i love ash and honestly glad they retired his ass but i still dont like that they dont focus on the game mc at all but rather these two new mascot like characters
#z rambles#yeah im bitter about calem mistreatment#i wish they had taken this route instead of those two#but i do think they might see it as kinda repetitive to redo the same journey in both games manga and anime so ig?#but im not the targeted audience and nor do i watch anime so i guess i cant really add my two cents in this argument#also i feel like it always focuses on ash which is understandable hes the MAIN character#but idk i just dont like it cuz it seem the characters in the franchise just dont get equal or half amount of time to speak their story#so i hope the next one isnt much on those two but a lot more on our rivals and characters we battled#but once again. NOT the targeted audience so

3.this one manga/webcomic idea
bassically its about this like, videogame/anime/cartoons/generalweebness/etc/shop/cafe/library
like you can get pastires or snacks and drinks and hang out there and play videogames or read manga and watch anime, and they also sell merchandise related to those
and the shop owner is this girl right here!
her name is chari (pronouned like cherry)
she's very shy and she opened the shop to be somewhere people can hang out, make friends, and feel like they can be themselves, however Chari didn't trust herself to convey the welcoming positive energy that she wanted, nor handle talking to visitors, so she built a robot to help her: this robot is casette!
cassettes purpose is to keep up the welcoming positive aura of the shop and assist visitors, this includes her gigantic database on information related to varius media as well as fandom culture, they can find anything at the shop in seconds, recomend visitors new games/anime/etc, and her database is updated frequently, she also has a visitor database, where she can store information on everyone's preferences and behaviors, their very much a learning ai, so essentially Cassette's experiences will build onto his personality as well as knowledge, Cassette's base personality was developed by picking traits that would be required for her job (passionate, friendly, optimistic etc) than having like, a pool of other traits that are common for the shops target audiences to have and randomizing some to be selected as part of his base personality
bassically the story is just slice of life focused on fandom culture, i guess like overcoming shyness/social anxiety?? like making friends and surronding yourself in a positive and healthy enviorment, with cassette learning more from their expieriances helping visitors and evvuentually kinda helping for chari to build up her confidence, (which was outside of cassettes initial purpose)
and the shop exists in this weird dimension so visitors come from many different worlds and planets,
i dont know what id call it yet but itd be in comic format with a manga inspired art style~
heres some characters that will be visitors of the shop
and also more chari art
anyway~ thanks to anybody that read all this :DDDDD ndfkasj feel free to share what your brainrotting over rn in the replies/notes/etc

AND ANOTHER: Ash and Goh?
funnily enough, this was the first anipoke ship i ever really got behind. now there are plenty of others i like, but before i'd been really adamant about not shipping any of them lmao
satogou: ship it
What made you ship it?
prior to journeys, i hadn't watched anipoke since gen 3, due to a mix of not liking ash's voice after veronica taylor left the dub and not liking dawn (being particularly devastated that they were trying to replace best girl may), but i think that this ship might've actually been the reason i picked journeys up, so i guess to some degree i shipped it before i even watched the show. but it was mostly a curiosity about the fact that people were SO insistent they were going to be canon. but i came to like them for other reasons. ash is a weird character because he's simultaneously very mature and developed thanks to being the protagonist of the anime for 20 years and very...not, because he's still written to be a child. in gen 5 and on, i feel like you can kind of see that more than you used to be able to based on how he interacts with his travel companions. i mean, just look at how different his dynamic with serena is compared to, say, even dawn, or his dynamic with clement compared to brock or misty, who both were also gym leaders. he goes from being the mentee to the mentor, in a way he just doesn't have the capability to at the beginning of his journey. i feel that kind of culminates in journeys, where his companion is someone who's kind of well. just like he was when he started his first adventure in kanto. but at the same time, it isn't like there's some big maturity gap between them or something; they both act their age, and they have plenty of opportunities to just go out and have fun adventures. but their dynamic is interesting because the series revolves around ash being back in kanto after all his adventuring, and goh leaving the region for the first time. and interestingly they do this together, and even though goh is the academic type, and spends a lot of time educating others about things, the whole point is that he's learning things from ash. anyway all that is to say i just find it interesting in terms of like, how they reflect each other's personalities and consequently help each other grow. also i just think goh is very fruit-coded
What are your favorite things about the ship?
look my favourite journeys moments are absolutely all the times where goh is like, i hate you ash and then [2 minutes later] me and the bestie. and especially with ash being the kind of person who's like, well ok then lol. moving on! like idk it's just so funny but also Relatable
Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
i mean i would've been really cheesed if they'd kept ash as protagonist and then had him start a new journey with someone other than goh just because im a goh truther but that being SAID, their strongest moments were when they were distanced from each other. it's in those moments where they thought about they'd learned from each other and were able to see it had made them stronger as individuals! so...them going separate ways at the end makes sense, to me. like it was clear from the beginning i think that their story was about coming to grips with the fact that the people who help you find your path aren't always going to be the ones who walk it with you to the end. that doesn't make anything you learned from them less valid, nor does it makes your relationship with them less meaningful. and i mean considering the target age demographic, i'd say it's actually a pretty good message to be sending to the audience
send me a ship
#answered#ask games#i have a lot of opinions but unfortunately theyre not as well-formed as they were a few months ago#when the last few eps were still airing
