Not me not caring about wrestling but seeing a clip from Iron Claw where at the end, Kevin says to his sons, "I used to be a brother...but I'm not a brother anymore.", still has me crying.
#like looking up the family this is based on is just...heart breaking#they all went through so much and now only kevin is left#and the fac that the film actually left out one of the brothers#aka chris whose life was ultimately meshed with one of his brothers in film#as both irl sadly ended their lifes#but in film you never see chris so you only see this other brother end his life#like i do wonder why he was cut#some are saying its cause the film thought another tragedy would be unbelieable but like#if true thats pretty bullshit#it happened sadly tragedy doesnt believe in realism

grumpy x sunshine w/ chris please! đđĽşâŁď¸
ââ ŕ¨ŕ§ !ăa small blurb with grumpy!you and sunshine!chris <3
ăăăăăăăăăđđđđđ đđđđđđđđđ x reader
The living room was bathed in warm sunlight, the golden rays spilling through the large windows and casting a soft glow on the cozy space. It was a perfect Saturday; quiet, slow, and entirely theirs. Chris didnât have to film any videos with his brothers today, so he had been looking forward to spending some quality time with her. However, despite the idyllic setting, Y/N had been more grumpy than usual.
They started the day with a late breakfast, Chris happily humming to himself as he tried - not very successfully - to make pancakes, while Y/N leaned against the counter, arms crossed, her brows furrowed as she watched him with an unreadable expression. She barely responded to his attempts at conversation, offering only grunts and short answers.
Chris, ever the yapper and sunshine, didnât let it dampen his mood. He simply chatted away, talking to himself or telling her things, without receiving an answer back, filling the silence with his usual brightness, but he couldn't shake the feeling that something was off.
As the day wore on, Y/N continued to hover around him, never too far away but never engaging fully either. Her frown deepened with every hour, and Chris could feel her gaze on him as he moved around the house, tidying up or settling down with his phone. It was like she was in a constant state of contemplation, almost brooding, and it tugged at his heartstrings.
Finally, as they sat in the living room, Chris sprawled up on the grey couch watching some random movie on the television while Y/N sat on the other end, curled up and arms still crossed - only uncrossing to fish her phone and navigate through it - staring out the window with a tense expression, he couldnât take it anymore. He grabbed the remote control, muting the movie and turning to look at her, his eyes soft and concerned.
"Hey, youâve been in a mood all day." He said gently, tilting his head slightly as he observed her. "Whatâs wrong?"
Y/N didnât immediately respond. She just kept her gaze fixed on something outside, her jaw clenched. When she finally did speak, her voice was low, almost a mumble.
"Nothing."
Chris narrowed his eyes slightly, unconvinced. He watched her for a few moments, his mind racing as he tried to figure out what could be bothering her. And then, it hit him. His eyes widened slightly as the realization dawned on him, and he couldnât help the soft smile that spread across his face.
"Oh!" He exclaimed, his tone light and teasing. "Is it because I didn't give you your morning hug, baby? You want a hug?"
Y/Nâs reaction was immediate. She rolled her eyes, turning her head more to the side as if to hide the faint blush that was creeping up her neck.
"No..." She muttered, her expression still frowning, though the edges of her grumpiness seemed to soften just a little.
Chris laughed, the sound bright and full of affection.
"You couldâve just asked, you big baby." He said, his voice dripping with amusement.
"Shut up." Y/N mumbled, her voice softer now, almost shy, but she kept her arms crossed, trying to maintain her grumpy facade even as her cheeks flushed a deeper red.
Chris couldnât hold back his laughter. He crawled over the upholstery to the other side of the sofa, his heart swelling with love as he looked at her stubborn expression, the one that always made him fall in love all over again every time.
Without another word, he wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her into a tight hug. She resisted for a split second, still trying to maintain her angry persona, but it didnât last long. Her arms uncrossed almost instinctively, wrapping around him as she buried her face in his neck, letting out a sigh of defeat.
"See?" Chris whispered against her ear, his lips curving into a smile as he started planting soft kisses all over her face, going from her jaw do her cheek. "You just needed a hug."
"Shut up." Y/N mumbled again, but this time, there was no bite to her words.
She let out a low, contented hum as Chris continued to pepper her face with kisses, pressing her body between the sofa and his body.
Chris laughed softly, ignoring her half-hearted protests of how wet his lips were and how much he was squeezing her as he pulled back just enough to look into her eyes. They were softer now, with something far more vulnerable.
"I love you, you know." He whispered, his fingers gently brushing through her hair, massaging her scalp.
Y/Nâs eyes softened even more, her frown completely melting away as she finally allowed herself to relax in his embrace.
"Yeah." She murmured, her voice barely audible. "I know... I love you too."
Chris smiled, leaning in to press one last kiss to her lips, a gentle and lingering touch that made Y/Nâs heart skip a beat. She pulled him closer, tightening her arms around him as if to keep him there forever, the warmth of his love seeping into every corner of her being.

a new kind of love m.sturniolo
the sequel to tell him.
pairings: matt x fem!reader
warnings: use of y/n, some angst, cursing, mentions of anxiety, cheating, mixed feelings, drinking/alcohol
summary: matt and y/n canât confront eachother after she cheats on her boyfriend with him. but what happens when he finds out..?
â..but i canâtâ
itâs been 2 weeks since that day. they couldnât avoid eachother forever.
before this, the night ended with matt going to the bathroom to clean up. he returned to see y/n gone from his room. he assumed she went back to nickâs.
she was out before he woke up the next morning, no explanation left.
âwhatâs up with you?â nick shouted.
matt had just had a sudden outburst on his brothers while filming a new video. they were in the car talking, chris telling a story about one of their friends.
he was upset, no he was pissed. pissed at her.
he didnât want to hate her but he felt like he did. she kept playing games with him.
âhello?â nick smacked mattâs shoulder from the backseat to awaken him from his mind.
âwhat, bro?!â matt replied sternly.
âdude, turn the camera off for a second.â chris obliged nicks words and reached over to press stop recording. âseriously, matt. i get like the whole attitude and misery is your thing, but that wasnât for show. i could tell.â
âyea, you good?â chris added.
matt was still with his head low, avoiding their stares. he couldnât just tell him he fucked their bestfriend, now he thinks heâs in love with her. especially when she just announced her new relationship.
âiâm good..â he whispered. nick and chris spared a glance that read he was lying. but being so tired and ready for bed, they excused it and continued filming.
the ride home was almost fully silent, occasional conversation from nick and chris along with the radio, but matt stayed silent and went straight to bed once they arrived.
meanwhile, y/n was stressing hardcore. what could she expect? she did it to herself.
sheâd been distant from the triplets as well as kian. her phone would display messages from nick, or their group chat, but she would swipe them away and continue her day.
it was around midnight when she received a message from a unsaved number.
:hey iâm having a party at this club that was rented out. would love for you to come!
the next message was the address and other details. she never gave her number out to anyone, so she knew it was someone of acquaintance.
a party could clear her mind. one night of fun wouldnât hurt right? âŚ
âgirl where have you been? i havenât heard from you in a minute!â tara was at the party and the first to greet y/n. they didnât know eachother that well, only meeting a few times because of the triplets, but they still clicked.
âjust trying to get by honestly, but you look hot!â
the two embraced, tara smelling of strong liquor.
âjake is over there, if you wanna say hi. not sure where anyone else is though, iâm drunk!â she shouted playfully and ran away to get more drinks.
standing in the corner of the dark club, lights flashed around her and the bodies present. she stood mostly to herself after saying hi to some friends.
she didnât really wanna drink, though it would pause the constant anxiety running through her body.
but something made her really wish she did.
ây/n! hey- iâve missed you!â
it was nick. thank goodness. for a second she thought it was matt. they look nearly identical.
âoh! hi nicky!â they squeezed eachother in a tight hug, soothing her nerves just a little.
a party always brings people together! even the ones you try to avoid.
trailing slowly behind him was chris. he hadnât noticed her, too busy greeting people along the way. she was mentally praying and begging to god matt wasnât with them.
nick brought her back to life, âwhat have you been up to? i really wanna catch up!â
âyea- itâs only been a few weeks nick,â she gulped
âi know, but we usually talk everyday?â
âiâm sorry, i just.. i have so much on my plate right now,â she peered behind nick to see chris had disappeared.
âtotally understandable. maybe we could hang- or do you wanna come spend the night? if youâre not busy, i have so much to tell you!â he appeared excited to catch up with her, smiling with each word.
she wanted to throw up on the spot. spending the night was a terrible idea. but she couldnât decline, it was her bestfriend and she never knew how to say no.. clearly.
âyea, i can..â she let out regretfully
nick couldnât tell this over the colors swishing past her face and the blaring music, so he nodded gratefully.
he stood by her side for a while, swaying to the music, she was looking around the room.
spotting chris, she quickly looked away noticing he saw her.
once she checked back, he was coming toward her and nick. but matt was right behind him. of course he was there, any other time he hated partying, but he was in the same boat as her.
panicking, she grabbed nick by the wrist and pulled him to the middle of the crowded dance floor. she started moving to the song, signaling him to follow her lead in which he did.
chris on the other hand turned back to matt confused if heâd seen. matt played it off. shaking his head and shrugging his shoulders.
in reality, he saw it all. he had his eyes on her the moment they walked in.
his chest tightened, he didnât expect her to be there.
his head started spinning all over again. he wanted to leave so eagerly, but he couldnât let her win.
he knew how he felt, he was just in denial.
chris began walking the opposite direction, making matt follow along before losing him.
in y/nâs head, she remembered the offer nick gave her. sheâs going to have to ride home with them. awesome.
nick grew tired of dancing. he shouted for her to follow him but she couldnât hear. he then put his arm around her shoulder to guide her through the crowd.
he led her to a small booth, the seats were glossy black with a few strangers occupying them. sitting down, âiâm so glad i caught you here, but iâm honestly ready to goâ
âagreed. i miss my babyâ
âkian? girl have you been too busy for him too?â nick asked
âno! i mean shadow!â
âoh the cat! sorry, lowkey forgot matt got you oneâ
speak of the devil! chris appeared around the corner from the booth, matt trailing behind like a shy child.
âiâve been looking for yâall!â chris yelled. he sat between nick and y/n, giving her a quick side hug by throwing his arm over her shoulder.
matt took the seat on her opposite side, being sure to leave a gap between them. she knew he was there, she just couldnât bare to look.
nick and chris joined conversation about their experience and if they were ready to head out.
chris whipped his head around to ask the two next to him if they were ready as well, only gaining nods.
âwhatâs wrong, you always sit in the front?â nick concerned as y/n started for the back seat of the suv. she knew it was common for her to fight with chris for the passenger seat, this time she didnât fight.
ânothing, i just know chris is gonna cry over it.â
âitâs fine, you can take it tonightâ chris added, lightly pushing her aside to climb in the backseat.
she smiled sarcastically and he shut the door.
sitting in the seat, matt was already behind the wheel starting the car. he didnât bother asking if everyone was good like he usually did. he just pulled off.
arriving to the home after an awkward ride, nick brought her to his room to change and sleep.
she wore one of his t-shirts and a pair of fluffy pajama pants with some type of animal printed all over them.
nick crashed as soon as he finished showering. she joined him when she was done hers, trying her best to fall asleep.
all she could think about was how things would go the following day. nick planned for them to all go out to eat and catch up. she knew something would probably go wrong.
on the other hand, she wondered how she truly felt about kian. he was so nice, he cared about her, and he was loyal. unlike her.
he was currently at his apartment, watching over shadow while she went to party.
she texted him on the drive back to the triplets place that she would be hanging out with them the next day, but she would be home after. he didnât mind.
suddenly she felt nauseous. becoming aware that matt was just a room away. the room she was once in. she knew if she wanted to stop feeling this way, she had to confront them both.
she didnât know if it was because she was sleep deprived, or just delusional, but she found her self sneaking out of nicks room.
soft socks hit the floor as she tip toed into the hallway. standing in front of mattâs bedroom door, she hesitated seeing the lights off from underneath.
she lifted her fist ready to knock.
the feeling of nausea suddenly went away, she came to her senses. she couldnât do it.
maybe it was her guilt, maybe it was her subconscious telling her matt was on the other side of the door, waiting to exit his room to talk to her too.
she would never know that though.
sunlight peeked through the curtains in every room of the house. nick was the first awake and went on his phone immediately. opening tiktok, the volume was on full blast, waking up the girl next to him.
âiâm so sorryâ he giggled while she groaned.
âwhat time is it?â she rubbed her eyes and sat up.
â9am, no oneâs gonna wake up anytime soonâ he reassured knowing chris and matt would wake up around noon after staying out late.
âoh.. well iâm up now.â
âoh- i was gonna ask you whereâd you go last night but iâm assuming it was to the bathroom or something?â nick asked, switching to instagram in the process.
the sound of her heartbeat could be heard in the quiet room, remembering what happened last night.
almost choking, she nodded, âyea.. bathroomâ
around 1:30pm, nick and y/n sat in the living room with chris. nick was on his laptop editing a video for their channel, chris was nearly falling back asleep on the separate chair, wrapped in a blanket.
she layed back with her legs curled to her side, watching nick work his magic.
matt was awake. he knew they were all in the other room. he just couldnât take the anxiety building up in his chest. he stood sitting on his bed, trying to clear his mind tapping through stories, though it only made things worse.
on nicks story was a selfie of him and y/n, the next was a video of her dancing and laughing at the camera last night.
he closed the app and threw his phone on the bed. he had to face it one way or another.
âgood-fucking-afternoon sleepyhead!â matt walked into the living room gaining remarks from nick.
matt hummed a response. the only seat available was right next to y/n.
they both swallowed nerves as he took the seat, leaving a distance.
nick interrupted this awkward moment, âi made reservations at 5 for us to eat, nothing too fancy but i wanna catch up!â
âsounds great..â she was barley moving, yet alone breathing. trying her best to avoid looking in mattâs direction.
chris groaned from his spot still trying to wake up.
minutes went by in silence. something unusual for the group.
âwas the hangover that bad? yâall barely even drank last night why are we so quiet?â nick blurted out.
no one responded. she finally turned to matt, he was already looking at her. she felt a different feeling this time. a mix of nervous and ..love?
it couldnât be. she loved him, but wasnât in love. right?
she took a shower, put on some spare clothes nick had of hers, and finished getting ready to go out.
she stood in the room until it was time to go. in fear of another weird encounter.
âare we ready?!â chris yelled out from the hallway.
âyes, yes we are.â nick opened the door to his room revealing himself and y/n. they were matching in all black outfits.
âyâall are ridiculous,â chris laughed looking them up and down.
they arrived to the dim restaurant and were seated in a booth.
nick was next to her while chris and matt sat across. nick caught her up on his love life and some drama while the other two were on their phones. after ordering, they enjoyed their meals together and shared other stories.
matt was quiet. almost completely. he would chime in here and there, or if he was asked a question.
she noticed this and felt guilty.
they collected the bill and payed, getting out the booth. it was a decent walk to the exit, they were on the upper level.
ây/n, howâs shadow? you need to bring him over before he gets too big!â of course chris had to mention the one thing that tied her to matt.
his head shot up to look at her waiting for her response.
âyea, heâs good, a little bit of a trouble maker though. heâs um.. heâs with kian right now..â
matt felt like heâd been punched in the gut. why did he expect any less? he wished that day he got shadow from the shelter, when he surprised her with him, she would finally be his. but kian was in the picture.
he was so deep into his thoughts he didnât notice chris and nick walking away from them.
âhold on-matt!â
âwhere you going?â
âbathroom. did you not just hear us?â chris barked. him and nick just explained they had to use the restroom.
matt stopped in his tracks, y/n assumed he would go with them. he just stood in front of the hallway to the restrooms, leaning against the wall across from her.
she looked anywhere but at him.
ây/n..â his voice was soft, almost a whisper
barley heard from the faint music and talking. there was no one else in the area they were in.
finally making eye contact.
âhmm?â she felt like crying.
âuh- whereâve you been? you didnât call or anything- you just disappeared,â he started, expecting a response.
âiâve been.. busy. you know that.â she looked down.
ây/n.â
nothing.
âreally? too busy to call- let alone text? the bare minimum!â his voice raising a bit as he stepped closer.
âmatt, why do you care?â she didnât mean for it to come out that way.
he was taken back a bit, âwhat? why do i care?! you know why i care, y/n. i care becaus-â
âalright! letâs go.â chris interrupted mattâs speech walking out the bathroom with nick following behind.
they walked right in between the two.
y/n looked at him before following them out.
matt drove them back to the house.
he went to his room, but so did chris and nick, y/n joining nick. âwanna help me edit this video? iâm kinda stuck and i want it to be fun.â nick mentioned. he grabbed his laptop and layed in bed next to her.
she wanted to confide in him about whatâs been going on. it wouldnât be a good idea though, he already knew too much about kian. she told nick everything. almost everything.
she was lost.
going to an outsider wouldnât help. a female friend would only encourage her to do the wrong thing. a family member would judge her. her only other choice was chris.
he knew matt more than anyone, but she couldnât just straight up tell him she fucked his brother, now she thinks sheâs in love with him.
âyea- hold on iâll be right back, i wanna ask chris something.. about shadow,â she lied. she didnât want nick to think she had a secret. he would force it out of her.
âchris?â she pushed the door that was already half way open. he was sat in the middle of his bed with music playing from a speaker.
he looked up and turned it down, âwhatâs up?â
âcan i ask you something? like in a serious matter.â
âof course. wait, as long as itâs not about like female body parts-â
âchris!â she shut the door, running over and smacking him on the arm.
âokay- okay! what is it?â
she thought for a moment on how to word it.
âhave you ever had to chose between two important people?â
âdude, iâm a triplet. what you think?â he replied sarcastically.
âyouâre so annoying. iâm serious, how do you know.. like who to chose?â
he looked her in the eye, âyou kinda just.. feel it? its kinda like knowing whatâs best for you- or them- who are we talking about here?â
nearly blurting out their names, she bit her tongue.
âum..â
âyou can tell me. i wonât snitch.â
âno- itâs confidential, just go on..â
he nodded, he examined her face for a second before continuing, âwell, you know how when you really love someone, nothing else matters but their happiness? if you feel like youâre falling for someone else, then you would chose that person, âcause if you truly loved the original person, you wouldnât think you love someone else.â
she took in what he said. it was rare to have conversations like this with chris, she enjoyed it.
âletâs say.. you love someone, but they love someone else, then what?â she added.
âyou let them be happy. even if youâve loved them for years and now youâre too late..â his gaze trailed down to his hands resting on the mattress. his expression saddened, he seemed to be familiar with the feeling.
she brushed it off, thinking it wasnât anything.
âoh.. thanks, chris. i really needed to just ask someone.â
he looked back at her, she was getting up from her spot ready to walk out.
âmhm. wait- y/n?â he stopped her.
âyeah?â still turned to the door.
âthis about matt and kian?â
frozen in her stance.
her chest nearly exploded from fear. âw-what? what do you mean? i- um, did he s- tell you something?â she faced him again.
ânah, i just know you guys fucked that day i came in his room looking for my hoodie. i just didnât wanna embarrass you..â
thereâs no way. he knew all this time.
âchris..â she didnât know what to say. she was terrified heâd ruin all of this.
he got up from the bed to walk toward her. âi didnât tell anyone, and i wonât. okay? donât worry.â
she nodded in relief.
âbut y/n,â she looked up at him. âyou need to make up your mind. i love you, but heâs my brother.â
sighing, he was right. chris loved his brother and didnât want him hurt in the end. regardless of how he felt on anything.
âi know..â
the night ended. she was back at her apartment. it was early morning around 7am.
the buzzer sounded in every room of the apartment.
âcoming- hold on!â
the door opened to reveal kian with shadow in a small black carrying bag.
âmy boys! come in,â she moved aside fighting the knot in her stomach. today was the day.
âhe was really fun, i noticed he loves tearing apart curtains.â kian stepped in having a seat in the living area. he took shadow out the bag letting him roam free.
âtuh! look at those!â she pointed to the white curtains covering the sunset window which had tears and scratches at the foot. kian chuckled, she leaned down to kiss his cheek before sitting.
âso, i wanted to talk to you..â she began. she trembled a bit with anxiety. kian was gentle when it came to serious topics, why was she terrified of his reaction? something was telling her this wasnât gonna go well.
âi wanted to talk to you too- you go first though.â
odd, what could he have to tell her?
she let out a breath, âokay! kian, i really love being with you.. i do, youâre amazing really and i appreciate everything youâve done for me but-â
the buzzer went off.
âoh, were you expecting someone?â he questioned, about to get up to answer for her.
âno.. i got it. one sec,â
she unlocked the door, slowly pulling it open trying to see who it was.
âmatt? what are you-â
his face was red, eyes were puffy and clear signs of stress was visible when he interrupted her, walking in a bit.
âi- i love you, y/n. i canât get you out of my head- itâs driving me insane! i donât know what youâre doing to me- ever since we had sex- even before that, iâve been so down bad for you!â he sobbed.
she was stunned.
she looked to her left, kian was stood up. she never seen him look so hurt, so betrayed. did he hear matt correctly?
matt turned to see what made y/n look so horrified.
kian and matt made eye contact.
âwhat?â
âkian.. i-â

