☆ Pairing: Loki x Reader

☆ Synopsis: Loki and you have a date for pumpkin carving date for your first halloween together. But Loki's impatience and your indecivcess prove to cause a very fun distraction.

☆ Word Count: 1,439

☆ Notes: Loki is cheeky ler and both tease each other. I ended up more busy than I thought so it's shorter than I intended. I'm so sorry request nonny! By the way @lokifan2 also got this prompt request and did a fic for it so you all get two fics!

☆ Warnings: Short. Reader with anxiety-indecisiveness, mutual teasing, I guess... I don't know anything about pumpkin carving so I probably made mistakes.

Pumpkin Spiced Laughter

“Love please, we’ve been here for hours…” Loki begged. “It took you long enough choosing a pumpkin.”

“I know… I’m sorry, I’m sorry… I just want it to be perfect…!” you apologized.

Loki should be too surprised. He knew what he was in for when he asked you to date him.

After all, the second that question left his lips you looked like a deer in headlights, a million futures flashing though your head. He had been a villain, but he was so sweet, but he was a player, not that he ever treated you like a casual conquest, but he could grow bored of you, or you could grow old together and be happy.

It had its perks, dating someone so indecisive. You always showered him with little gifts because you could choose what you liked better for him. You were profoundly perfectionist to handmade gifts were as good as anything store-bought. It always meant you could always have an option for the next date when you chose the other one, which also meant there were certain next dates. Not to mention you always chose the most gorgeous outfits, even if it meant preparing from early on so you wouldn’t be late.

Not that Loki didn’t worry about it, and you had been doing better. The hours of dressing up became just one, the cascade of gifts turned to just one or two, and soon you found date ideas you liked better.

But still, on days like this, the old anxiety bug bites you and you’d take eons to decide. What started as a simple pumpkin carving date became a torture session to the impatient young god.

“Isn’t this one two small?” you had asked.

“It’s lovely, darling” Loki assured you as you looked at the pile of pumpkins you were going to choose. “But you can choose another one.”

“I don’t like the stain it had here” you pointed out.

“Alright… just pick another one.” Loki said, trying to remain calm.

“This one is shaped here like a cashew…” you whined and picked another one. “And this one has a sick color.”

“Darling…” Loki sighed after the first hour. “My legs are sore… the sun is making me dizzy and I’m getting hungry…”

“Sorry, sorry. I just want a good pumpkin” you apologized sweetly, and Loki regretted complaining.

“I know… sorry.” He sighed. “I’ll go wait in the shade; I can’t stand the heat.”

“Okay, I’ll catch up to you soon, popsicle” you promised.

Surely you took way too long to choose, but at least he took some cold drink and used the fan on your backpack to cool down.

“Hi, love, I found my pumpkin” you smiled proudly.

Loki wanted to point out that it was the “too small” pumpkin. But you paid and finally you got to get home.

“I can’t wait for the temperature to go down…” Loki sighed.

“Are you kidding?! It’s freezing” you whined.

“Not for me, love I’m sorry” he sighed. “I always thought I was weird, never imagined Frost Giant level weird.”

“I think you’re perfect just the way you are” you smiled. “I adore you.”

“Do you already know what you’re gonna carve on it?” Loki asked, knowing he already knew what he’d do, after all he was a master with his dagger.

“I’m not sure…” you admitted.

��Darling…!” Loki scolded you.

“I’m sorry, I want it to be special!” you whined. “It’s out first Halloween together, I want it to be memorable!”

“Love, at this pace it’ll be a Christmas jack-o-lantern…” Loki tried joking to keep his concerns light-hearted.

Still, Loki tried being proactive by helping you brainstorm. Scary faces were gruesome, funny faces weren’t for an important occasion, just shapes were lazy, portraits were too complicated, and it’d be too big of a chance of error.

By the time you arrived home, there was still not a decision made, and Loki sighed.

That’s how he got here. Loki was already done, his pumpkin already beautifully carved with a floral frame at the top and the bottom and all over the middle part with beautiful decorations of moments with you two and a lovely note, proclaiming all his love for you, which earned him “show off” scoffing and teasing. And in retrospect he worried he unintentionally added more pressure on you.

