A+. This pic tastes like jasmine tea (because to me nostalgia tastes like jasmine). I guess it also looks like its been dipped in tea to make it sepia or something. Prolly smells like my childhood too. Hngh. Where's that bitchass duck?

flowers
#floweeeeeeeeeers!!!!!#god I wish I was slightly better at identifying flowers because I can taste the symbolism#but as a mere layman I cannot discern the motes and flavours#in other news tho its incredible how despite the flavourful symbolism explosion#you still managed to match the flowers to the colour schemes of the characters#those sunflowers and red look GREAT with Judais brown + yellow white + yellowish blue combo#Johans blue hair contrasts the red strikingly while also cohering well with the purple and blue flowers#while the blue tint white and grey keep the blue vibe while working as neutral tones#edos blue jeans and black tint goes SUPER well with the red and yellow (+ the little red shirt decal links to the red nicely)#while the striking blue of his eyes and neutral hair is just great + his brown balances the blues#I love how manjos clothes vaguely resemble edos with the black decal shirt long light pants and brown coat#but bc its manjo it still has his style (the length of the coat and darker neutrals)#now I think about it johan is also matching judai with the overalls#inchresting#anyway the neon yellow of manjos shirt decal matches nicely with the briiiight yellow flowers#+ his general dark vibes bring out the blues and dash of red#then at long last we have yubel#they aint wearing clothes sadly but they still look great#hiding behind that bush makes them very sinister#the purples go really well with the red#and I adore the way that bright cyan flower reflects the placement of their eye#ooooh I also love how the bush seems to match the silhouette of the wing to enhance their demon vibe#great work#in other news the lines and style is really nice#you taremed the fuck out of those tareme eyes and vice versa for tsurime#it really makes judai and johan look like precious daisies#and makes manjo and edo look like they just shook hands with a million fans#the sketchy lines add to the sort of 50s summery lemonade stand atmosphere#though a lot of that is also owed to the nice warm yellow lighting#the entire set has the sepia toned vibe of an old well loved childhood photograph

Ranking Each Batman Suit/Character Skin from the Arkham Games - Part 2
70s Batman Suit - 8/10
Tumblr media
I like the bright blue cape drives home the pure camp in this design. Granted I think a LITTLE darkness can make the design really pop and fit the “Dark Knight” image but that’s just a nitpick.
Now that we’re done with goth bat dad, onto the other playable characters and their suits! Starting with Catwoman!
Catwoman Default Suit - 0/10
Tumblr media
Oh, Selina… I love you as a character, you’re a snarky, glamorous master thief who kicks ass but PLEASE WEAR SOMETHING UNDERNEATH. ITS THE MIDDLE OF WINTER. Catwoman’s outfits are usually very form fitting but not full blown fanservice like this. It’s uncomfortable to look at, it barely qualifies as a super suit (looks more like a dominatrix gear) and I always change it whenever I can. Also it REALLY DOESN’T HELP YOU KEEP A SECRET IDENTITY, SELINA, IF YOU DONT EVEN HAVE A MASK COVERING YOUR FACE FFS
Animated CatSuit - 9/10
Tumblr media
Animated Catwoman’s design was a little bland but had just enough accessories and detail to make it unique. The light grey suit with the dark grey mask, gloves and boots is a good use of contrast and the golden yellow belt is a nice touch. I kinda wish her ears were more defined and black with the rest of the suit and I think some cat eye shaped googles would really complete the look, but still good! No fanservice and fits Selina’s glamorous thief image perfectly.
Long Halloween CatSuit - 8/10
Tumblr media
Ooo, I’ve never seen this suit before. I love it! The rich purple suit with the black heeled boots is such a fun colour combo and has that goofy yet cool design philosophy that Batman has lost over the years because people forgot to have fun. The jagged whiskers, the defined ears and the silver bangles on her gloves makes the outfit look very 70s style Batman and it’s great! Although those ears look more like elf ears than a cat’s
Default Suit Robin - 2/10
Tumblr media
I do not like the idea of a hooded Robin. Especially since it makes him more of a Batman expy rather than his own character. Also the colours are so muted WHYYY. The gold boots look like phlegm and what kind of LEGO gauntlets is he wearing?? Seriously this outfit is so unimaginative and basic that if you took the R symbol off, you’ll have NO WAY of telling this is Robin.
Animated Robin Suit - 8/10
Tumblr media
Wow, who’d figured a kids show about Batman has some of the best character designs over the default designs of an edgy Batman game. I can’t imagine why. Seriously this outfit is great. Colourful and goofy, perfectly fitting Robin’s young hero in training image, red black and green is not always the best colour scheme cos it can easily look gaudy and an eyesore if you have too shades brighter or darker. But this is a perfect balance of bright red, dark forest green and jet black and the bright gold of the inside of Robin’s cape keeps the design from looking too dreary.
Red Robin Suit - ???/10
Tumblr media
What is this Chinese bootleg shit? Did someone confuse Batman with the Incredibles? What am I looking at??
Nightwing Default Suit - 8/10
Tumblr media
I usually hate militarised super suits cos it just reinforces how overcompensatingly masculine they are but Nightwing’s pulls it off pretty well with a sleek technologically enchanced suit that’s practical and aerodynamic which perfectly coincides with Dick’s being a skilled acrobatic. I wish there was more neon blue stripes around the suit to make the blue symbol less awkward but it definitely gets the point across and Dick’s anime fringe cracks me up.
Animated Nightwing Suit - 4/10
Tumblr media
I never realised how boring Nightwing’s design was in the Animated series. Without the neon blue bird symbol, it looks so bland. I was hoping for some more blue here!
And that’s all of the City skins! Stay tuned for the Origin skins cos they are a LOT of them

Please if you want to, do the Amity Arena Summer Beach outfits so we can talk about positive things too, because goddamn the atlas outfits. Jeepers.
Really, Amity Arena has outfits all across the board. Some are great, others are average, and then there’s some that are just trash. The Summer Beach outfits are actually pretty cute for the most part, and I really like them.
Tumblr media
ALT
This is honestly really cute. I love the booty shorts, the tied shirt with the crop top underneath, even the sandals are adorable. It’s suitable for a beach outfit, it’s a Yang outfit without a doubt, and even the X octopuses are so adorable.
Even though she has very little of her colour on the outfit, which for a RWBY character is still a negative, it’s not a huge deal for an alternative outfit on a mobile game. The colouring is still nice together, and I like how she looks in red. It really suits her.
Tumblr media
ALT
He looks so dumb and I love it. This is what Ironwood wears on the few holidays he allows for himself.
The Hawaiian shirt, the shorts, the little sandals, I love it. The blue of his shirt works with the red and green details, and the overall colour scheme is pretty coherent while still keeping to his established colour. It’s a cool colour palette, and his prosthetics being clear on show is nice to see so normalised. It’s also great for people like me to see how far his prosthetics go on his body.
Also his gun is a water gun and that’s great.
Tumblr media
ALT
Nora’s is a bit more average for me. The pufferfish swimming cap is a little dumb for me, and the colours together is kinda gross looking. I really would’ve prepared pink and white together, at least keep to the established colour scheme with some nicer colours.
Tumblr media
I love his little floaties. It’s such overkill and great for Neptune with his little fear of water. He’s safe from drowning.
I like that the red lifejacket is similar to his usual red jacket, and these colours work well with his bright blue hair and orange snorkel goggles. The only thing I’m not a fan on is the green on his swimsuit, it might work more with more blue, just to let the colour go through the outfit.
Tumblr media
She is so adorable.
I love the swim shirt and shorts together, the red background works with the bright white emblems and white shorts, especially with the small red accents. With the shoes, it helps to keep her red throughout the outfit, especially without the red cape behind her.
I love the goggles on her head. The blue is nice contrast with the red, and works against the colour of her dark hair.
Tumblr media
Adorable.
It’s a bit difficult to see with how she’s posed, but the swimsuit with the purple and white works with the black shorts, especially with her long black hair. The bow and it’s design works similarly as well, since the bright colours help the bow stand out against the black hair.
The goggles are a bit much in combination with the bow, either have the goggles or the bow, having both just clutters the top half.
Tumblr media
This is such a cute design.
I love the hair changed into a ponytail over the shoulder, and the straw hat is such a cute accent for her. She looks like the type to carry a big bag of everything to the beach, especially sunscreen. Atlas doesn’t get sun.
The blue dress is such a cute design, and the gradient to lighter blue and white is so pretty. It contrasts with her pale skin, and while I’d like some more white to show through, I do think this blue is very pretty.
Tumblr media
Sun is the perfect dude for a beach outfit. He looks so cute.
It’s a very casual wear, and the blue looks so good with the yellow of his hair and the white of his hat, it fits with his established colour scheme and fashion. The little waves on his shorts are cute and add a bit of details to the little clothing he has.
Plus, I think his eyes are black like they were originally, which I appreciate. It’s very neutral with his otherwise bright colour scheme.
Tumblr media
Her skin is so desaturated. Ashy crocodile.
The skin tone aside, it’s a cute outfit otherwise. The green and black work well together, especially with her desaturated skin. I love the tock on her shorts and little decal on her chest, and the sunglasses on her head are cute.

As someone who plays games and enjoys stories that aren't terrible, I always love it when the setting of a tale is allowed to truly manifest. That is to say, when there's just as much attention put into it as there is for the characters, to the point where the setting might as well be its own character. It doesn't always have to be completely in-your-face mind you, but generally speaking, if you can feel the amount of personality given to the location, there's a nine out of ten chance that I'm going to appreciate it. Bonus points if it's really pretty.
Naturally, this extends to the world of Sonic. Though the level of backstory varies when not taking Japanese manuals into account, the many islands/planets/theme parks in space/parallel dimensions Sonic has visited over the years nonetheless tend to hold a lot of charm with the way their zones and stages are presented. And when it comes to Sonic in particular - when they're at their best - his style of environments have the perfect aesthetic for my personal tastes: full of whimiscal, cartoony character, yet beautiful and sincere at the same time (or ominous and sincere, in the case of Eggman's moodier fortresses and the like).
So it goes without saying that this has been one major focus of mine while writing for Sonic & Tails: Beyond the Stars, my own little fanfic adventure for the blue hedgehog. From the moment I started putting my story into words, I wanted to make an effort to give the land of Viridonia the same love and focus that was given to the likes of Angel Island and the Little Planet in the official installments. Granted, it helps that the nature of my story already relies on a considerable amount of presence for my setting, but that alone would be insufficient. We have to go deeper. We have to go... advanced.
Long story short, I spend far too much time imagining locations in my head for my oh-so-epic fanfic where a 90's caricature confronts his breakfast mascot arch-nemesis for the nth time. Seriously, do not underestimate me on this. I think about the colour schemes. I think about the architecture. I think about not only what type of music would fit each location, but also the specific mood to go along with it. “No guys, it would have THIS kind of icy music, not THAT kind of icy music.”
Hell, I even make crappy MSPaint flags that represent each of the zones, Unleashed-style, which are “proudly” displayed in the appropriate chapters. I'm on a drug, and that drug is making Sonic settings come to life despite existing purely in written form. Please help me.
So I figured I might as well expand a bit on some details that may interest those of you who read my fic, that couldn't be acknowledged too much in the fic itself without severely ruining the pacing of the story in the process. Note that you will NOT miss anything important in the fic proper if you skip on these posts. It's just a fun bit of behind-the-scene elaboration on the thought and inspiration involved, if you're into that sort of thing. Nothing more, nothing less.
Oh, and by the way? I hope you like Spyro the Dragon comparisons, because there's gonna be a lot of them as this series goes on, and I won’t be sorry for any of it. :] Yes, it's hardly surprising that my equal love for Spyro's environments (specifically Classic/Reignited Spyro, as I was never a Legend or Skylanders fan) plays a recurring influence in the way I visualize my Sonic zones, mainly with the way colour contrast is often used. That's not to say that the Sonicy aspects are lost or forgotten, though. After all, their universes are already pretty similar in terms of general aesthetic, so it's not too much of a stretch anyway IMO.
