So I have this enormous bottle of acetaminophen (which is Tylenol, but less expensive without the brand name), and it says Acetaminophen on enormous letters on the front of the bottle. But in the upper corner of the label, it also says “contains acetaminophen,” and I just
…yeah, I sure hope it does.
#I’m just so confused#I know it’s probably regulations that there needs to be a warning#but isn’t the fact that the whole bottle is called acetaminophen enough??#acetaminophen#cw drugs#just in case

C’est La Vie: 4
Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Reader
Warnings: Alcohol, drunkness, vomiting, mentions of sex
Word Count: 1.7k+
This is my chapter for the ficwars!! My lovely partner is @delicatelyherdreamsand the prompt for this chapter is “Drunken confession”.
After the… Events at the party, you’d began the process of avoiding Bucky.
It was way more difficult considering you lived with him.
The first night, after you told him not to follow you, you’d went to your friend Wanda’s place and stayed there for a night. Afterwards, you specifically scheduled all of your movements in the apartment for when you knew Bucky wasn’t home.
Night time was the only problem.. So you made an effort to keep your door locked and your music loud enough to signify that Bucky was not welcome. Texts and calls were ignored and any social event where you knew Bucky would be in attendance were avoided.
Needless to say, you weren’t doing all that much anymore.
It’d been two weeks since the party when everything came to light. Up till then, the whole avoiding business had been going well. You’d come home late one night after a productive session at the library making sure you were ready for your American Literature test. Book in one hand, you moved to the fridge to see if Steve had left any extra food for you in the fridge when you heard the front door open once more, a drunk Bucky stumbling through the door.
He was an absolute mess.
His brown locks of hair were a mess and his eyes were bloodshot. Bucky smelt like he’d drank an entire bar and by the way his clothes were disheveled and semi damp looking, you wouldn’t be surprised if he actually had.
He was moving to his room, eyes squinted against the lights you’d turned on when you’d come in. At the sound of movement in the kitchen, his attention quickly turned to you and his face went through so many emotions you couldn’t differentiate what was happiness, guilt, and sadness.
He changed his direction so that it was right to you. When his arms wrapped around you tightly, you didn’t have the heart to push him away.. He was so miserable and even though you were mad at him, he was still one of your best friends in the whole world.
You wrapped your arms around his shoulders gently as he buried his face in the crook of your neck. You felt a little wet and you realized that he was crying quietly into your shoulder, mumbling something. It took you a few moments to realize he was saying “I’m sorry, it was all a mistake” on repeat.
“Bucky, let’s get you to bed,” You speak quietly as you tried to pull away from him.. But his arms around your waist kept you close to him, the man refusing to budge even an inch as he shook his head.
“No.. Not till you forgive me..” There was a childish side of him that came out when he was drunk.. And it seemed that that part of his personality was coming to light now.
“Buck.. You know I can’t do that yet.. I need space,” A quiet sigh escapes your lips and his grip tightens around you as he shakes his head.
“But you didn’t even let me explain, Y/N.. Could you.. Could you please listen to your right hand man? Just this once, Cap, and if you don’t wanna hear after that then I’ll leave you alone for as long as you want.” He always seemed to reference your childhood game to make things more nostalgic and emotional, as if he knew that it would always work..
It wasn’t fair, and you knew that.. But you also did storm out without any room for explanation, sharing one of the most passionate kisses in your life before avoiding him nonstop. Your lips tingled just a bit at the thought of the kiss but you quickly shook off that thought before you nodded slightly.
“Okay.. But first you need to change and shower.. And drink some water.”
“Okay.”
Bucky had sobered up just a bit in the time it took him to go through with your requests. The crying had stopped and he was able to walk in a mostly straight line too, which was quite a bit of progress for him.
You’d sat down at the kitchen table, nibbling on a noodle from the pasta that Steve had left in the fridge. Once more, you were rereading your novel for American Literature only to be interrupted by Bucky moving to sit down across from you.. His hair was now damp from a shower and while his cheeks were still flushed from all the drink he had, he seemed a lot more concentrated.. As if he was on a mission.
You were closing your book up when he spoke, causing you to do a double take.
“I didn’t sleep with Natasha that night.. I haven’t slept with her in a while, actually..”