He even offered you to empty scoop up the guts to keep himself busy while you thought about what to do. And still, you didn’t know what to carve.

“I could do a Disney character.” You thought out loud. “But that’s also cliché…”

“Darling, please…” Loki begged. “I can’t believe I’m gonna say the following thing out loud, but I want to go watch a movie and cuddle you…”

You looked at him with a frown, tempted by that option.

“Please baby, I want it to be perfect” you asked.

“That’s it…” Loki huffed and pulled you in his lap.

“Eh?!?” you squeaked.

And before you could ask anything else, Loki’s fingers skittered along your sides.

“Whahahahat?!” you squealed. “Whyhy? Hahahahaha! Stop!”

“Oh dear, just helping to persuade you to make a choice” Loki purred into your ear. “My darling, if I don’t help you, the pumpkin will be rotten before you can even get the first stab in.”

“Nohohohoho! S-Stop! Hahahahaha!” you giggled as Loki kneaded your belly, making you double over in laughter. “This is cruel! Hehehehe!”

“Cruel?” Loki spoke softly, his finger squeezing your waistline and kissing your cheek softly, always wanting to make sure you knew he wasn’t truly upset with you. “My love, this is just motivation for our date activity, if anything I’m helping this date advance. Not to mention this is way more fun than watching you trying to decide.”

“Eheehee!” you squeaked. “Plehehehease! Quit it!”

“Remember when I begged you to choose something and it still took you hours, maybe I’ll take the same time…” he purred into your ear as he spidered up to tickle your ribs.

“Plehehehease! Nohohohoho morehehehehe!” you laughed. “I’m sohohohohorry! I’ll carve something!”

“You promise?” Loki teased.

“Yehehehehes! I promihihihihihise!” you begged. “I cahahan’t! Hahahaha! SNNNRK! Hahaha!”

Loki couldn’t help but burst out laughing at your snort. Anyone from his childhood would think that after years among humans he became insane and unstable. But reality was much simpler, he was just that happy and carefree with you.

No royalty pressure to be perfect and stoic. He could be silly, mischievous, and free without consequence as long as he wasn’t harming others, which became surprisingly easy. Humans were fragile, but a few lessons on human limits and psychological boundaries and Loki was allowed to be a cheeky prankster to his heart’s content. To him, being this joyful was the most logical outcome.

“Oh, my gods!” he laughed, holding you in his arms. “Alright! Hahaha! I think that was enough…”

“Okay, okay…” you smiled, panting and looked at you timidly as you finally caught your breath. “You win… You win…”

“Does that mean that you will please carve something already?” Loki asked with a smile, before his tone turned back to teasing for a second. “Or do I have to persuade you some more~?”

“No… I just…”

“Love, it doesn’t have to be perfect or flashy, it can be a little bit minimalist” he smiled, “even an ordinary design. The point is we do a fun activity together. Doing it together is special enough.”

You smiled at him and looked at your carving knife, playing with it indecisively.

“And if it helps, next year I can teach you to make more elaborate designs if you’re not too confident in your skill” Loki offered, playing with his dagger.

“I think I know what to carve” you smiled. “It’s not too crazy but…”

“It’ll be great” Loki cut you off, so you couldn’t keep feeding your insecurities.

You got to work, and Loki sat nearby, hearing the knife slowly work its magic and after a while, you called for him.

“I think it’s done” you announced.

Loki walked to sit beside you, and you were bouncing with prideful excitement. He couldn’t help but smile, but when you turned your little pumpkin around to reveal the design, he felt his eyes water.

It was simple design of two minimalist yet adorable cartoons of you and him with a heart crossed arrow referencing something he said when he got poetic-drunk… except it was a dagger and the little most lovely expression “1st of hopefully many years full of love and laughter”. He slowly picked up the pumpkin in his arms.

“Do you like it?” you asked softly.

“Darling, it’s perfect…”

Some random observations about romance in astrology.

