Fire Emblem: Three Houses 2/13 Trailer Analysis - Gameplay Elements
After such a long wait for information about the newest Fire Emblem title, we finally had a trailer drop on 2/13 , giving us another glimpse of the game we have been so eagerly anticipating.  While still very much so a Fire Emblem game, it has no doubt taken a lot of people by surprise, given what we’ve learned about the cast and story - while we figured Byleth was being referred to as teacher by the narrator, I don’t think we expected for Byleth to be a teacher at an Officer’s Academy for nobles.
Regardless, the game is due to launch on July 26th, so a lot of what we’ve seen in this trailer is likely what we’re due to be seeing in this game.  While I am analyzing the trailers we’ve been given, due to the sheer length I will be focusing on the gameplay for this post.  If you want a refresher before reading, you can see the trailer here.  The analysis is below.
Tumblr media
In the first look at gameplay, we see Byleth approaching the Black Eagles house - presumably, the trailer decided to go with Byleth instructing the Black Eagles.  It looks to be a meeting before the house travels out to fight the bandits, which will likely be the pre-mission structure for some of the earlier maps.  Of note is in the upper-left corner of the screen, which reads “Entrance Hall - Day.”  The former isn’t particularly interesting, but I find the latter worth noting: while a time system isn’t exactly new to FE (in Fates, certain events would be available at certain times of the day or after a day had passed), it makes me think it will play a role in this one as well - perhaps you can only teach during the day, which can be interrupted by events like needing to go into battle, and there are nighttime events unrelated to teaching.
Tumblr media
As we see shortly thereafter, the presumably-aforementioned bandits that were located by the knights are confronted by the Black Eagles.  While this just mostly pre-battle map stuff, I did notice he’s standing on a glowing tile (it’s even more glowing in the Japanese trailer, interestingly enough).  There’s a couple of potential meanings for that, such as it being a heal/”throne” tile (where Kostas stays holed up to give himself a boost/recovery like most bosses) and/or a seize location (the two can be identical, after all).  It’s impossible to say for sure, but it does make me wonder...
Tumblr media
We get an overall look at the Black Eagles in this shot.  There’s a few things of note here, so let’s delve into it: 1) Byleth (and as we can see below, Bernadetta) both have a total movement of 4 squares, which is rather low for a Fire Emblem game - Not counting Heroes, I think only Gaiden and Echoes have movement that low to start with for non-armored units.  Given that we’ve seen Byleth with 5 movement in the previous trailer, I believe movement ranges might have been decreased, though why is still up in the air. 2) Almost every single unit has three upwards facing green arrows to the bottom-right of left model, and both Byleth and Bernadetta have those same green arrows in their little info box on the bottom-left of the screen, to the right of their HP.  Notably, only Dorothea is lacking this indicator.  What this means is unknown for the time being, but it makes me wonder.
Tumblr media
Bernadetta is selected to be the one going forth, so we get a slightly clearer view of some of the basic UI.  In the top left, we see a small tab dedicated to describing the current highlighted terrain and it’s effects - in this case, Flatlands, which is noted to be “Terrain with no special effects.”  In the bottom left, we’re informed of basic info on the unit - their Name, HP, Level, currently equipped weapon, a 3DS-esque overworld sprite, and those triangles again.  Nothing more to say, however, so continuing on...
Tumblr media
We see the updated drop down options menu.  For one, it seems “Attack” has been shortened to Atk (I kinda hope they undo that, personally, it’s weird to see it shortened).  “Combat Arts” has also been shortened to “Arts” (a bit iffy on that, too, but I’m not as bothered there).  We can also see “Gambit,” which has possibly replaced what was “Formation” prior.  “Equip” and “Items” were also options beforehand, but it’s likely “Equip” has been merged into “Items” like in prior games.  Meanwhile, while “Trade” was technically not seen beforehand, no one was close enough to allies in the previous trailer, so it’s probably there now for that reason.  “Magic” has also been removed from the options - whether it’s due to Magic being merged with “Attack” (and “Heal” having it’s own location) or because Bernadetta can’t use magic currently, I couldn’t say.
Tumblr media
Given that Bernadetta prepares to attack, we then get to transition into the combat preparation menu.  It bares a lot of resemblance to the previous menu, containing a lot of the same layout, only a bit more uncluttered.  On the bottom-right, we can see that it’s been laid out into more organized boxes.  Defense has also presumably been changed back after it was “Endurance” last trailer, but it seems “Resistance” may be “Resilience” now.  The top-left is much the same as beforehand, albeit we now see those triangles to the right of the Bernadetta’s HP and Bernadetta’s class is “Noble,” presumably a class she shares with everyone else that isn’t Byleth and maybe Edelgard (her class in the previous trailer was Aristocrat, but in the Japanese trailers, Bernadetta and Edelgard share the same class, so it’s likely she’ll have been made into a “Noble” now).
On the top right, we see the weapon menu, which is very much similar to how it was in the prior trailer.  One thing of note, however, is that the “Mini Bow” Bernadetta is carrying lacks the Feather icon that the Iron Bow has.  This indicates that said bow isn’t effective against flying units, so I figure the bow probably has some extra effect to make it worth using alongside the Iron Bow (such as how the Short Bow had lower weight and better crit in the GBA games, or 1 range like in Fates).
Tumblr media
We now get to see the combat forecast menu, and it’s about what we’d expect it to be compared given what we saw last trailer (seen to the right), pretty much the exact same layout as before.  That said, it seems we now have an idea of what that tab above the weapon’s is for, as the “None” has now been replaced with “No Combat Arts.”  There’s also a icon above Bernadetta similar to Byleth’s, so it’s probably a skill icon of some sort.  Finally, there’s two weapon icons next to said icon with “Lv 1″ at the bottom right, which wasn’t there before: what exactly this means isn’t clear, perhaps it’s just an indication of current weapon rank but it’s impossible to say for sure.
Tumblr media
Continuing from the above, we can see that Combat Arts can be cycled through in the same ways as weapons/spells in other Fire Emblems.  In this case, Bernadetta swaps to Curved Shot - introduced in Shadows of Valentia, it decreased HP by 1 to increase damage by 1 and hit chance by 30%.  This Curved Shot seems to increase range by 1 (something that probably didn’t see use in Shadows of Valentia due to bows having 1 massive 5 range already) and a damage increase of 1 as well (no way to tell if it also increases hit chance, as Bernadetta had max hit chance already).  It also doesn’t use any HP, but given the 3 placed above the Bow’s 50 durability, it makes me think that Three Houses will have weapon durability be used up to trigger Arts.
As a final note, in Echoes, every Combat Art would prevent follow-up attack from triggering (with a few exceptions like Double Lion, which functioned akin to doubles a la later-game Brave weapons).  While Bernadetta couldn’t double beforehand due to not being fast enough anyway, I’m thinking this will remain as well to help continue the balance there.
On the right, I included the Japanese trailer’s representation of the same - interestingly, the range does not increase by 1 (and we can tell it IS supposedly the same skill because that’s the same name for Curved Shot in Japan).  I don’t know what to make of this discrepancy yet, but I’m certain it means something...
Tumblr media
Now, just a more minor thing, but they’ve definitely put a bit more effort into making the allied soldiers look a bit more unique than those “Blond dudes in blue clothing” that was nigh-omnipresent beforehand.  Definitely good to know that what we saw in the first trailer was not everything we’d be seeing beforehand.
Tumblr media
And then we get to see a Critical Hit in action, which definitely tells us that what we saw at the tail end of the first trailer with Byleth was a critical hit then, too.  And it looks like they forced that critical, too, unless Petra is such a broken unit she’s got a natural 100% critical rate with an Iron Sword.  That said, I can’t complain too much, as...
Tumblr media
We finally get to see a post-battle experience gain screen - something we haven’t seen at all up to this point, so this is pretty valuable to us.  I also made sure to take a screen shot of the before situation, so we can see exactly what she gained.  So, let’s break down everything we see, bit by bit: 1) The top is the standard “Until Next Level” experience bar most FEs have, but there’s a slight twist: it looks like Petra needs to gain a total of 110 experience instead of the regular 100.  Why exactly this change exists is difficult to know for sure, though here’s hoping this doesn’t impact unit progression too significantly. 2) We also see her gain points in what is referred to as the “Professor Level,” which seems to likely be akin to Weapon Ranks in most FEs.  We see her gain 3 points in Swords, and 2 points in what we later know to be Authority; interestingly, given the clip beforehand, it’s impossible to say why she gained it, given she didn’t seem to be doing anything out of the ordinary, nor why it only gained two points.  I have a theory I’ll elaborate on later tying into this, though. 3) We also see her gain a single point in a bar under a tad labeled “Until class is mastered.”  While we can likely tie toward class progression seen later in the video, I’ll elaborate how I think it ties in during that analysis. 4) There’s finally an experience bat under a tab labelled “Until Battalion levels up,” and she gains 15 points in “Empire Infantry.”  Now, it’s easy enough to know what those are: the generic soldiers fighting beside her.  But what I’m curious about is what will occur as they level up.  Does leveling them up grant access to different types of infantry, or does is that tied to “Authority” and does leveling those up grant access to new gambits?  To be seen, I suppose.
Tumblr media
We then transition to a scene presumably in the Garreg Mach Monastery, where Ferdinand and Sylvain are poised to duel each other with Training Lances.  This reminds me of some degree to the Arena in a number of FEs, as well as the duels one could have in New Mystery of the Emblem.  There’s a couple of interesting things to note here: 1) The tab at the top indicates this is “Round 2,” likely indicating some fight preceded this one in some way.  Whether it’s Ferdinand fighting his way through some students or it’s several paired into duels, it’s impossible to say. 2) The reward for winning the duel is apparently 300G and an Intermediate Seal.  We later learn that the latter is required to change classes, as it’s listed as such when Edelgard class changes to Brigand.  As it’s unknown how else these will be earned, these duels might be important when it comes to improving your units. 3) Sylvain and Ferdinand have both Lances and Axes to choose from (and Ferdinand also has Swords), though both use Lances to duel each other.  This makes me think that units in these situations will be saddled with the same weapons so as to make the duels relatively fair, presuming the weapon triangle is present. 4) Back to the Arena comparisons, we see that the player is given an option to withdraw in the bottom right.  The player obviously accepts the duel, given they have no chance to lose, but it’s nice that we’re given the option to back out of duels we can’t win/don’t want to risk before they begin, especially since we’re given a combat forecast to help us make our decision. 5) Finally, most of the Arena duels in previous Fire Emblems (even in New Mystery’s Barracks duels you had to pay to enter) had your units facing generic enemies.  As we see Sylvain in the Monastery earlier, but not as part of the Black Eagles, this makes me think most of the enemies one can fight in the Monastery will be picked from other houses.  Whether we will end up fighting generics as well in these duels, or maybe even teachers, is unknown.   We also don’t know for sure if arenas exist outside of the barracks, as they did in New Mystery, so who knows how this will end up being?
Tumblr media
We’re then given a look at the teaching mechanics that this game looks to be pushing as a major mechanic.  At the very top, we see a meter with the number 3 below it - given the various icons beside “Turoring” and “Auto-Tutor,” it’s likely that you get a maximum of 3 tutors before you run out of time that “day”, so that one can’t abuse the tutor system. Both Tutoring and Set Goals is explored in more detail later in the trailer, so I’ll save those for later.  Auto-Tutor, considering the 3 icon, is likely allowing the game to determine which someones are selected for tutoring; this would no doubt be useful for those who either don’t want to be bothered to figure out/use the tutor system or just can’t decide - hopefully, there will be options to select auto-tutor after using up a few tutor plans in case one figures out a couple to tutor but can’t figure out what to use the final one(s) on.  Group Task is a complete enigma, given that we’re never given a peek at how it works - while it obviously involves students working together, the time costs involved and how it is used is still unknown.  There’s also “Start Class” as the final option - this makes me think that you first select who you want to tutor and set up the goals/group tasks, and then select this option to put it all into action; that said, Tutoring vs Start Class could be different matters entirely, like classes being focused on everyone gaining progression in Goals while Tutoring is focused on individual students.  To be seen, I suppose. Finally, of note is the rather empty classroom - only Edelgard, Dorothea, Bernadetta, and Ferdinand (hidden behind the “Group Task” bar, visible very briefly after Tutoring is selected) are visible in this shot.  Perhaps this means tutoring will be limited to select students if they’re around, akin to how you had limited options with who you could spend time with in the Private Quarters portion of the My Castle.  Of course, it could mean nothing and you’re not limited by who is seen on-screen.
Tumblr media
Here we see Tutoring in action, with Dorothea as the subject of a tutoring session.  While Byleth decides aid her in learning how to use Reason magic, we can see that technically every option is available (including Hvy Armor, Riding, and Flying lower on the list, considering the sidebar has lower to go).  Below the Skill Details box, we can see her Current Goals is Sword and Reason focus - to be elaborated upon later.  Above that, meanwhile, we can see a bar with a Smiley icon, below which reads “You can train one more times.”  This likely means, in the English trailer version, Byleth had already instructed twice before.
Focusing on the “Skill Details” box, we can see that deciding to tutor her in Reason magic would yield 6 EXP to that rank - +4 from Base (likely meaning tutoring in general offers a certain base growth) and +2 from “Strengths.”  The latter likely means that Dorothea is incline toward growth in the categories marked by the Blue upwards arrows (It likely does not mean it’s because of her focus - you’ll see why under Linhardt’s instruction).  There’s also a Red downward arrows, by what is later identified Faith magic - likely meaning that she would have a penalty if one tried to tutor her in that.  Interestingly, Faith is also marked by 3 stars, but what those could mean is unknown.
Tumblr media
In the Japanese trailer, meanwhile, we can see her getting instruction in Swords, which gives us a peek at that other icon I left for now.  Now, my best translation efforts via Google Translate (And I only found out after Serenes Forest already translated it...) revealed it to say “Teacher correction,” which... probably isn’t 100% accurate.  But this makes me believe that selecting skills tagged with the index finger add a bonus to EXP gained related to Byleth in some way (maybe Byleth is trained in the marked skills, and tutoring the students in skills he’s proficient with offers a bonus).  We can also see the “Tutor Bar” from the classroom above Dorothea in the Japanese version, but it’s mysteriously missing in the English version.  Wish I knew why, but who knows for sure.
Tumblr media
We can see what gains is made from the tutoring now, with Dorothea gaining EXP x 1.5 - whereas the prior screen said she’d gain 6, she gains 9 instead, going from 62 to 53 (in the Japanese version, the same happens, where she gains 12 EXP instead of 8, going from 15 to 3).  I can’t offer up a good reason why she’s gained 1.5 times the expected amount.  Perhaps those smiley faces indicate mood, with students earning more EXP if in a good mood; alternatively, it could be based on supports between Byleth and his students, or maybe it’s just random and we had some brute-forced luck.  Again, to be determined.
Above her dialogue tab, on the left, we see her portrait in a small square with a yellow arrow pointing upward on the upper-left corner and a heart in the upper-right corner.  We’ve all pretty certain to see supports in some capacity, so it’s likely that indicates a support gain because of him tutoring her.  As an aside, in the Japanese version, Dorothea has two arrows instead of one - this can likely be chalked up to focusing on a skill she’d have better gains in (since she has two bonuses in Swords to Reason’s one bonus) being responsible for the increase, but I can’t say for sure.
Tumblr media
This is the Set Goals option of the teaching mentioned above.  At the beginning, Linhardt’s current focus is Reason and Faith Focus, but the player in the trailer decides to swap Linhardt’s focus to Faith and Riding instead.  Given that Linhardt’s best skill is Faith, it’s not surprising, but I guess they want him to branch out into being a horseback mage later.  In the bottom-right of the screen, we see X can bring up the status screen, likely so one can see how well their focuses will work with their stats.
I’ve danced around discussing this beforehand, but Heavy Armor, Riding, and Flying are given growth ranks starting from E, like every other skill in the game.  While not fully surprising, as it’s likely to serve as a gateway for Nobles seeking to reclass into classes with those traits, it makes me wonder if there’s any particular benefit to leveling up those skills beyond that point.  As we know, the weapon ranks give us better weapons as we rank up, but will there be an equivalent for the others?  Or do the ranks act as gateways throughout, forcing us to to level from E to A/S to access, say, the Paladin class? It makes me wonder.
Returning back to focusing on the screenshot, one thing of note is one can possibly select to have only one focus at once, given that there’s a None option below Flying.  What sort of benefits one could achieve from choosing to focus on one skill instead of two is uncertain, given that it goes unexplored (my best guess is faster growth, but that’s just a guess), but it seems like it’s an option all the same.  Unsurprisingly, one can’t double down on the same focus (as the confirmation screen doesn’t pop up until after Linhardt selects Riding, despite Faith being double under the Custom Focus), so if you’re going to focus on one skill, guess one probably will have to use the None option.
Tumblr media
The English version unfortunately cuts away too early, but we see aftermath of it in the Japanese trailer.  There’s not much, but there’s a few things to glean from it.  For one, we can see that Linhardt doesn’t automatically gain a Blue arrow for Riding when it’s selected, despite it being his new Focus, meaning it’s not a Strength for him.  While understandable, given that this would help prevent abusing easier EXP gains, it likely means Strengths are set in stone (and so are the Red arrows, too) and branching out from that would take extra effort.  Second, when Linhardt’s custom focus is selected, it gains an E next to it (on the top left box), while the previous Reason and Faith focus is placed below, indicating that the Custom Focus is equipped.  This tells us that the students have preset Focuses (likely tailored to their Strengths, like Linhardt with Reason/Faith and Dorothea with Swords/Reason) and will probably keep them around as quick-select options.
Finally, I should make it clear that the Japanese and English builds are different, and while most of what they do is the same, their selections do result in notable differences .  For instance, in the Japanese trailer, the Tutor bar was at 2 the whole time, while in the English trailer, it was at 3 the whole time.  I bring this up because this number doesn’t change when the Goals are changed in the Japanese trailer.  This thankfully means tweaking a student’s Goals won’t interfere with your tutoring, so changing around your student’s focuses before tutoring them won’t eat up any of your allotted time.
Tumblr media
And Linhardt shows us that one aspect of Faith is healing, likely having replaced staves this time around.  He uses the spell heal to restore 11 HP to Byleth.  Fire Emblem has never been fully consistent with the calculations, generally using “Healer’s Magic +10″ in older games, “Healer’s Magic/2 +8″ in the Archanea remakes and Awakening, and “Healer’s Magic/3 +10″ in Fates.  This makes me believe they’re following FE11/12/Awakening’s formula for healing (or I hope so, otherwise Linhardt’s healing is trash), given how low the restored amount is.
Now, in theory, this is taking part after Linhardt’s goals have been switched to Faith and Riding, but obviously, Linhardt isn’t on a horse in this scene.  Most Fire Emblems haven’t had their healers dismount to heal their targets after combat, so I don’t think this is the situation either.  This leads me to believe that even if you decide to focus on a certain movement-altering skill, you still need to increase your Ranking before you can see it in action (I’d guess to E+ at the very least?).  Thankfully, I believe that this isn’t too major an issue in the game.  As you’ll recall under the bit during Petra’s gains, we see her make gains in both Swords and Authority after battle, and I said I’d discuss my theory on it later.  Here it is: I believe that units will gain EXP in their current focus regardless of whether or not they’re currently making use of said skill.  Of course, I can’t prove this, but I do hope this is the case because otherwise progression will take forever.
Tumblr media
Moving away from the teaching and its results, we cut to Caspar fighting a “Western Church Soldier,” wielding “Iron Gauntlets.”  Interestingly, when using these gauntlets, Caspar has a x2 next to his Mt, and deals two consecutive hits to the soldier before he can counterattack.  There is no indication he used any sort of Combat Arts, too, considering it generally shows above the unit’s name if one is active.  Therefore, it seems like it may be an innate feature of the gauntlets weapons is to attack twice consecutively a la Brave weapons.  I figure that as a trade-off, they’re weaker than most (consider that he’s dealing 7 damage per hit despite facing a not particularly powerful unit).  But what exactly the case with that is will be seen when we learn more, I suppose.
Tumblr media
The trailer then hops back over to the more scholarly side of things, where we see Edelgard preparing to take the Brigand Certification Exam.  This seems to be an equivalent of sorts to exiting a trainee class, which I believe we’ve established is likely what all of the students (and possibly Byleth, in a unique one of his own) start out in.  Given all the classes shown on the left side, it’s likely that all classes will be available to every student and rather they must be trained up in certain skills before one can access them.
On the right side, meanwhile, we get to see peek at what exactly these “exams” will contain.  Speaking of Exam Contents, there’s a ZL and ZR option to the left and right of where it says “Exam Contents.”  It mostly makes me wonder what the other screen(s) will show, I figure something like “Here’s how this class change will change this unit’s stats” but I can’t say for sure, but just make note of those buttons there.
We also see, below that, a basic blurb describing Brigands in the standard Fire Emblem style (like if you tap/highlight a unit’s class).  Lower down, we see ”Exam Skills” which notes Axe being C or higher - whether this is a requirement or recommendation isn’t fully clear, however.  That said, we do see we are required to have an Intermediate Seal - something we see is a prize when Ferdinand duels Sylvain, making it one known way to obtain these seals.
Finally, we can see a “Pass Rate,” which Edelgard has as 100% going in to this exam, meaning she’ll become a Brigand with no problem.  This makes me wonder: will these be binary rates, with either a 100% if you meet all the requirements and 0% if you don’t?  Or will there be a bit more variety, like having extra points in Axes, or even reaching B, guarantee better success than having just a C rank, thus making success semi-dependent on luck if going on unprepared?  Impossible to say, of course, but it’s definitely something I’d keep an eye on going forward.
Tumblr media
Of course, Edelgard passes and is promoted to Brigand.  This part progresses no further, so there’s no indication of what effects this will have on Edelgard as a unit beyond changing class and focusing more on axes, such as growths or class change stat influences.  We’ll probably see more as time goes on.
Tumblr media
We then cut to a scene of Ashe (who is likely from the Golden Deer) having a meal with a blond-haired girl (possibly from the Blue Lions, but unknown for sure) having a meal together.  The dialogue over the meal indicates it to be some kind of team-building, but whether this is meant as the equivalent of a Support Conversation, simply a means to help build supports, or is unrelated to supports and simply tied to building bonds for gambits.  Hopefully, we’ll learn more in the future.
Tumblr media
Now, we see the beginnings of a Gambit Boost in action, being a part of a Gambit led by Edelgard.  The Gambit is targeting a monster (identified as Black Beast) these units are nearby, with the particular targets being in front of Edelgard (with two arrows in front of Edelgard, interestingly).  We can also see Byleth with a glowing sword (which has been identified as the chain sword from the prior trailers), making it unclear when exactly in the game this is.  Interestingly, Byleth is the only one with a particularly unique-looking weapon, so it’s possible he’ll be getting one before the others (presuming Edelgard/Claude/Dimitri do as well).
Tumblr media
In the Japanese version, there’s a few differences in presentation, but the end result is still the same.  For one, Edelgard and Ferdinand are facing a bit to the right (compared to being front-facing in the English version), and the squares below and arrows above the Black Beast in the English version aren’t present.  Otherwise, however, they’re positioned in the exact same way as before.
Tumblr media
We then see the “Gambit Boost” activating, which involves Byleth, the black-haired guy from the Black Eagles we’ve seen a few times, Ferdinand, and Edelgard.  The four being in close proximity to each other and the Black Beast seems to be relevant to their performing the gambit, which raises the future question of how complex or simple the Gambit Boosts can be.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, in the Japanese version, there’s a few differences.  For one, Byleth and Ferdinand have swapped positions, but there isn’t any visible reason why.  Byleth and the black-haired guy have visibly different outfits, with Byleth being much more armored and the black-haired guy sporting red robes (Ferdinand’s outfit might be somewhat different, too, it’s difficult to tell) - which points towards most units being rather customizable, possibly even allowing Byleth to become an armored unit.
Tumblr media
Finally, we the (beginning?) of the Coordinated Gambit in action.  Edelgard twirls her axe, which is the indication for a bunch of “Assault Troop” soldiers to charge forward, hitting the Black Beast.  It possesses 14 Mt (likely using similar damage calculations as normal attacks), a 100% hit rate (does that mean that gambits have a chance of missing?), and 0 Crit (again raising a question, this time if gambits can cause critical hits).  The Black Beast, meanwhile, has absolutely no indication it can counter Edelgard despite her being right in front of it - perhaps this means Gambits can allow units a form of attack without putting themselves at risk.
Finally, despite being referred to as a “Coordinated Gambit,” there’s a significant lack of coordination being displayed here, especially after the whole big thing with the Gambit Boost before.  There’s a couple possible explanations for this, however.  One could be that their involvement could be the reason why Edelgard isn’t at risk of taking a counterattack.  The other option is that Edelgard is the first of a few gambits set to take place, and we only get to see the first because the trailer doesn’t want to spoil.  Whatever the reason, I’m sure the game will eventually make it clear.