Canât Hate You pt 1
Sturniolo Little Sister (SLS) X Nathan Doe
Warnings: Cussing, hitting, mentions of SA later in the series(and no, it was not Nate), etc.

SLS/Nâs POV
Today was the day that I was not looking forward to. All week Iâve been dreading this specific Saturday to come, and itâs unfortunately arrived.
Nathan Doe is coming to LA.
Heâs my brotherâs best friend, so they invited him to come stay a week over the summer.
But, me and Nate have never really gotten along all that well. I know this will sound petty, but something that happened in high school, that you just canât forgive people for.
âWhoâs excited?!?â Chris yells in the car on our way to the airport, putting his hands up in the air. Matt and Nick cheer in delight, having been waiting for this week for a long time.
âWhy so his big ass head can get in my way all weekend?â I say sarcastically, sighing then looking out my window.
Nick covers his mouth as he laughs at my snarky remark. Matt shakes his head while looking at the road.
But Chris turns to me and says.
âSLS/N, I know you two donât get a long very well, but at least try this week.â He says, giving me a pleading look.
I glance at him for a brief second before looking out the window again, not responding. He sighs before saying,
âplease sis? For me?â
I look back to see him giving puppy eyes. I roll my own before muttering a soft fine before we pulled up at the airport.
Nick and I stayed behind, filming Matt and Chris practically skipping through the airport corridors when they saw Nate.
âHis head is still just as big as I remember,â I say to Nick and the camera he held for Wednesday's vlog.
Nick laughs out loud, shuts the camera off, then walks over to greet Nate. He gives him a side hug once he manages to pry off my other two brothers.
Instead of giving him a hug, instead of saying hello, instead of making eye contact with him at all, I stand behind Nick, looking at the ground, wishing this would hurry up so I could go home.
"SLS/N," he says sternly, nodding in my direction.
I gave him a tight-lipped smile, making eye contact for about half a second, then went back to looking at the ground.
"Wow. awkward!" Matt says, Nate just rolls his eyes and plays it off. I however began walking to the car.
-
I sit in the way back of the van, both headphones in, drowning out the boy's conversation. Nick and Nate were in the back while Matt and Chris were in their usual seats.
Around 15 minutes later, I felt a sharp tap on the side of my leg. I look up to see Nate reaching back behind the seats to get my attention. I pull one headphone out.
"We're stopping at McDonalds, what do you want to eat?" He asks, looking annoyed.
"Don't fucking touch me," I say, hating the fact that he feels like he could touch me.
Not after what he did.
"Don't be a child, SLS/N. Just use your words and tell your brother what you want." He says, using a sarcastic baby voice near the end.
I roll my eyes and mumble a quiet,
"I'm not hungry."
Nick rolls his eyes and lets out an exasperated sigh, then rolls his window down to order.
-
The boys were filming the rest of their vlog while they ate, but I decided not to. I stayed in my room, scrolling through my Instagram.
There was a soft knock on my door.
After saying come in, I'm met with the eyes of Nate. He tosses a 6 piece chicken nugget box into my lap, then sets a small tea on my night stand.
My favorite.
"I said I wasn't hungry." I lie, turning my nose up at the food. I secretly wanted to crush 10 boxes of them, but he didn't need to know.
"You need to eat." He says walking back towards the door.
He goes to close the door but opens it a crack, saying,
"I better not see any of those in the trash can."
He then walks out leaving me alone with a box of chicken nuggets, a sweet tea, and a blushing face.
Why am I blushing? Why did he care if I ate or not? How did he know my order?
All of these thoughts only make my face redder, causing me to get frustrated.
He doesn't care about you. Not anymore.
I lay back into my pillows, taking a sip of sweet tea, trying not to think about the boy who just walked out of the room.
Guys, it gets juicy I swear! The intro is always the most boring part. But I think y'all r gonna love this one.

phone charger
pairing: christopher sturniolo x reader
summary: going to get your charger from chris's room escalated to a love confession
a/n: not me spending two hours on this
you and the triplets had become friends last year after meeting at a movie premiere. you were sat next to nick, who knew who you were, and immediately became best friend with him and madi, who was sitting next to him. the movie had taken a long time to start, and in that half an hour you got to know nick, madi, and nick's two triplet brothers, matt and chris. you had exchanged numbers at the end of the event and kept in touch, which eventually led to you five become extremely close friends. you weren't originally from la, but you spent quite some time there, and it quickly become more of a frequent habit to stay longer as you grew closer to your new friends and spent your time in la at their house, instead of staying at an airbnb. the five of you were inseparable, and as much as you loved the first few months of getting to know each other, you enjoyed their company much better now, a year later, that you knew all of them inside out. yet, though you loved all of them equally, there was something which drew you to chris from the very start
you hadn't taken notice of it that first day, but you eyes kept drifting behind nick and madi while you were talking to either of them to catch a quick glance at chris. the way he was so effortlessly angelic to you was baffling, and that feeling of wanting to get to know him never left you, even now that you were close friends. it took you a while to admit to yourself that you were in love with him, but once you did the attraction that drew you to him only became stronger. you couldn't explain it, really. it was just there. your body became dependant on the warm feeling he gave you, but you had no idea how to tell him that without freaking him out
right now, you were sitting on the couch of their living room in their house in LA on your laptop, while the boys were out filming a car video. you checked your phone for the time: it was around two in the morning. you realised your phone was about to die, so you got up to get your charger but you couldn't find it. remembering you had given it to chris earlier that day since he had left his in the car, you went to his room to get it. as soon as you entered his room you got a comforting feeling from the strong scent of his cologne. it was a quest to say the least, to find your charger in the mess of his room. while you were looking for it, you heard a sleepy âheyâ come from behind you. you jumped and turned around:
âshit chris, you scared me!â you said, heart still beating fast from the fright he gave you. he laughed tiredly, and walked to the bed to set his phone down. âcame in here to grab my charger. how was filming?â you asked, noticing his tired demeanor. âgood,â he replied âjust super tired. didn't sleep much last night..â you furrowed your eyebrows, asking him another question, âhow come?â. he sat on the bed and closed his eyes: âi don't know, i couldn't shut my brain offâ you gave him a sad smile, internally wishing you could have been lying next to him to comfort him, little did you know you were the one keeping him up
see the thing was, you had accepted the things you felt for him, he however, did not know what to do with the things he felt for you. he was so down bad in love with you, and neither of you had ever experienced romantic feelings for anyone before, but he didn't know how to handle it. it killed him to think that there was a chance that he could lose you because he felt something he couldn't control. yet, it also killed him to think that if he didn't do anything about the way he felt, he could still lose you to someone else. so he was just left confused, because he was a little slower with realising that what he felt for you was more than just close-platonic-friendship-love
he patted the space next to him on the bed and you obliged, setting the charger you initially went in for down on his desk and crawling next to him on his bed. you wrapped his arms around your torso and rested his head on your stomach. you melted to his touch, but thought nothing of it, since he always got very affectionate at night. your hands found their way to his hair automatically, like they were made with the intention to do so. you lightly scratched his scalp and he let out a content sigh. in that exact moment, you wished you could see the yourself and him from another person's perspective, and paint a picture of the two of you to hand up in the louvre, because to you, this was the most perfect piece of art. and it truly was, unbeknownst to the two of you: just two oblivious lovers molding together by the touch of one another
you were quickly brought out of your train of thought when chris lifted his head to look at you, his pupils so dilated they had almost fully swallowed the blue. he smiled softly and spoke in a fragile voice: âi love youâ he said. his words shocked you to say the least, but you tried to keep calm. âi love you tooâ your voice was shaky, but you hoped he wouldn't notice
âi want to say something but i don't know if i should, don't want you to hate meâ
âi won't can hate you, chrisâ you say, slightly giggling
ânot even if i told you i couldn't sleep last night because of you, like in a good way?â
âwhat do you mean?â your cheeks started to tint pink
âyou know what i mean, goof. don't make me say itâ
âi might, but i'd like to heart you say itâ
âstoppppâ he dragged out, covering his face with one of his hands. the other still resting between his head and you stomach
âno, say itâ you giggled as much as you could, since he was still lying on top of you
âi love you, you goof. i'm really tired right now but i just can't stand not being able to kiss you when i'm tired and sleep in your arms like this...â
âyeah?â you teased him a bit, the way he teases you whenever you're tired
âi want to be your boyfriendddâ he says, his lips melting into a smile
âyou can be my boyfriend,â you said âbut only if i can be your girlfriendâ
âwordâ he said ânow stop talking kid, i'm tiredâ
without a word, you shifted your bodies so you were both under the covers. your heads resting on his pillow, you gave him a small kiss on his lips (which were soft, and perfectly made to fit yours) and you spent the night there, your phone long forgotten to be charged, but you appreciated your phone for having the need to be charged, or else none of this would have happened