♍ Virgo Venus- Virgo have an eye for clean aesthetics. Think 'that girl'. Clean girl makeup. Minimalist dress. Can express love in practical ways eg did you eat today? Let me make something for you. Or going out of their way to help you. They may not even be aware that this is an act of love for them because they just do it instinctively. Virgo can be perfectionists too. They hold themselves to such high standards they might do the same to others. They might help you grow and evolve or they might be too critical- even if they see this as an act of love as they just want to help you be your best self and make the relationship its best- but could be nitpicky or fussy. Most likely to get the ick. If they meet someone who passes all their stages of overthinking they can be very devoted. There's a reason they match well with scorpio. Though more grounded and analytical then emotional this can be a good balance. Virgo represented by the maiden also can be misinterpreted. Being an earth sign I think they can be quite sensual once they've selected a partner. They might view sexuality as a basic need for wellbeing and want to embrace it on a regular basis. They can also be too bodily aware, technical or methodical. Maybe too in their heads and they need someone to bring them out of it. They want total loyalty and commitment. Aries - Mia. It seems to me that she is quite firm and stubborn, which is how she got her job as a teacher, and all the children in her lessons clearly sit quietly

She knows how to create a great environment but also maintain discipline

I also think that she is quite active, which should also be present in the teacher

Taurus - Steven. Taurus people are quite patient and resilient, and also practical, which I see in Steven, he seems like a pretty responsible guy

I have a feeling that he is ready for anything in the world, I would trust him with my life

But I think sometimes he is too lazy, no wonder, he has a difficult job

Gemini - Selenne and Elenois. Because they are twins lol

But they are also literally the personification of Gemini as a zodiac sign, because they can be super gloomy and serious and also the life of the party

This animation is about a minute and a half long. I got two voice actors for it (who sound freaking amazing btw ashlandjksm) and I am going to ATTEMPT to make music for it. I'm hoping to have this done before the end of November.

Also can I say how difficult it is to make this? I used the panels of pages I'm animating as reference but for a lot of shots I had to come up with my own ideas for because Hyde monologues too much!? Like I can't keep 20 seconds of monologuing on the frames of green cracks like how it is in the comic. That's just boring! And it is honestly kind of difficult coming up with ideas to fill that time without things seeming repetitive and boring! I'm indecisive! I'm a perfectionist, I want everything to look perfect. Sigh at least this is good animation/storyboard practice. Plus I'm getting close to animating the transformation part which is what I wanted to animate this entire time. Just gotta keep looking on the bright side.

your feigned heartbreak makes him snicker, and keiji has a playful gleam in his eyes when he smiles at you. "yes, i hate you so much. i live with you so i can tell you i hate you as efficiently as possible every morning."

"keiji. me and my mug are breaking up with you."

"yeah? so you like the mug?"

"i—well." he blinks.

then he looks down at the mug—its few wobbly lines and unevenly spaced spots, plus the purple he really thinks should've been blue—before up at you again, a defeated smile on his lips. "yeah, okay. it's a nice mug."

an accomplished smile finds its way to yours. "it's a very nice mug."

"so is yours. or is it mine?"

"mm, ours?"

keiji hums back as he subconsciously reaches for your hand. "you can't stop me from using this one either so, yeah, ours."

Trying to figure out how to keep writing after finishing the October prompt events (behind yes, but catching up steadily). I'm debating making a somewhat flexible schedule? Like, I dunno if I can promise weekly or not because I am indecisive and somewhat perfectionist about my stories. But hey, writing something is something, even if I end up changing it later. Still, I wanted to know if it'd even be worth it, so here's another poll, lol

I'll still make somewhat a schedule for myself no matter what, but I also know from past experience that having others bugging me (friendly, not demanding, of course) to write more has always gotten me to not get into a self-destructive/unmotivated spiral.

YAY thank you for asking! Here's some misc headcanons, mostly about the main three :) Too tired to get into lore right now, but these still probably apply to the Laruta-verse

Mipha read a lot of fantasy growing up (PROJECTION) but Sidon got really into sci-fi and she got into it as a result. I think she would really like The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (and as a sort of introduction to that surreal sort of comedy... I think she would be giggling out loud reading it and as a result develop a slightly indecipherable sense of humour for a 13-year-old (possibly? I haven't been a 13-year-old in ages so I'm a little out of touch lol)) and she would start carrying a towel around in her bag as a nod to that. It would come in useful one time and she would be unbelievably happy about it.

Zelda is the type to cycle through take up a lot of extracurriculars and electives - and then drop them when she can't get anything more out of them. A lot of people think it's because she's indecisive but she just really likes learning and trying new things. This makes her the school admin's worst nightmare!