You Probably Have Missing Data
Here’s a Guide on When to Care
Strategies to address missing data¹
At Indeed, our mission is to help people get jobs. Searching for a job can be stressful, which is one reason why Indeed is always looking for ways to make the process easier and our products better. Surveys provide us with an ongoing measure of people’s feelings about Indeed’s products and the job search experience.
We realize that when someone is looking for a job (or has just landed one), answering a survey is the last thing they want to do. This means that a lot of the survey data that Indeed collects ends up with missing data. To properly analyze user satisfaction and similar surveys, we need to account for potential missing patterns to ensure we draw correct conclusions.
I’d like to discuss identifying and handling missing data. I’m inspired by my training in the University of Michigan’s Program in Survey Methods. I’ve also wanted to apply the theories about data sets that I learned in academia to Indeed’s terabyte-sized data.
I recently worked on a project that dealt with missing data. I learned a lot from the analysis. Walking through this process can show how Indeed collects survey data, illustrate the difference between non-response rate and non-response bias, and provide examples of why “randomness” in non-response bias is a good thing.
One quick note: While the examples in this blog post reference Indeed, all data in this blog post are entirely bogus and made up by the author (aka me).
Measuring hires at Indeed
If you have ever canceled a job alert from Indeed, you might have seen this survey:
The purpose of this survey is to determine whether a job seeker is canceling their job alert because they found a job. This information helps us improve our products and enables us to celebrate the success stories of job seekers.
One challenge with this survey is that only a subset of job seekers completes it. From a user perspective this makes sense — people who unsubscribe from an email notification probably don’t want to spend time answering a survey. This means that we end up with a substantial amount of missing data, especially regarding a key question: did they unsubscribe because they got a job?
Non-response rate vs non-response bias
When discussing missing data, people often conflate response rate with non-response bias. When this misunderstanding of response rate is further conflated with the question of data quality, people might assume that a higher response rate means higher quality survey responses. This is not necessarily the case.
For the following job alert cancellation survey results, you’ll note that 13.8% did not respond.
Does a non-response rate of 13.8% say something about the quality of responses in the survey?
The short answer is no. While this might initially sound counterintuitive, stay with me! Imagine that Indeed revised the job alert cancellation survey to include a “prefer not to say” option.
Current Survey Revised Survey
After collecting data for a few weeks, we would then see that only 5.8% of job seekers didn’t respond to the revised survey.
Current Survey Revised Survey
Does this mean an increase in useful data? Before you start celebrating an 8% decrease in non-response, take a closer look at the response distribution. You’ll notice that a whopping 57% of job seekers selected “prefer not to say”!
Typically, we treat the response option of “prefer not to say” as missing data. We don’t know if job seekers selected “prefer not to say” because they are in the process of finalizing an offer, or for some other reason, such as concern that their current employer might find out they have a competing offer. If so, there is a potential for response bias.
Response bias refers to bias towards selecting a certain response (e.g., “prefer not to say’’) due to social desirability or another pressure. Non-response bias, also known as participation bias, refers to refusing to respond to the survey because of social desirability or another pressure.
The example above shows response bias, because respondents may have selected “prefer not to say” due to the sensitive nature of the question. If the respondents hadn’t completed the survey at all due to the nature of the survey, we would have non-response bias.
This illustrates that non-response rate alone (i.e., the percentage of people who responded to your survey) is not the sole indicator of data quality.
For example, if your most recent survey has a 61% response rate while past surveys had a response rate of 80–90%, there’s probably enough rationale to look into potential problems associated with non-response rate. However, if your recent survey has a 4% response rate and past surveys had a response rate of 3–5%, it’s unlikely that there’s a non-response issue with your specific survey. Instead, perhaps your team’s strategy in how surveys are sent (e.g., collecting survey data by landlines versus mobile phones) or how participants are identified for your study (e.g., using outdated and/or incorrect contact information) is leading to low response rates overall.
Whether you have a 3% or 61% response rate, response rate is not synonymous with low-response bias. As we saw with the revised survey, even when the response rate was high, over half of the respondents still selected “prefer not to say” — a response that isn’t usable for data analysis.
In addition to paying attention to the number of people who responded to your survey, you also need to check the distribution of the responses to each question in your survey. Simple and easy frequency statistics are a great way to notice oddities and potential biases in your data.
Missing at random vs missing not at random
Non-response bias can be summarized as whether the missing data are random or non-random. Each possibility has different implications for analysis.
Worst-case scenario: MNAR
The worst-case scenario for missing data is if it’s missing not at random (MNAR). In these cases, the missingness can be correlated with at least one variable and the missingness is likely due to the survey question being sensitive. This indicates potential problems with the survey design.
For example, let’s say we ran a chi-square test on the job alert cancellation survey to examine the relationship between survey response (no response vs. responded) and current employment status (employed vs. unemployed). We might see the following findings:
Observed Expected
The above findings show a statistically significant relationship between responding to the job alert cancellation survey and the job seeker’s current employment status. This gives us a test statistic and p-value of 𝚾²(1) = 9.70 and p = 0.0018, respectively. Thus, significantly more unemployed job seekers responded to the job alert cancellation survey than would be expected at random.
This is an example of “missing not at random” because the survey question itself might have influenced how people chose to respond. Job seekers who are currently unemployed might be more inclined to respond to the job alert cancellation survey, because finding a job after a period of joblessness is a huge deal.
Best-case scenario: MAR
The best-case scenario for missing data is if it’s missing at random (MAR). In these cases, missingness can be correlated with at least one variable, and the missingness is not due to the survey question itself.
You might be thinking that I’m intentionally using jargon to confuse you…and I am! Just kidding, MNAR and MAR are commonly used among survey methodologists when discussing missing data. MNAR and MAR live in the same world of jargon as Type 1 and Type 2 error and mediation and moderation.
For example, let’s imagine that we ran a chi-square test on the job alert cancellation survey results to examine the relationship between survey response (no response vs. responded) and the job seeker’s device type (desktop vs. mobile). This gives us a test statistic and p-value of X²(1) = 75.57 and p < .0001, respectively. We might see the following findings:
Observed Expected
The above findings show a statistically significant relationship between job seekers responding to the job alert cancellation survey and those job seekers’ devices. Significantly fewer job seekers on desktop computers responded to the job alert cancellation survey than expected.
However, we might also know from previous experience that more job seekers search for jobs on mobile devices than desktops. In that case, the missingness is likely attributable to device popularity and not to the survey question itself.
Additional scenarios for missing data
Additional scenarios for missing data include cases where the data are missing completely at random, and cases where the data are missing by design.
Missing completely at random (MCAR) refers to cases where the missingness is uncorrelated with all other variables. This type of missingness is typically impossible to validate for large and complex data sets like those found in web analytics. With large data sets, especially rapidly growing ones, the chance of finding some spurious but significant correlation is almost 100%.
Missing by design refers to cases where the missingness is intentional. For example, imagine a product change where job seekers are only presented with the job alert cancellation survey if they applied for a job on Indeed in the past 30 days. In this scenario, job seekers who haven’t applied for jobs in the past 30 days will never see the survey. Data will thus be missing by design based on the number of applies.
The challenge of addressing missing data
A core challenge of missing data is determining if it’s missing due to randomness, and if so, then which type of randomness  — MNAR or MAR. While it’s fairly easy to check for significant differences in the distribution of missing data, a p-value and confidence interval will not tell you why the data is missing.
Determining whether data are MNAR or MAR is a daunting task and relies heavily on assumptions. In the MAR example above, we assumed that the missingness was because users were more inclined to use the mobile version of Indeed than the desktop version. However, we only know this pattern exists because we’ve talked with people who noticed similar patterns in users preferring mobile over desktop. Without that knowledge we could very easily have misinterpreted the pattern.
Thankfully, there are strategies you can use to diagnose whether your data are MAR or MNAR.
To start, you can ask yourself:
Does the question ask people to reveal sensitive or socially undesirable behavior?”
If it does, be aware that asking people to reveal sensitive information is more likely to cause your data to be MNAR rather than MAR. It might be possible to reduce the impact of such survey design by reassuring confidentiality and using other strategies to gain the trust of respondents.
If the question does not ask people to reveal sensitive information but you’re still concerned the missing data might be MNAR (the bad one), you can try other strategies. If you have longitudinal data from the respondents, you can check whether the non-response pattern you observe is consistent with previous responses at other time points. If the pattern replicates, you can at least say that your observations are not unusual.
Of course, just because the non-response pattern replicates doesn’t mean you’re in the clear for declaring your data are MNAR and not MAR. If, for example, you’re asking people to report socially undesirable behavior, you’d likely see the same MNAR pattern over time.
If you don’t have access to longitudinal data, a second solution is to talk with people in your team/organization or look at papers from related research to see if anyone else has observed similar patterns of non-response. Another Research 2.0 solution might be to crowdsource via reaching out to colleagues on Slack and other social media. There you might discover if the non-response pattern you’re observing is typical or atypical.
This relatively simple yes/no logic isn’t perfect, but using the strategies above is still better than a head-in-the-sand “missing data never matters” approach.
Missing data isn’t always the end of the world
Not all missing data is inherently tied to response bias. It can be missing by design, missing completely at random (MCAR), missing not at random (MNAR), or missing at random (MAR). In the job alert cancellation survey, we saw how the survey design might lead to different scenarios of missingness.
Are you a data scientist or data aficionado who is also a critical thinker? If so, remember to take a deep dive into your missing data.

