watching day of the moon and im thinking abt why the silence didnt work and theres many factors but i think one of the biggest is that the whole idea of it is supposed to be based on the horror of something you saw ‘out of the corner of your eye’ that isnt there when u look back and u cant describe it or remember it all thats left is this vague unease but then they SHOWED THEM TO US IMMEDIATELY

#imagine how much spookier the whole arc wouldv been if u never actually saw a creature #u just saw the characters reacting and forgetting and piecing together scraps #it also didnt work bc they were blatantly trying to cash in on the weeping angels #which were also all significantly less interesting stories every time they got brought back after blink #but in fairness trying very hard to recapture the appeal of an already popular monster is on brand for dw so i respect it #im not getting into the resolution being the dr brainwashing humanity to commit genocide constantly forever bc we all know that was dumb #but the silence themselves did have potential #dw chrono #a