Zelda and Link have an art class together - Link reads a lot of comics and likes trying to cartoonify things, and Zelda goes as realistic as she possibly can. They're both perfectionists who abuse their eraser privileges. Each of them admire each other's work, though, and they try and make it a priority to work side-by-side on projects.

Dorephan is a language teacher (teaching the Zora language, I don't think it has a name in the games 😬). He speaks some at home with Mipha and Sidon, but Mipha and Sidon aren't exactly fluent becuase they speak more Hylian and regular conversation. They do, however, have enough practice to get a little ahead in classes 😋

Zelda likes paleontology, Link likes history, and Mipha likes biology, so they go on museum trips together (longstanding Link and Mipha tradition but Zelda fits right in). They go completely ham on the interactive expeditions and Mipha gets sucked into the gift shops and ends up with a million socks and t-shirts and pens.

In general I think she's a bit of a hoarder (PROJECTION) and loves collecting little things. Unfortunately they take up a lot of space in her room and she struggles to tidy after a while (... PROJECTION...)

Link only likes sweet things for the sugar hit he gets from them, but he has a select few desserts he actually likes for texture & flavour. He mostly cooks savoury dishes, but sometimes he bakes because he likes sharing the things he makes. Mipha loves desserts but is picky about flavour.

Mipha would get really into metal music as a bid to make herself more mature and then her and Sidon would blast it in the loungeroom and give Dorephan a headache.

Zelda Senior works in a cafe as a baker but has an extensive prior education.

Mipha and Sidon's mother is still dead ;-; sorry.

More specifically, I feel like Zelda's mother's death was more tied to the plot and her identity and the Calamity, but I think Mipha grew around her mother's death from quite an early age, and while it still saddened her, it was already a part of her, which is why I changed one but not the other.

Revali still puts a lot of pressure on himself to be better than everyone else, and in turn ends up putting pressure on Mipha because he's nervous for her. Sorry to lump the bird guys in together but they're very Noelle and Berdly Deltarune to me

Urbosa is one of those teachers that always has a coffee. She get's it from Zelda Senior's cafe.

Zelda and Purah are in a robotics club together. Initially, Zelda joined to get closer with Purah and Impa but it's one of her favourite things now.

I don't have the energy to write out much more -_- but come back for more later if you want lol! I'm having lots of fun with this.

Has Naegizuru ever said something that made his class hyper aware that despite everything-despite the similarities-Makoto is functionally dead? And what would you propose it would be?

Oh, absolutely let's do the angst.

So I'm thinking maybe it's not something he says. I think he's careful about his words.

At first, everyone, to some extent, quietly reached the conclusion that Makoto just went through some unexplained ordeal and lost his memories. It's still Makoto; he's just catatonic from whatever happened to him, and if they spend enough time with him, like he always used to spend time with them, they'd bring him back to himself.

And everything seems to reinforce this. He's learning from the things they say about him, and from candid pictures he's been shown of his old self. He wants to be what they want him to be, so he internalizes all this information and does his best to smile like Makoto, talk to certain people slightly more than others like Makoto, as if he had a preference, and ideally fill whatever vacancies Makoto has left.

(Some genuine character development comes from the fact that Kyoko knows when he's faking. She hates to see him fake a laugh or feign confusion; it's like some stranger is putting on her dear friend as a mask. And he wants to do a better job for her, so he does his best to mean them. And when he can't claw his way to feeling the "correct" things through sheer effort, he instead learns to lean into the inklings of feeling he does have, and nurture them. More on this later! If I go too deep, it will fully derail the actual answer to your question.)

When Junko gives him the hoodie and he starts regularly wearing it, it seems to them like Makoto is really on his way back. Maybe, in celebration, they arrange a surprise for him. His favorite food.

No one's in the room to give it to him. They just leave it on a desk for him to find, planning to come in later and collectively take credit for the surprise.

(Junko probably came up with that element of it, but Kyoko definitely agreed; she wants to see what happens, too. She hopes...)

Makoto enters the room they sent him to, and he sees the bento on the desk. He studies it for a while, thinking that this is some kind of test but unable to gather what his reaction is supposed to be from anyone else's behavior. He's alone. He's supposed to...eat it, right? That's all? Is there a particular way Makoto would eat this food? Is that why...?