Given Unsought, Part 3
Jemma came back from Maveth with a little something in tow. She and Daisy attempt to deal. Part 1, 2
A/N: hey, all! Welcome to part 3! Daisy and Jemma have a heart to heart about consequences of Jemma’s choices, and a little trio bonding over horror movies is had. This is the last part of the first trimester, which according to the websites is when all the morning sickness typically happens. Canon-compliant warnings apply. Rated PG-13, 3912 words.
Week Ten
Part and parcel of surviving life in the Playground, with their rooms stacked like Legos and the walls thinner than the shell around Hunter’s masculinity, meant developing a knack for finding spots to be alone, and for avoiding others who wanted to do the same. As Mack put it, sometimes quality alone time at SHIELD meant pretending not to see the other fifteen agents brooding in the room with you.
Daisy had her spots. The lounge on sublevel C that smelled like old man and shoe polish. The mess hall on Tuesday afternoons. Fitz and Simmons’ lab when they had assays to be run downstairs. And as a courtesy, she left others alone to brood—with the exception of Fitz.  She needed a scapegoat to make her watch those horror movies that would invariably keep her awake, and whatever, Fitz brooded way too much anyway. She left Hunter to his sulks, Bobbi to her pensive reverie, and Mack to his philosophical musings. If May’d had a brooding spot before she left, well, Daisy had never found it, but no way would Daisy have ever disturbed her. There was a woman who believed in “me time,” and Daisy could respect that.
But now Daisy broke all her rules and picked her way through the hydraulic supports for the hangar doors, careful not to step anywhere that would make Mack sigh at her. She had two brown bottles dangling from her left hand and a determined look in place.
“Hey,” she said.
Jemma, who’d been staring at her feet rather than the clear skies overhead, looked up swiftly. A smile appeared. “Daisy. You found me.”
“Should’ve disabled the cameras if you were gonna give the warden the slip. Here.” Daisy held out one of the bottles. “Got you the closest thing to beer you can have.”
“Just because it has the word ‘beer’ on the label does not actually make it similar, I must point out.”
Daisy took a seat, grimacing as the cold immediately ate through her jeans. She could see a comm unit, no doubt “borrowed,” resting by Jemma’s knee, which would warn her of any incoming or outgoing quinjets and allow her time to get out of the way of the doors. But apart from that, it was a peaceful spot for quiet reflection. Nobody would think to look atop the Playground, and it held a really pretty view of the stars. The November wind was particularly cutting tonight. Daisy wished she’d grabbed cocoa instead of root beer, even if it would’ve made climbing more difficult.
Carbonation hissed as she cracked open her bottle of root beer. She tapped it against Jemma’s. “Feels like all those times we used to sneak Ward’s beers on the Bus.”
“Mm-hmm. He hated that.”
“Good.”
Jemma traced her finger along the edge of the bottle label. “You could’ve brought a beer for yourself. There’s no need to abstain simply because I am.”
“Drinking beer when you can’t is cruel, Simmons.” Though she would have preferred it. The root beer was too sweet, cloying and sticky and cold. “Solidarity, sister.”
“I notice this noble sacrifice doesn’t extend as far as your morning coffee.” Jemma bumped her shoulder against Daisy’s, smirking.
Daisy grinned back at her. “It’s better for everyone if I don’t give up my morning coffee. Morale plummets, things get shaky, you know.”
“You could try going to bed at a reasonable hour.”
“Too sensible. Coffee’s easier and bonus, it doesn’t judge me for my sleep cycles.”
“Fair.” Jemma sighed. “I dreamed about coffee in the other dimension.”
Daisy raised her eyebrows.
Fond exasperation laced a second sigh from Jemma. “Very well. I’ll confess: I dreamed about tea. Brewed in a proper, actual kettle—”
“Someday you’ll have to tell me about the microwave that hurt you, to make you hate them so much.”
“—at just the right temperature, and steeped to absolute perfection. A dollop of milk. The taste, the warmth. The caffeine.” Jemma rested her head back, her eyes closed like she was dreaming of it then, too. “After hugging Fitz, and you, and Coulson, and everybody, it was going to be the first thing I did. Brew myself a proper cuppa and drink it at the window, basking in proper sunlight.”
Daisy’s lips curled up. She’d seen Jemma do exactly that on countless mornings on the Bus. “Sounds like a good dream.”
“It was. I’ve had every part of it but the caffeine now.” Jemma set the root beer aside without drinking any. She let out a long breath and rubbed her hands down her thighs. “I’m ten weeks along.”
“Congratulations,” Daisy said slowly, suspecting this might be why Jemma had come up to the roof in the first place.
Jemma surprised her by leaning over and resting her head on Daisy’s shoulder, not saying a thing. She rarely initiated contact first, and it was usually only a hand pat or a hug. But it felt like a storm might be brewing deep inside, and all of the words kept quiet in the past four weeks might come spilling out. She’d been back a month and the only person she’d really talked to, it seemed, was Dr. Garner. With May and Hunter still gone, Jemma quiet, Coulson obsessed with Rosalind Price, and Fitz buried in portal calculations, it had been a very odd and disconnected time for Daisy. She wrapped an arm around Jemma.
“Is ten weeks significant?” she asked. “Confession: I haven’t read the books yet. I mean, I started, but maybe Bobbi had a point about me never reading.”
“It’s near the end of the first trimester. The books cautioned about waiting to tell others until after the ten-week mark had passed,” Jemma said, her voice dull. “Well, ten to twelve weeks. The chances of a miscarriage decrease significantly then. So it’s prudent to wait just in case it didn’t take. To avoid awkwardness and painful reminders.”
“Did you even want kids?” Daisy asked, as she’d never really had that sort of conversation with anybody on the team. Growing up in the system, kids were such a weird subject. She liked them, and babies were cute, but the whole motherhood thing felt strange and ill-fitting to her. Possibly because she’d been taken from her own mother, and the woman had turned out to be kind of a vampire.
It was bound to leave a mark.
“Someday, I did,” Jemma said. “In the distant future. I’m a scientist, with plans. I have goals. I’m not—I’m not careless. There was supposed to be a proper order. I’d meet someone, fall in love, an acceptable amount of time would pass, they would propose or I would, and then a wedding, time to be married as adults enjoying each other. I’d be running a proper lab, by then, and writing groundbreaking papers in my field. Then, and only then, children.”
“Equal-opportunity proposals? Very forward of you.”
“I’m a strong woman, Daisy, I know my own mind.”
“It’s one of my favorite things about you,” Daisy said, letting out a laugh without meaning to. Jemma wrinkled her nose at her. “I’m a little bit in awe of you for even having a plan. I can’t even figure out what I’m having for breakfast when I wake up in the morning.”
“You’ve got other admirable qualities.” Jemma’s voice grew quiet and impossibly small. “It wasn’t supposed to happen this way.”
“You have options, you know. Whatever you choose to do, I’ve got your back. And nobody will judge you, whatever choice you make.” Daisy took a sip of her root beer, which definitely hadn’t improved. She added, “Unless you name him Alistair. Then I’ll judge.”
“Hey! I have an uncle named Alistair and I’ll have you know he’s a lovely man.”
“Them’s the breaks,” Daisy said.
“Oh, Daisy.” Jemma shook her head, finally lifting it off of Daisy’s shoulder. She didn’t pull away, so Daisy could feel the tension rippling up her shoulders. “I don’t think I want to…not what you’re suggesting. What if Will never makes it back and this baby is all that’s left of him?”
“And what if he does come back and he wants nothing to do with it? You’re the one here and now, you have to make the choice that’s right for you and that’s right for this baby. I saw so many kids that their parents didn’t care, or didn’t take them into account and they ended up in those homes, just like me.” The words came tumbling out before Daisy could stop them. She swallowed hard and shut up, mostly because if she kept talking, she suspected her voice might break.
Jemma grabbed her hand. “It wouldn’t be like that, ever, if I have this child. I wouldn’t be doing that out of a sense of obligation, and I wouldn’t leave the child without backups in place.”
“Right. You’re right. Sorry for even suggesting—”
“No, Daisy, no, you’re completely in the right.” Jemma grabbed her hand. “It’s a sore subject, I have to figure.”
“A little.” Daisy’s laugh was humorless. “And in the end, it turns out that I’m one of the rare cases. My parents did want me. But…is it too flippant to say ‘shit happens?’”
“Sore subject,” Jemma said again. “I don’t know if I want—actually, no. What I mean to say is that it doesn’t feel real, even though I’ve seen the tests. But now ten weeks have passed and I have to make choices. I was hoping it would feel real by now.”
“Choices?”
“I’ll need to decide my future with SHIELD. Less fieldwork, obviously, and I’ll need to reduce my working hours dramatically. I don’t think Agent Coulson would approve a crèche, not with how dangerous things get in the Playground, so naturally I’ll need to look into that eventually.”
Daisy made a mental note to look up what a crèche was.
“Bobbi will need to step up and take over more of my responsibilities in the field.” Jemma was fully rambling now, lost in her own thoughts. She tilted her head. “And of course I’ll need to prepare Fitz so he accepts that, and my moving out of the Playground.”
“Wouldn’t he just go with you?” Daisy asked, baffled.
Jemma frowned. “Why would he—oh! We’re not together. We went—he took me to a restaurant right after I came back, and it was…” She blew out a breath. “It was a bloody disaster, honestly.”
The correct and friendly response would be to offer sympathy. Daisy felt more like dancing, and had absolutely no idea why. “That sucks. I was pulling for you two.”
“I think we both were, but I need him as my friend. Navigating coming back from another dimension whilst pregnant, on top of a romantic relationship that could ruin everything? Can you imagine the stress?”
“Right,” Daisy said. Strangely, she no longer felt like dancing. “Going from friends to being together while dealing with all of that, it’d be a nightmare.”
“Thank you for seeing it right away. It took me forever to persuade Fitz.” Jemma sagged a little. “And I’ll have to tell my parents. The easiest lie might be that Will was a fling of some sort. Just in case…”
“We’re going to get him back.”
“As ever, I appreciate your optimism, but in this case, I must be pragmatic. Even if we get him back…he was somebody who was there, you know? I don’t know how a relationship in the real world would work, or if I even want that. So, a fling it is.”
“How’re the elder Simmonses going to react? Are they super traditional about this sort of thing?”
“I expect Dad would have preferred that I get married and the like first, but Mum’s somewhat of a free spirit.”
Daisy twisted suddenly, giving her friend a wide-eyed look. “Free spirit? Simmons, is your mother a hippie?”
“She may have taken part in protests and marches.” Jemma straightened up primly.
Daisy laughed and finished her root beer. “Go Mama Simmons.”
“She’ll be very pleased, no doubt, to have your approval. I’m grateful that Coulson never told them I was missing, as that might’ve invoked more questions that I’m willing to answer.” Jemma glanced over when Daisy gave her a confused look. “They think I took a lab job when SHIELD fell. Fitz, too. They have no idea about what we do, and I’ve no desire to tell them. Adding a baby to that mix? It’s something of a nightmare. In addition, once I tell them I’m pregnant, it really is real.”
Daisy looked down at Jemma’s midsection. “Hate to be the one to tell you this, but it’s real,” she said.
“I know.” Jemma sighed and rested her elbows on her knees, staring up at the sky and falling silent.
Daisy would have been content to sit beside her all night and let her have her quiet reflection, but: “Simmons?”
“Yes?”
“I lost all feeling in my ass, like, twenty minutes ago. It’s cold. Let’s go inside.”
Jemma laughed. “Yes. Let’s.” She collected the neglected soda bottle and comms unit and climbed to her feet, holding out her hand. Daisy wasn’t sure why she didn’t let go as they made their way back across the hangar roof to the stairs. But she definitely didn’t mind.
Week Eleven
“Why are men so frustrating?” Daisy asked as Mack lowered the quinjet ramp. “Is it, like, a thing that you learn in the womb? Is there a secret man school where you take lessons? Is it sponsored by Axe body spray?”
“I don’t know, but yes it’s probably a thing like that, there’s no school, we might take lessons—I’ll never tell, and no, we prefer to smell better than that.” Mack wheeled a flat of boxes down the ramp, parking it out of major hangar traffic. He walked past her, back onto the jet. “Let me take a wild stab in the dark here—someone’s having man troubles.”
“What gave it away?” Daisy climbed aboard the quinjet to help him unload the cargo.
“Lincoln again?”
“The ATCU almost caught up to him. In getting away, he fried the power grid for a small city near Augusta.”
“Maine or Georgia? Never mind, not important,” Mack said, catching Daisy’s expression.
“The more property damage he does, the harder it is to convince the ATCU to bring him in peacefully.” Daisy held up a bag. “This is a lot of potatoes.”
“Bobbi’s a fan. Lincoln will come in when he’s good and ready. He’ll learn there are people he can trust here.”
Daisy wasn’t so sure. The longer Lincoln remained on the run felt like a personal slight, even though she knew it had nothing to do with her. Coming from Afterlife, he’d been skeptical of SHIELD from the start. And he wasn’t wrong to be—Coulson had pretty much sold him out to the ATCU. But he couldn’t just kiss her and decide she wasn’t capable of handling all this weird shit.
“I guess I’m just a little upset because I was kind of hoping this whole thing would’ve passed by now. And if he comes in now, he gets stuffing and turkey.” Daisy grabbed the last box to carry down and load onto the flat, trailing behind Mack. She’d really hoped Lincoln would be done with this fugitive thing by now. Having him there with her team on Thanksgiving would have been amazing.
But no, the world continued to be stupid.
She helped Mack transport all of the food for the feast to the kitchens for the staff to whip into shape under the direction of Coulson, who’d made the holiday his personal mission this year for some reason. Afterward, she spent a couple hours trying to break through ATCU firewalls—unsuccessfully—until a text from Fitz arrived. Daisy glanced over the message once and immediately set her laptop to the side, heading for the den.
“Mack says you’ve been asking about why men are terrible again,” Fitz said when Daisy dropped onto the couch next to him. He held out the bowl of popcorn as an offering.
“You, Coulson, and him, you’re all excluded from that.”
“Good. Wouldn’t want you to think I’m terrible.”
“Never.” Daisy rested her head on his shoulder, which she knew he hated—or pretended to hate. Sometimes she and Jemma messed with him by using excessive amounts of affection, and he’d bat at them irritably. It was such a high school thing to do, but it wasn’t like any of them had had a normal experience there. They had to make up for lost time. “What’s on the cinematic menu tonight?”
“Even though it’s a Wednesday and not our typical Saturday?” Fitz stressed, as he generally liked to gripe about Thanksgiving being on a Thursday. “We’re now considered off-duty, so we’ll be doing a double showing. Funny Face and Duck Soup.”
“What? Those aren’t horror movies.”
“Jemma’s joining us as soon as she’s off the phone with her parents.”
“After everything we’ve lived through, horror movies can’t be that scary for her. She should be able to deal! C’mon. Something with a lot of blood and some quality creepiness. You know you want to.”
Fitz definitely did look tempted. After a moment, he nodded but he gave her a sideways glance. “Fine by me, but it’s your bed she’s crawling into when she can’t sleep later, not mine. I’m locking my door. She’s a cover hog and maintenance still hasn’t fixed that draft in my room.”
“Acceptable losses,” Daisy said, sitting up. “Play the scary movie, Fitz.”
She’d already jumped three times—and had gotten into two arguments with Fitz about the plausibility of torture scenes—before she heard Jemma’s footsteps. Jemma tiptoed in, made a face as the viscera onscreen, and settled herself between them, collecting the popcorn bowl from Fitz. “You two are going to give yourselves nightmares,” she said.
“I’m not scared,” Fitz and Daisy said in unison, and Jemma shook her head at them.
As much as it delivered on the creepy front, the movie wasn’t one of their better selections, even though it made the three of them jump. When Fitz let out an involuntary “no!” at the main lady being menaced, Daisy and Jemma teased him mercilessly. He tried to return the favor, picking on them about drooling over the main dude in a shirtless scene, but Daisy and Jemma merely giggled.
“You two are the worst,” Fitz said in disgust, stealing the popcorn bowl from Jemma. “Should be ashamed of yourselves, you should, ogling him like a piece of meat. Of manflesh!”
“Clearly he takes the time to work out, and we’re…appreciating his hard work, aren’t we, Simmons?”
“It’s only right to acknowledge it, Fitz,” Jemma said, giving him a gigantic smile. “He works so hard.”
Fitz took a giant handful of popcorn and muttered something about bad influences. Daisy threw a kernel at him and pointed innocently at Jemma when he whipped about in indignation.
Hot men or not, though, the plot grew a little predictable for her and the jump scares became passé. Fitz continued to absently shovel popcorn into his mouth, absorbed in the film, but Daisy noticed that Jemma had begun to stare off into space, mind clearly somewhere else.
Daisy nudged her shoulder and gave her a questioning look. “What’s going on?”
“I told my mum and dad,” Jemma whispered, leaning away from Fitz.
“How’d they take it?”
“Shocked, I think. But happy for me. I pretended I was happy about it, for their sake.”
“Yikes,” Daisy said, as that sentence left a lot to unpack.
“It’s fine,” Jemma said. She forced a smile, leaning even closer to Daisy so that she was whispering directly in her ear. “They asked if it was Fitz’s. That was a bit awkward.”
“A bit?” Daisy asked a little too loudly, and Jemma shushed her. Daisy wrinkled her nose back at her and dropped back to the whisper. “Bet you feel better now that you told them, though.”
Jemma frowned, looking upward as she gave the matter some thought. “You’re right. I do feel better.”
“I always feel loads better when I break down and tell Coulson whatever I’ve been keeping from him. Last week, I—”
“I’m sorry, am I interrupting gossip night? I thought this was movie night,” Fitz said.
“Sorry, Fitz,” Jemma said.
“Yeah, sorry,” Daisy added.
On screen, the killer swung his machete. Entrails flew everywhere, inspiring Jemma to gasp “Oh good lord!” and hide her face in Daisy’s shoulder.
“Now that’s properly gruesome!” Fitz said, his eyes lighting up.
“You okay there, Simmons?” Daisy asked.
She didn’t move. “Let me know when it’s over.”
“The gross part? That’s over.”
“No, the movie. The whole thing.”
Daisy laughed and shifted to get more comfortable and to make it easier for Jemma to hide her face. From the squeaking sounds occasionally emerging from under her arm, she figured Jemma had to be peeking. They stayed that way for the rest of the movie, Fitz occasionally shushing them whenever they whispered to each other.
When the credits rolled, and the main character had successfully vanquished the killer at the cost of all of her friends’ lives, Daisy carefully sat up and extricated her arm from beneath Jemma. She tried to be nonchalant about getting the feeling to return.
“Can’t we watch a comedy?” Jemma asked, blinking owlishly as she sat up. “Ooh, a romantic comedy. Something with dancing.”
“Nothing black and white,” Daisy said.
“No Cary Grant,” Fitz said at the same time. He thought about it. “And no cats.”
After a good deal of bickering, mostly from Fitz, they found a movie in the archives that met all of their criteria. Fitz relinquished the popcorn and laid down on his part of the couch, resting his head in Jemma’s lap. He didn’t even complain when Daisy scrunched her fingers through his curls. The movie, however, did not get such consideration. “I’ve always wondered how everybody automatically knows the words to these songs,” he said as Gene Kelly and Donald O’Connor tapped their way through an elocution lesson.
“Oh, Fitz. It’s make-believe.”
“That doesn’t make me any less curious. Make-believe or not, it should be based on reality, shouldn’t it? You don’t see Daisy bursting into song randomly, with—with Coulson joining in!”
“No, but I would pay good money to,” Daisy said.
“I took two years of tap-dancing lessons as a kid,” Coulson said, making all three of them jump as he crossed behind the couch to collect a beer from the fridge. He settled on one of the overstuffed chairs and pointed his beer at the tap-dancing on screen. “I was not up to this level, however.”
“Maybe you should practice,” Daisy said. “I’ve heard dancing’s a good way to keep in shape for older people.”
Coulson smiled benignly at her. “I’ll take that under advisement.”
Boy was she going to pay for that crack later, Daisy could tell. But it was worth it, for the way she could feel Jemma giggling next to her. As the movie played on, other members of various teams drifted in and grabbed beers and snacks, settling on comfortable surfaces to watch Don Lockwood and Kathy Seldon fall in love.
It was, Daisy decided, a pretty good start to what was rapidly becoming her favorite holiday.