Anyhow, this intro has gone on long enough, so let's begin with the central hub of Viridonia, shall we? (I was originally gonna lump in Trudy’s castle and Gleaming Meadows in the one part, but each of them ended up being even longer than I expected, so uh, guess they’ll have to be separate.)
Creating the Hub: Lime Shores
Right off the bat, my goal with Lime Shores was very simple: to make it different from Station Square. No disrespect to Station Square, I love it as much as the next SA1 fan (especially its music!), but considering that a recurring motif of Beyond the Stars is to mirror certain aspects of SA1's story WITHOUT completely copying the whole routine, it was doubly important for the central town of Viridonia to have its own identity to help further that point. And since Lutrudis - and the rest of the folk on the island - are all inexplicably English to varying degrees and varying stereotypes, I knew what had to be done.
I’d make it look like Solihull, of course.
Tumblr media
What? You thought it'd be based on London? HA. That comes later, in more Eggmanian territory. No, for Lime Shores, I wanted something a bit more gentle, something more quiet, something that looks rustic yet refined in equal measures... and something that contrasts greatly with the unique oddity that's been placed upon it.
Because let's not forget, as an everlasting side-effect of the Ethereal Zone's lingering power, much of the stony architecture has been given a nice gleam that causes it to change colour depending on the time of the day. Whereas in the daytime it looks suitably turquoise, the tones change to purple and pink by nighttime.
Tumblr media
This might also explain why some occasional buildings look a bit... SEGA World-y...
Tumblr media
It was important to make the town down-to-earth (for Sonic standards), because that way the Ethereal effects would be more striking. If it was a big proud metropolis like Station Square or Empire City, it wouldn't have the same impact. You'd still probably notice it, sure, but the contrast between the quaint vibe of the town with the increasing wonder if it was touched by aliens or some shit would be lost. (But don’t worry, a big proud metropolis is indeed featured in this story. You’ll get your Speed Highway fix in due time, though as expected, that too has an identity of its own...)
And of course, no area with Shore in the title is complete without, well, a shore. And sure enough, the waters near the shore are a slightly deeper sea green than average, even without the help of its nearby shiny rocks...
Tumblr media
But what sort of music, pray tell, would accompany this unique town that kicks off Sonic's latest adventure? Well it may have a gentle disposition in spite of the Ethereal alterations, but it's still a Sonic adventure we're talking about, and Sonic is obviously going to be excited as hell to explore this new land with or without Eggman shenanigans in the mix. So to reflect his particular brand of upbeat passion, I think something along these lines will do nicely. (NOTE: I’ve decided to include two tracks for each location - some of them not even being Sonic-related - for the sake of more comparison and for driving the intended tone home all the more.)
youtube
youtube
But then, that's for the daytime. When it's night, however, we'll need something a little more relaxing and calm, yet still capturing a similarly mysterious atmosphere...
youtube
youtube
Also, there's a (completely optional) training simulator set up by Tails in Lime Shores. Should you ever try it out to brush up your skills in beating all those Eggman robots, the simulation would appear very reminiscent of the Colosseum from Sonic Battle, if it decided to trade in its green for blue. This is apparently the only noteworthy visual change in this piece of Miles Prower technology since 2004. Go figure.
Tumblr media
And finally, yes, the town comes with such charmingly English luxuries like a post office, a tavern, a museum, a spa, and... a Chao Garden.
Yes, they would all have different music tracks of their own.
No, I'm not going to list what I have in mind for each one. That would make this post longer - and sadder - than it already is.

—Princess—
Pairing: Sera x Female Trevelyan
Pairing Type: F/F
Words: 2,227
Warnings: Okay This Was Cute, Orlesian Parties Call For Princess-y Dresses Okay, Vivienne is a Very Good Friend, and has a Great Eye For Good Ball Dresses
Sure, Kiora had a fancy-pants last name, but Sera didn't think of her as a nob. She was magic, first of all, and she was a little dopey and dumb and sweet and nothing like the shrewd bastards with razor-sharp gazes she allegedly came from.
Kiora always wore robes that fit just right—fabric was stretched to accommodate her big bust, falling gracefully to cover but still show her pudgy tummy, and pulled tight again over wide hips and a perfect butt, the ends of the fabric pooling just a little at her toes. She liked silver jewelry, her dangly silver earrings and pretty silver necklace both decorated with beautiful violet gemstones the same colour as her strange violet eyes. But, for all the beauty that she had, she didn't look noble. She looked like she could stand alongside people like Vivienne, all dolled up for fancy-pants nobles but stuck in robes and gossiped about behind their pretty, magical backs.
Sera honestly never thought she'd see Kiora in anything but her usual clothing.
Halamshiral was one thing, and seeing Kiora in anything but a black or dark purple robe was jarring. She looked horribly uncomfortable in the pants Josephine had forced her into, unable to walk properly for hours. Her usual dark purple eye shadow and lip colour didn't really go with the blue, yellow, and red, but Sera knew she needed something to tie the horrible outfit to her typical getup. The poor little mage was not supposed to be in pants. That was probably Mage Rule Number One. No pants, ever.
After Coryphe-whatsit was dead, and the Mage-Templar war was, for the most part, ended, a lot of nobles were aching to meet the chubby little mage that had closed the Breach and saved their asses. Which meant attending parties, and a lot of them. Sera was always on Kiora's arm, her constant companion in the fight against boredom.
And with Sera and Kiora was Vivienne. She loved attending parties with the Inquisitor, and was getting better at tolerating Sera's lack of social graces. Kiora was actually a wonderful student when it came to learning the art of the ballroom, and Vivienne was delighted by the fact. It could've been her thirteen years of nobility before the Circle that made her such a quick learner, but Sera doubted it. Kiora was just naturally a passive people-pleaser—something nobles loved powerful mages to be.
"Alright, my dear," Vivienne said, clasping her hands together. "Duke Délavé will expect our darling Inquisitor to be in only the finest of dresses!"
Kiora audibly groaned, making Sera laugh. The two of them were bored out of their minds—especially Sera. She didn't want to go to some fancy ball thrown by some fancy Orlesian nob.
Vivienne sighed, shaking her head. Her smile was still present under her exasperation. She liked Kiora a lot despite the younger mage's soft indifference to most of her lessons. Kiora liked spending time with Vivienne, not nobles. "Well, my dear, remember that appearance is as powerful as any magic," Vivienne said, her hands on Kiora's shoulders. She directed Kiora's gaze into the mirrors in front of them. Her soft, dark brown hands contrasted sharply with Kiora's pale, waxen skin, holding her like she was a chubby little porcelain doll.
Sera was currently lounging on one of the excessively decorated fainting couches in Duke What's-his-Name's guest bedroom, Kiora's cat Miss Match napping on her stomach. Kiora's cats were great for keeping Sera's hands busy with petting while she was forced to sit through boring little talks. Well, she wasn't actually forced to be here, she just wanted to see what nonsense Vivienne would put Kiora in.
"Aren't my robes nice enough?" Kiora asked, looking down at her chest. They were beautiful, really, their dark colour and flowy fabric. Sera couldn't help but say something in her lady's defense.
"Yeah, Viv," she said, making the cat on her stomach wake up with a little murp sound. "She's already friggin' beautiful. Why stuff her in some fancy-pants dress?"
Vivienne raised a perfect eyebrow. "Everything in a court is about appearance, dear Sera," she said. "Have you never paid a second of attention?" Her light eyes quickly flickered over Sera's body. "It's obvious you've never applied my advice."
Sera rolled her eyes. Who cares what some nob-ish mage thinks? She thought, sticking her tongue out. "Whatever. It's not like she has to climb some dumb social ladder. She's the Inquisitor."
Kiora nodded in agreement.
Vivienne sighed, leaning a little more of her weight onto the shorter mage. "Well, it could be fun, then," she said, her full, pretty lips quirking up in a smile. "I won't stuff you into heels, dear."
"Well..." Kiora looked back and smiled at Vivienne. "You haven't led me astray yet, Vivienne..." Vivienne's smile was genuine. "But I will need a cigar first."
• • ♡ • •
Vivienne was mad. Utterly mad.
Sera had come along with her into the massive closet that had been stocked for the noblewomen visiting the Orlesian Duke's court, apparently kept so that those coming from other nations would fit into the Orlesian ballroom. Sera thought it was a whole lot of wasteful nonsense, and Kiora's shock at the mass of dresses seemed to indicate she, too, thought it was absurd. Nobles obviously did everything they could to spend their gold.
"Now," Vivienne said, almost gliding as she pushed Sera and Kiora down deeper into the closet. "Obviously, we'll be sticking to the violets and blacks." Vivienne smiled a little as she shook her head. "What is it you find so fascinating about a funeral's colour scheme?"
Kiora laughed in her adorable, whispery laugh, shrugging. Smoke from her elfroot cigar curled from her pretty purple-painted lips, and made the room smell less like slightly aged fabric and more like incense. "It's comfortable... And it works with my... complexion?"
It was adorable seeing her try to speak Vivienne's language.
"The purple does match your undereyes," Vivienne said, amused. Kiora didn't bother getting offended. "And Sera, dear, do tell me if you see anything that catches your eye."
Sera looked at the light dresses they passed, and figured she'd drown in all the fabric. Her thin frame would hardly fill out all the space nobles left for hips and tits. But they were pretty.
"Oh, Vivienne," Kiora said, halting Sera and Vivienne in their tracks. She had her cigar between her teeth, hands wandering over a lovely bit of purple fabric. Violet silk was mixed with black velvet, pinching it were the waist would be and flaring out, its neckline low and back exposed. As much as Kiora distanced herself from the nobility she came from, it was obvious she was in love.
"That is quite the design," Vivienne remarked, taking the dress from its place among the others and holding it in her hands. Sera was impressed. Someone must have spent forever on the damn thing. She held it up against Kiora's body. "And it does look like it may fit if I pull it right..." She nodded. "Should we look for some secondary options?" The dress was enveloped in a film of white magic, left hovering just behind the Knight Enchanter.
They ended up with two more dresses for Kiora to try on, both of them—of course—violet and black.
As they were walking back to the chambers from the depths of the tulle-filled hell, Sera couldn't help but get her eye caught on something yellow and covered in lace.
Kiora noticed her stall, and stopped to follow Sera's eyes. "Ooh," she cooed, touching the yellow fabric. "Wouldn't she look nice in yellow, Vivienne?"
"She would," Vivienne said, eyes narrowed in thought, staring at Sera as opposed to the dress. She pulled the dress from its placement, letting it hover with the others. There was no way she was finishing this day off without getting stuffed in it.
Kiora wrapped her chubby arms around Sera's slender frame, cigar making the air warm in addition to her body heat. Maker, Kiora was like a human heat pad.
• • ♡ • •
Vivienne kicked Sera out of the room as soon as she made Kiora start trying on her dresses.
Is this what grooms feel like before weddings? She thought, sighing as she laid down on a crevice, holding her dress. Ugh, I just wanna see tadwinks in that dress... After a second, she felt herself blush. Here she was, thinking about wedding stuff. Slow down, Sera.
She felt a sharp little paw on her arm, and looked down to see a chubby little black cat, one green and one blue eye staring at her.
"You got booted out, too?" She asked, laughing a little as she gave the little cat a pat on the head. Miss' sad little meow was an obvious yes. "Viv's so serious about all this nob shite..." She rolled her eyes. Over the years, Sera had gotten along with Vivienne better. Kiora really liked the Knight Enchanter, so Sera sort of got swept along in the liking. Vivienne wasn't that bad. She was just serious about really boring things, and thought Templars were necessary. Kiora had made it obvious they weren't, but they kept their disagreements civil and quiet.
She felt like she was in that hallway for hours before Vivienne finally pulled her into an adjacent room, setting her in front of an equally opulent and ugly Orlesian mirror.
"It's nice to see that perhaps this boyish style of yours can mature, Sera, dear," she said, smiling to either Sera or herself. Probably herself.
