#finally saw barbie#and I enjoyed it it was a fun movie#better than oppenheimer#but idk I think it was a tad overhyped#or at least hyped in such a way that I had completely different expectations for what the film would be#(and if you make it superficially woke enough people will forget it's an ad !)#but yeah. it was fun and I'd probably go watch it again if someöne happened to ask me#now a film like tár wasn't as fun but I would absolutely go watch that again even if noöne asked me and I had to go alone#not that I'm trying to make a comparaison or anything tár just happens to be the last good film I watched

ok so this is kinda rambley and a tad venty but uh yeah long post about my mental state lately ig? idk tldr im gonna get sillier c:
ok so this is weird but i think getting all my thoughts out on a post will help me out through this but anyway i think ive had like really bad anxiety i think? about my fics lately. ive found myself being way too scared about what other people might think of them (way more than the usual voice in the back of my head at least) and i think ive been really scared of i guess no one caring, like the only way someone would care about one of my fics is if its this huge professional thing that means something. ive found myself overhyping or underhyping my wips when i shared them with friends, losing confidence in them entirely even if my friends said something nice, like it was always gonna look stupid so long as it wasnt in my head anymore.
i think the reason these feelings are so frustrating is because something as simple as writing fanfic shouldnt give me this much anxiety, to the point where im losing sleep and procrastinating important things over however good i am at writing something silly thats supposed to be for fun. and it hasnt just been about fanfic either, ive been so scared of how people perceive me online, feeling like i always have to type like im some big blog and constantly being scared of what other people think of me, which is the wrong attitude to have in a fandom space. this is supposed to be fun, and it hasnt been, and i want to change that.
ive really been wanting to say something for i think a few months now. ive noticed how much ive felt like i needed to overhype myself, and just how bad my confidence has been destroyed. theres been a person in my life for a while now that i havent been distancing myself from as much as i should have been, but now i want to try and work on finding ways to enjoy fandom spaces again. im tired of being scared of being expressive and enjoying myself.
im going to start writing more fics that i just enjoy, fucking around and just having fun, and I’ve been starting to doodle a little bit too c: i dont mean to make a post to like say anything big i guess i just kinda wanted to air out my thoughts a little bit (and i do have to admit it feels amazing to just get this all off my chest) but i guess if you read all this i wanna say i love you and i want you to do something good for your mental health today because its so hard to recognize when something is hurting you and even harder to try and fix it especially when it feels impossible but I believe in you and I love you :3
#pulling a classic tumblr blogger and liveblogging my mental downfall and upfall but uh yeah c:#I’m starting to do better I’m working on it c:

I don’t get the Barbie Oscars hype. Its message was great, but it wasn’t the greatest acted movie by any means. Some of the MCU movies had better acting and were better movies overall.
Yea, like don't get me wrong...I like Barbie! 😁 I really did! It was a cultural phenomenon, and I didn't realize it was going to make THAT much money, and be a popular as it was (even among men!). 👏🏾
Butttt.... Idk...I kinda think it was getting to be a little overhyped in a way? 🫣 (nobody shoot me please! 🙏🏾)
"Barbie" will probably still be nominated for Oscars (and deservedly so) for categories such as set design, costumes, music, and maybe even Best Director and Best Picture? But imo, it shouldn't receive any acting nods... not with THIS year's competition.
And Ryan Gosling being nominated for a Golden Globe last night for playing Ken was a huge joke I'm sorry lol 😆 Even he probably felt like it was a joke lol.
Don't get me wrong, Ryan was REALLY GOOD in "Barbie", and did an amazing job! He almost stole the show from Margot lol 😆 But to me, it just wasn't THAT great to garner a nomination.... not with this year's competition. But maybe that's just me. 🤷🏾♀️
I respect Greta though, and I love the cultural phenomenon that the movie was. As a HUGE Barbie Girl growing up myself, I loved seeing my favorite doll come to life on the big screen. 😁
But I still can't help but feel like it was a tad overhyped, and that had the cast makeup been different, it wouldn't have received as much hype as it did.