I noticed in most playthroughs I have been watching throughout the week , people were struggling to even clear the first phase of the mission due to how skilled the enemy is and the odd behavior of the missiles back in 0.2.9. Naturally I don’t want to make missions impossible or hard for most people. So a lot of things has been re-balanced to make the game less frustrating for newer players. Ideally through this “Clear Skies” level I’m currently trying to find what the “standard” difficulty is for the game.
Now that the first phase of the mission is easier and the missiles have been buffed in general(more on that below). The second phase of the mission has also been amped up in difficulty. Though I may have gone overboard on this so that was addressed in the small update below.
That being said, I’m sure there are people who liked the old difficulty back in terms of how the AI fought. Don’t worry those guys will be coming back in the future as a difficulty option.
(Thanks for recording gameplay footage guys!)
Missile Accuracy
Tumblr media
Missile behavior has certainly been odd, especially how the STDM kept missing the easiest shots and hit low probability shots which made them rather inconsistent.
So now, missiles should be much more consistent than before and feel snappier in general. Though do keep in mind this goes across to all missiles so enemy missiles are also slightly more accurate. However to balance out the new guidance system, the maximum velocity the missiles can get to has been doubled. Which should counter out the missiles precise guidance system. I think currently it has achieved a nice balance though there are some cases on which the missile guidance will need more work towards.
SP Module Framework + Flares
Tumblr media
This is a new gameplay element I have been toying around with and currently experimenting. I’m mostly exposing it early due to the overwhelming amounts of requests for flares. I suppose why not.
At the moment the only function that is currently available is the “FLARE” module and is not interchangeable. At the moment it has a 7 second cooldown and causes all missiles currently targeting the player to lose tracking.
The idea is to eventually expand these modules to bring in different attributes to equip your aircraft with and . I’ve some ideas on what to bring in for this SP module mechanic and hopefully you’ll see it implemented in the next major update.
New UI Rendering
Tumblr media
UI rendering has been significantly changed. Now they are a lot clearer and the majority of the immersive UI elements are now affected by post processing.
Hopefully this means that important UI elements such as target indicators and main HUD elements in the cockpit will no longer be obstructed and blend in with the background. This also means that the HUD in the cockpit is slightly more accurate because now they are in world space and not screen space anymore.
Let me know if you like it!
New Settings Options
New options has been added and a couple of settings has been altered for technical reasons.
Cloud Resolution Settings
Cloud resolution settings has been altered. Now instead of having 64,128,256,512 as the resolution options. it’s now 128,256,512,768.
I’ve noticed that on 512 resolution that distant clouds could appear somewhat pixelated on a lower FOV settings. This was the recommended settings given to me from the TrueSKY documentation. However seeing that people are getting fairly decent frame rate on max settings on the old setup, I’ve decided to bump it up to 768. It eliminates most of the pixelation that occurs at a long distance without a lot of performance drop off.
The difference between 768 and 1024 was quite negligible so I’ve decided to not have it on 1024 due to performance reasons.
Subtitle Placement
I’ve received a few requests on subtitle placement. I’ve added the option to have the subtitle placed on top.
Let me know if there’s an issue with the subtitles with weird aspect ratios.
Minimalist HUD
I’ll admit leaving the minimalist HUD in a default checked was ab it of a mistake in 0.2.9. The radar vanished on both nose cam and cockpit cam making it difficult for people to figure out the radar if they don’t go check into the options screen. So for now, the minimalist HUD will include the minimap.
I will however introduce a minimapless option for the cockpit screen in the future.
Controls settings
There’s not much to be written here. But resetting the controls back to default is now functional and bugs related to mouse bindings and other things has now been fixed.
Map Update
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The landscape has been significantly altered for “Clear Skies”. I didn’t feel like the plateaus in the previous version really represented the region I wanted to make so I’ve decided to put that kind of environment in the backburner for now and save it for later.
Headtracking (Experimental)
I’ve added a headtracking option in the gameplay options section. It’s still highly experimental and at the moment only supports the FreeTrack protocol.
If you have a freetrack IR setup please let me know how it goes. Thanks!
I will try to contact the TrackIR folks in the coming days to see if I can grab an SDK off them and implement TrackIR support to Project Wingman. Stay tuned!
Targeting algorithm Change
When changing target it now prioritizes targets in front of you and then if there are no targets in front of you, it now looks for the closest target within the vicinity. The radius of whats in “front” of you has now been severely narrowed. I’ll have to see how this goes in the future.
It still needs more work but I hope this change makes the targeting easier to use.
Balance Changes
A lot of gameplay values have been changed for the game.
SAA and MLAA now take longer to reload.
Default STDM count has been increased.
SAA and MLAA count has been decreased for every slot.
Added IA-52′s during the third wave of the first phase.
Reduced the skill of the enemy during the first phase.
Increased fighting ability of the enemy in the second phase.
Doubled the missile maximum speed. Acceleration is still the same as before though.
Increased maneuverability of the SU-27.
Increased Acceleration and Deceleration of the SU-27.
VERSION 0.2.10b
I’ve decided to combine both 0.2.10 and the b version blogpost due to how close i’m releasing them.
Second Phase (QF) Encounter
The enemies in the second phase of the mission has been slightly nerfed due to how difficult people have been finding it. Will be reintroduced in the future as a difficulty option.
Targeting algorithm Change
I’ve increased the radius of what the game will think of what is in front of the camera. So now targeting should feel much more consistent across the board.
Stalling behavior
Just a small fix I’m putting out for the stalling behavior. I’ve noticed that the plane always stalls constantly if there is no throttle or brake being applied. This was not intended and has been fixed.
Fixes
Fixed nose cam issue where it doesn’t lerp the camera anymore.
Miscellaneous stuff
Some stuff that Project Wingman has been featured in. I also did an interview in some of them :)

I’m currently working towards the final alpha/demo milestone for Project Wingman in preparation for a Greenlight and Kickstarter campaign. Hopefully it can represent what we’re currently working towards.
I will try to increase the frequency of development related posts now. And hopefully from now on I can release semi regular patch fixes and updates to Project Wingman.
Anyway, that’s it for now. If you’ve reached here through that wall of text I thank you very much for your attention. Hopefully I can continue to deliver on your expectations with Project Wingman.

Questions and Answers
As usual, I’ll try answering them as best as I can.
Thanks!
Tumblr media
The other planes is simply not ready and I didn’t want to showcase it in this demo because it would feel incomplete compared to the rest of the game.
Hopefully I can bring some of them back in a reasonable amount of time.
(Mind you i’m operating on borderline valve time)
Tumblr media
It’s been addressed in 0.2.10! Please check it out and let me know what you think of it! :)
Tumblr media
Will do, I’ll see what i can do in the future :)
Tumblr media
Yes! This is going to be completely reworked and will be the second and final scenario for Project Wingman Alpha.
I can’t say when it’ll be released again but I’ll make sure to make a big deal out of it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hey, try updating your drivers if you haven’t already. There is an issue with old drivers if you haven’t updated it.
Feel free to contact me over at [email protected] or DM me in tumblr if you want further troubleshooting help.
Tumblr media
Thank you!
Tumblr media
Trust me, you don’t want to see the spaghetti on this thing.
Tumblr media
Yeah, new difficulty options and enemies that are even better than current enemies are currently planned. They’ve been nerfed for this latest demo but it’s because I’m currently trying to balance it for the regular difficulty. Stay tuned for difficulty options!
Tumblr media
You can count on that!
SOON
Tumblr media
At the moment it’s Km/h.
I’ll be adding Imperial options eventually.
Tumblr media
No plans for console release right now.
Tumblr media
Hey there, Starting from 0.2.10 there is a dedicated flare button.
Let me know how it goes.
Tumblr media
Hey there, This has been fixed in version 0.2.10. Let me know how it goes!
Tumblr media
I did, and I’ve changed it again 0.2.10b. Please let me know if it fixed your issue.
Tumblr media
Yup, this was a bug. It’s fixed in version 0.2.10b.

OK, so there is so much that needs to be pointed out in this case. Buckle up, because this is going to be a long post. I’m going to take you on a short tour of what the deal is with locum doctor shifts and how the whole thing is often misinterpreted by the media and their dramatic articles, resulting in misunderstandings by the public at large. Firstly, where did the figure of £155/hr come from? What grade of doctor was this? And what were the circumstances surrounding the appointment? How understaffed was that department? How short notice was the job on offer? These things all matter when it comes to a fair price for a shift you aren’t obligated to do. The money offered depends a lot on which hospital you are at, or how desperate the situation is, but it is hard to accept uncited figures at face value. We know absolutely nothing about where that figure comes from. I haven’t met (or heard of) people at SHO or even registrar level getting anywhere near that much per hour, nor has anyone mentioned being paid at that level on the junior doctor group. Consultants, possibly. But if you are an experienced and fully trained consultant taking ultimate legal responsibility for many sick patients, at short notice, in a hospital you don’t usually work, around your already busy life, then that what you are paid would (and should) reflect that.
What do locums do? They take on short-term work. Mostly, this is on a shift-by-shift basis, but occasionally they might need to cover a run of shifts due to employees being on sick leave, or an unfilled slot on the on-call rota. They may sometimes locum in hospitals they’ve worked, but this doesn’t have to be the case. So locums will often be working in a new hospital, where they don’t know where everything is, or how the wards are laid out. This includes things like finding important equipment, knowing where the notes are, and navigating their way around the hospital during their on-call. They won’t know the important bleep/contact numbers of people they will need to contact (though they’ll get a hold of them sharpish from switchboard) They usually don’t know anyone there, so they won’t have the working relationship with other staff that makes working somewhere and getting stuff done a bit easier. They don’t know their local guidelines or procedures, which forms to use, or where all those things are even kept. It’s like the horrible few days at the start of your rotations, except they might go through this almost every shift. This is why it’s riskier to work locum shifts; it’s more stressful and as you don’t know how everything works, it might take longer. It is widely thought to be riskier professionally, too. It is NOT an easy way out.
Do the people complaining actually care about doctors, though? I’m also sick of people who actually don’t give a hoot about doctors arguing on my behalf. I’m a salaried NHS doctor; the kind you argue that locum pay isn’t fair to. I picked a trust grade job knowing full well I could locum in a severely undersubscribed specialty and earn tens of thousands more than I’m earning now. By all accounts I should be livid that somebody occasionally works the same shift I do for a lot more money.
But I don’t resent locums for earning more. Why? Because I don;t just work in the system, I live in it. I’ve worked severely understaffed shifts. Shifts where we just couldn’t get a locum, sometimes because of the price offered, and sometimes just because it’s hard to get someone to give up precious time at the last minute. I’ve also been begged to put in extra time or change my shifts at very short notice, to cover dangerous staff shortages. I’ve only ever put in extra shifts when begged to by my department; my spare time is precious enough as it is. It is not the fault of locums that hospitals are understaffed and there is high turnover and poor morale in many places.  Medicine and nursing are becoming increasingly leaky pipelines; as pressure increases and the NHS becomes an ever more understaffed, stressful environment to work in, less and less people will want to stay. Putting even more strain on those who remain.
Who are the locum doctors? Most locum shifts are filled by people already in jobs, a fact quietly acknowledged in the above article (but rather buried amongst all the ignorance). Part time doctors aren’t allowed to do locum shifts, probably because they fear that everyone might go part time if they didn’t make it financially very limiting to do so.  This means that quite a few doctors who already have full-time jobs do the odd extra shift, on a day off or during their annual leave. There are some doctors (or nurses) who have left full-time training altogether and just do locum jobs, however even this is not usually a permanent (or even longterm) arrangement. In my experience, it’s often people who are working out what they want to do after FY2, or people who have a few months between one job finishing and another starting. Many of them are doctors who are doing a PhD or Masters or other research (often necessary for senior jobs) , so that they can finance their further studies. The myth of greedy career locums who are purely maximising their earnings by taking on the most expensive short term jobs is certainly overblown; whilst there are probably a small minorityof people out there focusing on earning as much as possible, most people are just trying to remain financially viable or earn a little extra.
What are the government doing about this? They aren’t dramatically increasing hospital funding. Instead, they are enforcing a cap on locum rates, meaning that they are forcing hospitals to not oay mroe than a certain amount per hour. The aim is to decrease the money spent on locum staff , but the effect of this is complex and may be hurting the system more than it is helping.
The cap affects internal locum rates more than agency rates. Enfocing much  payrates means that the majority of locums, people who were going to do an extra shift on top of existing work, will think twice about whether that shift will be worth time away from their family (or their bed). If people no longer want to do these jobs for that pay, then less locum shifts will be filled. After all, there are only a finite number of doctors in the UK.  In medicine, it’s well known that some hospitals struggle to fill locum shifts because their pay is not at all competitive. Trying to cut down what we pay people to work extra, last minute is likely going to mean that many of those desperately needed shifts remain unfilled.  As things stand, the caps could even be costing hospitals more than uncapped rates. The reason is that hospitals are allowed to lift the cap at very short notice. If a post remains unfilled just before the shift, prices often go up dramatically in a desperate attempt to get someone to agree. By the time someone accepts, this may well be more than they would have agreed to in the pre-cap days. That’s if it’s even accepted. By that point in time, most people have already made plans and are less likely to be able to take on the shifts. So even raising your locum pay significantly may not get you cover if you only do it short notice. Noboody is obligated to work for a price they find unacceptable. And yes, people can shop around until they find somewhere wiling to offer the kind of money they would find personally worth it. Nobody has to do locums, so they also get to choose where to do these shifts. I find it funny when people accuse locums of ‘shopping around’; um yeah, naturally. Are YOU suggesting that if someone’s offering their services on the free market, they should deliberately find the lowest paying employer? I explained above how the NHS as an employer sometimes shoots itself in the foot, practically penalising doctors who try to save it money. And of course the current government policy (which practically comes across as a vendetta against NHS workers by now) is evaporating our goodwill and bringing us to the end of our collective tether. The article acknowledges (barely) that most doctors who locum are already salaried employees who pick up an extra few shifts here and there. And this matters. Because if you are already working full time, and weighing up whether to spend that time with your loved ones or at work, what you are getting paid completely matters.
How could we decrease locum spending? Perhaps don’t make locum pay and normal staffing two separate pots of money. Right now, trusts can run out of money for permanent staff (and so will refuse to hire more people even when necessary) but can at the same time afford to pay much more to get a locum to cover the same post. Perhaps changing how we organise funding for staffing may make it easier for trusts to invest longterm into  I hear that places like Australia have staff who are purely hired to float between departments and cover absences, sickness, holiday leave etc. NHS trusts, by comparison, sometimes can’t even afford to hire enough doctors in a department to ensure they all get to actually take their mandatory leave. If you don’t book far enough in advance there won’t be enough people covering, and it’ll be no holiday for you, whether you are entitled to it or not. And sometiems, if your departmental staffing is particularly dire, there may not be enough people for all of you to talke all your leave, even holiday leave was dictated to you as fixed leave. Years of cutting spending means that unless staff are working flat-out all the time, it’s often assumed that departments are too well staffed. This is what I mean by taking slack out of the system; but it NEEDS slack, desperately. People fall sick, people go on holiday.  If we had enough slack in the system in terms of regular salaried staff (who are much cheaper than locum staff) The NHS could (and probably should) just pay doctors a bigger cut than locum agencies. Right now, hospitals have two ways of getting locum doctors: through external companies called locum agencies (who take a huge cut), and through their own in-house bank of doctors who are currently (or have been) employed there.  Weirdly, hospital ‘in-house bank’ rates for locum shifts are usually much lower than what external locum agencies pay doctors. Which is funny, because locum agencies also get a huge cut, sometimes as much as what the doctor gets, making the overall cost of getting cover through agencies much, much higher. This means that when doctors try to offer locum shifts to hospitals directly, they are usually offered a much smaller amount than if they went through agencies. Even worse, most doctors I know who work with hospitals  and agree to be paid less by doing internal cover end up being messed around when it comes to being paid, whereas agencies pay quickly. In all, this means doctors are financially punished by poorly thought out rules and The NHS could save a lot of money just by cutting out the middle man. Pay doctors what the agencies pay, and most of them would be willing to deal with hospitals directly, cutting out agencies altogether and saving the NHS a fortune. I personally think this would be a lot more straightforward, and probably save more money than the locum cap, whilst also encouraging a relationship between doctors and their employer without unnecessary agencies.
Why can’t we just make lots more places at med school? It’s really not that simple. It’s both shortsighted and missing the point to argue that we just need to increase medical school places. We could double the number of medical students (remember, though, the government subsidise a part of their training!), however, if working conditions after they graduate remain dire, or become worse, they will still leave medicine. You can let in as many as you like, but you need to keep them in medicine afterwards, otherwise they will go abroad or leave medicine altogether. You could then introduce rather scary rules forcing them to ‘do their time’ in the NHS, but this would probably do two things; discourage people from even applying to medicine, or increase the already high rates of dropout, mental thealth problems, other health problems, and suicide. I emphatically do not believe that making conditions more pressured would do anything to improve morale or keep people in. Being forced to stay in a job you no longer want to do won’t make you an empathetic doctor who loves their job and wants to go the extra mile, but a dispirited one who has run out of goodwill for the system they work in. That’s not the kind of medicine I want, nor do I want my family to be treated by doctors who hate their job, resent their employer and who have given up hope or caring. And yet, that is what my colleagues are increasingly forced into feeling. Our problem now is that the number of people leaving is increasing, because we are treating them worse. Even the most idealistic of 17 year olds who ignores what is going on in healthcare now will eventually be on the front line of the NHS deaing with the reality; we therefore need to make that reality better. Working out how many medical students we need is actually a delicate balance; You  need to have a proportional number of jobs at every training level for this to work out; flooding the system now won’t produce any FY1s (first year doctors) til 6 years’ time. It won’t produce any registrars til at least 10 years’ time. Will our system need a sudden flood of doctors all at the same seniority level? Probably not!  Whilst we could tweak that balance and train a little more than before, it would be silly to suddenly train many thousands more every year. It would also be difficutlt; medical schools only have the resources for a finite number of students! My med school accidentally accepted too many people into my year, so I can tell you that it can be very difficult to accommodate even a few extra students. To train thousands upon thousands more doctors will actually probably require either existing med schools to expand significantly (new buildings, new lecture theatres, new computer labs, new science labs etc) or for entirely new med schools to be built. Not exactly a cheap option. It would be much easier, faster and probably be cheaper for us if we worked on keeping most of the doctors who we’ve already put effort into training. We’ve had problems before with bottlenecks in training; you end up with highly trained staff being forced out of their speciality by the lack of available jobs at the next point in training, which is a disaster for the country which trained them, as well as for them personally. So Who do we blame? If you want to blame anyone, blame whoever keeps underfunding the entire healthcare service, so that each trust has to make cuts. Over those years those cuts have meant less doctors and nurses, dealing with more complicated patients, trying to give a more rapid turnover to deal with bed shortages. It has meant less support for doctors and nurses; with less phlebotomists, pharmacy working shorter hours, less admin staff, etc it means we shoulder more of that burden and making us even busier. Blame whoever forces hospitals to shut more A&Es, so that the remaining ones are overwhelmed. Blame those who allow hospitals to be shut down, or don’t expand services to cope with an ageing population, leading to increasing winter pressures year on year, with hospitals struggling to cope. Blame whoever decided that locum pay comes out of another pot than salaried staff pay, so that the same hospitals who can’t afford any more permanent staff can only afford to hire locums. Blame a number of factors, but don’t pretend that NHS workers are the cause of all problems facing the NHS.