"Hey, dresses are cool, just, you know, not for kicking butt," she shrugged. She doubted she would be a good Jenny if she was always tripping over fancy fabric. "So I don't wear 'em."
"Well, I doubt any ass-kicking will happen tonight," Vivienne laughed in her low, rich, courtly laugh. "And if need be, you are accompanied by two very talented mages."
Sera rolled her eyes. She could be as damsel-in-distress-y she wanted with Vivienne and Kiora around.
"Alright, off with the clothes." Vivienne had a talent for making a command sound like a polite inquiry you were compelled to follow. Like Josephine.
"Hey, I'm a committed lady," Sera laughed, easily pulling off her top, then toeing off her boots, then pulling off her leggings. "No wandering eyes, Viv."
"Wouldn't dream of it." She held the yellow dress in her hands, observing it closely and with the eye of a true veteran of the court. "Well built, very slimming and simple," she said to herself, nodding. "Yes, this will do quite well for you." She looked up to Sera and gave a soft smile. "Excellent choice."
Sera hated that Vivienne's praise made her face heat up.
It was a bit of a process to get on the seemingly simple dress, the straps and lace and under layers and all sorts incredibly hard to keep track of. Especially to someone as inexperienced as Sera. Vivienne had to force her to sit to brush her messy blonde hair, apply neat charcoal around her eyes, and oil to her lips. It was hardly a touch of makeup, but when Sera looked in the mirror, she hardly recognized herself. She looked almost wealthy, like a dressed-up doll.
She really wanted to see what Kiora looked like, but Vivienne said she'd have to wait until the ball.
What utter bullshit.
• • ♡ • •
Sera rushed into the ballroom as fast as she could, not caring about how many offended nobles she nearly bumped into. She had to find her tadwinks.
A bob of unusually smooth black hair caught her eye, and she bolted over.
"Tadwinks!"
Kiora turned around, and smiled open-mouthed when she saw Sera.
"You... look like a princess!" They both said at the same time, standing dead still.
"Sera! Your dress!" Kiora was in awe, her hands on Sera after a second, feeling the soft fabric and lace. "It's beautiful! You're beautiful!" Her voice was still that sleepy whisper, but it was obvious she was excited.
"Speak for yourself!" Sera laughed, grabbing Kiora's soft, round face. Vivienne had made an attempt to fix Kiora's messy eyebrows, and her makeup was incredible. Smoky purple eye shadow, slightly powered face, blushing cheeks, and dark violet lips. Her silver earrings dangled amongst her brushed hair.
Her long silver necklace laid against her large chest, falling just above her generous cleavage. The dress' neckline showed off said cleavage wonderfully, and her shoulders were on display in all their wonderful softness. Her waist curved in a little more than usual, and the dress flared out in violet silk until it pooled on the floor.
She really did look like a princess. A beautiful, beautiful princess.
They spent the rest of the night ignoring nobles and convincing Vivienne to dance with them, no matter how bad they were. When Kiora spun, her dress flared out. And Sera really liked to spin her.
She was winded and covered in dark purple lipstick by the time the party winded down, her mask-less face showing off the princess's kisses to the most jealous Orlesians she'd ever seen. Sera's princess was hers and hers alone, and she was quite planning on keeping it that way forever.

Note
You mentioned recently that you know colour theory, and I wanted to know your take on the colours used in S7E13 when Acxa is shown watching in the background while Keith and Krolia are at his dad’s grave? I’m personally still unsure about Acxa’s true motivations, but just her being there is odd at the very least, if not ominous. But yeah, are the colours used for the sky in that scene supposed to make the viewer uneasy, or is that just me?
I love me some colour theory. Alright, let’s take a look at this pictures to see if we can spy anything interesting.
When I first saw this scene, I was like ‘oh, they’re really going for this ship aren’t they’, but the more I look at it the more uneasy it left me, and before someone gets on me, it has nothing to do with trying to disprove one ship for another.
In general, the use of oranges and yellows is a good thing. It’s joy, energy, enthusiasm, attraction, and so much more. They contrast it with purples and greens in this (purple being the opposite of yellow to make that background stand out some. Purple and gold together portray royalty, but purple and yellow have kind of sickly associations like bruising). Kosmo stands out so much in the picture because it’s entirely devoid of blues until we actually see Acxa’s face. That doesn’t really mean anything though.
So no, the colours themselves don’t represent anything big. In fact, they can very much be used in romantically coded situations.
Except, Voltron has never done that. Both Hun@y and L0tura were done with purples and pinks, not oranges and yellows. (I don’t want this to end up in any ship tags in case people that like k@cxa stumble onto it. That wouldn’t be fair of me). Why switch it up? You can get those colours as a nice, twilight setting too, but that’s not what they’ve ever done. Using Voltron’s own rules for colouring, if this is supposed to hint towards a budding romance, it’s…really off. It’s almost on the opposite side of the colour wheel.
There is a reason you feel uneasy though, and it less to do with the colours themselves than it does the composition of the image, as well as the use of shadows and light.
Tumblr media
Look at those three images. The light is very intense in the background layers of the image where Keith and Krolia are to the point where they almost  blend into the scene and disappear into it. They’re not the focus of the scene. This one, which could have been a sad, sweet moment with Keith, his mom, and Kosmo, is all about Acxa. (So no, SHE doesn’t appear in the background, Keith/Krolia/Kosmo do.)
This graveyard is old, and we see a dead tree in the background and weeds taking over, but the only damaged tombstone we see is the one in the foreground.
She’s quite literally in the shadows watching them. Everything is so bright up by Keith and his mother, but in the above pics, she’s standing in darkness. If this was made to be romantic, it would have been shot from Keith’s point of view. We would have seen his dad’s grave in the foreground, we would have seen his mom’s face and his own. His mom is mourning the loss of someone she loved, after all.
It would have shown Keith looking up and over his shoulder at her, maybe with surprise, but probably with a soft expression. They would have focused on him because he’s the character that we’re following, that we care about, not Acxa.
It doesn’t though. She’s at their backs, she’s in the shadows watching them, and she doesn’t draw attention to herself.
Before someone says I’m reaching, we have actually seen this exact same composition before when a paladin was in a graveyard.
Tumblr media
Voltron likes reusing the same positioning. They do it to portray certain themes, to draw parallels, to entice certain emotions and moods. It’s not a coincidence.
“But Kaylee, you do see Acxa’s face eventually and she’s in light.” Fine, let’s look at that one.
Tumblr media
When I first saw this, for some reason, I thought she was smiling at him, but she’s not. She’s actually fairly neutral. Of course, Acxa can show emotion, she’s just very good at staying blank faced when she wants to be. When she doesn’t care about keeping a neutral face though, we’ve seen annoyance, sadness, confusion and more. She’s keeping a blank face here for a reason (whatever that may be). This is not how Voltron has portrayed L0tura or Hun@y.
Don’t tell me this is just how Acxa looks, because I’ll raise you this:
Tumblr media
Look at how she looked at Lotor. There’s (probably unhealthy) pride and devotion there. If the scene with Keith was supposed to be romantic, wouldn’t they have at least turned her lips up into more of a smile? Why wouldn’t he have looked back at her?
As for more symbolism, it’s actually likely that the graveyard scene takes place at sunset. I say that because the scenes before this were obviously daylight, and the next scene is where this fish out the Altean and the sky is visibly darker.
Tumblr media
Sunrises are usually symbolic for life, for waking up to a new day of possibilities, where a sunset is symbolic of fading light, life coming to an end, approaching darkness.
Given the end of season seven, I think that the sunset is the safe bet to go with, because it’s so ominous with they find the Altean in the pod. That doesn’t show hope to me. That shows a bit of horror, because something very bad is about to happen.
Before anyone says I’m reading too much into that, stuff like this is done on purpose. Yeah, maybe it was to add some rich colours to the ending, but I really don’t think so. The last time we saw a sunset in Voltron (at least with the paladins), Shiro and Keith were discussing Keith’s dad dying in a fire, and we started getting clues to the fact that Shiro was dying from his illness. Now this same kind of lighting and colouring shows up in a graveyard where Keith’s dad is buried?
There is nothing positive, hopeful, or romantic about that scene when you break it down.
Also THIS part here may be reaching, but I tried to get the colours to match up a little more, because the lighting was completely different (one orange tinted, one blue tinted). So yes, there’s some colour correction going on from my part, and I couldn’t get them to match up perfectly but…
Tumblr media
…aren’t they kind of wearing the same colours? Replace the yellow on Acxa’s with the Altean teal or Galra purple and you’ve got almost the same colour scheme (and I checked on Zethrid and Ezor to see if I was seeing things that aren’t there, but everything about them is entire mismatched and pulled together fairly randomly as people going around steal and using what resources they can would be).