Or is it a special occasion? Is it tied to a memory he doesn't have? Inconclusive. He doesn't have enough information. They haven't mentioned this food before. He doesn't want to upset them. If he does the wrong thing, they might be upset about losing Makoto, and he was supposed to fix that!

He hears them coming, but he feels paralyzed with indecision. He doesn't consider himself a perfectionist in the way that Izuru is, but now he is hyper-conscious of how badly it might be received if he reacts incorrectly to this clue.

His classmates enter the room, and instead of happily munching down on this food he loves, he's standing stiffly beside the desk, looking somewhat startled.

"I-I'm sorry," he says. He's learned to stumble over his words a little. Is that better? Will that make it better? Their faces are falling. Failure. He failed this one. "I got lost in thought." He sits down and starts eating, but he's clearly checking their reactions more than enjoying the food.

Yasuhiro lightens the mood with some comment about how Makoto's so weird, and they carry on like normal, chatting and bantering, but he and they can all feel a kind of dread underneath it all. Makoto isn't here. Makoto isn't here, and they know that, now. They all know it.

Feels like I'm writting a newspaper but nah, just more delulu Aiza journal 😭

Anyways!! Remember when I said I had Headcanons of giving my fav characters animal refs/ symbolisms? Well... Decided to do that today! 🥳

So lemme start with the list! First gonna do with some of the characters from WD1 that got most of my attention/ are more well-known. ( PS: trigger warning for people with Arachnophobia when arriving at Clara's part? Is right under Aiden's, skip if you so wish)

Aiden Pearce - Gray Fox. (Urocyon cinereoargenteus)

Ok, this one is basically common knowledge since we all know that's where his damn nickname comes from lol.

Aiden has a lot of paralels with Gray Foxes, from the round faces, to climbing skills to hunting abilities!

Foxes in general represents Cunniness, Witt, a Sharp Mind and a Dubious Morality with it's Trickstery Nature. However, Gray Foxes represent neutrality, a symbol of maturity, but also sadness and indecisiveness... That sounds familiar, does it? It fits Aiden's description awfully well!

For my HC of his mannerism:

- When Aiden was younger, he used to climb trees all the time back at Belfast. His mom used to yell at him afraid he would fall. ( Wich he did. A lot actually.)

- Like a fox, he has great hearing, detecting easily when people are approaching by.

- He loves fruit (He likes Strawberry Shortcake and Banana Cake) and meat! Although he rarely has time to cook for himself and relies heavily on fast food, he is an enjoyer of chicken and hare meats!

- When Aiden manages to sleep without stress (in very rare occasions), he tend to sleep curled up under his sheets without noticing.

- He has a strong smell. When not because of his constant exercises running after criminals, is because of his wooden deodorant + his trench coat of leather. lol

(Like even after showering, his smell is not bad, just strong than usual.)

- His face is secretly very sensible. If he shaves his face and gets touched their somehow, he'll shiver and recoil bc that's a VERY sensitive face. Even with his stubbles, he can easily feel the texture and touch of someone on his cheeks, like a fox with it's whiskers. 🥺

Clara Lille - Trapdoor Spider! (Liphistius malayanus)

This one is also, once again, common knowledge! I mean, she's called like that in game- lol

Our dear Badboy17, the tattoo girlboss herself, it's pretty obvious where the spider parallels go with Clara: Her lethality, how she work in the dark, carefully using the web in her favor... But is there more to it? 🤔

Spiders represent the Resilience, Unseen Danger and the Connectedness.

All those meanings fit Clara perfect: She's connected to many things, Aiden, the Club, Dedsec... She works in the dark corners, weaving her web of connections and the benefits she can get of it. Similarly, she is an unseen danger, a person that can discover everything about others without them even suspecting, and using that against them... But she's also Resilient. Despite her connections and actions, she weaved her own path to redemption on helping Aiden, to try to fix her mistake and make amends for her past actions... And much like a spider, she was easily killed, because while Spiders are easy to disappear from our sight, people won't think twice about killing them if they're considered a "threat" to them...

For my HC of her mannerisms:

- Clara is excelent with handscraft: Eletronics, Art, Sewing... She's great at anything that requires hand work since she's very precise and perfectionist.