For Tonight
Part 2
Warnings: kissing and cussing nothing bigđđž
a/n: finally found inspiration so I could finish writing this
For tonight, I'm yours
So deny the truth
We'll stay behind closed doors
Itâs been 2 months since you and Matt had your biggest argument ever. You were still hurt by the words that slipped out of Mattâs mouth. You wanted a break from him, his voice, his touch, everything that reminded you of him. Every call, text, insta or snap dm. You ignored all of it. You havenât eaten as much or slept as much, even though you didnât want anything to do with him at the moment. You just hoped he was thinking about you. Matt on the other hand was stressing out. You not answering any of his attempts to get you back in is arms gave him panic attacks left and right, in which his brothers tried to help him calm down. He was stumped he didnât know what to do to fix what he fucked up. Nick and Chris still refused to tell him what to do to win you back. Matt blew up your phone every chance he got, and when he was in any videos the triplets had filmed he never spoke as much only thinking about you. At this point you were all he could think about. Your laugh, face, smile, voice, touch. He needed a plan, and a good one at that.
Cause all I wanna do is lie with you
Even though it's wrong to lie with you
We've become numb to what we know is wrong
Matt decided if he was gonna get your attention he needed to see you. He drove to your place and knocked on your door waiting for you to answer it. You walked to your front door looking through the peephole to see, Matt with a little smile hoping youâd answer the door. You opened your door slightly just enough for him to see your face. âWhat do you wantâ. You say annoyed. âY/n Iâm so sorry for what I said to you, I didnât mean it I was just so upsetâ Matt said apologetically. âFirst you couldâve told me this over text, and itâs not only what you said itâs just the way you have been acting lately, and those had to be your true words that came out from all your angerâ You said sternly. âI tried calling and texting you but you never answer me-â Matt was cut off by you. âWhy are you here Matthewâ You ask annoyed. âI was here because I wanted to see your face, I miss you so much Y/n I canât live without you and I canât sleep without knowing how hurt I made you feelâ Matt said trying to grab your hand that was on the door, in which you took your hand back. âPlease Y/n forgive me for what I have done to us, you and this relationshipâMatt said tears rolling down his face. âMatt I canât fully forgive you knowing, that we would end up back in the same situation once again and it leads to a full on fucked up break upâ You say with watery eyes. âLetâs just take it slow then Y/n, just like when we first metâ Matt says wiping the tears that feel down your face. âOk, ok what do you have in mindâ You ask looking at the blue eyed boy. âMeet me at the dance studio, and wear something niceâ Matt said excitedly. âUmm ok what timeâ You asked him confused. âNine on the dotâ Matt says messing with his silver ring that was on his ring finger. âOk see you thenâ you say softly closing the door.
But no one knows but us
The feelings rush every single time we touch
Even though it's what we want
Nine oâclock couldnât come sooner for Matt. He had a everything set up, all he had to do was get dressed and not fuck his only chance to get you back. You were currently getting ready for what Matt had planned out for you. You had a nice dress on that hugged you perfectly, gold accessories bringing out your complexion. Your face was beat. You had did a nice style with your hair that framed your perfectly. You put on some perfume and started heading out. The studio was a good 10 minutes from your place and it was already 8:30. Matt was in the studio setting up the music and fixing the lighting in the room. He had bout your favorite flowers and wore the cologne that you loved on him.
Can't keep this up for long
But I just, I just don't wanna leave you
Might just, might just throw away the reasons why
It was finally nine oâclock. You walked into the dimly lit studio, seeing Matt in his best outfit, holding your favorite Flowers, and rose petals on the floor. He had on the biggest smile from seeing you. Every time Matt saw you his heart would beat out of his chest, palms would start getting a little sweaty, heâd practically lose his voice, and stop breathing. Itâs like heâs seeing you for the first time. Matt was always a nervous wreck for you. âYou did all this for meâ you asked him with watery eyes, you tried not to cry after seeing what he did. âI know it isnât much, but I just wanted you to know how much you mean to me dispite the shit we go through I love you so much I donât see myself with anybody else but youâ Matt says with tears rolling down his face. You start walking towards him tears on your face. âMatt I love you so much, I miss you everyday I wake up to my empty bed it hurts me so badâ You say wiping Mattâs tears. âI just miss you, all of you Y/nâ Matt says putting the flowers down, grabbing you hand placing them on his shoulder. Matt places his hands on your waist not before taking his phone and playing the music.
We both can't lay here
And secret, secret, both gotta keep it
Honest, honest, that's just a game we know (know)
We both can't play
The song that was playing was the same song that was playing when you and Matt first said âI love youâ. This song meant a lot to the both of you. You and Matt were dancing together just a simple two step, looking into each otherâs eyes. Admiring the person in front of them and how crazy they are over each other. âYou look beautiful Loveâ Matt says taking your hand spinning you around. âThank you, you look handsome Mattâ You say putting you arms back in itâs position around Mattâs neck. You both couldnât take the tension anymore. Matt pulled you into a passionate kiss. All your feelings was sealed in that kiss. You and Matt will never fade apart, you guys will forever be together forever. Too obsessed with each other to let each other go and risk them finding someone who could never love them like the other did. For tonight and always you guys were each otherâs.
For tonight, I'm yours
So deny the truth
We'll stay behind closed doors
'Cause all I wanna do is lie with you
Even though it's wrong, I'll lie with you
This took a little minute(a while) but I finally finished this little series đđžđđžđ¤đž

Part 2 !
______
Pov y/n third person
Y/n was sitting, arms crossed and cross-legged on the edge of the stage where he was going to perform in less than three hours.
His fingers rapidly tapping on his phone and his furrowed brow showed his anxiety and inability to stay calm.
Sebastian, who had promised to be present and who was sitting in the same place as his brother, noticed that he was not well and came to hug him.
"Shuuuu it will be fine y/n, I'm sure he's mad at himself as we speak, he's just an idiot but an idiot madly in love with you."
Y/n was crying in his big brother's arms, his emotions having taken over everything else.
He had been in a relationship with the one and only Chris Evans who happened to be one of his brother's best friends.
They had met during the filming of the first Captain America in June 2010 and the two men had quickly created a strong bond despite their age differences.
It wasn't until 2014 that their relationship became official worldwide, making Chris the happiest man in the world by his side.
"You guys are meant to be together, this breakup is only a painful passage. I'm sure of it! You're like mussels and fries, one will be never be without the other!"
Y/n chuckled lightly, amused by the sort of joke his brother had tried to pull off to cheer him up. But the breakup with Chris came back to him just as quickly and he started crying again but this time he got up and stood in front of Sebastian who was looking at him with a sad smile.
" Seb Chris has been ignoring my messages for more than 5 months, my calls yet he sees them but he doesn't do anything about it! He acts as if he and I never existed when we've been together for more than 8 years! 8 fucking years!"
He stopped to catch his breath and immediately continued
"We had plans! We wanted to build a family, get married too! But damn it I can't take it anymore, I'm tired! We left each other for bullshit , just because of a fucking misunderstanding seb, a misunderstanding...."
He finished his sentence while trying himself on the ground and folding his knees on his chest.
"I love him so much if you knew, I could die for this man and he doesn't give a damn about it"
" what are you saying y/n, he's also at his worst, he loves you mad too, you are everything to him!"
Y/n took his phone and put it in brother's face before returning to his initial position.
It was Chris' Instagram where you could see that he was in a nightclub surrounded by several girls and guys who danced with him and some who touched him.
" It doesn't look like he's at his lowest, he seems to have endless fun, it's like he was just waiting for this..."
There was jealousy in his voice as well as sadness, a lot of sadness. How could Chris forget 8 years of a relationship in just 5 months?
" I'm going to go talk to him, okay?! I'm gonna ring him and bring him back to you, I'm gonna go now and wave to me when the show starts, I don't want to miss your entrance!"
Sebastian walked towards the exit of the performance hall leaving a tired, sad and angry y/n.
POV Chris third person
Chris was currently sitting on the edge of the sidewalk which was loosening on an establishment in which music could be heard at miles, cigarette in hand, heavy heart and breathless.
He only smoked on rare occasions, breaking up with the person he considered and considers the love of his life, being an excellent one according to Chris.
He had no idea how he ended up there, unhappy and alone when he could have been in the arms of his lover. His own brain refused to function properly, only remnants of their argument came back to him.
"Are you kidding me or what?"
"You're so naive y/n"
"Chris stop it, I fucking love you! You have nothing to fear!"
"Liar! Don't pretend you didn't notice!"
"Chris I don't know in what language I have to tell you again but NOTHING HAPPENED BETWEEN HIM AND ME! He's just a friend!!"
While Y/n was climbing the stairs to take refuge in their shared room, Chris spoke again and it is exactly THESE words that he will regret for the rest of his life.
"That's it ! Run away! That's all you know how to do anyway! And while you're at it, WHY NOT GO AND MASTURBATE EACH OTHER THROUGH YOUR PHONES AND SPREAD YOUR LEGS LIKE THE WHORE YOU ARE !"
Y/n had turned around, his face filled with tears, deeply shocked by what his boyfriend had just thrown in his own face.
"GO FUCK YOURSELF CHRISTOPHER AND I SINCERELY MEAN IT !"
His brain not allowing him to hear the other words spoken by him as they were so violent Chris then remembers leaving their house, for a walk refresh one's mind.
He ended up heading to Scott's house, his brother, without telling him about their big fight. He first didn't want to blame himself but Scott's accusing face and Sebastian's threats (being his best friend and his ex-almost-brother-in-law) had made him realize that it was entirely his fault.
But being stubborn and proud as he was, it was impossible for him to return home. Chris stayed for more than 4 months with his brother, not finding the strength to return home, being alone, knowing Y/n on world tour, he didn't know exactly what city he was in, but he knew he was still in the US.
Chris didn't have time to think more that his phone rang, displaying the name of his best friend: Sebastian.
But Sebastian was above all his lover's big brother and he knew that this one was the reason why Seb was calling. He hesitated all the same, not wanting to be scolded even if he thought he deserved it.
"Ha-hallo?"
"Chris, damn finally I've been trying to reach you for days ! You better explain to me what went through your head to do such a crap"
Chris knew that Sebastian was referring to his argument with Y/n but he didn't have the courage to express himself.
"I-I"
Before he could formulate an apologetic sentence, sebastian cut him off.
"You know what? I don't even want to know, get your ass back here and quickly. According to your geo-location you're only 1 hour away so be quick!"
"But I don't know where you are..."
"You'll find out by yourself like a big boy, and by the way, sober up before you come, you smell alcohol even through the phone...bye!"
Chris sighed and got up trying not to stumble, he had only assimilated half of his best friend's words but he was sure of one thing: he wanted to fix things with Y/n and returned to the course of their peaceful life, loving each other madly.
He walked to his car which was parked not far from the club where he had spent the night drinking and smoking endlessly.
Taking the road drunk was certainly a bad idea, that's why before taking the road he asked a barman for $100 to pass him some ice cubes, the barman complied without asking him for anything. It wasn't every day that a celebrity gave him big a tip!
Chris left with his huge bag of ice cubes and headed back to his car. He looked at the bag while sighing.
"That'll teach me to get drunk, come on Chris, you can do it! For your man!"
And he poured the contents of the bag over his head while letting out one more shrill cry which made turn the few passers-by who were present.
Among them, certainly paparazzi being informed of the presence of Chris Evans in a Bostonian club. Chris could not give a damn about them, all he wanted was to find y/n the love of his life! settled in his car being still wet and retrieved his phone then went to the geo-location app and looked for Y/n's
"They can't be far if it's only an hour's drive"
Chris thought while looking for y/n's geo-location.
Turns out Y/n and and Sebastian were in Boston as well but across town.
"Well, looks like they're really close..."
He trailed off and sighed. He hoped despite Sebastian's words that he would have a little more than an hour to think about his apologies. How he was going to do to be forgiven by Y/n, knowing that he had hurt him deeply.
He threw the address on the GPS and started the engine, he was definitely not ready but one thing was sure, he wanted to be by his boyfriend's side in any way possible.