ไอเดีย Prada Bag 79 รายการ
Gucci, however, managed to fend him off by promoting a 45% stake to industrialist François Pinault, for US$3 billion. In 1998, the first Prada menswear boutique opened in Los Angeles. I’m a coffee very first thing in the morning person and discover the quiet morning hours probably the greatest instances to unwind. Before I headed out to brunch, I packed my Matinée bag and again found this bag to be actually spacious and constructed properly. Some additional cool features about this bag are the adjustable leather handle and removable adjustable leather shoulder strap. This bag is meant to work for you and your wants, from the method it matches to what it carries. The comforting bag is made from thick, gentle padded nylon that really looks like a cushion. The Double bag design, which was released in 2014, was envisioned as a basic that may be very true to the Prada model. We gotta admit that it’s extraordinarily much like the Galleria, with the principle distinction being the closure, which makes for easier entry all through the day. It has the entire magnificence and practicality that a basic Prada purse has, despite being a more recent design. Like the Sidonie, it additionally has metal detailing on the side and a black handle that provides a pleasant contrast to the colorful bag. This Prada bag is technically a hobo, with a rounded bottom and an inside magnetic closure. The leather-based strap closure releases to level out the inside with one inside pocket and Nappa leather-based lining. Because the bottom of the bag is structured, whether or not you overfill it or under-fill it, it holds it form properly. As for brunch, the 270-degree views of the Catskills from Prospect, the restaurant on property, is to not be missed. Ladies love the immense element and texture of this leather and fall in love with its polished design. And whilst you may think this leather is overly delicate due to its thinness, it is quite durable and may hold up well- although you must try to keep it away from harms way as much as attainable. Prada Nappa Gaufre Leather is a undoubtedly favorite and many believe it appears greatest in darker colours. To put it plainly, Prada Vitello/Vitello Lux Leather is a gorgeous trying leather that oozes high class. The Prada bag is also an ultimate proof of the unimaginable craftsmanship and finest supplies. So, get ready to carry it fashionably via its double handles. This luxury and trendy prada purses is dedicated to producing prime quality out of doors bags. This beautiful little flap bag can hold a surprising amount of stuff. It is a singular nylon creation that stays away from the extra industrial origin of the fabric. The chain handles add an old-timey element we would usually expect from Chanel or Yves Saint Laurent, however right here they're an sudden contact that provides much more class to the nylon Prada bag. 20 years later and this bag provides the right contact of nostalgia spruced up as a twenty-first century classic. I am excited about receiving personalized presents and magnificence updates via e-mail. “Sooner or later, it's going to happen to everyone because is so good,” Italian billionaire fashion designer Miuccia Prada said in an interview. Notice that the topstitching on most of Prada’s bag types is barely angled. This is hard to duplicate, and most counterfeiters just use a normal straight stitch. The Linea Rossa collection is both modern and practical, with a lense bridge creating one giant, protecting surface. Alternatively, the Sport and Aviator collections supply extra variety, with prime bars for durability and nose pads for enhanced consolation. The straps are sold individually and come in Calfskin, Saffiano, and Nastro leather-based with all that includes floral patterns with a 3D effect designed from crystals, plexiglass, resin or leather. The straps are actually exclusively out there on the Prada Broadway and Prada fifth Avenue boutiques in New York and will be obtainable online by the end of the month. Introduced in 2013, the Prada Double Bag rapidly turned a favorite. Much just like the Galleria Bag, the Double is reinterpreted each season in colours and fabrications primarily based on the style of the season. From then on Miuccia would turn out to be known for her eclectic and continually altering type, since no two runway reveals have every been the identical. In 1978, Miuccia Prada grew to become the head of the company, and she turned issues around significantly. She stopped imports altogether and switched the store’s focus in direction of in-house bag designs. She launched the primary series of nylon Prada backpacks and totes, which would go on to turn out to be a significant hit in the mid-’80s and properly into the ‘90s. Miuccia Prada’s mother, Luisa, inherited the store from her father Mario, and in 1970 she introduced her daughter into the company. The latter not only holds particulars of the bag fashion but in addition its serial number. Finally, the Baroque assortment is well probably the most unique and indulgent design of all of Prada’s sunglasses. The Baroque sun shades use butterfly frames and curly temples that provide ample protection, without sacrificing style. These sun shades are available in a variety of colour schemes, together with black and brown, yellow and black, and purple and yellow. While the Galleria Bag presents a bit extra construction, particularly due to the full body pockets on the front and back of the bag, the Double is more minimal and light-weight. Prada Candy Prada Perfume Hopefully they dont discontinue or reformulte it. This perfume to me is sort of a "your pores and skin however sweeter" scent. It actually does work in one other way with everyones chemistry. On me this is a make-up blended with powdered sugar scent and people milk caramel candies. The Prada shoulder luggage are perfect for the outgoing girls who like to maintain it basic with their things. I assumed that many sweet fragrances, especially ones called "Candy" were going to be a juvenile, sickly mess. Well, now that I'm starting to have a larger understanding of fragrances and am realizing that candy and gourmand don't necessarily imply cloying cotton candy scents, I determined to attempt this for fall. So I pulled out a tester of it that I had and I'm glad I did. Both tags are white, but one has the number 31 in black and the other one the quantity 26 in red. I recently bought a preloved Prada Borsa Tessuto Nero. I was questioning if it ought to have had a hidden number tag? Also, there wasn’t any model engraved on the zippers, just plain one. The authenticity card’s envelope included was in blue not black. Headed up by his visionary granddaughter, Miuccia Prada for several a long time, her collections, heavily inspired by artwork, culture and contemporary society, are revered by fashion editors to A-list stars. The providing contains ready-to-wear, accessories, footwear, baggage and far more. This is attributed to the fact that there isn't a pepper or harsh wooden noted within the composition. This is a really particular perfume due to just how clean it's, it will not gel with everybody but it's an excellent addition to my collection and one I put on a minimum of each fortnight or so. depurses prada Smooth metallic lavender opening with a recent yet slightly darkish shady really feel. 'Carbon' was the right choice to call this fragrance. All in all, it just about simply has like a clean clothes sort of smell. For a fresh fragrance, performance is nice, with good longevity and reasonable projection. Here’s tips on how to inform a real Prada BN2106 from a pretend one. One of essentially the most favored luxury manufacturers right now is Prada. Established in 1913, its original and classic design has been liked by many fashionistas (including me!) and celebs all over the world. However, as a result of its reputation, more manufacturers are now producing Prada replicas that look eerily just like the real one. One of the explanation why I spend cash on luxury bags is the reality that their prices usually skyrocket after a couple of years, in distinction to odd handbags which regularly have little worth over a time frame. When it involves sneakers, the designer ones always give me the sort of gasping expertise akin to a lover’s first kiss. There are examined Prada's nylon decisions these days, they have expanded somewhat. Search for a couple of our nylon favorites, both conventional and new, below. a lot about Prada luggage I determined to research them. Pretend Prada Archives This is certainly a more reliable method to earn cash than wholesale purchase of replica on-line. Yes, you might not be able to consider that in addition to wholesale purchases of replicas, there are such good channels to make money. So, you can try to purchase a product immediately, because Chinabrands does not have a minimum order amount for wholesalers. This permits you to choose more merchandise, and the reasonable competition between suppliers can provide clients with extra quality and preferential products. In addition, you can also access the quality B2B services provided by Chinabrands, the place small entrepreneurs can get very low-cost wholesale costs. wikipedia Leather double handle 10.5cm high, detachable and adjustable shoulder with 50cm. Double-lock closure with lock closure, leather and rayon lining. There's no reason why you must should go another day without a luxurious purse or handbag. With an intensive number of purses , low-cost costs, free delivery, and a protracted and established history of providing exceptional service, DFO Handbags is the popular supplier of designer handbags. Apart from the backpacks, they've purses for ladies and leather-based purses. Follow my weblog for extra informative articles about baggage and style. I advise you to fastidiously verify the spacing of all the elements within the brand. These include the Prada Milano name, the ribbon, and a unique crest. It could sound trivial, nevertheless it's precisely what I imply. “Made in Italy”, as many different excellences around the globe, is struggling to outlive in at present's society. They set up ship in 2017 and have sold over 15,000 units of product. So let’s get into the best Dhgate replica luggage sellers. These are prime notch high quality replica luggage from China so to talk. Verified by us as well as tonnes of product reviews on DHGate. Looking for replicas of high brands such as Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Prada and others? Luxury baggage from big manufacturers are ridiculously costly and in many of the cases, they're priced excessive just for their brand name and never essentially the quality. Prada’s logo, which includes the inverted triangle, is considered one of the most distinguishable designer logos. Genuine Prada luggage should have brand plaques which may be clearly readable, evenly placed, and secured on the leather. Most Prada bags come in a soft flannel or silky dust bag with the Prada emblem printed on the entrance, though there are only a few exceptions. Authentic Prada baggage have their stitching accomplished at an angle. The stitching on genuine baggage can be accomplished with a thick thread. Most faux luggage will use a flimsier thread and the stitching will normally be done straight. You will discover a small tag inside the bag, and it will have a number. This quantity is an indicator of the purse manufacturing facility number. Make certain that the bag incorporates a white dust bag, and the Prada brand is engraved on it in black colour. Make positive that font on the Prada bag and dirt bag are the same. The authentic Prada bag accommodates a label indicating that “100 Cotton and Made in Italy”. Though the it tote craze didn’t actually take hold until a couple of years after, in the flip of the century Miuccia Prada despatched the primary it bag of down the century her Spring/Summer 2000 runway present. A totally completely different form, with curved lines and an oddly satisfying streamlined design, the Prada Bowling Bag was impressed by a genuine bowling bag. No sooner did the tote make its method off the runway that customers started planning to buy if it hit stores. When the bag did property in stores, it offered out instantly and the waitlist rose by way of the day. Next, look for the quality assurance tag within the interior pocket.

Serendipity Analysis
this marks the start of the analysis of the Love Yourself 承 Her Album. i will be analysing several parts - music, aesthetics and lyrics.
disclaimer: this is just my opinion and speculation, feel free to disagree or to share your thoughts in the replies or ask box.
starting off the analysis would be in the intro: Serendipity.
Tumblr media
overall: this intro was released on the 4th September for the Her Album. 承 means development. in a way, this album marks the start of the Love Yourself Series in which i have mentioned before in some translated articles that it would stretch till 2018 and in addition to this, there have been some releases of the highlight reels here, here, here and here.
the intro was done by Jimin, part of the vocal line and comparing with the other intros from bangtan’s previous albums, this is the first time that the vocal line is doing the intro as the school trilogy and dark and wild was done by Namjoon, the HYYH series done by Yoongi and Wings by Hoseok - the rapline. as such, i was quite surprised to see that this time the vocal line is taking over the intro in which i can safely assume that the next few albums, the vocal line might continue to do the intros.
Namjoon has mentioned that he did take part in the producing of this song and the writing of lyrics ( which i will explain later ).
The point of having an intro is to build on the anticipation for the listeners of the album, to expect more from the album and to build up the mood. Usually, its not a full song, it usually is less than 3mins, just to give a little sneak peak of the album. ( Reference ) In this case, Serendipity is building on the feeling of being in love, when you’re dating someone as what Jimin has mentioned in their comeback show. So this intro leads in on the feelings of love ( though for some reason, in some songs, the feeling of it is not as obvious )
music: the song starts off with this sound of being sucked in, which actually matches how the universe is in Jimin’s eyes ( which will be later explained ). as i mentioned before, hearing the intro from the vocal line is something new, as such there’s no raps and genuinely its a sweet song. Jimin has a way of saying 그냥, 그냥 in a way similar to cat. he tends to slur his words to emphasise the lyrics such as in 넌 내 푸른 곰팡이 ( you're my penicillin ) and also 난 네 삼색 고양이 ( you’re my calico cat ). but when he riffs off the lyrics 나의 천사 나의 세상 ( my angel, my world ) and Love me now touch me now, he doesn't do it too much and stays relatively within his vocal range, without going off too high or too low. as such, the song sounds very calming, with the beat having very little percussion throughout the song, and only intensifies slightly during the chorus.
in the first 2 verses, there’s barely any percussion, and it sounds as if Jimin was singing in some empty space except for that constant sound that actually is off beat - in a way that it does start on the 1st count and continues to the 2nd but the 3rd count is not consistently heard and often the 4th count sounds delayed. this results into hearing the 4th count right before Jimin sings the next word/phrase - it helps to make the pauses between his singing of phrases more clearer and distinct.
afterwards, in the 3rd verse, the percussion comes in, though still limited, just a bit of the snare drum on the 2nd and 4th count. the electro synth comes in alternatively and actually starts on the 3rd count and extends all the way to the 4th, keeping the 2nd count of the drum constant throughout. the 1st count is consistent throughout but if theres no electro synth between the phrases, the 3rd count is pretty redundant as theres no beat to back it up.
the next chunk of the song is when Jimin starts singing about the penicillin, in which the percussion tones down a lot, to make way for the guitar riffs which are aligned to his singing, when he slurs and extends the lyrics. you could clearly hear the change in chords and the soft piano inside.
the next part, the percussion resumes but Jimin’s singing intensifies in a way that he adjusts the lyrics to be sung in a higher register in a more breathy manner, probably a mixture of head voice and falsetto.
the last part, the beat dies down with the piano coming in and a few chords of the guitar being strummed. Jimin is barely singing at this point and in a way, he's reading the lyrics instead but in a soft whisper yet still ensuring that he extends the ‘you’ at the end.
for some reason, i could not grasp the song in a way that i was not head over heels for it, its not something that i listen to often. eventually, the song kinda grew onto me after hearing it on repeat. but upon hearing it, the song itself definitely had the feel of Namjoon inside. why? the beat itself is one thing but the witty lyrics is another. it gave the vibes of Reflection. both reflection and serendipity did not have a very hard beat or bass line and was relatively toned down with sharp contrasts in between the verses.
aesthetics: the video itself was aesthetically pleasing, of course the work of Lumpens. the whole video has a pretty fixed set of colours and a certain theme - mainly the visuals of yellow, blue, and white with the focus of minimalism.
many have mentioned before that Jimin looks like the Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, just like the prince who has bright yellow hair who visited various planets and eventually going to Earth in which the author meets him.
The Little Prince is a book that is meant to target the adults audience, though widely viewed as a children's book. ( Reference )
this scene of the world is common with the highlight reel videos as seen in the 1st one
Tumblr media
the colour schemes are evident
yellow ( the pale kind, close to being sickly )
Tumblr media Tumblr media
this scene above can be seen similar to Edward Hopper’s Rooms By the Sea, 1951 which was an oil painting with the concept of surrealism
Tumblr media
blue ( leaning between the various shades of mint blue, grey blue, navy blue etc )
the prick on his finger that bled, that will eventually be zoomed in to show the universe
ironically it may mean how it could be felt in his blood - the feelings of love, possibly admiration and intimacy coursing through him as he tries to convey that the love of his life is his universe
that would be an interesting point though, then DNA would make a lot of sense being the title track since our blood contains DNA.