In Japan and in the world, sexually transmitted diseases are increasing in a special way. Be careful, everyone.
For example, in the United Kingdom, HIV is spreading rapidly during middle and old age. The spread of the disease is converging in the UK and other developed nations, except for Japan, due to the spread of fear of HIV and knowledge of prevention.
After all, when a young Japanese woman I knew had a boyfriend in the UK, they just went to HIV testing before they started dating. It's not a special case, but it's a common sense in Europe and America to check each other's safety before SEX.
Also, even if you do not do that, it is common sense to do condoms, considering that there is a certain risk to the other party. But why is the UK, especially middle-aged and older, getting more HIV infected?
、 In the first place, sexual behavior is more active in young people, so it is strange that it will increase in middle-aged people. Experts in the UK found the cause. It seems that when women become menopause in middle and old age and the possibility of pregnancy disappears, the number of couples using contraceptives, especially condoms, will decrease dramatically.
In addition, this generation of people is `` it is OK because they do not get pregnant '', it seems that they change their partners quite often and sexually act, which is the reason that HIV infected people are prominently increasing only for this generation .
Indeed, it's an interesting story, but this is not another person in Japan. Because people and countries are almost the same to think about, it is possible that similar phenomena are occurring in middle-aged and elderly couples in Japan. At this point, just as in the United Kingdom, sexually transmitted diseases may suddenly begin to spread in middle-aged and elderly people, just as in the UK, but not in the statistics. Everyone, be careful.
And what is becoming a problem in Japan is the rapid spread of syphilis among young women. Syphilis is a disease that young people probably have never heard of. Until a while ago, even doctors were talking about "ghost disease", and it was a disease that you could only see in medical textbooks.
説 There are two theories that the disease was originally in Europe, and that the Columbus expedition brought it back to Europe, which was endemic in the United States, but many people believe the latter in general. In Japan during the Edo period, it spread throughout the country, and along with other sexually transmitted diseases, "Kayanagi disease" came to be called.
Probably, HIV and syphilis did not exist in Japan before the Muromachi era, so you can understand by reading the Tale of Genji, etc., but the old Japanese were sexually overbearing, probably because of Maybe the fear was much less than it is now.
梅 Since the Edo period, syphilis has become a masterpiece of Japan. e? Don't you know how to make a great climb? 表現 A long time ago, when the disease spread and the world panicked, this expression was always used, but I haven't seen it recently. The illness that uses such expressions may be decreasing.
But before WWII, when there was no cure for syphilis, the disease gradually took decades to begin to develop systemic symptoms, and ultimately became a terrible `` incurable disease '' that resulted in death, and `` strengthen the rise '' It was such a situation.
After the war, the disease became curable due to the development of antibiotics, but there were still 11,000 cases reported in 1967. In the 1960s, when I went to a fair when I was in elementary school, an elderly woman, who had apparently lost her nose in the third stage of syphilis, was helping a street vendor. Probably a person who had advanced syphilis at the time of "incurable disease".
Syphilis is caused by infection with bacteria called Treponema pallidum from the genitals and mouth. First, within weeks to three months after infection, cramped bumps, ulcers, and swelling occur at the infected site and at the lymph nodes at the base of the leg. All of them are characterized by no pain, and they heal naturally, so there are many cases where you do not notice at this time. This is the first phase.
2The second stage is three months to three years after infection, and a red rash like a rose appears on the palms and soles. This is a symptom caused by the spread of bacteria throughout the entire body. If the diagnosis is not confirmed at this timing with a blood test or other treatment, treatment will shift to the third phase. Treatment is relatively easy with antibiotics, provided the diagnosis is made.
3 In 3 to 10 years after infection, a tumor with hardness like rubber can be formed on skin, muscle, bone, etc. It is at this time that the nose tip is missing, which is the third symptom of syphilis.
の Despite the above symptoms, if you leave it, it will enter the fourth stage. Ten years after infection, the central nervous system, including the brain, is affected by bacteria, affecting the whole body, and in some cases, causing death. I'm scared.
Another scary point is that the disease is transmitted from mother to child. When a fetus is infected from a mother who has syphilis, it becomes "congenital syphilis" and babies may be born with various disorders such as meningitis, hydrocephalus, and hearing loss.
死 Also, there is a high probability of stillbirth or death shortly after birth. As a parent's responsibility, this must be avoided, but unfortunately, congenital syphilis has been rapidly increasing in Japan in recent years.
In 2010, there were only one case of congenital syphilis, but in 2018 there were more than 15 cases. Behind this is the spread of infection to young women. The spread of infected people in Japan began around 2011, when it fell below 1,000 in 2010 and finally exceeded 7000 in 2018. You can see that the number of patients is increasing at a tremendous rate.
It is actually the first time in 48 years that に な る 7,000 people have become the scale, of which 2413 are women. Overall, there are still more male patients, but if you are in your teens and 20s, there are more female patients.
感染 When this generation of women spreads, they have no knowledge of syphilis and are highly likely to become pregnant, greatly increasing the risk of their unborn baby having congenital syphilis without treatment.
Why is this happening? I think there are three causes. First of all, the spread of SNS makes it easier for strangers to become involved than before.
The other possibility is that inbound customers use Japanese sex shops to bring illness from overseas. Recently, if you look at the website of a sex shop, you will find information in English and Chinese. You should consider that using condoms has significantly increased the risk of oral infections.
And I think this is the decisive reason, but when HIV began to be widely reported in Japan in the 1980s, everyone started using condoms all at once to prevent infection. However, HIV is almost no longer an “incurable disease,” and the number of people who use condoms in sexual intercourse with strangers is diminishing as alertness is reduced.
I think readers are ok, but it's important to keep in mind that sexually transmitted diseases, which were thought to be almost gone in the book today, are reviving at a tremendous rate.