Five Nights at Freddy's Movie Review
Background:
In 2014, Scott Braden Cawthon, a video game developer had created a point-and-click survival game called Five Nights at Freddyâs. The game was made after Scott had gone through depression back in 2013 after his family-friendly game Chipper & Sons had gotten hit with negativity, while also dealing with financial troubles. It got so bad that he even had suicidal ideation. Thankfully he not only managed to recover, but had his faith restored.
Scott took inspiration from Chipper & Sons and used it to help him create Five Nights at Freddyâs. The game was submitted to Steam in the summer of 2014, which ended up becoming a big success. The game grew in popularity online by YouTubers who did Letâs Play videos. This had YouTubers like Markiplier, Jacksepticeye, and PewDiePie play the game, while making reactions to their gameplay.
This caused the game to gain such popularity from fans, which led to sequels being made and led to the story expanding as the years progressed. While I only tried out the first game, I can see why so many people loved it and how popular it got. Even nearly ten years later, the film has gained such a following. One that I knew eventually would lead to a film being made.
A film that would of course, like all other movies, hit a few problems along the way to being made. Because when it comes to making a movie based off something popular, you can bet there will be a lot of issue that will rear its ugly head. Â
Film Development:
Making a movie is not exactly easy and it is expected to run into trouble. This is not surprising since when it comes to trying to make a movie, especially one based on comics, anime, or video games there will always be trouble. Mostly because the studios didnât want to follow through the source material, or wanted to do their own thing, or studio interference. In this case, the film was originally announced in April 2015 that it would be done under Warner Bros. Pictures.
Before it was announced in March 2017 Blumhouse Productions, under Universal Pictures. With the aim to have the film released in November 2020, before it was announced the script was scrapped. While the film also had to deal with losing Gil Kenan, who was set to be the original director of the film, before he pulled out, and replaced with Chris Columbus. However, he later backed out and was replaced with Emma Tammi, who remained as the director for the film.
The film was finally filmed February 1, 2023, under a working title called âBad Cupcakeâ and finished filming on April 3. The film had a budget of between $20-25 million dollars, while making back in its opening weekend at $130 million dollars. And despite receiving multiple negative reviews from critics, most of the audience who went to see it praised the film. A sequel being announced after the film was released for the future.
Despite its success in the box office and how itâs likely itâll make more money as each weeks passes, are the critics right? Is this film flawed? Are the audience right that this film isnât so bad? What are the positives and negatives of the film?
           And whoâs in the right?
Plot:
The filmâs plot follows a bit of gameâs plot where we have Josh Hutcherson playing as Mike Schmidt, a down on his luck guy trying to support his younger sister after the death of their parents. Mike unfortunately is dealing with the guilt of losing his younger brother to a kidnapper, who was never found, and the brother assumed to be dead. Despite this, Mike ends up taking sleeping pills at night to try remembering any details about the kidnapping. Hoping itâll help him find who took his brother and get some peace.
Mike ends up losing his job after assaulting a man who he assumed was kidnapping a kid. Heâs also dealing with his aunt, who is trying to do everything she can to take custody of Mikeâs little sister. Not because she cares for her safety, but more to get money from the state. This causes Mike to accept a night job as a security guard at a former popular restaurant, Freddyâs Fazbearâs Pizza.
The restaurant was shut down due to five missing children disappearing in the place and rumored to have been killed, but the bodies were never found.
After Mike takes the job, strange activities begin to occur. He ends up getting visions of the missing children and seems to know who took Mikeâs little brother. He eventually finds out the animatronics at the restaurant are not only alive, but the souls of the children are trapped within the suits. And its later discovered that the man who kidnapped his brother, was involved in the murder of the children then stuffing their bodies into the mechanical suits.
Trapping their spirits within the suits, which come to life at night, and end up killing anyone who they come across.
What I love about this plot is that its kept simple. Much like what they did with the Super Mario, Detective Pikachu, and Sonic films, they made the plots fun. They didnât try doing anything too crazy and kept it simple while also fun for those who are fans of the series. It doesnât rely heavily on easter eggs or is filled with jump scares.
The film does get a little slow during the middle part of the film, while also being predictable when its plot twist is revealed. Despite this though, the plot doesnât seem to lose its audience as time passes. While also avoiding straying from the lore of the game, which a lot of people end up recognizing when they watch it.
Actors/Characters:
As for the actors, Josh Hutcherson plays Mike Schmidt, the security guard from the game, but with his own background since in the original, there really isnât an actual background for the game version.  I really liked Joshâs performance. You feel for him as someone who tries to do their best to raise his sister and deal with his own troubled past. Although, I donât really see much chemistry between him and Piper Rubio, who plays the little sister, Abhy.
However, I did enjoy the chemistry between Josh and Elizabeth Lail who played Vanessa. Another character from the game, but different than the game version as well. She does a good job playing someone who knows more than sheâs letting on, while doing her best to help Mike. Even be understanding and forming a bond with him.
Matthew Lillard does a good job with his role too, but you honestly know who he plays the moment he appears and the way heâs acting. So, when he appears later, you already saw it coming. Despite this though, he still did an amazing job with his role. And people seem happy with what he did.
The only flaws with the actors I can think of is you donât get invested with everyone else who are just there to be killed and be forgetful. So, we donât get much character development with them. While not getting much development with Abby either or how sheâs connected with the missing kids too. And some of the characters being a bit clichĂŠ.
Although, I did like the actor Michael P. Sullivan who plays the lawyer. When you see the film, youâll know why. Â Still, it didnât feel like the actors were all half-assing with their performances. They did put as much work into this film as the people behind the scenes did in making it possible, we got the actual suits in the movie. Instead of it being all CGI like many feared the studio would go for.
tumblr
 Special effects/Practical effects:
The film doesnât rely on CGI or a lot of special effects, except for a few scenes. As for the animatronics, which were there thanks to Jim Hensonâs Creature Shop. They werenât CGI, they were there for the actors to properly react to, and even touch. Something that I felt was a smart decision, especially how many people were happy to see them there.
I love how they even give actual expressions and appear to give better character development than a CGI character we get in other movies.
The way the film was shot and the references they threw in from the games. The film didnât need to be shot in multiple locations. They simply had to have the film be shot in at least three to four locations, with the focus in the pizza restaurant. And I love the way they set the final act, which was a lot of fun.
The only flaw I did find was the tone of the film. There are times theyâre trying to go with it feeling like a horror movie, to trying to make it comedic, to then trying to be serious. It felt odd they did this, but it didnât hurt the film too much. Although, I did wish it was a scary horror movie, but it doesnât mean I hate what they went with.
It does have some blood, but never went with gore, which honestly? I think they should have tried making this film Rated-R. I think it would have worked better if they did that. However, I can understand why the film kept it at PG-13. They knew kids love the games, its popular with them, and because of that they got to have the kids go out to see the film.
Final Thoughts: Â
The film has its flaws, thereâs no question about it and can understand why critics didnât like it, but it doesnât mean theyâre right. The film to me is kept simple and was made to be a fun film for people to watch. Itâs the same decision that was made for the Super Mario Bros. Movie. The film doesnât rely on easter eggs though, while also avoiding straying from the lore.
They made sure it was a film that the audience will love and it pays off. Its flaws, but itâs not bad. I would put this with the Detective Pikachu movie. It wasnât perfect, but I still found some entertaining moments. With this movie, I felt the same thing.
Itâs a good fun movie that I recommend checking out with friends or your teenage kids who have played the game. Itâs the kind of film you can sit down and have a good time watching. Iâm looking forward to the sequel and hopefully itâll stick to the formula with the first movie. While curious to see if weâll even see more familiar Freddy characters appear in the next film, even have Markiplier make an actual cameo.

I loved your OUAT meta and was curious your thoughts on a different couple. One of my favorite books and movies is Fried Green Tomatoes. Just finished a rewatch actually. It always slaps me so hard that to me Idgy, Ruth and Buddy are Buck, Eddie and Christopher. Was curious if you have read and watched it and your thoughts on the parallels.
Awww, Nonnie! Iâm so happy to hear that you enjoyed my Buddie vs Captain Swan meta! :D
But what are you doing to me, asking me to compare Idgie, Ruth and Buddy Jr. to Buddifer? I love it! I even had to make a whole gifset for it, in addition to a couple of gifs for this post. Okay, fair warning to everyone, there be spoilers under the cut... Thereâs also a gifset to go with the meta!
I have to admit, while I think the performances in the film are great, I prefer the novel. For one thing, when I first watched the film, I wasn't crazy about adult Idgie falling for her deceased older brother's girlfriend. It just opens up a few uncomfortable questions that the movie never addresses, such as is Idgie just a replacement love for Ruth since the guy she actually wanted died? Itâs at least a real possibility due to other changes as well, like how the story about the ducks flying away with the frozen lake is Idgieâs in the novel, but the movie turns it into a story invented by Buddy, so all she ever does is just repeat it, just be a reflection of him. I have to say, the idea of two grieving people comforting each other and falling in love in the process is not awful, depending on how itâs handled it can actually be uplifting, but for that to be the case, this aspect has to be tackled so that we'd know that eventually, Ruth and Idgie's love story will be their own and not just a substitute. But the movie never does broaches this subject. That kinda bugged me the first time I watched it, and still, seeing Idgie and Ruth together is so heartwarming, I ended up embracing them despite having that initial issue.
But imagine my joy when I finally got to read the novel and discovered that Ruth never even met Buddy. When she spends time with Idgie? It's because she chooses to. Itâs not some act of charity to help the troubled little sister of a dead boyfriend! In the novel, Ruth realizes that there's no one she wants to be with more than Idgie. And I love that! I think they both deserve that. It also means that when Ruth's son is named Buddy Jr., that can't be interpreted as her never fully moving on from Buddy, she didnât know him! Instead, itâs a clear reflection of her love for Idgie and the baby being their son. Which to me is really similar to Buck, Eddie and Christopher, who also choose each other and to be a family, again and again.
And in fact, he is recognized as such! Unlike in the movie, where itâs just implied, in the book we have people like Dot Weems who publishes her weekly newsletter and explicitly refers to Buddy Jr. as Ruth and Idgieâs son. Given the very public nature of this, it implies not just her personal acceptance of the three of them as a family unit. It shows the town of Whistle Stop overall must have accepted them. And yes, this is absolutely so much like Buck, Eddie and Chris, who arenât only a family unit, theyâre also pretty much recognized as such. Itâs in things like Hen in 317 talking about everyone including their spouse and her including in that Buck inviting Eddie, or the way Chim in 414 talks about Buck being there with Chris when Eddie was shot like itâs a given.
That brings me to another point. The book is much more explicit about Ruth and Idgie falling in love, which is a blessing in itself. Itâs also far more mutual. The movie gives us a very clear âohâ moment for Idgie when sheâs obviously struck by the knowledge that Ruth is about to get married. Their time together is about to come to an end and realizing Idgieâs about to lose Ruth, something obviously clicks. Itâs arguable whether we get one for Ruth. When she says maybe she should move out, the conversation (despite no one else being there) is not in romantic terms, and in fact Ruth suggest that maybe if she leaves, Idgie would settle down (implied to mean sheâd marry a man and have kids). Which at least suggests that even within a queer reading, maybe theyâre living their lives together simply settling for being life partners, without ever crossing the line into romance, despite being in love. IF we do have an âohâ moment for Ruth in the movie, itâs during the trial, when she seems to maybe reach an insight on the stand and states in front of everyone that she loves Idgie (prefaced by calling her âbest friendâ). This reading can be seen as supported by Idgieâs own shocked expression at Ruthâs words, as if this is something sheâs not used to hearing. Since Ruth dies of cancer a short while later, if that was indeed her moment of recognizing her own feelings, it would mean their relationship was only consummated for a very short while, if ever. The novel, however, makes it more evident that they were fully aware from pretty much the start of how they felt, were totally committed to each other from the second Ruth left Frank, and it never gives us any reason to think they didnât fully realize their relationship. That gives them about 22 years of knowing they were in love with each other, and 18 years to live that love together.
Iâm not sure if Buck and Eddie have had their âohâ moment yet, but... If Idgieâs in the film is that panicked realization of possibly losing her other half forever, and Ruthâs in the book stems from the same understanding, I think we see something very similar in the expression on Buckâs face when he is forced to watch Eddie collapsing before him.
On top of that, in the book Idgie's mom not only makes it clear to her kids that Idgie is in love with Ruth, she also says in no uncertain terms that she expects them to treat their sister kindly, basically showing incredible levels of acceptance. I think that's just so freaking marvelous and not at all what I expected for a character realizing that she's raising a gay daughter in the 1930's. Of course, the novel itself was published in 1987, but it also has a contemporary character, Evelyn (whose story begins in 1985) allowing herself to be emotionally detached from her son when it's suggested to her that otherwise, he might grow up to be gay. So that highlights just what an exception Mama Threadgoode was in general, and especially given her time. This very much reminded me of Bobby, and how many of us read him as knowing and approving of Buddie since as early as 201.
In the book, on the day Ruth realizes she's in love with Idgie, there are two things I wish they had kept in. The famous scene with Idgie getting Ruth honey, going untouched by the bees, takes place. First, I wish they had kept Ruth admitting she doesn't know what she would do without Idgie. It gives the whole scene a different, more profound tone IMO. We have Ruth both amazed at what Idgie can do (nicknaming her âthe bee charmerâ) and terrified over realizing she could have gotten herself killed. This is Ruthâs âohâ moment in the novel, explicitly so. The second thing I wish they hadnât cut out is the tail of their conversation, when Idgie states that she would kill anyone who might ever hurt Ruth. True to her Christian (and âgood girlâ) values, Ruth doesnât like that idea. So Idgie relents and says that instead, she's willing to die for her. But Ruth doesn't believe anyone would ever really put their lives on the line for anyone else. Yet, by the end of the story, we know that Idgie was willing to do just that. Someone else killed Ruth's abusive husband, but Idgie was willing to take the fall for it, quite possibly be sentenced to death for this crime. It's her contribution to what someone else had done to keep Ruth and Buddy Jr. safe from Frank. Itâs Idgie fighting for her family and her loved ones, but also proving that she does exactly what she promised Ruth she would. Andit shows that, in spite of Idgieâs wild ways and anti-church stance, sheâs that person who actually embodies Ruthâs values.
And I think this absolutely is so very much like Buddie, where we know that they would die for each other. With Buck, itâs been explicitly stated and shown. With Eddie, he knows exactly how reckless and self-endangering his husband can be, and he still goes wherever Buck does. In other words, that daredevil, reckless nature is something Idgie and Buck share, as well as that deep devotion and willingness to fight and to sacrifice for their family. Ruth and Eddie, as their counterparts? Roll their eyes, but clearly also adore and appreciate them, understanding that this stubbornness and recklessness comes from a place of deep caring. Eddie basically says as much in 414, when he tells Buck that he knows no one would ever fight as hard for Chris and that this is exactly what he wants for his (their) son.
Another commonality is that not only do we have two same sex couples raising together the child that one partner had biologically with a former spouse, the kid in both cases has a significant physical limitation (Chris has CP while Buddy Jr. has lost an arm), yet both are explicitly said to never complain, and both sets of parents are very encouraging of their child to live their lives to the fullest in spite of their disability. Fried Green Tomatoes even implies that Idgie is able to be a better parent to Buddy Jr. thanks to being queer, because she too knows what itâs like to be different than everyone else. So we have her, the non-biological parent, fighting for Buddy Jr. to be able to fulfill himself just like all the other kids. Thatâs exactly like Buck in 312, in direct opposition of Anaâs advice, encouraging Eddie and helping him find a way for Chris to be able to live his dreams despite his disability.
The novel makes it clear just how much Idgie and Ruth loved and missed each other while they were separated. Idgie would drive at least once a month (later once a week) all the way from Alabama to Georgia in order to see Ruth from afar, or even just to see Frank since he was a link to his wife, solid proof of her presence. Meanwhile, the book tells us that Ruth thought of Idgie every single day and missed her to the point of pain. She stayed with Frank even as he turned out to be a violent and abusive husband (to say the least) because she believed he could somehow sense her love for Idgie. Ruth felt guilt over it, and accepted Frankâs abuse as if it were justified by her emotional infidelity. I felt that was very poignant, showing us just how destructive the results of homophobia, including of the internalized kind, can be. And while Eddie staying with Ana is not quite as extreme, there is something about the sense of duty and guilt, the need to do the ârightâ (i.e socially expected) thing, that kept him there which I think is very reminiscent of Ruth. And itâs also very much like Buck who feels he should be with Taylor given sheâs the first girlfriend who hasnât left him, as if he has also bought into the idea that this is what heâs meant to do in life, find a gf and settle with her even if heâs miserable.
Now, you might notice that for the most part, Iâm trying to stick to what is canon in the book, but clearly when adapting it to the screen, they realized they needed to show us a bit more of Ruth and Idgieâs married life ('coz yeah, that is exactly what they were, even if they never got to have a wedding). Theyâre partners in life and at work. And then we get that scene where they get to be playful with each other as well in the kitchen. Jon Avnet, the director, explicitly said that this scene was meant to be a metaphor for sex. So they take in what that means for Buddieâs own playful scene that starts in the kitchen in 309... we keep saying there is no straight explanation for it, because there literally isnât!
One last connection, because a geekâs gotta geek. Ruthâs character is obviously named after the biblical one. In the Bible, after Ruth loses her husband, she vows to stay by his motherâs side instead of going back to her own country. She promises Naomi, âWhere you will go, I will go and where you will dwell, I will dwell. Your people will be my people and your God will be my God. Where you will die, I will die and there I shall be buried. So will Go do to me and so he will add for [only] death will separate between you and me.â (Ruth 1:16-17). In case you think that sheâs just being a good (ex) daughter in law, Orpa is also shown to be a good, caring ex daughter in law to Naomi, she cares, she cries when she has to leave. In fact, Naomi states that they were both good daughters in law. But at the end, Orpa does go back home. Not Ruth though, who in verse 1:14 insists on staying with Naomi. Thatâs where weâre also told that Ruth clung (××ק×) to Naomi. Now whatâs interesting about this specific verb in Hebrew is that it only appears in one other place in the Bible: âTherefore a man shall leave his father and mother and he will cling (××ק) to his wife and they will become one flesh.â Yep, the only biblical connotation we have for this verb is one that is explicitly related to a romantic relationship. Thatâs why there are many queer readings of Ruth and Naomi, who have been adopted by some queer women as biblical counterparts.
Meanwhile, Buckâs birth name is Evan, which is a variation of John. In the New Testament, Jesus has a Beloved Disciple and the most likely identification of that person is John the Apostle (the disciple whom Jesus loved is only ever mentioned in the Gospel of John, and while this person isnât named, the text states that this disciple is the author of that very gospel). Jesus, knowing he must leave, instructs his mom and the disciple he loves to become each otherâs mother and son, effectively turning John into kind of an adopted brother. In the Song of Songs, when the narrating woman canât openly be with the man she loves, she yearns for him to be like her brother, so she could walk down the street and kiss him without being socially scorned (Song of Songs 8:1). We know John is someone who was asked by Jesus to abandon his bride in order to follow him. Thereâs a verse (John 13:23) that, if translated literally, states that during the last supper, the beloved disciple was reclining in Jesusâ bosom. On top of all that, the apostles were all prophesied an awful doom. Peter, about learning of his own demise, demands to know what would be the fate of the beloved disciple. Jesus replies, âIf I want him to remain until I come, what is that to you?â (John 21:22). Did the 911 pilot writers (who are the show creators) intend for this when they chose Buckâs name? IDK, but the queer vibes from Buck go back to 107 at the latest, so maybe it was something that was playing somewhere in the back of their minds. 602 def tells me the 911 writers think long and hard about the names they choose for their characters, even minor ones, and at the very least one of the show creators is Ryan Murphy, an openly gay man, whoâs probably been around long enough to be aware of the well known queer reading of Jesus and John.
OK, as a bonus, some tidbits you might not have known! Fannie Flagg, the author, has had long term relationships with women. In writing this book, she was partly inspired by her own great aunt running a cafe with a couple of her friends (itâs still active to this day and you can find it where Flagg grew up, the town of Irondale, Alabama). Fannie was born Patricia Neal. At the end of the novel, a Neal family with their little girl Patsy runs into a character who isnât named, but is clearly an elderly Idgie (who we know left honey and that loving note at Ruthâs grave in Whistle Stop that Evelyn finds), living with her brother Julianâs family in Florida.
In conclusion, I actually find it fascinating that the movie, which was released four years after the book was published, is a lot more ambiguous. Because at the end of the day, it does expect many, if not most, of its viewers (even back in 1991) to understand the nature of Idgie and Ruthâs relationship, even though itâs not explicitly stated. And to realize just how many of the things we see between these two women in the film apply to Buddie as well, then no wonder that in 2022, weâve reached a similar conclusion about these two men. Itâs absolutely to be expected based on the story 911 has been telling!
Thank you so much for the request, Nonnie. I hope you enjoyed this! If youâre interested, you can find more of my content on my blog. Thank you in advance for any kindness and support! xoxox