Tumblr media
the frame prior to this shows the beams of yellow to be strikingly yellow which actually brings back the colour palette of yellow again, focusing on those two primary colours - yellow and blue
Tumblr media Tumblr media
white, that contrasts everything
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and the concept of minimalism
Tumblr media Tumblr media
yet theres the sudden outburst of purple when the ‘universe’ is involved with jimin falling inside it. the outburst of purple doesn't look so distorted in our eyes since its still a secondary color but more often, we tend to focus on the yellow that has been introduced in the beginning of the video. yet in the next few frames, this burst of colour is traded to a pink-turuoqise combination that will eventually pan out to Jimin’s grey contacts.
notice how the burst of colour remains relatively circular, which actually makes it easier to join the frames to link to the contacts of the pupil in Jimin’s eyes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
in between the video, there’s the movement of the eclipse, both before and after.
there was an actual brief theory about this whole eclipse movement but i cant remember where it was from youtube under the comments.
Tumblr media
upon the eclipse, notice how the world seemed to be chaotic with the movement of gusts of wind, thrown bowls, crashing waves and the zoom in of the water splashing in between the cup, but despite that, Jimin seemed to be happy, satisfied and content.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
though once the eclipse is over, the minimalism seeps back in, with him sitting in a chair, in a room of 4 white walls, with anything but the yellow blanket.
this probably isn't a good sign as it if often seen in mental asylums and his outfit either way doesn't do much justice to point out that this may not be the case.
at the end, the camera zooms in on Jimin and he sings/says the last few words of the song, ‘Let Me Love Let Me Love You’.
Tumblr media
its a nice way to kill me, thanks. but notice how the brightness and overexposure just shot up 100x more towards the end, in contrast to the darker frames throughout the video. somehow, the video seemed more balanced with this white frame in contrast with the blue ones, so technically, in my eyes, they're not in any discomfort, its not an exact striking white but its enough to counter the dark blue frames.
i think that this video was pleasing to me with the fixed colour palettes thats constantly being reinforced and should there be an introduction of any new colours, it will eventually link back to the default palette set.
minimalism was used inside but it was still counter with the close ups of Jimin on the bed, panning out in the background or with the cat underneath the moonlight.
Tumblr media
lyrics: the lyrics are pretty standard really, theres nothing really exciting about it since it revolves around the concept of love. with the usual lyrics of how fated the lovers are the moment the universe was created and how its not fate but destiny that led to them like this.
이 모든 건 우연이 아냐 = None of this is a coincidence , 너와 내 행복은 예정됐던 걸 = Because our happiness has been planned, 우주가 처음 생겨났을 때부터 모든 건 정해진 거였어 = Ever since the universe was first formed Everything has been planned
then again, love is a cliche topic. but what made it interesting was its title, Serendipity = the occurrence and development of events by chance in a happy or beneficial way. ( Reference ) and how the lyrics, 넌 내 푸른 곰팡이 = You are my penicillin is linked to the next line, 날 구원 준 = You saved me.
Penicillin, or what bangtan calls it which is blue mold, is an antibiotic that was discovered by Alexander Fleming back in the 1940s with the unprecedented rise of diseases due to the myriad of bacteria. the discovery of this penicillin was considered to be a serendipitous one. ( look at the paragraphs under the subtitle: History-Discovery ) eventually, this penicillin managed to save many people from dying from diseases that it was eventually mass produced. in this case, the lyrics are comparing the lover to saving him.
The part about calico cats is that they were seen as a good luck omen and to this day are placed in the entrances of homes and businesses everywhere. ( Reference ). By incorporating it in the lyrics, 난 네 삼색 고양이 널 만나러 온 = im your tricolor cat, here to meet you means that Jimin is the one that will bring good luck and omen.
this could be linked to the chaos during the eclipse etc, saying that with him, eventually it will all stop and calm down.
but then again it ends off to link the song back to the concept of letting someone to love you. which to me is strange because the way that is phrased, ‘let me love you’ is asking for permission to love someone, not something that many of us do. often we just fall for someone and then ask them out but we dont really tell someone, ‘let me love you’. so to me, its refreshing to hear.
i think the witty lyrics were done well, something that namjoon is actually very capable of and only if you knew about the stories underlying the lyrics would make you to understand and appreciate the song more.
last thoughts: this intro is done well, and it definitely did summarise the concept of love in full in my opinion, starting the album softly, building that climax for the title track to fill in.

12x13 watching notes
I’m posting this but you can pretty much watch my soul depart my body while reading so idk how entertaining it is to read because I got bored, not angry :P
Expectations? Well apparently the subplot is Dagon, who has been apparently by IMDB last time I checked cast as an asian actress, so she's going to die and that's going to be enraging (and it's Buckleming so she'll probably die of stupid, in a weird ass way) and she's hanging with Kelly and Lucifer's baby so THAT's going to be a disaster, so the subplot is already making my brain itch.
The main plot, on the other hand, I am ready to mock gleefully whichever way it comes and expect better than average Buckleming-ing because it's the MacLeods and they like them and put in extra effort. It's going to be like the true Dabb vs cars test - can he wrangle Buckleming to fix the plot hole that's existed basically the entire time I've been in fandom or will it remain hilariously open despite all this revisiting of the past and fixing, like, everything, that's been going on... Are they a law unto themselves or can they fall in line and deliver one of these Dabb-era canon reworkings that address what the fans want to see (aka, no stupid plotholes)? The plothole is SO egrarious they aaalmost pointed it out themselves in 9x21, commenting about how it was bad to keep Gavin from his proper death, but we have never seen COSMIC CONSEQUENCES from it, which are sort of a thing right now...
Though 9x21 has a whole little scene mocking fans, so idk how Buckleming feel but being nice to us is probably their last priority these days and they really do not fit in with all the other writers who are making love to the show :P
-
Recappy of 9x21 which I watched, like, the day before yesterday, so we're good. I do wonder if Sam and Dean not knowing the exposition of who Gavin is and what happened to him is the plothole already erasing their memories of 6x04.
Like, Crowley has to explain because even HE doesn't remember that incident, he just knows this about Gavin's ship??
Or will the recappy carry on with 6x04...
The good news is we get Sam delivering the line about Coooosmic Consequeeences again IN the recap. This automatically improves my mood.
Nah, on to "What the hell is a prince of hell" exposition without showing Gavin asking Crowley if he was one and Crowley cheekily handing him the title before regretting it and telling him not to ever mention it again, because one or the other of the 3 remaining Princes of Hell may have come for him :P
Poor Cas delivering clearly understandable exposition while bleeding into the Plaid Sofa - if the Princes keep being a thing then we're gonna see that a lot.
Oh thank fuck for Davy Perez and his clearly understandable one line exposition - Ramiel also mentioned the bun in the oven and his sister Dagon in one sentence and spared us clumsy Buckleming recapping of cobbling together a whole montage about this from various hints in the episode.
Listen I've done my rewatch up to where I joined in with fandom so I have now survived the recap of every single Buckleming episode while wryly commenting on it or watching fandom snark about it, and that's probably one of their best because it's so concise I would not have credited them
-
*random generic ghost death after an incredbly long time watching this lady's bedtime routine* After 12 seasons I'm pretty numb to these deaths, which makes all the suspense kind of time wasting unless it's really well done or contains really obvious hints about the plot - ah well, it wasn't offensive and minimally gross on this show's scale, so :P
-
Can't believe Dean doesn't sign off with "thanks babe" when talking to Cas. It would be so easy I'm actually confused when it doesn't happen.
He's out of focus but is he wearing a brand new purple shirt? Also have we seen Jensen wearing this at cons? The colour scheme is vaguely familiar but I may just be getting used to Dean wearing purple. Sam keeps swinging between blue and red (they're in the same scheme as last episode, purple and blue, here) and red and blue are the conflict colours - Dean's plaid has been suggesting unification and resolution especially given the colours he wore to talk God and Amara out of it. Purple is the natural extension of that where everything's mixed... or it's totally other symbolism of purple, but I like contrasting him and Sam, and Sam HAS been wearing red and blue at random, seeming a lot more scattered. And he's not talking to Mary.
Anyway the pattern of the plaid looks weirdly flat and 2-tone to me which is probably a commentary on the writing skills of the duo :P
-
Mary and Ketch are in this episode. It's starting to seem really cluttered but hey I guess they're busy working on something? Could be a random lead in to next episode.
Could be classic Buckleming Clutter.
-
I should stop judging but I would be worried about fitting in a ghost hunt and Crowley, Rowena and Gavin chatting, never mind throwing in a side plot, never mind not just doing basic exposition about what Kelly's up to but making it complicated with another set of main characters >.>
I do like seeing Mary though so
-
Poor Cas being the only one not in the episode
-
Yeah Mary's wearing red and blue striped plaid. Her ring is tucked into her shirt, and she's having fun killing monsters and testing the BMoL's toys with Ketch, who has been a John parallel at the very least for his completely uncompromising approach to monsters. Now it seems he's training her up, testing her to kill monsters (which in this underground carpark vibe place but a ton of dead monsters around her and the implication it's training, makes me think of 8x17 and Cas being trained to kill Dean - is Mary being made to harden up against monsters even more - including family like Cas.
-
I'm sure this will go very well for her.
-
We cut to this because Dean mentioned how maybe Mary would want to work with them. He says they haven't seen her in a while, suggesting that a great deal of time has passed since 12x12 IF that was the last time they saw each other.
(I guess we have a huuuge fan fic gap now so Dean n Cas have probably been together for a few weeks at least)
I suppose all these time skips this part of the season are because there's a baby situation going on and they want to escalate it...
-
I almost commented on Ketch's suit but realised I was about to compare it to Joan Watson because I did watch Elementary at some undisclosed point during these notes so far :P
-
His stop watch thing seems like a gimmick playing off last episode though. Mary and timing - she refused to give up the colt while Ramiel had a stopwatch countdown. Now Ketch is timing her. She feels she's on borrowed time...
I'm sure this will go well for her.
-
Blatant Dean reference is blatant when Mary claims she's hanging out watching pay per view and using the magic fingers. Filed under: ... do Buckleming realise how suggestive that was always meant to sound when Dean said it? Why is Mary telling Dean this. Sam always looks horrified when he catches Dean using magic fingers. THE GIFS OF HIM DOING IT.
Oh well. Buckleming.
-
And then Mary says she's still resting up from the Ramiel thing. Honestly, my BFF might be shipping Mary and Cas to my despair but think about Sam and Dean - their mom and BFF are constantly not around and complaining about no leads on the case, just, like, resting up...
"You're an excellent liar, Mary" It is a family thing.
Has Ketch REALLY, REALLY never been told, put 2 and 2 together or otherwise had it made clear to him that Sam and Dean don't know Mary is working with them? Sure Sam and Dean saw them help in 12x09 but there's something different between calling for help and accepting the proposal and they KNOW they'd be suspicious to work with them after Toni
(Poor Toni, character assassinated in 2 episodes by Buckleming, who are now explaining her away as a rogue operative because they made her go past a point of no return and now she's been ditched from the story... Imagine if that happened happened and she was still allowed to be around without the very well-justified reason she's now the face of the BMoL torturing Sam and Dean and can't be allowed near them. And we thought from 12x01 she had a ton of potential to be interesting and nuanced and all... Argh)
Anyway this makes it very clear they're untrustworthy to work with because of the way they have to be all unsubtle about Ketch thinking that Toni went too far when SHE thinks HE's the psycho.
-
"So... drink?" Oh, they're dating now I guess
-
Huh, Crowley. Randomly. Whyyy.
I mean, why didn't they give him an episode to be all weird and sketchy about having Lucifer in his basement while dealing with his family nonsense without SHOWING him having Lucifer in his basement? 12x12 was slick but obviously did not have time to focus on that... Following it with what should be a Crowley-related fluff family episode about Gavin being useless and dorky (I assume. I watched 9x21 too recently and I'm helplessly attached to the doofus again) and Crowley, well, we could have shown him, like Mary being sketchy about the BMoL or Cas in season 6 being sketchy about working with Crowley, just kind of... itchy about time and what he can do and generally having a load of tells something's up... Keep Lucifer out of the episode entirely and focus on Crowley's emotional state to sort of retroactively add the emotional stuff that had to be left out for time and drama last time.