Realme X50 Pro 5G Detailed Phone Review: Everything
Realme X50 Pro 5G Review
The first 5G phone in India comes in front of any network which can support it.
Is India prepared for a 5G cell phone? The short answer is no. We have no business 5G systems and no unmistakable signs that they will be turning out in India sooner rather than later. Significant telecom administrators are battling in the wake of having cut duties on account of value wars in the course of recent years, so we can't be certain that any of them will attempt significant foundation updates the nation over this year, and afterward obviously there's the enormous expense of 5G range squares. When 5G turns out, it will probably cost more than we are totally used to paying now, and it will be some time before 5G-empowered telephones are typical. The long answer is that 5G is coming at any rate, and in the event that you need to be one of the first to have the option to utilize it when towers do illuminate, you should have a 5G telephone now. Realme and a few different organizations are planning to catch this early adopter advertise. Also, it doesn't bode well to create 5G-fit leads for certain pieces of the world and altogether various items for other people. The Realme X50 Pro 5G isn't just Realme's most costly model yet in India, but on the other hand it's the primary 5G telephone and the first with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 865 processor to formally be propelled in India. We won't have the option to test its 5G usefulness however we can disclose to you whether it merits spending your cash on, and whether this telephone offers potential future usefulness at the expense of current-day ease of use.
Realme X50 Pro 5G Structure
In a moderately limited capacity to focus time, Realme has set up its image stylish and the X50 Pro looks a great deal like the organization's past models. This telephone is somewhat blockier than other Realme models yet it despite everything feels present day. The front and back are both made of Corning Gorilla Glass, and the screen is hindered by a double camera pattern in the upper left corner as opposed to a score. There's likewise an observable jawline underneath the screen.
With respect to the back, Realme has gone for curbed strong hues and no slopes or examples for this very good quality gadget in spite of the fact that the glass appears to have some profundity and the shading shifts a little when you move the telephone in your grasp. You just get a decision between Rust Red and Moss Green, so there's no totally calm alternative. While the surface of the back glass seems iced, it's entirely smooth and somewhat tricky.
In the top left corner of the back, however, we have Realme's famous vertical camera line, but it disturbs us a bit that the four focus points are separated unregulately. The force button is on the privilege and volume catches are on the left, sufficiently low to be close enough. On the base, we have the USB Type-C port, speaker, and SIM plate. We need to bring up that there's no 3.5mm sound attachment, which is disappointing. Realme agents revealed to Gadgets 360 that while devotees of its spending telephones needn't stress at this time, the organization accepts that top of the line telephone purchasers are all set solely remote.
The edge of the telephone is made of metal and the general development quality is awesome. The Realme X50 Pro 5G feels like a truly top of the line telephone; in any event comparable to current OnePlus contributions in a similar value section. Lamentably it's significantly heavier than normal at 205g. That was difficult to use a one-speed screen, as the 6.4-inch 20:9 is tall and the back is glass smooth.
Realme X50 Pro 5G Determinations And Programming
The huge news here is obviously 5G, which is empowered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor and its partner Snapdragon X55 modem. Whenever used to its maximum capacity on an appropriate 5G organize, Qualcomm shows potential download paces of 7.5Gbps and transfers at 3Gbps, which is simply faltering. We don't have the foggiest idea what gauges every transporter here will embrace, however Qualcomm brags of help for mmWave and sub-6, the present major 5G usage turning out around the world.
The Snapdragon 865 is additionally a fresh out of the box new lead processor, which we're exceptionally anxious to test. This worked about four Qualcomm Kryo 585 Silver centers with 1.8 GHz, three Kryo 585 Gold Center with 2.42 GHz, and a Kryo 585 Gold Center with 2.82GHz. The high-end GPU coordinate Adreno 650 is also available, and improved cameras ' subsystems, AI planning, gaming, video, sound, and it's just the start. Display consistency is also one of the sales focus of the X50 Pro 5G. The Super AMOLED HDR10 + display was used by Realme at a rate of 90Hz and 1080x2400 pixel targets. To change battery life and execution, you can set the revival rate at 60Hz, 90Hz, or Auto. The battery cap is 4200mAh, and Realme states that in only 35 minutes the charger includes the 65W' SuperDart ' appears to be charged from zero to 100 percent.
Realme provides the X50 Pro 5G in 3 combinations, with an average base contribution of Rs. 37,999 getting 6 GB of RAM with a capacity of 120 GB; you can raise up to RAM 8 GB for Rs. 39,999 and Rs. 12 GB of RAM with a capacity of 256 GB; however, the top choice will hinder you with Rs. 44,999. The RAM is Rs. 48,999. The organization says it has utilized LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.0 capacity to make this telephone speedy and responsive. Nonetheless, you don't get a microSD card space. There's a fume cooling framework for the processor and different other current accommodations, for example, double recurrence GPS just as NavIC support, sound system speakers, NFC, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.1 with the AptX HD sound codec.
What you won't find on this telephone are remote charging, an IP water and residue opposition rating, a progressively intriguing determination of cameras, and a super-sharp showcase. Much like OnePlus with the OnePlus 7T 【₹ 34,999】(Review) and the up and coming 8 arrangement, Realme has kept down on highlights so as to hit an alluring value point. Concerning programming, we have Android 10 with Realme UI 1.1 on top, which is a somewhat altered form of Oppo's ColorOS. The UI is genuinely basic and adheres to the general design of stock Android, yet there are a couple of modidications. The Settings application has a great deal of extra classes and things may not generally be the place you hope to discover them. You additionally get loads of UI personalisation alternatives including a decision of symbol styles, authority over the symbol lattice thickness, and the capacity to get rid of an application cabinet so all symbols are set on your telephone's homescreen.
Realme's very own portion highlights incorporate Game Space, which currently lets you organize a game's Internet traffic; lighting impacts around the screen's edges for notices; an encompassing showcase mode (impaired naturally); driving and riding modes; application cloning; and the capacity to take care of sham individual data to applications to secure your protection. The underlying telephone arrangement process incorporates a stage that attempts to cause you to download more applications. The default "lockscreen magazine" shows advanced substance, however this can be incapacitated no problem at all. We saw a great deal of misleading content spam notices from the Realme UI's internet browser, and we weren't excited about having numerous application and game stores in addition to preinstalled bloatware applications, a large number of which can't be uninstalled.
Realme X50 Pro 5G Execution And Battery Life
We clearly had elevated standards on account of the Snapdragon 865 processor, which sets another standard for execution. Obviously, we experienced no difficulty at all with speed and responsiveness when utilizing this telephone. We haven't felt any absence of execution from the previous scarcely any ages of lead SoCs, so it's difficult to tell that there's anything new going on in the engine while approaching your regular business. This general smartphone also comes with a 90Hz screen, LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.0 capable.
Benchmarks obviously exist to show what eyeballing a gadget can't enough separate.AnTuTu gave us a single and multicenter ranking of 584, 447 and Geekbench 5, all with a score of 905 and 3,314. The T-rex and Manhattan 3.1 tests were both upgraded to a 60fps standard by GFXBench, and 45fps were used for the required Car Chase. 3DMark's extreme and unregulated score for Slingshot was 7,263 and 9,837. The Realme X50 Pro 5G even has a reasonable lead over the Samsung Galaxy S20+ (Review) with its Exynos 990 SoC, which is Samsung's in-house equal. The Realme X50 Pro 5G's screen is fantastic, with pleasant energetic hues and sufficient splendor. It isn't as fresh as the 1440p screens you'll see on progressively costly leader grade telephones, yet we don't figure anybody will grumble. The wide double camera pattern can be diverting when observing full-screen video, yet at any rate it's in one corner and not focused. The sound system speakers on this telephone are an extremely lovely amazement – sound is exceptionally boisterous and rich, with a sensible measure of bass, and bending is leveled out except if you maximize the volume.
We utilized this telephone for all our ordinary exercises including spilling media, games, photography, and general diversion. We possibly felt the back get a little warm when running tests and recording 4K video for significant lots. We played PUBG Mobile and had the option to knock the illustrations quality up to HDR and the casing rate to Ultra with no recognizable decrease in smoothness or responsiveness. Black-top 9: Legends was likewise completely agreeable with no faltering at all. Realme has figured out how to convey great battery life also. 4200mAh probably won't appear to be a great deal nowadays yet the Realme X50 Pro figures out how to make that keep going for well over an entire day. We didn't need to charge our unit till halfway during that time morning in the wake of utilizing it for the duration of the day. Our HD video circle test ran for 19 hours, 4 minutes.
Super-speedy charging is one of this current telephone's USPs and we found this exceptionally helpful. The packaged 65W charger is massive and overwhelming, and you'll have to haul it around with you if it's to be helpful. We figured out how to go from totally dead to 25 percent in about 7 minutes, 50 percent in a little more than 14 minutes, and 75 percent in a short time, after which the charging rate started to lessen. A full charge took precisely 41 minutes, 16 seconds which is longer than Realme's brief case, yet at the same time phenomenal.
Realme X50 Pro 5G Cameras
The Realme X50 Pro has four back cameras, similar to the standard nowadays. First up is a 64-megapixel essential camera dependent on the Samsung GW1 sensor, with a f/1.8 gap. In addition there is a wide-scale8-megapixel F/2.3 camera, which is actually literally common even on low-end phones, but now as a large-scale smartphone. The biggest surprise here is the 12-megapixel relay camera that allows you to zoom in 2X, but has a f/2.5 difference. Finally, the monochrome depth sensor is 2-megapixel. There is a 32-megapixel main camera on the phone's façade and an8-megapixel width camera.
With everything taken into account, this feels like Realme checking boxes instead of picking equipment that pushes limits or conveys executioner photographic capacities. Then again, Realme is hyping numerous parts of the X50 Pro 5G's camera programming. There's Night Mode 3.0 with a Tripod setting that lets you have a presentation up to 50 seconds if the telephone is steady. Video adjustment is actualized on both front cameras, and there's additionally consistent Portrait Mode for video giving you profundity impacts, in addition to 120fps moderate movement recording. The camera application is genuinely very much spread out however has a few eccentricities. You can tap the specks over the shade catch to rapidly switch between the wide-edge camera, standard, and optical zoom cameras, and there's another dab for 5X half and half zoom. You can go past this to 20X advanced zoom, yet you wouldn't know this without long-squeezing any of the spots. This raises a progressively granular zoom slider, however peculiarly you need to drag your finger back towards where the lower zoom level specks were to zoom in more distant.
Light photographs appeared to be luxuriously itemized with fresh center, yet somewhat curbed hues. A little grain was obvious while looking into photographs at full size. The telephone handled exposures well in any event, when shooting against the sun, and we experienced no difficulty utilizing the camera application. The wide-edge camera functions admirably enough and contortion at the edges was insignificant. Photographs are adequate to utilize and aren't unmistakably more terrible than those taken with the essential camera when seen on the telephone's own screen, yet you can't anticipate a similar degree of detail at full size. The fax camera is likewise valuable and the photographs we took at 2X were fine regarding quality. Things do corrupt when you get into the computerized and cross breed zoom extends yet in the daytime in any event you may have the option to select some detail out yonder. We experienced a great deal of difficulty attempting to concentrate on full scale subjects and the application didn't help with prompts when we were attempting to draw nearer to or more remote away from what we were shooting. Some experimentation may be required, and it doesn't appear to function admirably for little subjects regardless of whether the foundation is out yonder. Then again Portrait Mode gave us some exceptionally great outcomes, saving fine subtleties regarding our matters and delicately obscuring the foundation to make subjects truly stick out. Indeed, even without Portrait Mode, there was some extremely charming profundity of field.
Around evening time, photograph quality was alright however not constantly extraordinary. We had to keep exceptionally still as movement obscure could be an issue on account of the shade remaining open long. The pictures were excellent and the hues were still very much discussed. Oddly, night fashion offered us very strange results with shockingly warped colors, and in some shots the subtleties had not been greatly improved. We wouldn't rely upon this mode, and we trust programming fixes can deal with this later on. The wide-edge and fax cameras both did approve employments if there was sufficient light around, and the outcomes were dinky yet usable. We did frequently see that the Realme X50 Pro 5G couldn't conclude whether to utilize the fax camera or default back to the essential camera with a computerized zoom, and the viewfinder would be stuck noticeably and quickly exchanging between the two perspectives. The edge of light required for the telephone to choose these choices could likewise utilize some tweaking. Our fundamental grievance with the front cameras is that beautification is on as a matter of course and it takes a ton of tapping to kill all the alleged upgrades. Photographs looked great even around evening time. Edges were characterized well in portait shots, yet foundations were once in a while overexposed. You can take up to 4 K to shoot the video. Adjustment isn't extraordinary however, and video that we shot while strolling was jerky. Hues were way exaggerated and oversaturated at 4K both in the daytime and around evening time, making video look counterfeit and disagreeable. The tone was substantially more unbiased and characteristic at 1080p. We noticed some sparkle and jerkiness in cuts took shots around evening time, however they were sufficiently brilliant and detail was shockingly acceptable while clamor was leveled out.
Decision
Without being an excellent item for which you have to pay extra, the Realme X50 Pro is 5G. Without a doubt, 5G is certifiably not a reasonable reality in India yet, however you may have the option to utilize it when voyaging abroad and it can't damage to be prepared. We'd have had reservations if different highlights had been undermined comparative with different telephones at this value level, however that doesn't appear to be the situation. This cell phone contends at a similar value level as the OnePlus 7T and is from multiple points of view progressively present day and proficient – we don't have a clue how much time Realme should profit by its first-mover advantage before the OnePlus 8 arrangement is reported, yet for the time being, its lead is clear. Among the Realme X50 Pro's best properties are its super-quick charging, flexible cameras, ground-breaking processor, and smooth in general look and feel. You don't get remote charging or an IP rating, and we'd have preferred a less dangerous back, however these are minor issues thinking about the cost. In the event that highlights and determinations aren't all that matters, you could look at a year ago's Samsung Galaxy S10e【₹ 40,799】or the later Galaxy S10 Lite (Review)】. The iQoo 3【₹ 39,990】, from the place of Vivo, offers 5G on one variation and it will be intriguing to perceive how that model piles up. The iPhone XR【₹ 48,899】 could likewise merit considering since its value drops to around this level when it goes at a bargain.

The Ultimate Alpha Prime Elite Review – What You Need To Know About Alpha Prime Elite
Every now and then we need that extra boost of energy! There are several reasons you may need to increase your testosterone levels, like help with training and recovery. An increase of this hormone is also good for sex drive.
While clearly, the benefits are there, not all testosterone boosters are made the same. A quality one will improve your mood, increase libido, and give you less fat and more muscle mass. Many men have found that safe testosterone boosters take their training to the next level. They enjoy more intense workouts and share that their body fat melts off fast!
If you’ve landed on this page, chances are you’re in search of more information regarding Alpha Prime Elite. Before we jump into this Alpha Prime Elite review, let’s briefly go over the benefits of t-booster supplements. Then, we’ll determine if the Alpha Prime Elite testosterone booster is right for you.
Benefits of T-Booster Supplements
There’s a reason testosterone boosters continue to rise in popularity. After all, increased levels of testosterone in the body offer many benefits:
Healthy Heart
For starters, heart health is extremely important and t-boosters can help! When your heart pumps blood to the rest of your body it gives muscles the necessary oxygen for maximum performance.
Low testosterone levels are often linked to cardiovascular risks. Studies show that men with heart disease noticed slight improvements when undertaking testosterone therapy.
Moreover, many studies show that men with higher testosterone levels are less likely to have a stroke in their lifetime.
Less Fat and More Muscle
This is a large reason why men invest in t-booster supplements. A quality option can significantly increase muscle mass while maintaining a low-fat percentage.
Remember that these supplements won’t work unless you do. If you want to see results you have to take a T-booster and pair it with exercise.
Stronger Bones
As you get older, your bone density will decrease. This is because testosterone levels drop as well. It’s no surprise that strong bones allow you to live a healthier, more comfortable life. They support your muscles and internal organs. This is all great for your overall health, as well as training and athletic performance.
Research shows that testosterone impacts bone density. Through the use of testosterone treatments, bone density increases.
Increased Sex Drive
Naturally, with increased testosterone levels, libido will also improve. Men with higher levels of this hormone experience greater sexual activity.
It is important to note that t-boosters cannot help erectile dysfunction. This condition is due to other causes and requires different treatment. We recommend this supplement for older men that need a libido boost, not those seeking a cure for ED. For younger men, this is not a reason to invest in a T-booster.
Improved Mood
The last benefit users should receive from supplements like Alpha Prime Elite testosterone boosters is an improved mood. Low testosterone levels are associated with a poor quality of life. Symptoms that come from this include depression, irritability, and fatigue. Testosterone boosters can improve the mood and bring more energy to your life.
Our Alpha Prime Elite Review
Will Alpha Prime Elite give you these results? Let’s find out!
First, What Is It?
First things first, we need to clarify that Alpha Prime Elite is similarly named to another supplement known as Alpha Prime. It’s important not to confuse the two. While they are both sold by ATP Science Pty Ltd, they work in two completely different ways.
Alpha Prime is designed to detox estrogen (the female hormone) out of the male body.
Alpha Prime Elite is a totally different supplement and works as a testosterone booster.
With this clarification out the way, let’s jump into Alpha Prime Elite and what it is!
CHECK CURRENT PRICE
In short, Alpha Prime Elite is a testosterone booster. This supplement is designed to increase levels of testosterone naturally. Some t-boosters use Sustanon – an illegal steroid. Alpha Prime Elite does not contain this ingredient. It was designed to give males a boost of energy within seconds, without harmful steroids.
Did you know that males with too little of this hormone can’t function to their fullest potential? They will:
Lack strength
Struggle with zero energy
Have weak muscles
T-boosters elevate strength and even boost sex drive. Alpha Prime Elite does this and more. It also elevates the rate of muscle growth, drops body fat, and boosts energy.
Now, this is what Alpha Prime Elite claims to do. The real question is, does it do it?
How Does It Work?
It’s important to note that ATP Science has discontinued this product. Men can still get a hold of it through different sites, but the fact that it isn’t sold on its official website is a little alarming. Alpha Prime Elite Amazon might be your best option, but even then it’s unlikely you’ll find it here. If you are able to get your hands on it, here is what this product claims to do:
Elevates Human Growth Hormone Production
The first thing this t-booster claims to do is to accelerate the production of testosterone in your body. This is thanks to its ingredients, which we’ll get to later.
It elevates hormone levels, particularly the human growth hormone (HGH). This hormone isn’t only responsible for helping you grow and get taller – it is also responsible for burning fat and building muscle.
In short, more testosterone means more HGH which leads to more muscle and less fat.
Increases Energy Levels
If we are going to power through our workouts we need to increase our energy levels. The more we work out, the faster our body will recover, and the quicker our muscles will build. However, in order to power through intense workouts, we need energy. Alpha Prime Elite testosterone levels will increase in the body.
You can also expect a rise in serotonin. This is a happy hormone. Not only does it make us feel happier than usual, but it energizes us to push through extreme workouts. This means more gains!
Increases Muscle Protein Synthesis
Every time we lift heavy objects, we damage the muscles. Then, our muscles are forced to repair, which is how they grow.
When we increase the levels of testosterone in our bodies, we are also increasing the rate at which our muscles heal. Testosterone is what fuels this entire process which is why so many men want to take advantage of this hormone by investing in a t-booster.
Who Should and Shouldn’t Use This Supplement?
Before you decide if this product is right for you, we suggest you read the entire review. However, Alpha Prime Elite claims that their product is made for men who:
Don’t want to use steroids
Have plateaued in terms of achieving results
Want that boost of strength to lift heavier weights
Want an increase in energy
Are able to recover quickly after a workout
Want to lose fat quickly
Then, of course, this t-booster claims to help with sex drive. T-boosters usually always claim to do the above, but it’s not in all cases that they do.
After reading this complete review you may still decide Alpha Prime Elite is not for you, but we want to make you aware of who definitely should not take this product.
Anyone who is under 18 years old (you don’t need it)!
Bodybuilders who drop fat quickly and can easily get ripped
Men who don’t lack sex drive
Men looking for steroids. Remember, Alpha Prime Elite is natural!
Those who don’t ever workout. If you don’t put in some effort, t-boosters won’t work
Ingredients
A product is only as good as the ingredients within it. So, why is it that many users haven’t found much success using Alpha Prime Elite?
Personally, we are not fans of this product. After all, there is a reason it’s been discontinued by ATP Science. Let’s look into Alpha Prime Elite ingredients to get a better idea of what this supplement contains:
Boron. This is an element found to naturally boost testosterone levels
L-Arginine. Alpha Prime Elite nitric oxide vascular pump coincided with this ingredient. L-Arginine is an amino acid that increases the production of nitric oxide. This substance enables the vascular system to dilate. This means there will be an increase in blood flow to your muscles and downstairs area! Now, while this ingredient is fantastic for exercising and improving sexual drive, it has zero impact on testosterone levels
Maca Root. This is a plant extract proven to have many health benefits. It’s rich in antioxidants and increases energy levels. There is, however, no evidence that suggests Maca Root boosts testosterone levels
Saw Palmetto. There isn’t much research on the relationship between this ingredient and testosterone stimulation. Studies have shown that this substance reduces prostate enlargement in men, which is a cause of erectile dysfunction
Nettle Root. This is a natural ingredient that can maintain testosterone levels in the body. It does this by preventing aromatase from turning into estrogen
Tongkat Ali. This is a flowering shrub shown to boost testosterone levels, increase sex drive, and improve blood circulation. This is an important ingredient in any t-booster
Fenugreek. This is an ingredient shown to boost levels of testosterone in the body
That is everything when it comes down to the ingredients in Alpha Prime Elite. While this supplement does include t-boosting ingredients that should result in more muscle gain and a boost of energy, there are some warning signals to be aware of. There isn’t any information about how much of each ingredient is incorporated, so it’s difficult to judge its quality.
Overall, with the ingredients alone, it’s hard to judge the efficacy of this supplement.
Side Effects
While most of our review has been quite negative, we do want to point out that we did not find any negative side effects. Users have not suffered any type of allergic reaction or health complication as a result of using this product because all of the ingredients are natural, which is a bonus!
We do advise you to take caution if you use this supplement. Like we discussed above, Alpha Prime Elite does not disclose how much of every ingredient is included. This makes it difficult to judge how much of each ingredient you’re putting into your body. Because users didn’t notice any results during the first couple of months, they stopped using this supplement. It may be the case that long-term use could result in negative side effects.
Where to Buy Alpha Prime Elite?
This is an excellent question! If you’re determined to give this t-booster a try, your best bet would be to check out sites like Amazon or eBay. The seller of Alpha Prime Elite has discontinued this product from their website, so you cannot purchase it directly from them. You also won’t be able to find Alpha Prime Elite in GNC, Walmart, or similar stores.
Again, there must be a reason it was taken off their website. What is the Alpha Prime Elite cost? When it was available it retailed at $85.95 which is very expensive! Especially, when taking into consideration its minimal results. They also offered a 30-day free trial. Many buyers share that even when they tried to cancel their trial, they were charged for the product.
We encourage you to go with an alternative option – you’ll be saving yourself time, energy, and money!
Final Verdict
All in all, Alpha Prime Elite did not make it to the top of our t-booster list. Like we mentioned at the beginning of this post, not all testosterone boosters are made the same. There is a clear difference between those that actually work and those that are nothing more than a placebo.
If you’re still thinking about buying this product, we encourage you to read other Alpha Prime Elite reviews to see what other people are saying.
As for us, we are not big fans of this supplement. If you’re looking for the best t-booster out there, this one may just not be it.