Choosing violence ❤ number 7, 20 & 21?
7. what character did you begin to hate not because of canon but because how how the fandom acts about them? okay so i already answered this question here, but rereading my answer there made me remember that there is yet more violence within my heart. before i start, a disclaimer: i cannot remember for the life of me if you also mass effect, so if you do not, apologies in advance for going on a rant for which you have limited context. that being said, the first character that immediately comes to mind is reyes vidal. andromeda fandom was only even really active for like, three months, but the amount of flare ups that happened that were centered on this one man...! who i will admit is quite fascinating, not that you would know it given the way most of his fanbase acted. because god forbid anybody characterise this man, who styles himself as the charlatan, who canonically tricks Ryder into doing his dirty work, be portrayed as maybe a tad manipulative or having goals that are a little bigger than banging his girlfriend. oh yeah. i said it. it was, for the most part, the femeryder fanbase I witnessed acting atrociously; while there were some wild takes on the mreyder side as well (like people saying that nobody should romance reyes with their female ryders), for the most part it was really justified salt due to the lack of mlm romance options compared to all other combinations. but the femryder side? they were eating their own, getting embroiled in popularity contests only one side knew they were even competing in, and it was a whole shitshow!!! anyway, as i said. fascinating character, would love to rotate him in my brain a bit, but sometimes recalling his existence makes me want to chew glass. maybe now that enough time has passed i should do a proper me:a replay and rewire some happier memories over those shit ones. (the funniest(?) part of this was that i was never really a reyder shipper--i was happily hanging out in my rydam corner--but seeing the way some of my friends were treated made me wary of bioware fandom for years to come lol. and yet did i learn? no.) 20. part of canon you found tedious or boring answered here! i have no backup answer for this one alas, i suppose my dragon age hot take is that i actually enjoy most of it 😔 21. part of canon you think is overhyped the ending of here lies the abyss! it's not exactly the canon moment itself, but rather the fandom reaction to it? people often treat it as a big dramatic moment of omg having to choose, but i don't know if it's because I'm a fan of Blorbo Suffering™, or I'm not convinced that whoever remained in the Fade is actually dead (can anybody in thedas truly be killed in a way that matters?), but idk. I just don't find it as emotionally impactful as other Big Decision moments in the series I suppose! (e.g., the Landsmeet, Anders's fate-- they always have me holding my breath, at the very least!) [choose violence ask game]
#asha answers#fergus-cousland#thank you for the asks!!#i hope my rants were at least somewhat entertaining

For the ask game 003 Hunter and 002 Huntlow
Alrighty. Hunter:
How I feel about this character: The boy makes me happy and I want good things for him
Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: mmmmm I like Willow obvs but also. lowkey. Jerbo. I know I said I don't have crackships and I DON'T they spoke dialogue with each other and I think the dynamic would be funny okay bye.
My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: Amity. They're besties I swear
My unpopular opinion about this character: uh idk I do think he's a tad overhyped.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: He gets a break ghfdkjgsfdlgfds
Favorite friendship for this character: Luz!!!!
My crossover ship: Nope.
Aaaand Huntlow:
When I started shipping them: After Any Sport in a Storm. I was excited for their dynamic beforehand but I didn't think I was going to ship it romantically.
My thoughts: They're fun :)
What makes me happy about them: Hunter is very funny with his big crush
What makes me sad about them: I guess there's a lot of controversy about them??? Which is lowkey ridiculous if you ask me. Tag correctly and let people have opinions and also don't be unnecessarily rude.
Things done in fanfic that annoys me: NEED MORE EMPHASIS ON WILLOW !!!!!!
Things I look for in fanfic: More emphasis on Willow.
My wishlist: Don't really have one. I like the way it's going in canon.
Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: Jerbo for Hunter, Amity and/or Luz for Willow.
My happily ever after for them: uhhh idk they're not a ship I actively Need together by the end of the show, so....? Just them staying interacting with each other? That's about it yeah .

In retrospect, Multiverse of Madness was a tad overhyped, at least for me [spoilers below the cut.]
For starters, the title? Somewhat misleading. Technically the multiverse is involved, but we only ever go to two different universes and the Gap Junction, plus that brief sequence where America and strange are warping to 838 with all those other dimensions. Maybe me wanting to go to more universes is just me getting my hopes up? Idk. Plus we don't really deal with actual multiversal ramifications until the movie is technically over, when we learn Strange caused an incursion in the mid-credits scene.
OK, so titles and expectations aside, the movie overall was... mid, I think? It had its moments, no doubt, but I just wasn't feeling it. That's fine of course, but it kinda killed my vibe while watching the film. I don't regret watching it, but I won't be going out of my way to rewatch it, y'know?
All that said, I did have a few favorite moments:
The multiverse montage when they're traveling to Earth-838.
Everything involving the 838 Illuminati.
Zombie Strange overall is kinda ??? for me, but him using the souls of the damned as a cloak? 💯
Honorable mention to the post-credit scene. It didn't get me to laugh, but something about the cheekiness of the fourth wall break made me smile a bit.