Like, 12x12 was so full on, you need a REST episode after which you think Gavin's return would be perfect MacLeod fluff, and we keep Lucifer away
But nah he's here so suddenly we have to see him and see Crowley interacting with him, and all that subtle menace and whatever from the end of 12x12 evaporates because we're just leaping right in. We shouldn't have seen Crowley until whatever brings him to hang out with the rest of the MacLeods later in the episode (as I'm pretty sure we saw them doing in a promo)
Ugh. :P
-
Maybe I'm just being picky but I did NOT want to see Lucifer again immediately, and Crowley keeping that secret, and sure WE know he has Lucifer in his basement but no one else does so now we know Crowley's secret, tell it like he has one! Don't show us more!! LESS IS MORE
-
Also whenever Crowley lectures Lucifer it just reeks of hubris like this is going to blow up in Crowley's face and now it feels like it's going to Buckleming up in his face instead of the more subtle way it could have gone.
Since they're now explaining how Crowley stole a Lucifer for himself.
Maybe Rowena knows he has him but in that case you think they'd use 12x11 to hint there's more Dean doesn't remember or shouldn't remember, OR have Rowena tease him on screen that she knows stuff he'd die to know if only he knew he had to know it :P
-
Oh, nope, he just sabotaged it somehow. Even Rowena doesn't know.
-
I know I have a lot of headaches pretty much permanently but there's one that shows up in a little line just above my eye that I'm sure is tuned only to the frequency of Buckleming episodes and only shows up when I watch one.
I'm burning a candle to ward off evil spirits.
-
Didn't work
Just keysmashed at Mittens and went to go get another cup of tea. Buckleming... Pls. we're 5 minutes into the episode.
I mean in the interest of explaining random things that fans might complain about, explaining why Lucifer is Nick again is... I suppose... an effort...
I SUPPOSE it interests Crowley to collect everything remotely useful connected to Lucifer.
His diary for the week after Swan Song is packed.
I mean we always knew he was snooping around doing various behind the scenes things, but aside from anything else that's too much ass-pulling by saying Crowley did this Crowley did that 6-7 years ago in a row.
Not sure I can look directly at the rest of anything else that happened in the last minute of screen time :P
-
Lucifer snarks about how stupid this all is. Including also pointing out something that was bugging me that I wasn't going to mention, that Crowley isn't even keeping Lucifer down in Hell where he can be SOMEWHAT contained, but he's got him surface level in his usual dingy rooms.
That comment is just inserting an eye roll :P
-
Dean is suspicious about Mary's motives for being busy, while Sam is eager to explain it away, which I'm not even sure is flipping their positions about it or not, because Dean has been grumpy about Mary not wanting to hang out with them, but Sam was explaining THAT away too, so he mostly seems to be reacting to what Dean says in defence of Mary, which I guess may be making him less critical of her actions as he's getting to them through the filter of Dean complaining about her staying away or being weird. But of the 2 of them (while Cas has a few more reasons to be suspicious than her sons as of 12x12) Sam has more reason to seem suspicious of her because he was the one asking Mary how she was and asking Mary what SHE got them into last time.
-
Maybe they're both sort of suspicious but beither wants to commit.
-
Oh god we don't have to watch a guy die while he's peeing do we?
-
oh good >.> He's just going to die randomly in this creepy bathroom
Does he have no preservation instinct
-
Did Sam just say something about ADHD ghosts? Or was it something else and my hearing is messed up? It honestly barely makes sense in context because he was talking about how there's just a ton of haunted stuff at museums but obviously most of them don't seem to be aggressively haunted like this. (And I think it's a nice detail to assume that there's a lot of potential ghost activity at museums given they're ancient artefact-collecting places and those are the exact sort of things that might have a spirit attached.
maybe he said ancient ghosts.
Maybe I will assume he did even if it turns out to be "ADHD" when someone finds the captions for it because that makes more sense >.>
-
*Dean messes with some priceless artefact weapons and we cringe as he drops them and wonder if this is a metaphor for Buckleming handling canon*
-
Okay one small good thing: Dean remembers the detail about Gavin's ship.
Whether this is because Crowley told them or Bobby told them, I have no fucking clue but 6x04 only exists if Gavin is slam dunked back into his watery grave, so. Probably Crowley.
Anyway yay Dean's photographic memory.
-
I actually had to go check with Mittens and demand spoilers if this ever gets addressed and fucking hell Crowley thinks the Winchesters actually killed the Nephilim already what the fuck what the fuck WHAT THE FUCK
-
Fortunately on that note it's dinner time and I'm putting 7x20 on.
-
Oh my god Crowley thinks the Winchesters killed the Nephilim??? THEY WERE ARRESTED MOMENTS LATER
HOW DO YOU FUCK UP SO BADLY YOU PUT PLOTHOLES IN YOUR OWN WRITING FROM LITERALLY THE LAST TIME YOU WROTE FOR THIS SHOW?
Does he think Cas did it??
he maaagically knows EVERYTHING ELSE THAT HAPPENS EVER INCLUDING ANY PLOTHOLE FROM 10 YEARS AGO THEY WANT TO FILL
HOW
-
Why did Crowley have this conversation in the same room as Lucifer and not even try to hide what he was talking about from him?
unrelated side note: why did Crowley think Sam and Dean killed the baby?
-
Why did Lucifer say "Oh my dad" now the entire fandom has to stop making that joke ironically
-
maybe if I don't comment on this plotline at all it doesn't happen
-
Anyway! Sam and Dean stay at the museum overnight for some reason. Guess they really like the movies. Anyway they smuggled a Rowena in  with them. I should probably just stop asking questions at this point.
-
Sam has also decided to stop wearing his jacket and is distractingly beefy and this is not coming lightly from me, a person who has never really objectified Sam ever except for maybe a little in season 7 when he has that hair and sideburns combo
I clearly need something to distract me here :P
-
Also the last scene involved a lingering close up of a lady's chest. In a coat, but still. Dodgy camerawork to accompany everything else.
-
*Sam casually manhandles Rowena and pfft I don't wanna ship it but yikes it's a messed up brilliant ship for Sam*
Dean has already kind of decided Rowena is OK, but Sam still has some serious issues and is also apparently grabby with her and well, 10x19 is still a thing, and... just gimme witch Sam already
-
Oh yep there's Dagon. Now don't die. Already killed the angel in the black vessel, so this is all going well >.>
Blah blah usual line about demons being more sympathetic than angels and Lucifer is just misunderstood. Dagon's pretty cool but she is just reciting pretty much word for word other lines about Lucifer or angels or demons that other characters have already said in more dramatic and weighty episodes.
She does seem more sympathetic about the whole Lucifer's baby thing than anyone else so far.
Also how did random angels track Kelly when Cas couldn't
Also how did Dagon track her etc
The wide shot reveals the absolutely standard boots for female characters on TV which I started noticing and getting bemused about in Person of Interest and then I realised badasses like Parker wore them in Leverage, and now I can't stop seeing the everywhere on Action Female Characters I guess because there's a certain amount of high heel where you can kick butt and still run around. They still seem really unpractical compared to wearing non-heeled shoes but I suppose they're the limit for actresses who have to wear them all day. Eh.
Anyway Dagon seems nice and they have the same taste in boots so I guess they can be BFFs now.
-
Oh my god we're past the midway point of the episode and finally we get to the promo scene which seemed like it had been at the start of the episode.
Nice to see this is getting the appropriate amount of emotional weight.
At least Dean's wearing his Cas plaid/plaid that looks like the sofa/TFW plaid
Sam is back in red.
-
GAVIIIIIIIN
-
I like how they said Crowley was sick to get him here... Crowley is kinda fucked over but not in that way.
Also what a gullible cookie to believe Crowley might get sick.
he doesn't know aaanything
-
"That's my ship!" "should've been"
YEAH GAVIN GET ON THAT SHIP
-
He's so sweet. "Oooh! There's Mr MacCallum(?)'s hook! Had no hand, ye see."
I feel weirdly proud of him
-
Oh wow I'm Rowena in this scene
-
Boooooring he had a girlfriend
-
I mean I still love and support him but I am disappointed because 9x21 had that ambiguous guy who seemed to feel right at home in Gavin's one-bed room and assumed they were hooking up with Abaddon
oh well maybe Gavin thought he was single again what with the going to America thing/things had been complicated because of this guy and they were going to America together and Gavin retroactively was already feeling reeeeeally guilty about it before this all came back to - heh - haunt him. Maybe that's why he thought he was going to Hell - he was fucking off to America with his boyfriend after dumping Fiona because he was worried to take her with him for justifiable reasons about ship safety.
-
SNOW
-
I think there was some earlier in the dark but it was boring and dark
-
Also hi I never see snow :P
-
Mr Ketch still pestering Mary for a drink. He's really into her. Goes and brings up her kids though "It might be best if you were to... disengage from them, for a bit." - dude, that's all she's done all season
Oh look and her ring's back out in plain sight. (She's also wearing a grey plaid - totally drained of colour - "nothing comes before my family"
Oh he's REALLY hitting on her now, telling her she's the best hunter he's ever seen and she might play at being mummy, but blah blah blatant Mark of Cain Dean parallels about blade in her hand blood in the air that's the real you
"The best you"
And yeah all that same paralleling about how it scares her to be a killer etc that Dean goes through
As well as the "you play at - " phrasing that was so horrible levelled at Cas in 9x22 about playing at being one of the angels.
-
This random museum lady has a ring on her necklace. She hasn't really done enough to be a Mary mirror?
Maybe things will change. At least for now she's just misplaced part of her exhibit because ghosts :P
-
Pretty sure we saw the ghost go after the white lady but honestly knowing this show I'm kind of worried for her friend
Welp it's still chasing her
Ooh yay Winchesters saved her
-
No time for character development. Too much going on. Gavin is already confronting his dead girlfriend
-
I guess this is how Gavin gets talked to go on the ship, so he can protect her >.>
-
They're blatantly just saying they can't burn the locket to justify sending Gavin back
I didn't watch 7x19 because I didn't want to put myself through it, but it does include a ghost having both bones and an item he's connected to aside from that he uses to move around, so I guess it's pre-existing Buckleming canon and I'm glad I remembered that without havig to relive the episode
-
"You don't intend to tamper with the flow of time, do ye?" Do they hear the dialogue they write? :P Gavin... literally... is here... tampering with the flow of time... Sam and Dean are just sticking up for the exact thing they've always said about putting Gavin back where Abaddon found him.
-
I guess Rowena is protesting because she likes him, but still... She might have found a better way to say it
-
Awww no Gavin is alone someone please give him a hug
Well Rowena did earlier
more hugs for Gavin... at this point all I want out of the episode. I'm still watching FOR Gavin
-
Hey Crowley. Popping up out of the blue with no explanation to defend Gavin some more.
-
This is kind of anvil heavy about someone from the past deciding to go back because they don't fit in and there are loved ones back there which is all horribly grim Mary-related stuff >.>
-
Though she doesn't have a "past" to return to, just Heaven, and we've had periodic opportunities for her to go back throughout the season so idk if it's maintaining the threat until the last minute like the way Dean suffered in season 11 with the temptation of Amara/the Empty that she represented, or just foreshadowing. Outside of Buckleming episodes I feel Dabb era is kind of more nuanced, but we'll see...
-
*stares at the emotional beats in this scene some more* honestly that could have been worse. Crowley was probably way too over-emotional about it considering he resented that he didn't want Gavin to die in 9x21... Not sure that making him cry was particularly kind to him although maybe he's learned to stop hissing in horror at feelings and never really got better, just manages it more... Anyway, his attachment to Gavin is completely hypothetical since he's ditched him in the future without a glance back except for sulking about feelings some more. Idk maybe he's been keeping a better eye on him than he has on with Winchesters or he'd fuckin' know that they were still desperately looking for Kelly.