- She's into Urban Exploration! She loves to find dark, abandoned and hidden places left in urban areas, specially if they have some connection to Blume as a bonus.

- One of her favorite foods is Sushi! Is quick, pratical and she just like fishes. (One of Trapdoor Spiders prey 🥰)

- Is not afraid of insects but doesn't like them at all, will either kill or try to take them away from the place, if the insect is harmless.

- Clara has pretty good instinct, mostly reflex in near-body combat, but she rarely displays them since she rarely needs to fight someone nowdays or is caught offguard by gunned opponents.

- She is a solitary person, in the sense that she stays hidden in her little corner and rarely gets out with others, aside for working at the tatto studio she works on. :')

Jordi Chin - Korat Cat. (Felis Catus)

This one was suggested by @paul-poppy-art but I think everyone here agrees Jordi gives major cat energy. XD

Our favorite Fixer is funny, odd and sarcastic lovable sociopathic asshole and we all know it, but saying out loud, that does fit the description of a cat! 😂

Cats are hunters, and their symbolism is mostly tied to Indenpendence, Inteligence and Mystery, this fits Jordi perfect.

A man that works indenpendely, his only criteria is who pays more, wich will be more advanteging to him. An Inteligent and calculative killer that always has a plan in mind and a mysterious person whose' past we know nothing about! Still, he stays by Aiden's side and display his affection in a more non-verbal way (like a cat lol)

For my HC of his mannerisms:

- He has a pretty light walking, you can't hear him comming behind you... Wich is either very dangerous or annoying, depending on your situation.

- Jordi is incredibly sensitive to his surroundings and always knows what is happening around him. You can't surprise him, you simply can't.

- When not working, he tends to stay layed down or sit a lot, like a "big lazy cat". lol

- Is a clean freak. Likes to keep all his work and himself the most well-presented her can. He absolutely despite Aiden's lack of self-care. 😭

- Has extremily good reflexes and flexibility, if he gets to you, you're Fcked. (proof is at WD2)

- Is not a verbal type of guy to express his feelings, but more of the type of doing small gestures to the people he cares for. He brings them food as one of his love languages.

(Kinda like when a cat brings a bird at home to "feed their human". lol)

T-Bone Grady - Bearded Collie Dog. (Canis Lupus Familiaris)

Now is turn for the legendary Hacker Dilf himself!! 🥳

Honestly T-Bone was both easy and hard because well... His name. XD

I struggled a Lot with what race he could be, but looking a bit up, I think Bearded Collie would fit like a glove! For his character design, mostly. 😂

Dogs symbolism is tied to Loyalty, Fidelity, Alertness and Protection.

We see this a lot on T-Bone, he won't hesitate to attack to defend himself, although to his friend's he's loyal and always watch over them and their safety.

(Him trying to reach Aiden to alert him in the Bad Blood DLC) and of course, him always being in alert for Fixers after him.

My personal HCs for his mannerisms:

- Will occasionally pace around or throw/ destruct somethings if too stressed.

- Spend a lot of time on his hair and beared, and tends to let some hair strings behind.

(like a true big furred dog lol)

- Like the Bearded Collie breed, T-Bone doesn't usually "bark", he bites first.

- Can't really stay inside for too long, gets easily bored and just generally hates being idly by.

- Is curious and enjoys a challenge, this old a-hole will take anything to unlock areas/ information that no one else has access to.

- Will always be around the people he cares for, like, physically. He follows/ stays around his friends like a dog with his owner. 😭

Nicole Anne Pearce - Bumblebee. (Bombus)

HEAR ME OUT OK? The patterns on her shirt and her color palette reminded me so much of a Bumblebee! 😭

They're so chonky and floofy! Tell me Nicky ain't cute like them? 🥺🥹

Bumblebees symbolises Hardwork, Productivity, New Beginings and the Importance of a Community! I think those describes Nicole very well!

She's a hard-working single mother providing for her child(ren), her job as an Event Planner reminds me of the systematic work system of bees! Her community (family) is extremily important to her and she fought for their best... Unfortunetly, she had to re-start her life after everything that happened in WD, so all the animal symbolisms fit her character very well. :')

My personal HC for her mannerisms:

- She has the habit of "hum" while working, doing chores or running errands.