Venue vs XUV300 vs Nexon vs EcoSport petrol-manual comparison
11th Nov 2019 6:00 am
With its sturdy engine, lengthy gear checklist and SUV pretence, the Venue 1.Zero turbo-petrol appears to be the car that does all of it. We discover out if it could possibly higher the competitors.
You might have seen, final month, our mega comparison take a look at of eight midsize SUVs that includes the likes of the brand new Kia Seltos and MG Hector. Yes, that’s at the moment the hotspot within the Indian SUV market – and the Indian market, on the whole – proper now, however let’s not neglect the sub-four-metre SUV section, and the succesful new entrant that launched just a few months in the past. Yup, it’s the Hyundai Venue, the compact SUV that lastly allowed the Creta to go away the price range sport behind and play correctly with the large boys. But the Venue itself is such product in its personal proper, representing nice worth and providing consumers numerous alternative, with many trim ranges and 4 powertrain choices. We’ve already accomplished comparison assessments of the petrol-automatic and diesel-manual, however right now we’re going to do the enjoyable one – petrol-manual, the de facto driver’s alternative. We’ve introduced alongside each sub-four-metre SUV that has a petroleum engine, and which means the Nexon, the EcoSport and the XUV300, however no Brezza (but). Can the Venue make a hat-trick of it?
Spec Talk
This is all about these vehicles’ petrol-manual powertrains, so let’s get proper into it. The Venue can be obtainable with the i20’s 83hp, 1.2-litre petrol engine, in decrease trims, however that engine already feels weak in an i20, so we are able to’t think about what it will be like within the heavier Venue. No, we’re testing the brand new 1.0-litre T-GDI turbo-petrol engine, which packs 120hp and 172Nm of torque – numbers extra befitting a car this dimension. The XUV300, with 110hp, won’t have fairly as a lot energy because the Venue, however its 1.2-litre turbo-petrol has the class-leading 200Nm of torque! The Nexon doesn’t do too badly both, with its 1.2 turbo-petrol making 110hp and 170Nm, nevertheless it’s the EcoSport that’s the anomaly on this bunch.
Venue’s 1.Zero is quickest, most effective.
Ford pioneered the small-capacity, three-cylinder, turbo-petrol engine – the 1.0 EcoEnhance – in India on this very car when it was launched in 2013, however sadly, we don’t have that model with us right now. The truth is, few are shopping for that engine anymore, largely because of the value premium and its popularity for poor gasoline economic system – to the purpose that even Ford wasn’t capable of finding us a car to check. In truth, the engine is ready to be killed off when BS6 norms come into play. The larger purpose, nonetheless, is that Ford’s different petrol unit, the 1.5-litre ‘Dragon’ naturally aspirated engine launched in 2017 has confirmed to be nearly as good – and even higher in some areas – than its turbo-petrol sibling, so it’s the one we’ve right here. Its 123hp (simply 2 lower than the EcoEnhance) is the best on this take a look at, and regardless of not having a turbo, it nonetheless makes a wholesome sufficient 150Nm of torque, so don’t depend it out proper initially.
Ford’s non-turbo 1.5 packs some pep.
Put up in opposition to our testing gear – it’s really the second-quickest car right here, hitting the ton in 12.10sec. Okay, positive, its in-gear acceleration figures (13.27sec for 20-80kph in third, 18.51sec for 40-100kph in fourth) aren’t fairly nearly as good as a few of its turbocharged rivals, which ship a strong shot of torque within the mid-range, nevertheless it’s not too far off. In a tough acceleration run, the Nexon is the primary to get to 60kph (4.87sec), however by the point 100kph comes round, it’s dropped to 3rd place at 12.33sec. When speaking in-gear acceleration, the taller gearing means it’s really the slowest of the bunch, with 20-80kph in 14.62sec and 40-100kph in 19.89sec. Surprisingly, regardless of all that torque, the XUV300 is the slowest to 100kph, at 12.80sec. And that’s possible right down to its portly 1,360kg kerb weight (172kg greater than the Nexon), and to the noticeable await the turbo to spool up. After round 2,000rpm, the XUV300 merely flies, and you may see that in its in-gear occasions; it’s the quickest right here (20-80kph in third – 11.65sec, 40-100kph in fourth – 13.96sec). The quickest car from 0-100kph is the Hyundai Venue. The ton is finished in simply 11.24sec and in-gear occasions (20-80kph in third – 11.96sec; 40-100kph in fourth – 13.89sec) are solely barely bested by the XUV300.
Dimensions Hyundai Venue 1.Zero T-GDI MT SX (O) Mahindra XUV300 Petrol M T W8 (O) Tata Nexon Revotron MT XZ+ Ford EcoSport 1.5 MT Titanium+ Length 3995mm 3995mm 3994mm 3998mm Width 1770mm 1821mm 1811mm 1765mm Height 1590mm 1617mm 1607mm 1647mm Wheelbase 2500mm 2600mm 2498mm 2519mm Boot capability 350 litres 257 litres 350 litres 352 litres Fuel tank capability 45 litres 42 litres 44 litres 52 litres Kerb weight – 1360kg 1188kg 1274kg Ground clearance 195mm 180mm 209mm 200mm Tyre dimension 215/60 R16 215/55 R17 215/60 R16 205/60 R16
On the transfer
The purpose you wouldn’t anticipate the Venue to be the quickest is that, in on a regular basis driving, it doesn’t really feel pressing or significantly fast. In truth, the most important praise you may give its turbo-petrol engine is that it doesn’t really feel overtly turbocharged, and this regardless of having the smallest swept quantity of simply 998cc. Power supply is easy and delicate, so in case you’re transitioning – as many could be – from a naturally aspirated petrol engine, this one will really feel proper at house. It has a powerful mid-range, as with all turbo engine, however you don’t get that pronounced slug of torque at a sure level within the rev band. That means it’s pleasant pottering round at low speeds, and robust sufficient once you need to overtake, and that is all helped by a lightweight clutch and gearshift motion. In truth, the way in which every gear ‘clicks’ into place is reasonably satisfying. Refinement is fairly good too, with only a little bit of three-cylinder thrum coming by way of.
The EcoSport has an identical three-cylinder thrum, nevertheless it really sounds a bit sporty right here. And, being a naturally aspirated engine, you’re inclined to rev it tougher to entry its energy – not like the turbocharged motors, the place it’s all about savouring the mid-range. That mentioned, that is no Honda i-VTEC motor that requires you to cross 5,000rpm to search out the true energy. It really presents nice pep low down and within the mid-range (by naturally aspirated requirements, at the least), and which means it’s greater than tractable sufficient so that you can get your metropolis duties accomplished in third gear. This is an effective factor, as a result of this engine is saddled with Ford’s ageing IB5 gearbox – the one 5-speeder on this take a look at – which has a imprecise, imprecise really feel, and the clutch requires a little bit of muscle too.
XUV300 motor packs a 200Nm punch.
In complete distinction to that is the XUV300’s gearbox. Its throws are fairly lengthy and – this has in all probability by no means been mentioned earlier than – so mild that it takes a little bit of getting used to; you typically surprise in case you’ve not slotted it in correctly. Overall, although, it’s simple to make use of, as is the sunshine clutch, which too has fairly a protracted journey. As talked about, there’s a little bit of turbo lag, however off-boost at low speeds, it has sufficient pep to make easy progress. Once the turbo does spool up by round 2,000rpm, nonetheless, you’d higher have your wits about you, as a result of the XUV300 simply takes off – it’s laborious to imagine it’s the slowest from a standstill. There on it flies effortlessly to the redline accompanied by a whoosh and whistle from the turbo, however, aside from that, it’s a reasonably quiet engine; probably the most refined of this lot.
Nexon engine feels jerky at low speeds.
The Nexon has probably the least refined engine, with a rough grumble that follows you round in any respect revs. Performance, although, feels satisfactory, particularly you probably have its distinctive drive mode selector in Sport. Actually, Sport or City modes are the place you need to hold the Nexon, as Eco feels far too weak. Still, you possibly can keep a gradual cruise on the freeway and, must you want a downshift, the gearshift is kind of slick too. The situation arises once you aren’t attempting to go quick – low-speed driveability is compromised by a critically jerky energy supply, which might make your every day commute annoying.
We haven’t had an opportunity to place all these vehicles by way of our rigorous gasoline effectivity take a look at simply but, however going by their ARAI rankings, the Venue comes out on high, with 18.27kpl total. The XUV and Nexon are rated at an an identical 17kpl, whereas the EcoSport will get a 16.5kpl score. But know that these numbers are all achieved in ultimate circumstances, not the true world, and small-capacity turbo-petrol engines are infamous for turning into gas-guzzlers in case you’re enthusiastic with the throttle.

On a roll
It’s an actual disgrace the Nexon’s engine has its flaws, as a result of if not for it, this could have made for a compelling driver’s car, because the dynamic setup is simply very good. The steering is fast and responsive and physique management in corners is nice too. What’s extra, the Nexon has, total, one of the best journey on this bunch. Low- and high-speed bump absorption are each actually good, other than a slight clunkiness that’s forgivable. The EcoSport has a equally good journey and dealing with steadiness, particularly now that Ford has gone again to 16-inch wheels throughout the board from the 17-inch wheels you used to get on the upper trims beforehand. The suspension was softened a bit with the 2017 facelift, nevertheless it nonetheless errs on the agency aspect and that may be felt on a tough patch of street. This, in true Ford vogue, stays the go-to alternative for dealing with, with a steering that’s pin-sharp and its hatchback-like agility.
The XUV300 isn’t too unhealthy from behind the wheel both, with a fairly well-weighted (if a tad gradual) steering you could weight up additional utilizing its distinctive steering mode settings. Low-speed journey high quality is admittedly good, due to a softly sprung suspension that may eat up most bumps in your every day grind. It’s simply that, as you go quicker, your passengers will get bounced round a bit, and hit a pointy bump too laborious and also you’ll really feel a strong thud from these 17-inch alloy wheels. Another factor to notice is that, although it’s mild on its ft and its size is similar as the remaining, the Mahindra feels the most important from the driving force’s seat, due to its longer bonnet and higher width. Uncharacteristically for a Hyundai, the Venue’s suspension is ready up a bit of agency. Sure, which means it feels fairly sure-footed at velocity regardless of its small footprint, however you do get numerous short-frequency vertical motion within the cabin, particularly at low to medium speeds. The steering is an enormous enchancment from Hyundais of outdated, when it comes to weight and suggestions, nevertheless it’s nonetheless a great distance from the Tata and the Ford, feeling a tad gradual and lifeless. It should be famous, nonetheless, that it is rather simple to steer in site visitors or for parking manoeuvres, and fortunately that may be mentioned of all of the vehicles right here.
  Step proper in
Now sure, driving pleasure is an enormous a part of these petrol-manual compact SUVs’ repertoires, however you’ve bought to know what else your hard-earned cash is getting you. One of these issues ought to be house and luxury – or else you’d simply have a premium hatchback, proper? The XUV300 has probably the most spacious passenger cell, with the best width in addition to probably the most legroom within the again. The mild colors give it a way of airiness and, on the rear, you’ll discover a three-point seatbelt and adjustable headrest for the center passenger – one thing the others don’t have. What you received’t discover, nonetheless, is a set of rear AC vents, and that’s a disgrace.
The XUV300’s bought probably the most spacious again seat, particularly on width.
The EcoSport doesn’t get rear AC vents both, and whereas house for occupants is first rate, it’s not one of the best, and an all-black color scheme lessens the sense of house some extra. The Ford makes good use of its peak, seating you greater up in order that house doesn’t really feel too compromised, however, finally, legroom on the rear isn’t nearly as good because the Mahindra. And whereas sitting excessive up on the entrance provides you probably the most ‘traditional SUV-like’ really feel from the helm, the massive, Y-shaped A-pillars create an enormous blind spot, and the view out the again isn’t good both.
EcoSport makes use of peak to present higher sense of house.
The Nexon has a stunning quantity of house for its dimension, although its curved roof appears so low. Clever packaging and a low-set seat imply that leg- and headroom on the rear come surprisingly near the Mahindra, however cabin width and the sculpted bench means it really works higher for simply two, and the rising window line impedes your view out. Rear passengers may also get the advantage of a rear AC vent. The low seating applies to the entrance additionally, and the Tata feels probably the most like a hatchback from behind the wheel.
Surprisingly good house on the Nexon however you sit decrease down.
The Venue feels the smallest on the within and, as within the Ford, its all-black color scheme doesn’t assist. It’s not an excessive amount of of a problem from the driving force’s seat, the place you’ll get an awesome view out and seating place. The rear seat (AC vent however), nonetheless, feels probably the most compromised of this bunch on house. Although headroom isn’t too unhealthy, width and legroom are noticeably decrease, and squeezing three adults again right here could be fairly an enormous ask.
Back seat house within the Venue not fairly nearly as good because the others.
You can inform a few of this compromise has been made to present it a sensibly sized 350-litre boot, which is about the identical as you get within the Nexon and the EcoSport, though the Hyundai and Tata’s baggage areas are higher formed than the Ford’s, which is tall and slender. This is the place the Mahindra takes an enormous hit, as its 257-litre boot is sort of 100 litres down on the others.
Feel Good Inc.
The Venue’s dashboard is modern Hyundai, with a wise new steering wheel and an ergonomically pleasant design. The touchscreen is at peak and the controls fall simply at hand, and there’s loads of storage round as properly. Quality is admittedly good and it’s a detailed match between it and the XUV300 on this entrance. The Mahindra’s, nonetheless, isn’t probably the most cohesive inside design, not simply in its look – which is a mishmash of colors and shapes – but additionally in its performance; some controls, particularly on the centre console, aren’t the place you’d anticipate. Still, it’s sensible on the storage-bay entrance. The Ford EcoSport is sensible too, particularly with the revisions that got here in 2017, just like the closed field between the seats that works as an arm-rest. The design was closely up to date too, and high quality isn’t unhealthy, however one can find just a few laborious, scratchy bits, and it’s beginning to present its age. The Nexon dashboard seems neat and modern, with some fascinating textured plastics that lend it a wealthy really feel. But elsewhere you’ll discover plenty of tough edges and flimsy switchgear. Moreover, the door bins are actually small and even the centre storage bay is simply too slender and deep to be sensible.
The Venue’s cabin has high quality, practicality and good ergonomics.
Each of those vehicles will get the fundamentals proper relating to gear (for an exhaustive breakdown, seek advice from the comparison chart), with every having at the least one distinctive characteristic. For the Tata Nexon, it’s these driving modes, which allow you to tailor the car a bit higher to fit your wants. However, that apart, the Tata lags behind the others, lacking out on some essential options. The Venue and XUV300 are those that actually push the boundaries of equipment, and other than the fundamentals you’d anticipate, they provide some nice feel-good options. The Hyundai will get related tech through an embedded e-SIM, which opens up plenty of new methods to work together together with your car, and it additionally will get a wi-fi cell phone charger. The Mahindra, then again, will get steering modes, dual-zone local weather management, heated wing mirrors and tyre-pressure monitoring. The EcoSport is a bit complicated because of the variety of occasions Ford has revised its mannequin vary not too long ago. Our take a look at car is a Titanium, however this 1.5 petrol-manual has since been made obtainable in Titanium+ as properly, so that is the one we’ll contemplate. What’s actually disappointing is Ford’s resolution to not provide its sensible Sync Three infotainment unit (and with it, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto) for the 1.5 petrol; it’s solely obtainable on the S variant, with the diesel or EcoEnhance engines. The lower-spec touchscreen obtainable right here capabilities easily however misses many options. The EcoSport nonetheless will get six airbags although, as does the Venue, and the XUV300 even presents a seventh. The Nexon makes do with simply two, nevertheless it’s geared up with the clout of a five-star Global NCAP crash-test score. None of the others have been examined by Global NCAP but, however the EcoSport and SsangYong Tivoli (on which the XUV300 relies) scored 4 stars within the extra stringent Euro NCAP assessments. The Venue is but to be crash-tested.
XUV300 cabin presents most house and high quality is nice as properly.