I suppose Cas has been shouldering that one more than the Winchesters, and he'd not chat to Crowley about it all.
Hrm.
Anyway, trite emotional scene and then they take Gavin off and just leave Rowena? Even Baby looks embarassed to be in this episode. Rowena didn't even come to see Gavin off??
-
I'm glad their weird Latin spellbook helpfully has just the ingredients of the spell helpfully also listed in English just in case you were curious what they were/didn't remember them from last time
-
Eehehe the jar of angel feathers
-
Henry Winchester nostalgia
"and Abaddon" I'm amazed the sad music didn't record scratch
-
Also they're not even using the door.
-
"Oh this is a tough one" Aw Dean don't get too over emotional :S
-
*Sam notices a fly or something in the background while Dean looks all sappy about a love story*
Ugh I'll let Gavin have that. It makes no sense whatsoever how she appeared like that but okay :P They wanted to show us that I guess instead of just zapping Gavin back. Over-tell everything!!
-
Anyway I guess "Dabb vs cars" is now to be tagged with a strong sense of pride :P
Although also some disappointment he still has to deal with Buckleming
-
Also so this episode is still going on
-
They rewrote history
-
MARY
-
She brought food!
-
Terrifyingly coded food because Mom Beer and the betrayal burgers which date back to Cas in season 6
Dean is dramatic
-
Also they've changed clothes so this may be up to 3 months later
-
Oh dear, I think she's about to tell them she's hooked up with Mr Ketch in a Buckleming episode
-
You know my terror of them fucking this up is actually making it seem like this conversation is going better than it could have. I've only been annoyed with like two details of charactersation/silly dialogue choices so far :P
Dean's just done the despairing blink realising that family is waaaaaay more complicated than just saying they're family
-
Which he already knew but he has to go through it with Mary because this has been about tearing down all his notions about her and it doesn't work unless he's at least a LITTLE bit betrayed by her.
-
Rowena and Crowley... okay that wasn't the end of the episode.
Yay Rowena I guess :P I can't believe anyone still remembered 10x23 - we were sort of mostly pretending it didn't happen. (Also blaming Crowley for everything, not Sam even though he's the one who started it) - but Rowena remembered >.> And she rights the wrongs done against her. Always.
-
*random spooky end*

It feels like it’s been a while since I’ve done a gallery post. I wonder if I’ll remember how to do it. Actually it feels like it’s been a while since I’ve review Fire Force at all. If you want to see if I remembered how to do that, please go take a look over on 100 Word Anime.
And you know what, I still think Fire Force is a beautiful anime. It can be a bit gimmicky in the production but I’m a simple soul. Gimmicks work on me!
You see that sky scene with all the rooftops? Left side, third row. Why is that sky so yellow? I actually noticed it as I was watching. It was a complete palette shift just for that one shot. That’s so weird. Fire Force hasn’t done anything like that before and it’s been so deliberate about colours. I have no clue what it means but it really hit me.
That lantern was used to bookend the episode and I really like that. It’s a lantern! As in fire. We don’t see it but we know it so it’s thematically important. And the old fashioned design really fits in with company 7 and their whole deal.
In the early episodes Fire Force had those purple/orange sunsets but lately we’ve been getting bleak yellow. Things are going to get worse before they get better.
Benimaru seems to be colour coded in dark blue which completely clashes with most scenes and makes him stand out. You know, in case the tic tac toe eyes were too subtle….
The bad guys faces in that last image really crack me up. I mean they just look so derpy. I wish they had some thin curly moustaches to twirl. That would have really classed everything up!
Shinra and Maki looking up at the sky was a pretty scene and really reminded me of Given. It’s not like it’s a rare composition in anime. Hunter x Hunter had lots of those scenes too but it’s a visual trope I really like and Given did it quite well. Plus I just saw the show. I’m happy to see it used in Fire Force as well.
In general, Fire Force is pretty consistent in using a lot of sky in its compositions. It makes  scenes look huge. Since it also has very crowded cityscapes (crowded with buildings not so many people), having so much sky against them really opens up the space and artificially make the cities seem more lively by contrast without the need to actually animate anything.
I ended up with quite a few close ups of Benimaru this week. It may or may not become a running theme… This said, this guy’s expression really does not change much does it. It’s not completely set in stone but he went from relived to happy to furious during this episode and you can hardly see any change.
Shinra on the other hand was blushing, laughing, nervously smiling and angrily scowling. He’s just about the opposite. You can read everything on his face. The fact that we have both is what makes it nice. We know that it’s an artist choice rather than a lazy animator.
The lantern again! Only this time it’s in a much colder scene just like the atmosphere of the show!
I’m not sure if we’ve ever scene a purple colour scheme in Fire Force. It certainly seemed unusual to me. It’s a very relaxing effect, isn’t it? Purple is supposed to be associated with wisdom which seems appropriate for Koro. He certainly strikes me as the reasonable one.
Well they look the exact same age. Too bad, I like when characters look younger then what we’re use to.  One thing is a little different though. That’s quite the expression Benimaru is making in the second row, left side. Seems the boy use to be a lot more expressive than he is now.
Don’t infernals always look like demons? Why were they surprised?
And this was this week’s Fire Force in images. I ho0pw you enjoyed it!
Fire Force Episode 12 – Called It – Gallery It feels like it's been a while since I've done a gallery post. I wonder if I'll remember how to do it.

What colour should I paint my shed?
I have been debating the crucial issue of what colour to paint my shed.
Painting your shed transforms your garden. And if I paint my shed, it’ll also last longer. The wood is protected by the paint or stain.
I love Wenche Immink’s pale shed – she used just one coat of a pebble grey exterior paint. Wenche’s garden is open for Faversham Open Gardens & Garden Market Day, June 25th. It’s Garden 13.
Of course I also dream about a more dramatic transformation. I pored over the results of  the first ever Grand Shed Project at this year’s Grand Designs Live, which was sponsored by AXA Insurance.
This featured five inspirations for transforming garden sheds, including a Reading Snug, Sewing Shack, Miami South Beach Bar, Boutique Bedroom and an Outdoor Room. You can see them here, and AXA Insurance are also sponsoring this post.
I would adore a Reading Snug, but, for the time being, I am just going to paint my shed.
But what colour to choose?
Vintage-style blues, greys and greens must be the most loved shed colours at the moment. Who can resist a duck-egg blue shed with eaves and a window?
Lindsay’s shed is such a pretty blue and goes well with her planting.
Location, location, location…
The first thing to consider is where is your shed, and what is it for? Our new shed has been designed to merge with the fence. We want it to minimise its impact, not make it a focal point.
Greens and blues are wonderful garden colours, and blend into the landscape.
Green – especially dark green – helps a shed blend into its surroundings and is also attractive in its own right. This shed is seen on the Stonebridge Pond Allotments in Faversham (open for Faversham Open Gardens & Garden Market Day).
But if your shed is a focal point for the garden, the colour decision will be different.
Choose a pale romantic shade for your shed…
If you’re thinking of a pale colour, then test it carefully to see how it behaves out of doors. If you’re using a specialist outdoor paint such as Ronseal or Cuprinol, the colours seem to come out fairly close to what you might expect.
Wenche’s shed is ‘romantic’, with its white rose climbers.
However if you use exterior or interior versions of paint ranges designed mainly for indoors, I have discovered that the shades look much paler outside under the sky.
For example, we previously painted our back gate in Farrow & Ball Hardwick White. This appears to be a mid grey inside but properly white outside.
This colour – Hardwick White – appears mid grey inside (in our house anyway). So maybe go a shade or two darker to get the effect you want.
When trying out pale paint shades for your shed, you may need to go two or three shades darker to get the effect you want.
Be bold and paint your shed a bright colour
I love Angie’s lime-painted shed with its contrasting purple bird feeder.
There are some more brightly-coloured sheds in Revamp your shed – a short and easy guide here.
A white shed?
White sheds can be stunning. You might worry about white getting dirty. However, we had the back door (above the photo of the lime green shed) painted in Hardwick White for about seven years without repainting it. It does look a little grubby in the photo, but nothing that the odd wash wouldn’t have remedied.
White sheds can be romantic, seaside or modernist.
This shed in a seaside-themed garden in Whitstable is painted white, as is the fence around it. It’s in Clare Road, Whitstable, and is the view from a room available through Airbnb.
Tie in your shed colour with your border scheme.
Rosie Turner’s bright pink shed has featured on this blog before, and it’s always very popular.
Rosie Turner’s pink shed is a backdrop for her ‘pink garden.’
She chose this shade (  from Cuprinol) because she has a long thin town garden, with everything on view from the house. The theme of the garden is pink. She has crab apples, pink clematis, pink hebes, pink peonies and more.
Rosie Turner’s shed echoes her planting.
If you’re wondering whether you need to re-paint bright colours on sheds more often than darker colours, Rosie’s shed first appeared in 8 really simple, cheap ways of transforming your shed in 2014. The photographs above were taken three years later. She hasn’t re-painted in that time.
Go over to the dark side…
Award-winning garden designer Charlotte Rowe once told me that dark colours make a boundary recede. In 12 Creative Tips For an Urban Garden, she explained that she often uses dark shades for fencing.
I also think there’s a big move towards using chunks of dark in kitchens. (Put ‘contemporary kitchens’ or ‘kitchen decor’ into Pinterest if you don’t believe me.) We’re about to re-vamp the kitchen and I’d like to echo the paint shade both inside and outside the kitchen window.
And when I wrote about the renovation of architect Tom Croft’s garden, I was really struck by how wonderful dark green doors looked.
This barn door is painted in Amsterdam Green (Sanderson paints). I love it, and strongly considered it for my shed.
So I decided to paint my shed dark. That’s partly because the shed in question is practical. It’s not one of those sheds that serves as a pretty focal point. It has been designed to blend into the fencing line.
Farrow & Ball Black Blue on the new shed.
But the final choice is Farrow & Ball’s Exterior paint in Black Blue. The shed has ‘disappeared’, and people don’t seem to notice it all.
‘We’ve painted the shed since you were last here,’ I say, encouragingly, when people come round. They look somewhat bemused and seem unable to spot a shed at all.
The shed before painting. Don’t tell me you preferred it like this!
And the side view…
This was the previous shed in this position – sorry about the poor quality of the pic, but you get the idea.
Paint the shed door in a contrasting colour
Painting your shed door in a contrasting colour – or just painting the door and leaving the rest of the shed as plain wood or brick – can be remarkably effective.
This is a very attractive shed in Anna Turner’s garden in Deal.
A Plankbridge ‘shepherd’s hut’ with a contrasting door. Once again, the dark blue makes the hut almost fade into the background.
Jacqui and Richard Drew’s shed with a contrasting door. They are Garden 31 in Faversham Open Gardens on June 25th. Photo by Richard Drew.
And I didn’t just paint my shed…
We now have so many different elements on our terrace. There’s the shed, plus a bin store, log store, brown back door, white side gate and green water butt.
We decided that it would be calmer to paint everything the same colour.
The back gate, the bin store and the log store are all painted in Farrow & Ball Black Blue.
What the bin store and log store looked like before they were painted. The back gate was white, and our back door was brown. We bought the bin and log store from Wayfair.
We even had the water butt painted. It was an old green plastic water butt. I researched online to find an attractive alternative.
We painted the water butt to match the shed. It was green before.
The nice water butts were quite expensive, though. It was much cheaper simply to use the same paint we used for the shed. It may not last long – although it’s been four months now with no sign of it wearing off, in spite of some hard rains.
Wenche’s pale grey-white shed is a background for climbing roses. She’s painted the back gate the same colour. The bench and table in front of the shed are also painted in a harmonious wash.
Or do something dramatic…
I recently wrote about Jack and Carolyn Wahlberg’s charming small garden (Garden 36 in Faversham Open Gardens & Garden Market Day on June 25th). Jack has painted his shed and has also used CDs, which reflect in the sun.
Jack and Carolyn’s shed with its unusual treatment of CDs.