I have discovered another⌠well not necessarily problem but misunderstanding. Or lack of understanding. Had a conversation with a coworker today about Death Island and I mentioned that I didnât really understand why Claire was there because civilian and she and Leon donât get along. Itâs probably something like Chris dragged her out or she had to go with Chris cause siblings stick together or whatnot and this guy cut me off like âwhat are you talking about? They walked off into the sunsetâ (RE2R ending but misremembered sunset instead of sunrise). This dude didnât know about the other films or anything that happened after RE2R and RE4R. We got new fans who are going into this movie without the knowledge of the previous films. Not that this is anyoneâs fault but theirs (and not even that really cause sometimes they just donât know) but man are peopleâs expectations going to be ruined if they think this is a sequel to RE2R.
i think maybe they'll have it so that they can at least be civil with each other. claire seemed pretty disappointed at leon at the end of infinite darkness, and all of the animated films/shows are considered canon to the timeline.
i actually do not know why claire is there either.
i also find the ending of re2r really disingenuous since the ending of re2 (what's implied anyways) is still canon, which is after Leon, Sherry and Claire left Racoon, they (Leon and Sherry) were taken into the government.
Claire IMMEDIATELY left Leon and Sherry ALONE.
let me repeat that.
Claire ABANDONED LEON AND SHERRY THE SECOND SHE COULD.
like YES we understand her entire purpose in re2r was to find chris. Which is understandable, he is always going to be her brother. But i find it funny that this moment is always skimmed over. that Leon was forced into working for the government because he had to protect Sherry, but also because Claire left them. But not only that, that Leon refused to out Ada or Claire. (Ada which makes sense, since he thought she was still dead. But he refused to out Claire because he's just a decent person.) I don't know why this plot point is just never talked about again. How Leon could possibly be resentful that Claire got out and he was forced into becoming an agent because he had to keep Sherry safe since Claire left her.
He had to work for the government as well to keep Sherry as safe as he could. And he couldn't even do that. (Spoilers for re6, but the government spent months/years testing on her because of her infection with the virus.)
The biggest problem I have with new re fandom is that there are like +20 years of canon resident evil lore, and A LOOOOT OF PEOPLE use ONE GAME to form an opinion. Which is FINE. there's nothing inherently wrong with that, but you NEED to know that your opinion is misinformed most of the time.
even long term re fans STILL HADN'T PLAYED ADA'S RE6 campaign so they DO NOT KNOW THE ENTIRE STORY OF RE6. A LOT OF PEOPLE STILL BLAME ADA FOR WHAT CARLA DID.
ANYWAYS yeah.
to be clear, death island is set AFTER VENDETTA. Which in between re6 and re7 in the timeline. BUT all of the films, including infinite darkness had already happened. so i don't know
hope your friend can watch all of those before seeing the movie lol

James Donaldson on Mental Health - Conversations are opening up, but we still need to shed the taboo of discussing suicideâ
Attitudes have changed in the decade since Jessica Davis' father died, she says. Still, it's vital to keep challenging the stigma BY JESSICA DAVIS It's a sticky July afternoon and I'm stuck between lilies or tulips. Normally, I only buy my mum a bouquet for her birthday or Mother's Day, but today â a random summer Wednesday â I feel an instinct to pick some up. I'd later find out that this exact pocket of time, as I stood glancing from flower to flower, was the point at which our family's life would change forever. Those minutes in 2014 drew a line under our past, plunging us into a future of grief, missed milestones and unanswered questions. It was the time in which we lost dad to suicide. I recall what happened next as a whirlwind, yet I remember it with such clarity. I arrived home, stems in hand, to see a police car parked outside. Upon entering the house, the news was broken, by my mum, to my younger brother and I. It felt like I was living someone elseâs truth, playing a character in a film. After, days and weeks blurred into months. It all seemed like a cruel joke; part of a game show. I remember saying out loud âyou can stop nowâ, imagining him bursting in with a camera crew in tow, revealing a twisted prank. They never came, though. Over ten years later, Iâm still waiting. âIt all seemed like one big cruel joke; part of a game showâ In the wake of his death, a huge weight to bear was using the word âsuicideâ. âHe killed himself,â Iâd say, numbly updating friends, family or explaining to the landlord of my local pub that I wouldnât be working my shift, as though I was hungover like any other 18-year-old. In truth, I didnât understand it myself. Why would he do this? What about us? Heâd suffered with depression for my whole life, however he came across as one of the happiest people to all that had the pleasure of knowing him. He was infectious; someone who lit up the room, made you laugh uncontrollably and was always the centre of the party. Thatâs the thing about mental ill health, though. While external words and behaviour are visible, none of us truly know the contents of another's mind. When we, his immediate family, told those in our extended circle about dad, we were met with disbelief, puzzled faces and questions we certainly didnât have the answers to. How could such a vital character have secretly battled such sad thoughts? âNone of us truly know the contents of another's mindâ This conversation started to change slightly the next year, when news broke that actor Robin Williams had taken his own life in 2014. Reading about this sad, sad reality, I found myself taking in a narrative that was all too familiar; the big warm joker who loved to make everyone laugh, but sheltered a darker internal life. It helped, I think, cement the general understanding that even the seemingly happiest of people might struggle. The author as a child with her dad Over the decade since dad's death, many high profile names have ended their own lives, from television personality Caroline Flack to musicians Chris Cornell and Avicii. Each is a tragedy; each generates headlines. Even so, suicide remains an intensely difficult thing for many to speak about. âThe way we talk about grief and bereavement is beginning to change as we talk about death more easily,â psychotherapist Juliet Rosenfeld tells me. âThe general conversation around mental health has certainly opened up, but suicide is still a difficult area for people to talk about.â âSuicide itâs a very difficult area for people to talk aboutâ But talk about it we must. The latest stats show that 5,642 deaths happened by suicide in 2022; around three-quarters being male. I often think if there was less stigma against men showing their emotion and feelings (a big middle finger to toxic masculinity) at the time of dadâs death, perhaps he would have felt more comfortable to have broken down, to have received help, rather than pretending everything was fine. A decade on, despite these tragedies filling our newsfeeds and scary statistics, thereâs still so much misunderstanding. âI'm always struck by the language we use when it comes to suicide, as itâs so denigrating,â Rosenfeld says. âTake "committed suicide." The use of âcommittingâ is extraordinary as it implies criminality â the use of âattemptingâ and âsuccessfulâ also does such damage. Suicide sounds like âhomicideâ or âinfanticideâ, so itâs put into that category and makes people deeply uncomfortable. Itâs worrying that given how prevalent it is, we canât talk about it in a way thatâs helpful and preventative.â #James Donaldson notes:Welcome to the ânext chapterâ of my life⌠being a voice and an advocate for #mentalhealthawarenessandsuicideprevention, especially pertaining to our younger generation of students and student-athletes.Getting men to speak up and reach out for help and assistance is one of my passions. Us men need to not suffer in silence or drown our sorrows in alcohol, hang out at bars and strip joints, or get involved with drug use.Having gone through a recent bout of #depression and #suicidalthoughts myself, I realize now, that I can make a huge difference in the lives of so many by sharing my story, and by sharing various resources I come across as I work in this space.  #http://bit.ly/JamesMentalHealthArticleFind out more about the work I do on my 501c3 non-profit foundationwebsite www.yourgiftoflife.org Order your copy of James Donaldson's latest book,#CelebratingYourGiftofLife: From The Verge of Suicide to a Life of Purpose and Joy www.celebratingyourgiftoflife.com Link for 40 Habits Signupbit.ly/40HabitsofMentalHealth If you'd like to follow and receive my daily blog in to your inbox, just click on it with Follow It. Here's the link https://follow.it/james-donaldson-s-standing-above-the-crowd-s-blog-a-view-from-above-on-things-that-make-the-world-go-round?action=followPub âTalking about death or knowing the "right thing" to say to the bereaved brings such dreadâ Generally, talking about death or knowing the âright thingâ to say to the bereaved brings such dread. Understandably so, despite it being the only true certainty for us all, we are all scared of our own death, and that of our loved ones. But when it comes to suicide in particular this squeamishness is amplified. It's hard to comprehend something that goes directly against the human instinct for survival. âFrom birth, we have a drive to survive at all costs,â says Rosenfeld. âPeople cope in horrific danger, suffer accident or disease, they make it through. Thatâs the difficult thing about suicide as it "goes against" this. It means it can be difficult for people to conceptualise.â âAnd, the reality is, we wonât understand it from the outside, because, how can we? We donât know how it feels. This is why itâs so important to change how we talk about it and lose that judgement. We do have the power to change things; to change the narrative and help those who need it most.â Detecting the signs that someone is in crisis early on is paramount. Polly, a 43-year-old Somerset-based volunteer with charity Samaritans, says itâs never a one-size-fits-all approach. âStruggling to cope with everyday life is a common feeling and isnât the same for everyone,â she says. âSome signs include lacking energy, feeling exhausted, finding it hard to think clearly or concentrate, feeling restless and agitated, wanting to cry all the time, not wanting to be with people or do things you would usually enjoy, finding it hard to cope with everyday tasks and experiencing "burn out"â. âItâs important to remember that itâs okay to feel any of these things,â she continues. âYouâre not alone in feeling like this, as many people struggle to cope at one point or another. Talking about how youâre feeling can help put things into perspective and help you to feel more positive about the future.â It's true that society has become more compassionate towards those who die by suicide. Before 1961, it was illegal in the UK, meaning that if someone ended their life, they wouldnât get a funeral or headstone. Weâve definitely moved a long way on from that â but thereâs still such a way to go. Having these honest conversations, better mental health education, sharing stories, squishing the stigma of shame is all part of bringing it forward. I hope with everything I've got that over the next decade, we see those heartbreaking statistics shrink. Two women who contemplated suicide share how having someone to listen saved their lives Bella, 45, from London: In 2019 I was diagnosed with bipolar and struggled badly with depression, which ultimately led to me becoming suicidal that same year. One evening, things got way too much. I felt I'd had enough; I wanted to go â but something in me caused me to phone Samaritans. Being truly listened to and having a space where I could say anything was so helpful. They made me feel like I was somebody. They made me feel I was worth it. Sometimes I think to myself my life was saved by the person who picked up the phone that night. If they werenât there, I may not be here. I share my story as a mental health speaker to show others they arenât alone. At that time for me I felt so overwhelming lonely and had no safe space to share how much I was struggling. It felt like the outside world wouldnât have cared if I went; I didnât think Iâd be missed by anyone. I couldnât remember any achievements or anything I wanted from my future. Of course, I still have very bad days â and thatâs okay and so important to share, too. With social media, it can look like everyone else is living a perfect life, but that's not true. I love sharing with my audience when Iâm feeling low and what Iâm doing to help myself, like getting outside in nature or journalling. Struggle is all part of the journey and nothing to be ashamed about. Emma, 35 from South Yorkshire: I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression in my early twenties. I struggled on and off and was keen to find coping mechanisms outside of medication. Iâve felt quite up and down over the years; the pandemic lockdown was hard. Iâd been plodding on, but my mental health took a dip. I felt stuck, I was in a relationship that wasnât very good for me and I just felt...lost. Working from home made me feel so isolated, things were getting worse and I couldnât see a way out. I felt I had no one to turn to. One night, it was really bad. It was the early hours so I couldnât call anyone, but Iâd seen an advert for Samaritans in the train station early that day. I didnât really know what I wanted to say, I just wanted someone to be there so I didnât feel so alone. I was scared and contemplating ending my life. The volunteer listened, let me cry and asked all the right questions without pushing me. We were on the phone for hours, until I felt truly safe to hang up the phone. She saved my life. I remember thinking that I didn't want my life to end, rather just for that chapter to close. That night I decided I can fight to live. Itâs still so emotional to talk about, but it feels like a distant memory. To look at me today, youâd never know. Iâm so grateful to be here. This was the first night you didnât end up in his bed. You were woken up by Chris and Nick yelling at each other. âYou literally just said-,â you overheard as you walked out of your vacant bedroom. The only thing was your bed and your dresser that had a few clothes in it.
âGuys, why are we fighting?â you spoke up, entering the kitchen with the three of them occupying the space. You moved your hand up to groggily rub your eyes. Chris and Matt were eating breakfast while Nick was standing there on the other side of the table. Matt was idle on his phone, silently listening to the bickering between his brothers.
âNick keeps fucking telling me that Iâm yapping but heâs literally yapping telling me this shit,â Chris responded.
âCause you literally have been yapping all morning,â Nick spoke up, smirking, âdid y/n not sleep with you or something?â
Your head turned quickly towards the two, a slight blush appearing on your cheeks. Nick glances at you, already knowing the answer. Chris had finally slept by himself last night. The only reason being he passed out almost immediately after a long night filming their Friday car video. You decided to take advantage of that fact and slept in your own bedroom. Although, it felt extremely odd not having his warm figure beside you. At first Chris would always sleep with his brothers. But one night you had been in his room, hanging out with him and he asked you to sleep with him since you were already in there. You contemplated for a good minute, finally becoming comfortable in your new bedroom. You ended up saying yes after he gave you his increasingly hard to say no puppy eyes.
âChris went to sleep before me,â you shrugged, grabbing a spoon for your cereal. Chrisâ eyes lit up seeing you about to come sit next to him. Of course the seat you claimed as yours was next to his. You walked over and sat next to him, giving him a slight glance before turning to the oldest in front of you.
âAnyways, today is upload day!â Nick giggled. You grinned, excited to see what they talked about. Even though you already knew because you walked in on Nick editing the video last night. You watched as Nick walked away, you assumed to his bedroom. Matt had also rambled on about needing to get dressed for the day and left to his own room.Â
âHi,â Chris spoke up first. His thoughts still linger on the fact that you didnât sleep with him last night. âWhy didnât you stay with me?â
âI didnât want to disturb you,â you admit. âYou looked peaceful and you finally were the one to sleep before me.â You expected him to just shrug it off but his gaze on you didnât change.
âYou still couldâve joined me,â he frowned.
âIâll sleep with you tonight, okay?â You inquire. He nodded, standing up to go down to his room. You sat there silently, already ready for the day.
The four of you ended up going to the mall to do some shopping, mainly for the three triplets, but you did enjoy yourself while with them. You were back at home, sitting on the couch eating dinner and watching a movie before going to bed for the night. The movie this time was Harry Potter, a suggestion from you. It wasnât a surprise in the middle of the movie Nick and Matt had fallen asleep on the couch, while you and Chris were still up intently watching the movie. âI swear to god if Dobby doesnât shut the fuck up,â Chris spoke up.
You grinned at him, âNo but heâs so cute, I love him so much.â
Chris glanced over at you, immediately noting that your mouth was agape in a yawn. âBaby, wanna go to bed?â he asked. You nodded your head, confused about the nickname, too tired to even react. He walked over to your figure bundled up in one of the blankets and helped you up, grabbing your hand and putting his hand on your waist for a moment before leading you to his bedroom downstairs.
You giggled at the image of an excited boy ready to go to bed with his favorite person. Of course Chris would never tell you that, knowing that his feelings needed to be subsided. But he couldnât help but feel passion for someone like you. You were always there for him when he needed it. His bed is always occupied by the both of you, laughing your asses off from a random tiktok he scrolled on or sleeping peacefully as the moonlight shines on your soft face.
As he opened the door, he told you he needed to âpiss really badly he might piss his pantsâ. Which left you alone in his room, you opened one of his drawers on the bottom and decided to pick out one of his shirts instead of wearing the sleep shirt you were wearing at the moment. Without thinking you took off your shirt the moment the door opened, Chris looking up from his phone and gasping. âShit, y/n, fuck I didnât mean to walk out on you.â
âItâs nothing you havenât seen before,â you stated nonchalantly. His cheeks turned a bright pink briefly before he cleared his throat, his mind roaming to the previous times you two ended up wrapped in each other's arms naked at night. The burning sensation of needing to be even closer to each other was stronger than before. Besides, heâs walked in on you changing âon accidentâ maybe a few too many times before you both first experienced each other in a more intimate way.
You scrambled yourself together and walked over to the bed that Chris had already plopped onto. Like literally plopped, he made a funny noise too. He sighed, waiting for you under his covers. You didnât know what you two were. All you knew was that there was definitely more than just friends. You two donât normally end up wrapped in each other without clothes, it really is just a rare thing you two do.
Chris patted the spot on his bed you always lay on. You said, âI have to brush my teeth first, I canât stand stinky breath.â As you were brushing your teeth, you could hear Chrisâ phone going off with what you assumed to be tiktok. A few chuckles coming out of his lips before setting his phone down.
âY/n, if you donât hurry up and get in here I think I might explode from lack of affection,â he joked, slightly. You huffed, quickly spitting and rinsing before finally leaping on top of him, laying on his whole body. He grunted.
âYou wanted me to lay with you, this is how Iâm going to lay on you, pretty boy,â you stated. His arms wrap around your waist, moving your bodies to be side to side. âYou bitch!â you exclaimed, pouting, âI was comfortable like that.â
His eyes focused on the slight glimpse of light reflected in your eyes. His mind paid no attention to what the source was, only admiring how your eyes squinted creating a small eye smile, as one would put it. He loved how you would smile with your eyes before your lips.
âYou know, I really did think about staying with you last night, I just thought maybe it was better for both of us to sleep separately⌠for one night, baby,â you explained as you watched his lips turn into a frown at your statement. You giggled at the image. His arm was wrapped around your waist, your bodies touching with your head now slightly on his chest. Looking up at him, with your hand combing through his fluffy hair, smiling. âYou know youâre really pretty,â you sleepily commented.
His hands rubbed your back, chuckling, his chest moving up and down making your own body follow his movements. âI really lik-â he started before hearing a loud snore erupt in the relatively quiet room. Your peaceful figure laying there in front of him, he moved his arm on your waist to bring you closer to him. He smiled to himself before closing his eyes to fall asleep too.

