pretty sure none of the people following this blog are fishkeeping people but like look how cool all of these dudes are. all relatively peaceful and afaik all from roughly the same region/biome so you could keep them all together and it’d be a fairly accurate and peaceable little recreation of nature

#some people don't get the appeal of aquariums and yeah if you're just looking for a cheap easy pet fish aren't that #but imo a well-kept aquarium is simultaneously like a garden and a tiny zoo exhibit #ideal setup would be big blackwater tank w a lot of surface plants and schools of at least 5-10 of each top row species #(corydoras adolfoi/adolfo's cory; lemon tetra; and marbled hatchetfish respectively)#pair of rams (bottom left)#and w a big enough tank (bc they grow to like 8" each) a farlowella catfish (the long boy on the bottom right)