A shed at Sussex Prairie Gardens, covered in magazine covers. Possibly not the most long-lasting of treatments…but it’s fun.
The practicalities of painting your shed
When I decided to paint my shed, it was like doing a rain dance. The minute I bought the paint, the heavens opened.
We had booked a painter to paint my shed, and he had to cancel several times. You shouldn’t paint a wet shed. Or even a slightly damp shed. It must be properly dry, which means no rain for at least 48 hours.
If there’s any roughness, blistered paint or fungus, that needs treating first.
And there are counsels of perfection. Sand down the wood so that it is smoother. Use an undercoat. Use a spray paint for easier application (if you do, make sure the paint is suitable for use with a sprayer).
The log and bin store getting their primer (undercoat). They were both new so needed relatively little preparation.
You’ll need two coats, and it makes sense if one of those is a primer. But painting outside is much more forgiving than painting inside a house. It won’t matter so much if it isn’t quite perfect.
Wenche used just one coat of paint to get a washed or weathered effect.
We simply used some leftover Farrow & Ball interior emulsion paint on one of our sheds about 10 years ago and it’s lasted pretty well. It’s faded, but the effect is still much nicer than its original orangey-brown wood.
You can just see a standard brown wood shed at the end of this path.
The same shed, painted with a wash of leftover paint. Even in winter, I like it better. We did this seven years ago, so it’s worn well but the faded look is part of it.
For those of you planning to buy a new shed, there’s more advice on how to avoid buying the wrong garden shed here.
If you’d like to go further than just painting your shed, read about the Grand Design shed project sponsored by AXA here.
And let me know what colour you’ve painted your shed and how you chose it.

Fay Spring/Summer 2017 collection review
The Fay Spring/Summer 2017 collection has an urban vintage vibe while still being something fresh and new. The colours and patterns used in this collection are reminiscent of the 1960’s and 1970’s, the cut and style of the pieces in this collection make it new again.
Tumblr media
This first ensemble is made up of a dark navy cropped sweater and dark grey flared pants that are paired with sandals and a leather bag. I liked this ensemble because of the light coloured exposed seems in contrast with the dark coloured fabric as well as the designs on the right side of the cropped sweater. Overall, I think that this ensemble made sense and was put together well.
Tumblr media
The second ensemble is made up of a black top underneath a dark blue leather jacket and a black mid-thigh skirt paired with strappy knee-high shoes. I liked the contrast of the dark blue leather against the rest of the black pieces in this ensemble. I also thought that the gold accents on the belt and skirt were what made this ensemble really work and give the ensemble something more eye catching.
Tumblr media
The Third ensemble is made up of a high neck sleeveless light grey and blue top ad a green/grey mid-thigh knit skirt with grey details paired with black leather sandals and a tan bag. I think that the colours in this ensemble worked nicely with one another without looking cliché. I think coordinating the blue/grey colour on the top with the belt that sat at the waist was a good choice that helped tie the two pieces together.
Tumblr media
The Fourth ensemble is made up of a high neck, long sleeve blue/grey button down dress that cuts of at the mid-thigh that has been belted with a tan belt and is paired with brown sandals and a white bag. I think that this ensemble was simple without being over simplified. The belt and design on the collar of the dress was enough to me the ensemble eye catching while also keeping its overall appearance simple.
Tumblr media
The Fifth ensemble is made up of a navy green scoop neck tank top and a pair of green/grey high waisted baggy pants that is pared with grey and black sandals and a white bag. I think that pairing the low-neck line of the top with the high waist of the pants was a good choice and that the colours used in this ensemble flow well together but are all very distinct.
Tumblr media
The Sixth ensemble is made up of a button up, long sleeve dark green/grey patterned dress that ends at the mid-thigh and is belted paired with knee-high brown shoes and a blue bag. I think the light blue belt was a good choice for this piece or the patterned dress would have been overpowering. I also think that the blue bag was a good choice of this ensemble because it complements the colours of the dress.
Tumblr media
The seventh ensemble is made up of a light green long sleeved button down top and a green/brown/purple patterned skirt paired with a pair of grey knee-high shoes. I think that this ensemble was well balanced with the top and shoes being a light colour with little to know pattern and the skirt having a bold pattern with darker colours.
Tumblr media
The Eighth ensemble is made up of a long sleeve blue/green sheer top that has a lot of detailing and an scoop neckline and vibrant green pants that have been paired with black sandals and a black bag. I liked that detailing on the top both because of the textures it created as well as the colouring. This ensemble was also well balanced between the top with a lot of detail and the pants which were one solid colour.
Tumblr media
The Ninth ensemble is made up of a long sleeve button down dress that cuts off at the mid-thigh that has a yellow/orange/green/brown pattern that has been belted and is paired with black sandals. Although these colours aren’t ones a would normally pair together I do think that they work well for this ensemble.
Tumblr media
The Tenth ensemble is made up of a sleeveless high neck dress that has a yellow/orange/red/black pattern and has been belted and paired with a pair of black sandals. I really liked the small intricate pattern of the dress and that is was paired with a simple shoe that wouldn’t distract from the dress.
Tumblr media
The Eleventh ensemble is made up of a grey/brown distressed jacket with a high neck line that ends at about the hips and has been belted and a yellow/blue/brown pattern skirt that falls not much farther past the hemline of the jacket and is paired with golden sandals. I think that the pop of colour from the skirt and sandals balances out the colour of the jackets and that the belt breaks up the bulky shape of the jacket.
Tumblr media
The Twelfth ensemble is made up of a top that has a high neckline, wider sleeve that ends at about the elbow, and a yellow/blue/green pattern and a navy green skirt that has been belted and had been paired with gold knee-high shoes. I liked the unique shape of the top in this ensemble and though that the colours used in this ensemble went well with one another.
Tumblr media
The Thirteenth ensemble is made up of a cropped brown knit sleeveless top with a scoop neckline and brown flared pants that have been paired with black sandals and a grey and brown bag. The ensemble didn’t really “wow” me but I think that the colours coordinated well together and that the fastenings on the pants and top were a good touch.
Tumblr media
The Fourteenth ensemble is made up of a long light grey jacket that has long sleeves and a high neck line that has been belted and is paired with gold sandals. I liked the silver detailing on the jackets sleeves, collar, shoulders, and right side but I did think that this ensemble was a little top heavy.
Tumblr media
The Fifteenth ensemble is made up of a black ¼ sleeve top that have a beige design of the front and a belted pair of high waisted bright blue pants that have a tan hem and is paired with tan sandals. I did not like this ensemble. I didn’t the beige design on the top, I thought that the bright blue pants were out of place in his collection, and I thought that the sandals looked to bulky.
Tumblr media
The Sixteenth ensemble is made up of a grey jacket with a high neckline that has been belted and bright blue pants that have been paired with tan sandals. I did not think that this ensemble fit in with the rest of the collection. I liked the jacket and the sandals but, again, I don’t think that this bright blue fit into the rest of the collection.
Tumblr media
The Seventeenth ensemble is made up of a blue jacket over a green turtle neck that has been belted and a short brown skirt that is paired with brown knee-high shoes. I thought that this ensemble worked very well with the rest of the collection and that this shade of blue worked well both in the ensemble and the rest of the collection.
Tumblr media
The Eighteenth ensemble is made up of an off-white jacket the comes down to the knees and is belted and is paired with grey and black knee-high shoes. Although the colour scheme of the ensemble is much lighter then the rest of the ensembles in this collection, I think that this ensemble still works very well with the rest of the collection.
Tumblr media
The Nineteenth ensemble is made up of a dark navy long jacket that has silver details and is belted and paired with gold sandals. I like the contrast in this ensemble between the dark colour of the jacket and the silver details on the sleeves, shoulders, collar, right side, and pockets.
Tumblr media
The Twentieth ensemble is made up of a navy blue ¼ sleeve turtle-neck cropped top that has yellow stitching around the sleeves and neck line and a navy blue high-waisted distressed skirt that has been belted and is paired with brown knee-high shoes. I think that all the pieces in this ensemble went well together and that the yellow stitching on the top was really eye catching.
Tumblr media
The Twenty-First ensemble is made up of a light blue ¾ sleeve dress that has been belted with a light tan and gold belt and is paired with gold knee-high shoes. I really liked this ensemble, in fact it is probably my favourite of the collection. I think that the light blue colour of the dress went very well with the tan and gold colours from the belt and the shoes. I also thought that the silver studs on the dress made it a much more eye catching piece.
Tumblr media
The Twenty-Second ensemble is made up of a light grey knit sleeveless, scoop neck top and a light blue skirt that has studs around the top and the hemline that has been belted and is paired with black sandals. I think the grey colour of the top and the light blue of the skirt pair well because of their similar shade, and that the black of the belt and the sandals.
Tumblr media
The Twenty-Third ensemble is made up of a high neck sleeveless olive green top that has been belted with a black and gold belt and a pair of olive green pants that are paired with gold sandals. I really enjoyed the colours used in this ensemble and I think the small gold details on the jacket and the gold from the sandals goes well with the colour of the top and the pants.
Tumblr media
The Twenty- Fourth ensemble is made up of a sheer sleeveless deep scoop neck top that has silver details and cool-tone brown pants that are paired with gold sandals. This is another one of my favourites from this collection. I like how the cool-tone of the silver in the top and the cool-tone of the brown from the pants went together. I think my only criticism of this ensemble would be that I personally would have chosen a silver sandal instead of gold.
Tumblr media
The Twenty-Fifth ensemble is made up of a long dark brown/black jacket with a high collar that has been belted with a very warm-toned brown belt and has been paired with a pair of gold sandals. I think that the warm brown tones from the jacket and belt complemented the warm gold of the sandals. I think overall this was a well put together ensemble.
Tumblr media
The Twenty- Sixth ensemble is made up of grey high-collared long sleeve top that has silver details and baggy olive green pants paired with gold sandals. I liked the texture that the details on the shirt added to the piece and I think the looser fitting pants paired well with the more form fitting shirt.
Tumblr media
The Twenty-Seventh ensemble is made up of a light grey/blue long sleeve top with a high collar and high waisted grey knit skirt that has been belted with a warm-tone brown belt and paired with grey/black knee-high shoes and a green bag. I liked this ensemble, especially the details on the shirt collar, but I feel like it would have been complete with the bag.
Tumblr media
The Twenty-Eighth ensemble is made up of a vibrate green button down dress with long sleeves that has a flower pattern on the skirt and has been belted with a black belt and has been paired with gold sandals. I thought that this ensemble brought a more vibrate colour to the collection without this ensemble looking too in your face or out of place.
Tumblr media
The Twenty-Ninth ensemble is made up of a tan ½ sleeve button down top with a high collar and a vibrant green button down skirt with a large flower print on it that has been belted with a light green and gold belt and paired with brown knee-high shoes and a black and blue bag. This wasn’t a favourite look of mine from this collection, but overall, I think it was well put together I just didn’t really pop to me.
Tumblr media
The Thirtieth ensemble is made up of a blue and white flower print top that has long sleeves and a high collar and is pair with a blue skirt that has silver details at the hem-line and has been belted with a belt and gold belt and is paired with gold sandals and a warm-tone brown bag. This was another favourite ensemble of mine from this collection. I like how the belt, bag and sandals add some warm to the already beautiful blue shades used in the top and skirt.
Tumblr media
The Thirty- First ensemble is made up of a blue ½ sleeve high collared button down top that has white stitching and pants that are in a lighter shade of blue that also have white stitching that have been belted with a black and gold belt that are paired with white sandals and a brown bag. Although I don’t think that this ensemble fit in the best with this collection, I still liked this ensemble and thought it was well put together.
Tumblr media
The Last ensemble is made up of a dark navy jacket over top of a vibrant blue top that has been belted with a black and gold belt and bright blue loose fitting pants that have been paired with black knee-high shoes. This was another ensemble that I don’t quite fit with this collection, and again I don’t think the blue colour of the pants fit with this collection, but overall, I don’t think it was a bad ensemble.