Bagels and Bites
Pairing: Sebastian Stan x Reader
Synopsis: Sebastian likes to flirt with you in interviews
Masterlist
It all started when you met him on The Late Late Show.
âHow are you all feeling tonight?â James asked you and Sebastian Stan as you sat on the guest couch.
âIâm excited.â You beamed as Sebastian rested his arm on the couch behind you.
âSo am I. We should probably talk about this later,â Sebastian smiled directly at you, âbut weâve been wanting to meet each other for a long time.â
âHave you?â James chuckled.
âNo.â You laughed and playfully hit Sebastian in the chest. âWe had one interaction on Twitter and he thinks thereâs something between us.â
âIt was a very flirty interaction.â Sebastian clarified. âThere were sparks flying all over those tweets.â
âSo this is your first time actually meeting?â James asked. âEven though youâre in the marvel movies together?â
âItâs weird. I havenât met half the cast.â You shrugged. âIâll meet everyone else once the press tour starts but so far Iâve only met the people Iâve filmed with. Just Chris, and Chris, and um, oh yeah. Chris.â
You looked down and smiled to yourself when you heard Sebastian laughing at your joke. Even though youâd never met him, youâd always liked him. It was a well known secret on the Internet that you were his celebrity crush, since he was so inclined on bringing it up in almost every interview of his. Being face to face for the first time now, you were feeling a little intoxicated from his charm. Well, his charm and the white wine youâd been sipping on.
âI hope they stop putting me with Mackie and start putting me with Y/n once this press tour starts.â Sebastian said after taking a sip of his wine. âI love him but I canât keep babysitting him at 8 in the morning. Iâd like to wake up to someone who looks a little more like this one.â
âI know what you mean.â You agreed. âHe would show up to set every morning all ready to go and Iâm like dude, give me a few hours for my personality to arrive.â
âI was so mad that he got to film with you and I didnât.â Sebastian shook his head. âWe finally get cast in a movie together and weâre never in the same scene.â
âWell,â you put your hand on his knee and patted it, âweâre meeting now. Lucky you.â
âYeah.â He smirked at you. âLucky me.â
âNow, Sebastian.â James reminded you both that he was there. âI heard a rumor that you have a little crush on Y/n.â
âWell, I try not to pay attention to rumors.â Sebastian waved his hand. âBut that ones pretty accurate.â
âOh my God.â You put your hand over your heart, which was about to beat out of your chest, and laughed.
âItâs true. Iâve been meaning to tell you this for a while, but I feel like Iâve seen you all my life. And here you are in person and you look so great.â Sebastian said through a shy smile. You laughed in shock at his compliment and looked down at your lap.
âYouâre fully going for it.â James laughed at how bold Sebastian was being.
âYouâre not being a very good wingman.â You teased James as you took a long sip of your drink. The more alcohol you had in you, the easier it would be to flirt with the incredible attractive man next to you.
âI was never known for that.â James agreed. âBut I heard your brother is a pretty good one, isnât he?â
âOh My God.â You groaned, knowing exactly what James was referring to. âHeâs not.â
âWhat happened?â Sebastian wondered, never taking his eyes off you.
âI took my brother to the Oscars with me last year and we happened to be sitting next to Jake Gyllenhaal.â You explained. âAnd the whole night, heâs telling Jake about how I used to be in love with him when I was a kid. If there werenât a bunch of cameras around us, I wouldâve rung his neck.â
âSo Iâm assuming you and Jake arenât the next celebrity power couple?â James teased.
âWe are not.â You shook your head. âI can confidently say that I was still single.â
âI was just gonna and say, thereâs still hope for us.â Sebastian gestured between the two of you. You opened your mouth in shock before biting down on your tongue. You playfully hit Sebastian again, signally that you were just as interested as he was.
âYouâre really going for it.â James pointed out. âI must say, wow.â
âWhy not?â Sebastian grinned. âThis is the time.â
âYou are pretty cute, I just wanna say.â You flirted back for the hell of it. Sebastian laughed in surprise before covering his face with his hands. You laughed as well as he hunched over to hide his face.
âHeâs actually gone red now!â James pointed at him. âHe was so sure of himself and now heâs all red.â
âLeave him alone.â You pouted as you rubbed Sebastians back. Sebastian sat back up and rubbed his face with his hands.
âYeah.â Sebastian said assertively as he wrapped an arm around you. âLeave me alone. Iâm trying to flirt here.â
âHow would you ask her on a date, then?â James asked. âSince youâre so in love with her.â
âLike this.â Sebastian said as he turned to you âCe faci?â
âWould you bite me in the neck?â You asked, catching him completely off guard. He took his arm away and laughed in shock at your words.
âOh my God.â He chuckled as he looked around in embarrassment. Suddenly, he turned back to you and cupped one side of your face, tilting your neck slightly with his hand. He bit down on your exposed neck, making the audience erupt in a series of laughter and gasps. You giggled when you felt his scruff tickling your neck and made no effort to push him off.
âHe actually did it.â James looked at the audience to see if they were seeing what he was.
âShe asked me to.â Sebastian rolled his eyes playfully. His arm was still around you and neither of you wanted it off.
âIt was a hypothetical but I guess I know my answer.â You shrugged as you leaned back on the couch.
âWhy would you ask him that?â James wondered.
âLike a vampire.â You explained. âArenât vampires from Romania?â
âThatâs Transylvania.â Sebastian smiled fondly at you.
âOh.â You realized. âI still liked it.â
âIâll do it again later.â Sebastian shrugged, making your hide your face in embarrassment.
âPromise?â You said suddenly as you put your hand back on his knee. It was Sebastians turn to be baffled as he put his free hand on tops of yours.
âDarling.â He choked out, too stunned to form a full sentence.
âThis has been an intense experience.â James fans himself with his cards. âWhat will the two of you do after the show?â
âIâll probably go home, order a pizza, and pass out while watching all of Sebastianâs episodes of Once Upon a Time.â You joked.
âI was going to do the exact same thing.â Sebastian nodded. âRight after I got a job as a pizza delivery boy so I can go to Y/nâs house.â
âOr you could just come over.â You shrugged, making Sebastian blush.
âI like that idea too.â Sebastian replied.
âIâm trying to imagine what the poor pizza delivery boy is gonna see when he arrives at Y/nâs house later.â James grimaced, making the audience laugh.
âI know, right? They open the door and this is what the get.â Sebastian gestured to you. âItâs you. How lucky they are.â
You leaned into him as you laughed, the alcohol making you feel bolder than usual. Youâd never be this flirty with a man youâd just met, but he made it too easy.
The rest of the interview continued in a similar fashion, with you and Sebastian unapologetically flirting with each other every chance you got. By the end of the interview, you were so close that your knees were touching. When it came time to say goodbye, you felt an unexpected pane of sadness.
âWell, thank you both for coming on the show tonight.â James smiled. âI hope Iâll be invited to the wedding.â
âYou will. And I wanted to thank you. For this.â Sebastian said as he slipped his fingers through yours and held up your hands. You beamed and squeezed his hand, fully tipsy now the the interview was over.
After thanking James and drinking another glass of wine, you drunkenly pulled Sebastian off the couch.
âCome in the photo booth with me.â You giggled as you tugged him by the hand towards the booth.
âOkay.â He grinned as he climbed inside. He pulled you into his lap and pressed the button before wrapping his arms around your waist. The pictures began to snap away and you posed for all of them. For the first, you just held each other close and smiled. For the second, he leaned up to kiss your cheek. And for the third, he took another bite of your neck.
âThat tickles.â You giggled as the camera flashed.
âGood.â He smirked against your skin before pressing a kiss there.
âStick your tongue out.â You told him, and he obliged. You licked his tongue as the fourth picture was taken, capturing the drunken moment. The fifth flash went off right as Sebastian connected your lips to his. You continued to kiss him, tasting the alcohol on his lips and tongue.
âOh my God.â You pulled away suddenly. âI have to pee.â
You got off his lap and ran to the restroom, leaving him alone in the photo booth.
The next time you saw Sebastian, neither of you brought the kiss up. Whether you thought the other was too drunk to remember or you were simply too embarrassed to bring it up, it was not mentioned.
The flirting, however, the flirting continued.
~
âWhat would you like to see for your characters in the next movies?â The journalist asked you and Sebastian as you sat together in a press junket.
âFor our characters specifically, Iâd like to see some graphic love making.â Sebastian said seriously. âI think that thatâs something the movies have been lacking.â
âOh my God.â You laughed and shook your head. âMe too, actually. I think it would be really in character and important to the plot.â
âHow would that benefit the plot?â The journalist asked.
âItâs simple. I would just change my name to âthe plotâ and bam.â Sebastian clapped his hands. âIâm benefited.â
âHeâs such a flirt.â You said as you rested your elbow on his shoulder. âCan you believe him?â
âI canât.â The journalist chuckled.
âYou know what Iâd like to see? Some method acting. Why canât you be as quiet as Bucky?â You teased Sebastian as you flicked his ear.
âHow would I tell you how pretty you are if I wasnât speaking?â He flirted back.
âThis is what I have to put up with.â You shook your head as looked at the camera. âWhat about you? What do you want to see from our characters?â
âI would like to see Bucky do the knife trick some more.â The journalist answered you.
âWhat knife trick?â You wondered.
âItâs the thing he does when he flips his knife around and stabs people.â Sebastian explained as he moved his hand in a circle. âIt took me forever to learn.â
âWait, I wanna see it.â You smiled excitedly and turned to him.
âNo, no.â He wagged his finger at you. âIâm not doing the knife trick.â
âPlease?â You pouted. âFor me?â
âAll right, all right.â Sebastian broke into a grin. âIâm only doing this because you asked nicely.â
The journalist handed him a pen and he easily flipped it around and caught it before making a stabbing motion. You let out a gasp and stared at him in shock for a long time.
âWhatâs wrong?â He asked you.
âI wanna to fuck you, thatâs whatâs wrong.â You replied. âCan you do it again?â
Sebastian laughed at your joke as his face heated up. He knew that was just the way you two liked to tease each other, but it didnât mean it didnât make him smile.
âIâll do it again.â He nodded as picked the pen back up. âAnything for you.â
~
On a day where the interviews ended early, you spent the night in Sebastians hotel room, getting drunk on his balcony.
âWhat about you?â Sebastian asked as he took a sip of his beer. âWhat was your best kissing scene? I know youâve kissed some pretty great actors. Might be hard to pick.â
âItâs not. I hate kissing actors.â You grimaced. âItâs not even kissing. Itâs just like, limp lips on limp lips. Thereâs no passion when itâs for a scene. I hate it.â
âMaybe youâre just kissing the wrong actors.â Sebastian shrugged playfully as he gazed at you.
âI donât think so.â You shook your head. âIâve never felt anything when kissing another actor. You canât tell me you do.â
âI do.â He shrugged again. âIts not much, but I wouldnât say itâs nothing.â
âWhat? How?â You wondered. âIf you kissed me right now, you wouldnât feel anything. I guarantee it.â
âI think I would.â Sebastian disagreed.
âAll right.â You turned your chair a little to face him. âProve me wrong.â
Sebastian tweaked an eyebrow up before leaning in to kiss you. You kissed him back for a few seconds before pulling away. You looked past him for a minute as you mulled the moment over in your head.
âWhatâs the matter?â He asked quietly.
âI was incorrect.â You chuckled a little. âI guess I did feel something.â
âI told you you would.â He said smugly. âI knew youâd feel something.â
âHowâd you know?â You whined as he basked in the glory of being right.
âBecause I felt something the last time we kissed.â He said simply. âAnd I knew you did too.â
âI didnât realize you remembered that.â You smirked before talking a sip from his beer.
âCourse I do.â He replied. âI think about that night all the time. It was the start of a beautiful, sexually frustrating friendship.â
âOh, Iâm sexually frustrating?â You laughed. âTry being your friend. Itâs hard to look at you, really.â
âThatâs not how I feel about you.â He smiled a little. âI really, really like looking at you.â
âI like you too.â You smiled back.
âThatâs not what I said.â He teased. You dropped your jaw and stole his beer again, taking a long sip as you held eye contact.
âItâs what you meant.â You stuck your tongue out at him. You sat in comfortable silence for a minute, listening to the chirps of the crickets as a warm breeze wafted through the air.
âThe press tour is ending soon.â You said quietly as you adverted your eyes. âTomorrowâs the premier. Then, itâs all over.â
âI know.â He said softly. You looked at him and gave him a sad smile, to which he returned.
âWe wonât get to see each other every day anymore.â You pointed out.
âThen we better make tomorrow count.â He said simply. He knew what you were implying, that there was no point in starting something when youâd both been going home soon, but he didnât want to think about that. He just wanted to enjoy his last few days with you.
âYeah.â You smiled sadly and looked away again. âWe better.â
~
The following night at the premier, you felt an overwhelming sadness knowing that it was all ending. You loved the weeks youâd spent goofing off with Sebastian, even if it never led to a real relationship. It still meant something to you, and you hoped it meant something to him.
To counteract your sadness, you sat with Chris Evans at the bar and let him distract you. After spending a minute with him, you were feeling drunk and ready to find Sebastian. You spotted him on the red carpet, fixed your dress, and went up to him.
âHi.â You giggled as you wrapped your arms around his torso. You smiled up at him as he wrapped an arm around you, taking an usually loud whiff of his cologne.
âHey.â He chuckled as he patted your back. âHow are you doing?â
âIâm good.â You said as you swayed a little. âQuestion, is there alcohol in a Shirley Temple? Because I feel like Iâve had alcohol.â
âThere is.â He laughed again and steadied you. âDid you know that?â
âNope.â You sniffed him again. âYou smell good.â
âOh no.â He smiled as your behavior. âHow many did you have?â
âI was having a contest with Evans to see who could drink more. I had like 5.â You bragged as you almost fell over.
âOh dear.â He quickly caught you. âYouâre staying with me tonight. I donât trust drunk you.â
âNo, itâs okay. You donât have to babysit me.â You waved your hand and tried to walk away. You instantly stumbled and neatly fell, but Sebastian wrapped his arms around you and caught you.
âI think I do.â He chuckled as you put you on your feet. âCome on. Youâre sticking with me.â
~
The next morning, you woke up with a throbbing headache. Not feeling the strength to sit up, you opened a single eye and looked around. You were definitely not in your own room, but you recognized whoâs room you were in.
âGood morning.â Sebastians voice was usually loud, making you wince.
âOh God.â You groaned as you sat up. You groggily opened your eyes as Sebastian handed you a cup of coffee.
âHere.â He smiled shyly. âHowâs the head?â
âThe head is in pain.â You groaned. âSo is the rest of the body.â
âHere. Drink this.â He held out a glass of water and some Advil. âAnd take these.â
âThanks.â You smiled sheepishly as you accepted his offerings.
âDid you at least win the drinking contest?â He asked as he took a seat on the bed. You took a long sip of water and swallowed the pills before answering his questions.
âI did.â You nodded. âBut at what cost?â
âYouâll start to feel better once you get some food in you.â Sebastian said as he rubbed your shoulder. You put your hand over his and stared at him, feeling the guilt set in.
âIâm sorry I got drunk.â You mumbled. âI didnât mean to ruin the last night.â
âYou didnât ruin anything.â Sebastian shook his head. âTrust me, we still had fun. Iâm not sure how much you remember though.â
âI remember sitting with you at the premier.â You recalled. âAnd eating many, many bagels.â
âYeah, we stopped at a bakery.â He chuckled. âYou ate a dozen. I watched it all.â
âOh God.â You covered your face with your hands. âThatâs not how I wanted to spend our last night together.â
âHow did you want to spend it together?â He asked quietly.
âProbably in a way that still ended with me waking up in your bed.â You joked like you usually did. âBut I could do without the part where you watched me eat 12 bagels.â
âWhat do you mean?â He grinned. âThat was the best part.â
âHowâd I end up in your bed anyway?â You asked before taking another sip of coffee.
âYou threw your key card at a seagull who was eyeing your bagel.â He explained. âYou couldnât get into your room so I let your crash in mine.â
You looked around the room and saw his pull out couch was topped with pillows and sheets, evidence of him sleeping there.
âDid you sleep on the pull out?â You pointed to it in disbelief.
âOf course I did.â He shrugged.
âSuch a gentleman.â You scrunched your nose at him before finishing the coffee.
âBasic human decency is not exactly being a gentleman.â He pointed out.
âMaybe not.â You agreed. âBut you still are one. You prove that to me everyday.â
âThat must be why you like me so much.â He teased.
âMust be.â You dished it right back. Sebastians smile fell suddenly as he got a serious look on his face.
âI think you and I need to have a talk.â He said softly.
âOh God.â You feared. âDid I puke on you last night?â
âNo.â He chuckled. âItâs not about last night.â
âThen whatâs it about?â
âAs much as I love flirting with you, and I do, I think you should know itâs not just a joke to me.â He began. âAnd I wanted to know if it was just a joke to you or if-â
âItâs not.â You said a little too quickly, which made him smile. âI...I like you. A lot, actually. One might even call it love.â
Upon hearing this, Sebastian leaned forward to kiss you. You held a hand to stop him and gave him an apologetic look.
âI wouldnât.â You grimaced. âMy morning breath is-â
â-something I could get used to.â He cut you off before going in for the kiss. You immediately kissed him back, pulling him by his shirt to have him closer. He climbed over you as you tangled your fingers in the hair at the nape of his neck.
âI donât care if its our last day.â He mumbled against your lips. âI want to do this for real. I wanna be with you.â
You kissed him back to tell him you felt the same way, not trusting yourself to say something smooth in the heat of the moment.
âWait.â You pushed him back suddenly and held him away from you.
âWhats wrong?â He asked as he hovered over you.
âCan we get bagels after this?â You asked seriously before breaking into a smile.
âI seriously canât stand you.â He said before leaning down to kiss you again. âYouâre lucky I love you because I donât like you at all.â
â12 wasnât enough.â You giggled between kisses. âI need more. I crave them. I crave the yeast.â
Sebastian stopped kissing you for a moment and looked at you with a fond expression. You stared back at him as a content smile tugged at your lips. The flirting had finally lead to something more and neither of you could be happier.
âYou know, you might actually be more annoying than Mackie.â He teased you before leaning down to kiss your neck.
âShut up.â You laughed. âShut up and bite me in the neck.â