All the car you’ll ever want
That does sum every of those 4 up fairly properly, doesn’t it? They’re compact, inexpensive, economical and straightforward to make use of, but they’re spacious, snug, enjoyable to drive, properly geared up and may deal with unhealthy roads higher than a sedan or hatchback. Eliminating any of those isn’t any simple activity, as all of them have one thing going for them. The Nexon, as at all times, performs the value card, with even this top-spec model costing simply Rs 9.39 lakh. For that cash, it delivers an outstanding journey and dealing with steadiness and a stunning quantity of house. But you too can see the place the cash’s been saved – it’s bought an gear checklist that falls shy of the others, a decrease stage of inside match and end, and a petroleum engine that must be loads smoother.
After you’ve wrapped your head round Ford’s numerous mannequin rejigs, the EcoSport 1.5 MT Titanium+ at Rs 9.99 lakh looks like even higher worth. This value is partly since you’ve opted for the ‘lesser’ of the EcoSport’s two petrol engines, however frankly, it doesn’t really feel that method once you’re driving. In truth, the 1.5 Dragon feels loads friendlier to drive (other than the gearshift), to not point out extra environment friendly. It’s additionally one of the best handler of the bunch with a journey that’s not too unhealthy, however sadly, it’s beginning to really feel its age, and the rear-seat expertise can’t fairly match up.
The XUV300 is a car filled with superlatives – probably the most torque, one of the best refinement, the longest gear checklist, probably the most spacious cabin. And even when it isn’t class-leading, it’s near one of the best. That small boot could also be inexcusable to some, and I want it was a bit of bit sharper on the dynamics entrance, however that apart, it appears to do nearly every thing proper. But, on this price-sensitive a part of the market, is all this price Rs 11.64 lakh – or Rs 1 lakh greater than the subsequent costliest car right here?
And that’s once you realise Hyundai has as soon as once more pulled the identical trick it has been pulling because the authentic Santro. At a value that’s a slight premium (Rs 10.60 lakh on this case), however not exorbitant, it excessive on feel-good components. That comes within the type of inside design and high quality, a complete gear checklist with just a few section firsts, and a refined engine. Although, on this car, it simply so occurs to ship the strongest efficiency too. The compact again seat, which looks like a compromise made to distance it from the Creta, and a journey that may at occasions really feel a bit fidgety are actually the one downsides in an in any other case deftly balanced package deal. And that’s why the Venue wins this take a look at.

http://tinyurl.com/y6trle8w Western Digital started a serious push into the SSD market in 2016. The corporate recognised that customers have been transferring away from spinning laborious drives however that the WD model was nonetheless very extremely regarded amongst PC lovers and DIY builders. The corporate bought SanDisk to leverage its experience in flash storage, and has loved some success although competitors is fierce. The WD Inexperienced, Blue, and Black laborious drive efficiency tiers have been translated to the SSD market, forming a household of entry-level, mainstream, and enthusiast-grade merchandise. Not all of them have been hits, however the firm has saved bettering. We’re reviewing WD’s third-generation Black SSD, which is known as the WD Black SN750. That is the corporate’s newest providing for the high-end gaming and fanatic market. This mannequin was launched internationally in January, although it has only just been launched officially in India. With costs having fallen drastically this previous yr, SSDs are extra engaging than ever, and even high-end, high-capacity fashions are usually not out of attain. Let’s examine if WD can tackle the may of Samsung, Kingston, Adata, and the opposite gamers within the Indian market. WD Black SN750 design Design is not often one thing that we have to discuss with an SSD, particularly high-end ones that at the moment are almost completely offered as tiny M.2 modules. Nevertheless what we see on this case is that WD is actually taking part in up its model identification, and all the things from the packaging to the labels to the product itself may be very slick. Whereas M.2 modules are tiny and laborious to customize, the WD Black SN750 is offered with and with out a pre-attached heatsink. We’re reviewing the model with the heatsink, and that is the place WD has had the prospect to precise itself. The system as an entire is surprisingly chunky, with the circuit board fully encased in steel. The diagonal ridged sample matches what we’ve seen on previous WD products and appears very high-end. It is anodized black however the ideas of the ridges are bevelled off, exposing contrasting uncooked steel which catches the sunshine at sure angles. This can be a shocking quantity of consideration to element for a part that may very doubtless be hidden away for everything of its helpful life. The heatsink has been designed in affiliation with EK Water Blocks, an organization well-known in fanatic circles for its high-end after-market liquid cooling options. WD says it lets the SSD maintain its excessive learn and write speeds for longer, and factors out that that is significantly essential for avid gamers as sport sizes hold ballooning. In the event you’re shopping for this model of the WD Black SN750, you need to verify very fastidiously whether or not it’ll slot in your PC. A number of high-end motherboards have their very own M.2 slot heatsinks, or haven’t got a lot Z-height clearance. The unit is 8.1mm thick, versus 2.38mm for traditional M.2 SSDs, so it positively is not an possibility for upgrading a laptop computer with. WD says it doesn’t advocate separating the drive and heatsink. After we put in the drive in our test bench’s primary M.2 slot, we discovered that our double-wide graphics card was resting on high of it. This clearly is not splendid for airflow and warmth dissipation. WD has revealed a list on its website of six motherboards that this SSD won’t match into and one other 19 that might want to have their very own heatsinks eliminated.   WD Black SN750 specs and options The brand new WD Black SN750 SSD has been launched in capacities starting from 250GB to 2TB, and all however the 250GB model may also be out there with the heatsink. It makes use of 4 PCIe 3.zero lanes, which is the present commonplace, however lovers will need to regulate PCIe 4.zero SSDs which have already been demonstrated and can start transport this yr. WD has used its personal 64-layer 3D NAND and a controller developed in-house, but it surely would not present any details about these. As for the standard metrics, WD’s rated sequential learn and write speeds begin at 3100MBps and 1600MBps respectively for the 250GB model and vary as much as 3,470MBps and and 3000MBps respectively for the 1TB model. The rated speeds for the 2TB model are barely decrease, which is uncommon. Endurance, measured in Terabytes Written (TBW), scales from 200TBW for the 250GB mannequin to 1200 for the 2TB one. There isn’t any point out of drive encryption within the official spec sheet, which is unlucky. The guarantee is 5 years. One other characteristic that tells us precisely who this product is geared toward is the Gamer Mode in WD’s SSD Dashboard software program. On this mode, energy saving options are disabled in order that there is not any drop in efficiency. WD affords patrons a free copy of Acronis True Picture, however oddly there is not any point out or signal of it on the product’s web site or packaging.   WD Black SN750 efficiency For this assessment, we’ve the 1TB model of the WD Black SN750 with the heatsink. We must always notice that this model is the very best performing of all its siblings. The efficiency scores beneath don’t apply to different capacities, and the heatsink might affect sustained efficiency so the bare 1TB model may carry out somewhat in another way as properly. We’re utilizing our common {hardware} check bench, consisting of an AMD Ryzen 7 2700X CPU, Gigabyte Aorus X470 Gaming 7 Wifi motherboard, 2x8GB of G.talent DDR4 RAM, a 1TB Samsung SSD 860 Evo boot drive, XFX Radeon R9 380X graphics card, and Corsair RM650 energy provide. Assessments have been run utilizing Home windows 10 (1803). Apparently, our Gigabyte motherboard is likely one of the fashions listed as “partial match” by WD. This mannequin has small heatsinks over every M.2 slot that are simple to take away. We observed the Asus Maximus XI Extreme, which we have used earlier than, listed as “doesn’t match”. This board has a much more elaborate multi-slot heatsink with built-in lighting results, and you may’t simply go away it off. We start our benchmarking course of with CrystalDiskMark 6. We measured sequential learn and write speeds of 3414.3MBps and 3018.8MBps respectively, at a queue depth of 32. This totally saturates the drive and exhibits off its theoretical most efficiency. These numbers line up with WD’s claims, however the random learn and write speeds of 278MBps and 183.3MBps are extra consultant of real-world efficiency. Subsequent, the Anvil benchmark gave us 5,995.02 factors for reads and 6,688.75 factors for writes. The general rating in its complete check was 12,643.77. What we see right here is an efficient stability between learn and write efficiency. The brand new WD Black SN750 is an incremental enchancment over its predecessor, the WD Black NVMe SSD (2018), and trades blows with the Samsung SSD 970 Evo Plus. WD’s SSD Dashboard software program has a particular black pores and skin for the brand new WD Black SN750 SSD. It exhibits the drive’s free capability, diagnostics, and temperature. There is a real-time efficiency monitor and instruments for checking drive well being, erasing it securely, and updating its firmware. Sadly, the software program nonetheless exhibits adverts for different WD merchandise. You may as well get a free copy of Acronis True Picture (WD Version) to again up or clone one drive to a different, which might come in useful when upgrading.   VerdictWD has married design with operate within the WD Black SN750 SSD. Nevertheless, potential patrons ought to completely make sure whether or not their motherboards can deal with the cumbersome heatsink-clad model of this drive. We might additionally counsel ensuring that there is ample airflow over the floor of the heatsink. Efficiency is nice, and patrons can be very happy with this SSD. It is a strong various to the Samsung SSD 970 Evo Plus, but when you will discover the previous-gen WD Black NVMe SSD at a superb worth, you need to positively think about it as properly. Talking of worth, WD has solely simply formally launched the 1TB WD Black SN750 SSD with heatsink for an insane Rs. 50,000 (the MRP printed on the field), but it surely has been out there on the market for a while now at a way more affordable Rs. 23,199. WD formally factors patrons to Amazon.in, where it is listed for Rs. 29,490. It’s best to positively not be paying greater than this. The 1TB mannequin with out the heatsink goes for Rs. 21,500 or Rs. 23,999 on Amazon.in. These costs are decrease than what the equal previous-gen 1TB WD Black NVMe SSD was promoting for after we reviewed it in January this yr. We count on SSD costs to proceed to fall all of this yr, so 1TB is not too costly for lovers anymore. Costs (MOP): 250GB: Rs. 6,929500GB: Rs. 9,999500GB with heatsink: Rs. 15,9991TB: Rs. 23,9991TB with heatsink: Rs. 29,4902TB with heatsink: Rs. 51,999 Execs Wonderful all-round efficiency Helpful bundled software program Affordable road worth 5-year guarantee Cons No {hardware} encryption Heatsink too cumbersome for some motherboards Rankings (out of 5) Efficiency: 4.5 Worth for Cash: 4 General: 4.5 Affiliate hyperlinks could also be mechanically generated – see our ethics statement for particulars. A 3.5-Year Review of the $4K Leica Q
If there’s a fundamental flaw with product reviews, it’s the typically short duration that reviewers have with the item before hitting a publishing deadline or needing to return the product to the manufacturer. With rapid product refreshes, the lifetime of any particular product can be short, which can often render longer evaluations as impractical.
youtube
But as technologies mature, consumers are decreasing the rate at which they upgrade their products. In digital photography, both lenses and camera bodies produced in the past few years are still going strong. Is it nice to have 48MP? 100MP? Sure, but for many applications, 24MP does the job just fine.
The Leica Q2 (left) alongside the original Leica Q (right). Photo by Allen Murabayashi
I say this with partial irony as I’ve just upgraded to a Leica Q2 after having owned a Leica Q for 3.5 years. But my Leica Q is still an amazing camera, and given that there are many good deals on this camera to be found, I thought it would be a good time to re-review the camera after using it for 40 months and taking over 60,000 photos as it traveled with me to 19 countries.
I ordered my Leica Q on June 20, 2015, and took delivery of it in September of that year. As a replacement for an aging and well-worn Sony RX1, the increase in size and weight was noticeable, but it still fit my criteria for a full-frame, compact travel camera.
The Leica Q’s 28mm lens has the same field-of-view as most smartphones. Photo by Allen Murabayashi
Pros
Lens
The Q features a 28mm f/1.7 lens – a curious choice to many people. Why not the more typical 35mm FOV of street photography? And in truth, the lens did feel very wide initially. But the FOV is the same as many smartphones including the iPhone and Google Pixel, so over time, 28mm has become a very comfortable way of seeing for many people.

Modern lens design has moved away from having a physical aperture ring – choosing instead to use dials on the camera body, for better or worse. But the Q retains an aperture ring with 1/3 stop control that I use frequently.
The macro mode is a neat little trick that gives you a little more flexibility for those food photographs. No one will mistake the focal length for a portrait lens, but it’s still capable of taking some nice environmental portraits.
Image Quality
The image quality has always been impressive to me. The camera’s DNGs have a built-in profile, so you can’t see what software adjustments are being made to lens defects while using a program like Adobe Lightroom unless you use a program like RAW Digger.
At 28mm, the fixed focal length camera isn’t explicitly design for portraits, but it’s more than capable under the right circumstances. Photo by Allen Murabayashi
The inconspicuous size of the Leica Q makes it a perfect street photography camera. Photo by Allen Murabayashi

Autofocus
The Achilles heel of the Sony RX1 was the low light focusing – even in the updated versions. By contrast, the Q’s autofocus is crisp and works surprisingly well in low light despite having a contrast detection system. Using manual focusing automatically throws the EVF into a magnified mode with focus peaking turned on. The focusing mechanism is silky smooth and manual focusing is unusually easy.
Quiet Operation
Taking photos is SILENT, unlike mirrorless cameras like the Nikon Z7, which still has an audible shutter sound. It’s hard to explain how differently people react when they don’t hear a shutter sound. Using the camera becomes a liberating process.
The Leica Q’s 24MP sensor is more than enough for most situations. Photo by Allen Murabayashi
Size
It’s not as small as some other options, but for me, the camera hits the perfect intersection of size and image quality. At 640g, it’s noticeably heavier than the Sony RX1R II (507g) or the Fuji X100F (469g), but it’s still significantly lighter than any full-frame DSLR or ILP system with a comparable lens.

Cons
Dust
Within the first few months of ownership, dust started to appear on my sensor. Early production models had poor sealing with dust allegedly entered through the microphone and speaker ports on the camera. I shipped the camera back to Leica and after 2 months, they shipped back a brand new camera!
The Leica Q sensor accumulated an unusable amount of dust which required sending the camera back to Leica for cleaning. Photo by Allen Murabayashi
Although the replacement unit seemed to mitigate the dust problem, it didn’t eliminate it. A year and a half later, I sent the unit back for a sensor cleaning, then promptly taped up with speaker and mic ports with gaffer’s tape. I haven’t had an issue since.
The new Q2 features an IP52 rating which means it’s “Protected from limited dust ingress” – perhaps not the IP67 or IP68 rating we’ve seen from the most recent crop of smartphones, but I’ll take whatever improvement in protection I can get.
Diopter
The Q’s built-in diopter has no locking mechanism, unlike many DSLRs, which require the user to pull out a knob to adjust. Even though the mechanism lies fairly flat against the body, I still found an annoying tendency for it to spin while the camera was hung across my body.
The Leica Q’s diopter adjustment lacks a locking feature and is prone to inadvertent movement. Photo by Allen Murabayashi
Battery Life
Compact cameras always get dinged for poor battery life, and the Q is no exception. On the one hand, it seems reasonable to expect a $4,000 camera (at the time I purchased it) to have decent battery life. On the other hand, a smartphone can barely last a day.
Carrying multiple batteries in my pocket was necessary to overcome the limited battery life. Photo by Allen Murabayshi
Power Button
In my humble opinion, a power button/switch should fulfill a single function. As with some past camera designs, the Leica Q intermixes the single and continuous shooting mode functions into the power switch. Because of the poor battery life, I’ve always shut the camera off between taking photos, which means even more opportunities to inadvertently throw the camera into continuous mode. The problem is minor compared to the more consequential diopter issue, but it’s annoying nevertheless.
The mixing of function (power + shooting mode) led to many unwanted frames. Photo by Allen Murabayashi
Software
Until September 2018, the Leica Q had its own dedicated app – a WiFi-based, power-hungry app that allowed you to both remotely control and download JPGs from the camera. It worked reliably, if not slowly, and has now been replaced with Leica Fotos, a single app that services all Leica cameras.
On one hand, the number of steps that it takes to transmit a photo from camera to phone seems unacceptable in today’s mobile economy (and nearly every camera manufacturer has this problem). On the other hand, I enjoy untethering myself from the constant need to post to social media – instead, focusing on watching and taking more photos.
Conclusion
If one measure of a good camera, is the one you’re inclined to carry with you, the Leica Q fits the bill. For those who want more fine-tuned control, better low light performance and higher image quality than a smartphone, a dedicated camera is the only way to go. Yet size and weight can be a strong disincentive. Happily, this hasn’t been the case with the Leica Q, and if Leica waited another few years before releasing the Q2, I have no doubt that I would have continued to strap the Q around my neck.
How many photos would you miss because your camera isn’t convenient. Photo by Allen Murabayashi
In many ways, the Leica Q has been one of the best cameras (if not the best) camera I’ve owned. Its inability to change lenses has often been a benefit rather than a crutch (granted, it isn’t the appropriate choice for every type of photography). And while it may not be as durable or “pro” as some of my DSLRs, I’m confident that I wouldn’t have captured as many moments of my life without it because the alternative was too heavy and bulky.
Is the Leica Q worth the premium price? I’ve owned a lot of cameras and lenses at various price points that rarely make it out of the camera bag. In a sense, the best gear for me is the one that inspires and encourages me to take photos. The Q has been a trusty companion with or without the red badge.
