with only the sound of static through my private coms. I also heard a low humming sound emanating from the capital ship, signifying our departure from Earth's territory. Thus, our mission had officially begun.