(Like the buzz of a bee lol)

-Nicky loves flowers but she doesn't have a garden since she rarely has time to dedicate to it. :')

-She loves honey! And she used to eat a lot of honey-made when she was a kid! 🥰

- Woman can't stay still, she's always moving around trying to do things: Chores, return calls, etc. Aiden used o joke she was "too much of a busy bee".

- She has a pretty characteristic floral smell. Almost all her house smell likes a garden, always with a floral hint in the air.

(Aiden used to find it comforting whenever he visited her and the kids.)

I wanted to throw in my opinion on the Trans MC if you want it! Option 3 would be a lot of extra writing and coding, so I get that it wouldn't be a decision made lightly and it would be added pressure to get it right and it's a sensitive topic for sure. I will say that if you chose to go this route tho, it would make a huge difference and mean a lot to us. I'm a trans athlete, and the lack of representation can be really discouraging. It's time like these where we are receiving so much hate, especially when it comes to sports, that allies could really step up and make a difference. Reading can really open people's minds! It may be difficult and uncomfortable, and take extra work, but that's our everyday tbh. We out here living on hard mode 😂 that's just my thoughts on the matter but I will respect you and read your story either way. Much love 🏳️‍⚧️♥️

Hey! Thank you so much for sending this! This gets long, forgive my wordiness.

First off, I really feel your statement to the bone, the part about how allies could step up and make a difference, and how positive rep in media, games etc. is insanely important.

So many stories, TV shows, movies have shaped my experience of being queer and POC, and while some of them have been nice just so I could see someone like myself being represented, the ones that really made an impact are of course the ones where these identities were explored in a sensitive, thoughtful way. (When I watched Saving Face for the first time at 17, about a queer Chinese American doctor, I bawled my eyes out and dont think I've been the same since).

I would absolutely love if CT:OS/my IFs could do this for trans athletes too.

I've seen/heard so many worrying statements about trans athletes (both in real life and in the media)—and it makes me so sad.

Some that really get me really riled up are: The idea that a trans athlete's accomplishments mean nothing because they "have an unfair advantage" (or putting it down to "just hormones" or whatever instead of recognizing the hardwork, skill, and dedication behind EVERY successul athlete, trans or not). Or the idea that trans athletes shouldn't get to choose to be trans if they want to be athletes. Or the idea of policing trans athletes' bodies or forcing them to undergo surgery in order for them to be "valid"...

Well, FUCK THAT. FUCK those people.

If my IF can help celebrate trans athletes, and combat/shut down the really harmful (and ignorant) rhetoric out there? I'd love to do that.

But since I am not trans myself, it feels doubly, triply important that I wade really carefully here. I'd really need to spend time making sure I like and can stand behind what I'm putting out. I don't think it'd be responsible representation, otherwise!

I'm not really a perfectionist about my writing and that's how I make progress on my IFs while working a full time job. I'm more the... "slap shit tgt, get it out there, get feedback and edit if I feel like it" kind of writer. And I don't think I'd be able to finish CT:OS / Merry Crisis any other way. But when it comes to race, gender, and sexual identity? I really. Really. Wanna get things right.

(I rewrote that Rayyan convo about being a POC athlete with Deepal so many times haha and it was already marginally less scary, since I am a POC athlete.)

I guess what I'm trying to say is, I agree it's so goddamn important to have trans stories, and rep, especially in sports, where views are often so toxic and polarized.

But I don't think I know yet whether I see my IF being more a simple "yay, trans rep" kind of space or an actual deeper exploration of what it means to be a trans athlete. I was quite prepared to add the option to be trans (+ any accompanying scenes etc.) when I have the complete CT:OS 1st draft, but I was also toying with the idea of just putting something imperfect into the game earlier.

Faced with indecision, I've opted for: procrastination. I am still waffling, but it was helpful to hear what you guys think. Thank you so much for your message.

Physically, I'm a 159cm / 5'2, kind of chubby girl with breast-length-ish straight blonde hair and green eyes (they're actually a mix of green, blue, gray, and brown).