read to me
pairing: chris evans x booklover!actress!reader
summary: you had been so busy and tired from shooting your new movie that you hadn't picked up a book in weeks... so when you do, it's very hard to put it back down again
warnings: mentions and possible spoilers of the book Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover but other than that, there is none... just fluff <3
a/n: this is my first time writing chris evans and i love him so much
"Honey?" Chris whispered tiredly as he rubbed his eyes, turning on the lamp to find your side of the bed cold and still made. It wasn't a surprise. You had been getting home late at night for weeks because of filming and long days on set... but it was 3 am and you were usually always home by 1 at the latest. He noticed Dodger wasn't in his usual place at the end of the bed. With a slight sigh, Chris got up, slipping on his boxers before making his way downstairs.
Any worries about where you or Dodger was had slipped away as he reached the bottom of the stairs, seeing your boots and bag by the door and light shining from under the door of your tiny home library. Chris chuckled to himself as he gently pushed the door open to see you laid on her sofa, book in hand as Dodger rested his head on your stomach, fast asleep.
"It's 3 am, babe" He spoke up, smiling when you turned around and smiled up at him tiredly. You were already tired when you got home 2 hours ago but after a conversation about books with your co-star, you had to get home and read. It had been weeks since you last picked up a book... you promised only a few chapters but at chapter 17 it was just getting too good to put down no matter how tired you were getting. "Come to bed"
"But it's getting so good," You say, fighting the urge to close your eyes and fall asleep. "But I will come to bed and read if you carry me, take off your boxers, my jeans and put me in one of your shirts as soon as we get there... I really don't have the energy to dress myself."
Chris rolled his eyes, unable to contain his laugh as he moved towards you. Quicky running his hand over Dodger's fur to wake him before picking you up bridal style, making you giggle as you covered your face with the book, and making his way out of the room and back up the stairs. You laughed tiredly when he gently threw you down onto your side of the bed after ripping the neatly made sheets away.Â
You laid down, reading the pages as he pulled your jeans off and discarded them on the floor. "You're gonna have to put the book down for a second, honey," He said softly, smiling slightly as you pouted and reluctantly put the bookmark in and laid the book beside you. "Arms up" Chris ordered. You did exactly what he said for him to carefully take off your shirt... then your bra leaving you sitting there in only your thong. Of course, he marvelled for a minute.Â
"Chris it's cold and you've seen it a million times before" You tiredly mumbled, eyes half-closed but refusing to go to sleep.Â
"Doesn't mean I don't love looking, doll." He smirked before taking one of his shirts from under your pillow and placing it over your head, guiding your arms through the armholes. Knowing that was done, you got under the covers and opened up your book... not before watching him throw his boxers across the room. He got in beside you, pulling you into his arms. "What's it about?" Chris asked.Â
"I'm too tired to go into full detail but basically this girl, Tate, moves in temporarily with her brother and meets her brother's best friend, Miles. He doesn't want love and she doesn't have time for it so they basically have the perfect no-strings-attached agreement when they decide to just have sex as long as Tate sticks to his two rules." You explain with as much enthusiasm you have. Chris couldn't help but smile as he listened to you speak. He loved hearing you talk about books. It was your one true passion and could go on and on forever.
"What are the rules?" He wonders.
"Never ask about the past; don't expect a future," You tell him with a smile. "It's really good so far."
"If it's so good, maybe I should read it"Â
"You could but you would definitely see me in a completely different light if you do. The cover may seem innocent but what's inside is far from it" You say, refusing to meet his eyes and only looking up when he chuckled. "What?"
"Honey, I know exactly what you read. I made the mistake of picking up a book you'd left out. Those few pages I read still haunt me." Chris joked making you roll your eyes.Â
"Well, this book is tamer compared to what I usually read... And I feel compelled to tell you that I only started reading smut books when I was like 17"Â
"I don't really care what you read as long as it makes you happy but I do think you should read to me," He said, pulling you impossibly closer into his side as he watched your smile widen.Â
"Chapter seventeen. Corbin: Want to grab dinner? What time do you get off work? Me: Ten minutes. Where at? Corbin: We're nearby. We'll just meet you out front" You read. "We? I can't ignore the excitement that flooded me with that text. Surely the we means him and Miles. I can't think of anyone else who would be coming with him, and I know Miles got home last nightâ
It didn't take very long before your words became slowed before they stopped altogether. Still smiling, Chris gently took the book from your hand, placed the bookmark in and put it on the bedside table before switching off the lamp, being careful not to wake you with his movements as your head was resting on his chest like how it did every night for the last 4 months you'd lived together. "I love you" He whispered, pressing a kiss to your hair.