honestly? mcu is a tad overhyped, like i get that people love the characters, and they are well cast, buuuut the storylines and shitz really ain't that good, and certain characters are underdeveloped, and the last three movies were unnecessary at this stage in the universe, oh yeah and civil war is supposed to be a captain america movie, bitch where and how
lmfao a tad?? some people are putting it up there with the likes of the godfather.
i get that people are dedicated to these movies, and i’m glad that we’re getting more and more superhero films that don’t focus on the same 4-5 people every time, but if we’re being 1000% honest here, people like to set the mcu as the gold standard when it comes to making a comic book movie when, in reality, there is not one way to make a comic book movie. why do you think some of these people feel the need to attack every non-mcu superhero film in recent years? hell, even the fox x-men films aren’t safe, despite the fact that they’re marvel films.
as for the components of the universe that you mentioned………like…..yeah wtf?? like, it’s wild to me how a company with over $20 billion in the bank still manages to cgi the most random shit. they could have kept peter’s suit practical like it was in the previous spidey films, but since he’s t*ny’s protégé and that he has to get his tech and stuff from him, they go and cgi the suit as well. which….i don’t really get because the practical version is fine the way it is. and that’s just an issue with cgi. don’t get me started on their need to prioritize comedic relief over character development, but some people are apparently not ready for that conversation.
and when i first watched civil war, tbh, i didn’t mind it that much (i thought there was something about it that didn’t click for me, but i didn’t hate it, either), but you’re right. it’s basically avengers 2.5 disguised as a third cap film. like, half of the people who showed up in that film technically didn’t need to be there (w/some exceptions like black panther, spidey, natasha, sam, and maybe war machine but that’s a big maybe idk; i gotta rewatch it again because my thoughts might change). just focus on developing steve’s arc.
#anon#answered#i've said this so many times since i've exposed myself to the mcu#but tws (and bp obviously) is their best film#i'm not the biggest cap fan but that film was unmatched#and bp means a lot to me for personal reasons#but other than that idk#i'm just having a hard time connecting with this universe so far that's all#Anonymous

okay so i went off
no no dw moas aren't all bad. definitely wont compare them to engenes. but they can get a tad bit overprotective of the boys.
but in weird ways. i think the most evident ones would be-
1. the 'it boy' title for yeonjun - it was kind of "claimed" by moas. cmiw but moas one day decided to call him that and kind of stuck with it. so if any other bg stans bought it up they would just shit on the group. they basically would gatekeep on the title. if im not mistaken juyeon is one of the first 4th gen idols to get the 'it boy' title from the korean public, but (international) moas just took up the title for yeonjun. idk it just annoys me a bit.
2. tae as a main vocalist - okay so most big fandoms in general are notorious for overhyping their favs a lot. (my ults are skz but i physically cringe every time i hear people refer to seungmin as one of the best vocalists of 4th gen, cuz he is no where close)
the thing with tae is tho he's the best vocalist in txt compared to other main vocals he lacks a lot skill vice. so every time stans point out tae's poor technique, this is usually as an observation or out of concern. the concern is because he strains his voice a LOT, this is a very bad technique as in the long run it damages your voice. moas usually hate on them and attack them. and tae doesn't make it to a content creators list of best vocalists or whatever they will go ham in the comments :(
(but on a very serious note he really needs a good vocal coach ASAP, i cannot watch this kid ruin his own voice)
sorry if i went off :(
- 🍉
oh i see!! i try to stay away from fanwars so that’s probably why i’ve never heard of this stuff (i’ve actually heard of the yeonjun thing, but i thought it was silly so i just kinda disregarded it 😭😭)
i just don’t see why people constantly feel the need to compare groups 🤷♀️ it’s all so subjective it doesn’t matter who one person thinks “the best” is ya feel?? like as long as you like your group and you’re doing your thing everybody gets to be happy