It was blunt and not very articulate.. But it got the point across and any kind of weight you felt on your shoulder was slowly lifting away, “That doesn’t answer the question of you being covered in lipstick on my bed, Barnes.” The cold tone was making its way back into your voice.. The topic was still sensitive to you considering the circumstances of your undying feelings and the kiss. “It also doesn’t explain why you were in my room and why your shirt was unbuttoned.”
Bucky took a deep breath as he sipped from his water cup before continuing, “I.. We almost did.. My room was occupied and Natasha decided to drag me to yours.. When I realized where we were.. And the reason I was even willing to be with Natasha in the first place.. I stopped. But she was all pouty and whatnot since now I was rejecting her after she stopped rejecting me so I had to explain myself n’all.. And then you, with your impeccable timing, came in right then and there..” The man gave you a hopeful look after explaining himself.. Maybe it was acceptable.. It was true after all.. You just had to see that and accept him and forgive him.
The reasoning of it all was barely glazed over, however.. He told you a synopsis but left out any detail you’d considered vital to the story.. And as a stickler for detail, your brow raised just a bit before you spoke.
“What was the reason you were with Natasha then? The thing you barely mentioned?” Your tone was almost accusatory.. When did this happen between you and Bucky there was never this much animosity or any kind of negative emotion between the two of you.
“I-Uhm..” He cleared his throat, all of a sudden feeling very uncomfortable with talking. Bucky did bring this upon himself, however, and you weren’t about to let him forget that.
“It seems to be pretty simple, Bucky.. If you can give me a reason you were with Natasha in the first place, maybe I’ll understand your reasoning for all of this.. Omitting things you clearly know are important isn’t going to help anyone.. In fact, you’re probably just wasting both your and my own time with this..” You got up from the table, getting your things together once more before moving away from the table to get to your room.
Once more, however, you were stopped by a familiar grip on your wrist.. And your mind jumped back to that amazing kiss once more. His arms wrapped around your torso.. The warmth of his lips against yours to contrast the rain..
But you quickly snapped yourself out of it once more to maintain the glare you had on your face.. An intimidation factor plus a perfect display of your emotions.
“I did it cause’ I love you, Y/N.” And just like that, his great big secret was out in the open. A secret that was so similar to the one you’d been keeping from him.
Your eyes widened at his words and you were about to say something.. However you were interrupted by Bucky doubling over and a retching noise.. Only to feel warm liquid spread all over your shoes and socks.
Lovely.
Bucky woke up with a quiet groan and a pounding headache. His eyes slowly opened only to be greeted by a cup of water and a bottle of acetaminophen. The man reached out and grabbed the bottle, slowly popping it open and taking a couple of pills before downing them with the water, finishing off the rest of the glass fairly quickly.
He remembered bits and pieces of last night.. Coming home to you, talking, and then vomiting over your shoes.. Exactly what you talked about with him was presently just.. Not even there..
The smell of bacon drew Bucky out of his thoughts as he rubbed his eyes.. But first things first, he had to get the awful aciding taste of vomit out of his mouth.
Bucky exited the room after completing his morning regime slowly only to be greeted with you in the kitchen rather than Steve. There was already a bowl of orange slices and strawberries on the table with an empty plate alongside a cup of coffee that was still steaming and made the way he likes it. “Y/N? Doll what’re you doing?”
You didn’t respond, not even looking over your shoulder as you continued working. You did, however, hold up a finger, signifying that you needed a moment to finish whatever you were doing.
He tried being quiet after that, moving to sit down and accepting everything that was implied to be his.. However it was obvious that he was nothing but confused considering the obnoxious shuffling that Bucky called walking moving between a few places and not just to the table where everything was laid out for him.
You smirked to yourself as you transferred the bacon to a plate for the man to help himself to. You’d be eating as well so hopefully he didn’t pig out too much.
When you brought the bacon to the table, you set it right in front of the man before pouring cereal into two bowls and adding the milk. After everything was done and set up you leaned forward and pressed the softest of kisses to Bucky’s forehead.
“I love you too, Buck.”

World's “Safest Drug” Still a Danger to Our Livers
Acetaminophen, most commonly sold under the brand name Tylenol, is one of the most popular over-the-counter medications ever sold. In fact, 52 million Americans reach for a bottle of Tylenol every week to knock out aches and pains.1
And most people have a bottle tucked away in a desk drawer or their purse.