My favorite color is pink, and people know me as "The Pink Lady". I usually dress in that color, however, now that I have started "university" (yrkeshögskola in Swedish— my native language), I've begun wearing other colors (I usually color-match, I can't wear too many colors or colors that don't blend together) just to seem a bit more "adult-y" since I am the second youngest in my class (there's another 19-yeard-old, I'm just a few months older than her).

Simón and Ámbar are two very contradicting people and that's why they work so well. I'll elaborate:

Starting with Ámbar, she's someone who seems a lot, but isn't actually that much. With that I mean she seems very happy and in control and determined and like nothing ever gets to her, but as we get to know her, we start seeing she's actually incredibly lonely, comically indecisive when it comes to the simplest things, and has no real idea of who she is and where she belongs beyond striving to be number one at everything (because it's the only way she learned she can be loved.)

Ámbar, due to her childhood trauma with her motherly figure, is very independent, assertive, perfectionist and controlling. With these qualities, people usually go after romantic partners that they can 'control'-- that are subdued, sweet, gentle-- all the things their mothers weren't with them. The problem with that is that then these women can never relax (which is what they truly want deep down) because they are the ones who end up doing all the problem-solving in the relationship, the ones who always take the lead. Therefore, they should actually go after someone with more masculine energy instead.

We could say Ámbar did this by dating Matteo, but the problem is that Matteo was also too independent, perfectionist, and detached from the relationship, so neither of them really developed a deep emotional connection. (Which, let's be honest, neither of them was seeking, so it worked great for them.)

Then we have Simón, who at first glance would fit the 'feminine energy guy' thing perfectly-- He's sweet, gentle, easy-going, he puts other people first, etc.

BUT, turns out, Simón is the very embodiment of "Get yourself a guy who can do both." Because man does this guy can do both.

Simón might be a pacifist at heart, but he will not hesitate to fight for those he cares about, and he will call you out if you mistreat him because he has a very strong definition of what's right and what's wrong, and he will not allow people to purposefully behave badly. He might tend to go with the flow of what other people wanna do, but he is brave enough and independent enough to leave his country and fly across the globe with nothing more than a suitcase and a guitar.

He also has the drive to go after his dreams even when they seem impossible, and he declared his feelings for Luna the moment he realized he had them even when it could endanger their friendship-- He did not stay passive. Even in Season 3 when he was the most passive (aka staring at Ámbar from afar 24/7 but doing nothing about it) this inaction was not due to lack of confidence or drive (after all, he had the confidence to ask her to dance from the very beginning)-- It was because he knew Ámbar was not in the same place as he was. Ámbar at the beginning of Season 3 was having fun playing with Simón, even tried to manipulate him with the feelings he harbored for her more than once-- She was not in an honest place of "I want us to be together." Even later, when she was getting into that mindset, Simón kept his distance but he was clear about what he wanted if she wished to be with him. He had the assertiveness to say "I'm crazy about you, but I'm not gonna play into this if you don't put in some effort."

So what do we have? Someone who is empathetic and kind and chill enough for Ámbar to get that security and love she didn't receive as a child, but also someone who's strong enough, determined enough, and driven enough to allow herself to relax every now and then and let him take the lead of things. Our girl hit the jackpot and I am jealous every day.

By the way, let me just mention, for someone who by all accounts should have an Avoidant Attachment Style, Ámbar sure as hell lets Simón in a lot. This might be because the script needed it, but I wanted to point it out because it's very curious to me. (If you don't know what Avoidant Attachment Style is, you can click here to read about it.) I mean, she went from a superficial relationship with Matteo to basically crying in front of Simón every day-- That's huge! Sure, you could argue that she couldn't help it since she was completely destroyed inside, but even then, I think it speaks very highly of him that Ámbar considered him a safe space to vent to during those tough times. We got another example of that in Season 3 when she was upset after her phone call with Sharon and then Simón walked into the lockers and she hugged him, seeking comfort. It's like she can't stop herself from wanting him to 'catch her', if you know what I mean;) But of course, she didn't want to admit she was that 'weak', so she completely shut him out the next day (the infamous maracuyá juice scene, ugh, don't even remind me, it hurt.)

Anyways, I realize I focused too much on Ámbar's side of things in the relationship instead of what both get out of it, but I already wrote in a post once what Simón gets out of it, so I'll let that speak for itself.
