Should magically finding a corpse be done using Locate Creature or Locate Object
I am team Locate Object
#context for those not familiar with 5e deep lore#the rules distinguish between creatures and objects#some spells affect only creatures#some only objects#some affect both#the problem is#Jeremy Crawford the lead designer has confirmed that corpses are considered objects not creatures#Revivify is the main low level resurrection spell#revivify states that it affects a “recently dead creature”#so if corpses are objects and not creatures then Revivify cannot target anything at all#and it's a useless spell that does nothing for a 3rd level spell slot#but if corpses are creatures and not objects that results in other weird contradictions#ergo if you don't want to break anything corpses must be simultaneously objects and creatures#this also does break some things but#probably less#maybe#anyway I vote either and also just wanted to bring up my favourite dumb bit of RAW