And that's not a bad thing. There's no problem taking an occasional tablet or two if you have a headache or slight fever.
In fact, Tylenol is considered the safest drug ever sold. More Tylenol tablets have been taken since it came out in 1955 than there are grains of sand in the world.
I tell my patients that the pills inside this little red and white bottle can do more than just knock out your headaches. So even though it's okay to take on occasion, I help my patients knock out aches and pains with natural remedies… ones that are safe for your whole body.
You see, each little dose of Tylenol puts a tiny, infinitesimal toxic burden on your liver. Because some people have taken it over a long period of time, this toxic build-up in our bodies keeps growing.
By now, you probably already know about acetaminophen's connection to liver damage.
In fact, this “harmless” drug is responsible for:2,3
100,000 calls to Poison Control Centers across the country
80,000 emergency room visits every year
26,000 hospitalizations
500 deaths
This can happen even when you take Tylenol for just a few weeks at the recommended dosage.
Most times, people don't recognize the signs of liver damage brought on by acetaminophen because they take a while to appear. Or the symptoms are mistaken for something else, like the flu.
Early symptoms are loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting. More serious symptoms are abdominal pain, convulsions, diarrhea, irritability, jaundice and coma.
Liver damage can turn into liver failure in just one day.
Sad thing is, the FDA knew about acetaminophen's liver danger since 1977. But it took almost 40 years before the agency demanded a warning be added to the drug label.
But there's more to this dangerous OTC drug than liver damage…
Each year up to 65,000 Americans die from taking painkillers - including the over-the-counter ones. And, a recent review of more than 1,800 studies showed that regular use of acetaminophen increases your risk of mortality by a whopping 60%!4
When my patients tell me they take a painkiller like Tylenol once, twice and even three times a day, I tell them there are natural solutions for pain that are not only safer, but way more effective.
I've never been a fan of using daily doses of drugs to prevent disease. Especially when there are safe, natural alternatives.
Soothe Away Pain and Keep Your Liver Healthy with 3 Natural Remedies
Three of my favorite natural pain relievers have been used for centuries… and in some cases, even longer. They will help you soothe away your aches, move more easily and get back to a more pain-free life.
Use the original aspirin. White willow bark was the “first” aspirin. Like its name suggests, this natural pain reliever comes from the bark of a tree native to Europe and Asia.
Its use dates back to ancient Egypt. Even Hippocrates, the “Father of Medicine,” gave it to his patients to reduce inflammation.
The reason white willow bark works is that it contains salicin. It's the exact same compound found in aspirin. It's just nature's version of it.
Studies show it not only relieves arthritis pain but also increases mobility in the back, knees, hips and other joints.5 And a study in the American Journal of Medicine found it effective for lower back pain.6
White willow bark won't upset your stomach like aspirin might. You can find white willow bark extract in health food stores or online.
I recommend 240 mg per day.
Ease pain with arnica. When I sometimes have pain from old injuries, I apply a yellow herb known as arnica or wolf's bane. If willow isn't working for you the way you expect, consider arnica. It's an anti-inflammatory that can relieve chronic joint pain.
Plus it has a healing compound called thymol. This stimulates your white blood cells to get rid of extra fluid trapped in your joints. The excess fluid that causes swelling. After the swelling goes down, your body takes over and can finish the healing process better.
One study looked at 204 people with osteoarthritis in their hands. It found that people who used arnica gel experienced just as much relief as the group that took an OTC painkiller - but without the side effects. In another study, 79 people with arthritis in their knees used arnica gel. They felt less pain and stiffness and had a better range of motion.8
Use every part of the pineapple. Pineapple is good for us, in general, but I recommend pineapple as an add-on for natural pain relief if willow and arnica aren't doing enough for you.
One of the reasons why I like pineapple is because it has an enzyme called bromelain that stops aches and pains. In fact, studies show bromelain is as effective as some commonly used NSAID drugs for lowering osteoarthritis pain.
Researchers studied patients living with the chronic pain of osteoarthritis. They gave one group an enzyme compound with 90 mg of bromelain. The other group took a prescription anti-inflammatory.
Bromelain was just as effective as Big Pharma's darling without the side effects.
Another study showed that bromelain was even effective at easing the pain, tenderness and swelling of an acute injury.9