'Loki' takes over: Tom Hiddleston on his new TV series and a decade in the MCU
Ten years after Hiddleston first chose chaos in Thor, Marvelâs fan favorite God of Mischief is going even bigger with his time-bending Disney+ show.
Tom Hiddleston is Loki, and he is burdened with glorious purpose: After playing Thor's puckish brother for over a decade in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, no one understands the mercurial Asgardian God of Mischief as well as the actor. He can teach an entire seminar on Loki if given the opportunity â which he actually did during pre-production on his forthcoming Disney+ show. In conversation, Hiddleston quotes lines from his MCU debut, 2011's Thor, almost verbatim, and will playfully correct you if you mistakenly refer to Asgard's Rainbow Bridge as the Bifrost, which is the portal that connects Loki and Thor's homeworld to the Nine Realms, including Midgard, a.k.a. Earth. "Well, the Bifrost technically is the energy that runs through the bridge," he says with a smile. "But nine points to Gryffindor!" And when he shows up to the photo shoot for this very digital cover, he hops on a call with our photo editor to pitch ways the concept could be even more Loki, like incorporating the flourish the trickster does whenever magically conjuring something. The lasting impression is that playing Loki isn't just a paycheck.
"Rather than ownership, it's a sense of responsibility I feel to give my best every time and do the best I can because I feel so grateful to be a part of what Marvel Studios has created," the 40-year-old Brit tells EW over Zoom a few days after the shoot and a week out from Thor's 10th anniversary. "I just want to make sure I've honored that responsibility with the best that I can give and the most care and thought and energy."
After appearing in three Thor movies and three Avengers, Hiddleston is bringing that passion to his first solo Marvel project, Loki, the House of Ideas' third Disney+ series following the sitcom pastiche WandaVision and the topical The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Led by head writer Michael Waldron (Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Heels), the six-episode drama sees Hiddleston's shapeshifting agent of chaos step out from behind his brother's shadow and into the spotlight for a timey-wimey, sci-fi adventure that aims to get to the bottom of who Loki really is. "I wanted to explore slightly more complex character questions," says Waldron. "It's not just good versus bad. Is anybody all good? Is anybody all bad? What makes a hero, a hero? A villain, a villain?" Â
Even though Loki â who loves sowing mayhem with his illusion magic and shapeshifting, all with a major chip on his shoulder â has never been one for introspection, the idea of building an entire show around him was a no-brainer for Marvel. When asked why Loki was one of the studio's first Disney+ shows, Marvel president Kevin Feige replies matter-of-factly, "More Hiddleston, more Loki." First introduced as Thor's (Chris Hemsworth) envious brother in Kenneth Branagh's Thor, Loki went full Big Bad in 2012's The Avengers. That film cemented the impish rogue as one of the shared universe's fan favorites, thanks to Hiddleston's ability to make him deliciously villainous yet charismatic and, most importantly, empathetic. The character's popularity is one of the reasons he's managed to avoid death many times.
"He's been around for thousands of years. He had all sorts of adventures," says Feige. "Wanting to fill in the blanks and see much more of Loki's story [was] the initial desire [for the series]."
The Loki we meet on the show is not the one who fought the Avengers in 2012 and evolved into an antihero in Thor: The Dark World and Thor: Ragnarok before meeting his demise at the hands of the mad titan Thanos (Josh Brolin) in 2018's Avengers: Infinity War. Instead, we'll be following a Loki from a branched timeline (a variant, if you will) after he stole the Tesseract following his thwarted New York invasion and escaped S.H.I.E.L.D. custody during the time heist featured in Avengers: Endgame. In other words, this Loki hasn't gone through any sort of redemption arc. He's still the charming yet petulant god who firmly believes he's destined to rule and has never gotten his due.
Premiering June 9, Loki begins with the Time Variance Authority â a bureaucratic organization tasked with safeguarding the proper flow of time â arresting the Loki Variant seen in Endgame because they want his help fixing all of the timeline problems he caused while on the run with the Tesseract. So there will be time travel, and a lot more of it than in Endgame. As Loki makes his way through his own procedural, he'll match wits with new characters including Owen Wilson's Agent Mobius, a brilliant TVA analyst, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw's Judge Renslayer. The question in early episodes is whether Loki will help them or take over.
"One of the things Kevin Feige led on was, 'I think we should find a way of exploring the parts of Loki that are independent of his relationship with Thor,' or see him in a duality or in relationship with others, which I thought was very exciting," says Hiddleston, who also serves as an executive producer on the show. "So the Odinson saga, that trilogy of films, still has its integrity, and we don't have to reopen it and retell it."
Yet, in order to understand where Loki is going, it's important to see where he came from.
Hiddleston can't believe how long he and Loki have been connected. "I've been playing this character for 11 years," he says. "Which is the first time I have said that sentence, I realize, and it [blows] my mind. I don't know what percentage that is exactly of my 40 years of being alive, but it's substantial."
His time as Loki actually goes a bit further back, to 2009 â a year after Robert Downey Jr. big banged the MCU into existence with Iron Man â when he auditioned for Thor. It's no secret that Hiddleston initially went in for the role of the titular God of Thunder, but Feige and director Kenneth Branagh thought his natural charm and flexibility as an actor made him better suited for the movie's damaged antagonist. "Tom gave you an impression that he could be ready for anything, performance-wise," says Branagh, who had previously worked with him on a West End revival of Checkov's Ivanov and the BBC series Wallander. "Tom has a wild imagination, so does Loki. He's got a mischievous sense of humor and he was ready to play. It felt like he had a star personality, but he was a team player."
Hiddleston fully immersed himself in the character. Outside of studying Loki's history in the Marvel Comics, he also researched how Loki and the Trickster God archetype appeared across mythology and different cultures. "He understood that he was already in something special [and] it was a special character in a special part of that early moment in the life of the Marvel universe where [he] also needed to step up in other ways," says Branagh, who was impressed by the emotional depth Hiddleston brought to the part, especially when it came to how isolated Loki felt in the Asgardian royal family. Â
There was a lot riding on that first Thor feature. For one, no one knew if audiences would immediately latch onto a Shakespearean superhero movie partially set on an alien planet populated by the Norse Gods of legend. Second, it was integral to Feige's plans for the shared universe. Loki was supposed to be the main villain in The Avengers, which would not only mirror how Earth's mightiest heroes joined forces in 1963's Avengers #1 but also give Thor a believable reason for teaming up with Iron Man, Captain America (Chris Evans), and the rest of the capes. Feige first clued Hiddleston into those larger plans when the actor was in L.A. before Thor started shooting.
"I was like, 'Excuse me?' Because he was already three, four steps ahead," says Hiddleston. "That took me a few minutes to process, because I didn't quite realize how it just suddenly had a scope. And being cast as Loki, I realized, was a very significant moment for me in my life, and was going to remain. The creative journey was going to be so exciting."
Hiddleston relished the opportunity to go full villain in Avengers, like in the scene where Loki ordered a crowd to kneel before him outside a German opera house: "It's the unspoken truth of humanity, that you crave subjugation," says the Machiavellian god. "The bright lure of freedom diminishes your life's joy in a mad scramble for power, for identity. You were made to be ruled. In the end, you will always kneel."
"I just knew that in the structure of that film, I had to lean into his role as a pure antagonist," Hiddleston recalls. "What I always found curious and complex about the way Loki is written in Avengers, is that his status as an antagonist comes from the same well of not belonging and being marginalized and isolated in the first Thor film. Loki now knows he has no place in Asgard."
Loki did find a place within the audience's hearts, though. Feige was "all in" on Hiddleston as his Loki from the beginning, but even he couldn't predict how much fans would love him. Feige recalls the reaction at the 2013 San Diego Comic-Con: "Did we know that after he was the villain in two movies, he would be bringing thousands of people to their feet in Hall H, in costume, chanting his name? No, that was above and beyond the plan that we were hoping for and dreaming of." It was a dream Feige first got an inkling of a year earlier during the Avengers press tour when a Russian fan slipped past security, snuck into Mark Ruffalo's car, and asked the Hulk actor to give Hiddleston a piece of fan art she created. "That was one of the early signs there was much more happening with this quote-unquote villain." Â
Despite that popularity, the plan was to kill Loki off in 2013's Thor: The Dark World, but the studio reversed course after test audiences refused to believe he actually died fighting the Dark Elves. Alas, he couldn't out-illusion death forever. After returning in Taika Waititi's colorful and idiosyncratic Thor: Ragnarok, Hiddleston's character perished for real in the opening moments of Infinity War. In typical Loki fashion, before Thanos crushed his windpipe, he delivered a defiant speech that indicated he'd finally made peace with the anger he felt toward his family. Â
"It felt very, very final, and I thought, 'Okay, that's it. This is Loki's final bow and a conclusive end to the Odinson saga,'" says Hiddleston, who shot that well-earned death scene in 2017. Â
But, though he didn't know it yet, the actor's MCU story was far from over.

When Hiddleston returned to film two scenes in Avengers: Endgame in 2017, he had no idea where Loki portaled off to after snatching the Tesseract. "Where'd he go? When does he go? How does he get there? These are all questions I remember asking on the day, and then not being given any answers," Hiddleston recalls. To be fair, it's likely the Powers That Be didn't necessarily have answers then. While Feige can't exactly recall when the writers' room for Endgame first devised Loki's escape sequence, he does know that setting up a future show wasn't the primary goal â because a Loki series wasn't on the horizon just yet.
"[That scene] was really more of a wrinkle so that one of the missions that the Avengers went on in Endgame could get screwed up and not go well, which is what required Cap and Tony to go further back in time to the '70s," says Feige. Soon after that, though, former Disney CEO Bob Iger approached Feige about producing content for the studio's forthcoming streaming service. "I think the notion that we had left this hanging loose end with Loki gave us the in for what a Loki series could be. So by the time [Endgame] came out, we did know where it was going."
As for Hiddleston, he didn't find out about the plans for a Loki show until spring 2018, a few weeks before Infinity War hit theaters. "I probably should not have been surprised, but I was," says the actor. "But only because Infinity War had felt so final."
Nevertheless, Hiddleston was excited about returning for his show. He was eager to explore Loki's powers, especially the shapeshifting, and what it meant that this disruptive figure still managed to find a seat beside the gods in mythology. "I love this idea [of] Loki's chaotic energy somehow being something we need. Even though, for all sorts of reasons, you don't know whether you can trust him. You don't know whether he's going to betray you. You don't why he's doing what he's doing," says Hiddleston. "If he's shapeshifting so often, does he even know who he is? And is he even interested in understanding who he is? Underneath all those masks, underneath the charm and the wit, which is kind of a defense anyway, does Loki have an authentic self? Is he introspective enough or brave enough to find out? I think all of those ideas are all in the series â ideas about identity, ideas about self-knowledge, self-acceptance, and the difficulty of it."
âThe series will explore Loki's powers in a way they have not yet been explored, which is very, very exciting.â
The thing that truly sold Hiddleston on the show was Marvel's decision to include the Time Variance Authority, a move he describes as "the best idea that anybody had pertaining to the series." Feige and Loki executive producer Stephen Broussard had hoped to find a place for the TVA â an organization that debuted in 1986's Thor #372 and has appeared in She-Hulk and Fantastic Four stories â in the MCU for years, but the right opportunity never presented itself until Loki came along. "Putting Loki into his own procedural series became the eureka moment for the show," says Feige. Â
The TVA's perspective on time and reality also tied into the themes that Waldron, Loki's head writer, was hoping to explore. "Loki is a character that's always reckoning with his own identity, and the TVA, by virtue of what they do, is uniquely suited to hold up a mirror to Loki and make him really confront who he is and who he was supposed to be," says Waldron. Hiddleston adds: "[That] was very exciting because in the other films, there was always something about Loki that was very controlled. He seemed to know exactly what the cards in his hand were and how he was going to play themâŚ. And Loki versus the TVA is Loki out of control immediately, and in an environment in which he's completely behind the pace, out of his comfort zone, destabilized, and acting out."
To truly dig into who Loki is, the creative team had to learn from the man who knows him best: Hiddleston. "I got him to do a thing called Loki School when we first started," says director Kate Herron. "I asked him to basically talk through his 10 years of the MCU â from costumes to stunts, to emotionally how he felt in each movie. It was fantastic."
Hiddleston got something out of the Loki school, too. Owen Wilson both attended the class and interviewed Hiddleston afterward so that he could better understand Loki, as his character Mobius is supposed to be an expert on him. During their conversation, Wilson pointedly asked Hiddleston what he loved about playing the character.
"And I said, 'I think it's because he has so much range,'" says Hiddleston. "I remember saying this to him: 'On the 88 keys on the piano, he can play the twinkly light keys at the top. He can keep it witty and light, and he's the God of Mischief, but he can also go down to the other side and play the heavy keys. And he can play some really profound chords down there, which are about grief and betrayal and loss and heartbreak and jealousy and pride.'" Hiddleston recalls Wilson being moved by the description: "He said, 'I think I might say that in the show.' And it was such a brilliant insight for me into how open Owen is as an artist and a performer.'"

Everyone involved is particularly excited for audiences to see Hiddleston and Wilson's on-screen chemistry. "Mobius is not unlike Owen Wilson in that he's sort of nonplussed by the MCU," says Feige. "[Loki] is used to getting a reaction out of people, whether it's his brother or his father, or the other Avengers. He likes to be very flamboyant and theatrical. Mobius doesn't give him the reaction he's looking for. That leads to a very unique relationship that Loki's not used to."
As for the rest of the series, we know that Loki will be jumping around time and reality, but the creative team isn't keen on revealing when and where. "Every episode, we tried to take inspiration from different things," says Waldron, citing Blade Runner's noir aesthetic as one example.
"Part of the fun of the multiverse and playing with time is seeing other versions of characters, and other versions of the titular character in particular," says Feige, who also declined to confirm if Loki ties into Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and/or other upcoming projects.
Making Loki was especially meaningful to Hiddleston because they shot most of it during the pandemic, in late 2020. "It will remain one of the absolute most intense, most rewarding experiences of my life," he says. "It's a series about time, and the value of time, and what time is worth, and I suppose what the experience of being alive is worth. And I don't quite know yet, and maybe I don't have perspective on it, if all the thinking and the reflecting that we did during the lockdown ended up in the series. But in some way, it must have because everything we make is a snapshot of where we were in our lives at that time."
While it remains to be seen what the future holds for Loki beyond this initial season, Hiddleston isn't preparing to put the character to bed yet. "I'm open to everything," he says. "I have said goodbye to the character. I've said hello to the character. I said goodbye to the character [again]. I've learned not to make assumptions, I suppose. I'm just grateful that I'm still here, and there are still new roads to explore."

Rewatching the Marvel films, I've realized that maybe Bucky is giving longing looks to Steve, but Steve was sparking with Peggy, Thor, Sam, Natasha, Maria, and Sharon. There really is a difference in the way Chris Evans is playing it. He loves Bucky, yes, but fraternal not romantic. It really brings home to me how so much of the Endgame hate is people focused on Bucky not getting who/what he wanted, regardless of Steve's feelings and dreams.
Yeah, so hereâs my take on that whole thing.
I personally agree with you that Steve had more/better chemistry with a lot of characters who werenât Bucky, but thatâs not even the point. Chemistry is absurdly subjective. Pairing choice is absurdly subjective. I see romance where others donât, and vice-versa, and thatâs fine. Thatâs a good thing, mostly. If all of us only cared about the canon pairings, how boring would that be?
My issue with the people youâre talking about is not rooted in, oh we interpret this piece of media differently. Itâs as you said, the rampant, and frankly really gross implication that Buckyâs needs outweigh Steveâs. And the fandomâs frankly disturbing interpretation of, âIâm with you âtil the end of the line,â and how that apparently means Steve isnât allowed to want or need anything else in his life that isnât Bucky.
With you til the end of the line does not mean that Steve is now dedicating the rest of his life to Bucky and only Bucky. He wasnât canonically doing that in the first movieâfanon interpretation to the contraryâand he wasnât doing it there either. He was saying look, kill me if you have to, but Iâm not going to fight you, because I believe youâre still Bucky, I see that even if you donât. Iâm gonna keep believing that, and Iâm going to keep trying to get you better, and youâre always going to be my friend.
In the context of that filmânot the Stucky fandom versionâthatâs what Steve was saying, and he kept his promise. He kept looking for Bucky after Cap 2, he kept reminding Bucky that yes, you physically killed those people and that matters, but you were not in control. He kept reminding Buckyâand everyone elseâof that so that Bucky wouldnât take on burdens that werenât his, wouldnât blame himself more than he deserved to. He brought Bucky to Wakanda, to people who could help him get better in a way Steve himself never could have.
He kept his promise, within the context that it was made, which was not romantic. It doesnât mean reading them romantically is invalid, but when the filmmakers have said flat out for years that, as far as theyâre concerned itâs not a romantic love, you canât cry queerbait. The longing looks that youâre seeing arenât going to be seen by everyone else, just as the ones Iâm seeing arenât, and you canât say you were cheated out of something you were promised when youâve been actively told for years that no, you arenât going to be getting that. You can be annoyed at not getting the thing you want, but you cannot say that you were promised something you didnât get. The only people who have a valid claim there are Staron shippers, but anyway.
I was reading something recently about twin brothers who were both in therapy, one who, on the surface, was in much worse shape than the other. Paraphrasing something the psychiatrist said, âOne brotherâs treatment should not harm the other.â In this case, the more stable brother was basically ignoring his own needs, killing himself trying to save the other, and the doctor called him out on it.
Steve has trauma too. Steve deserves to heal too. Steve deserves to have the life that he wants too. âTil the end of the line does not mean that Buckyâs needs forever come before his own, nor should it.
