ykno im kinda.......rly glad gbf is doing more & more things to actually recognize how captain grew up without their dad. there’s a free quest where they & vyrn speak of that time when they played hide&seek with him but thats like one of the very few, if not only, time they actually speak about dad in a way that’s focused on captains experience. so im not sure...if captain even remembers their dad that much.

the anime aired in 2017, and aaron mentioned how bad gran’s behavior was, and katalina echoes it later when hearing how gran behaved growing up.

but after that it was very silent again until no rain no rainbow, which partly had a focus on captain struggling with their feelings towards it all, being angry for being left behind but also being upset about being angry about it (olivia’s skill ep has this behavior too, captain can’t forgive the stranger for putting lyria&vyrn in harms way but they also feel so bad about not being able to forgive them).

second season of the anime went.......hardcore with it. i still wish they did ferrys arc differently btu thats anOTHER TALK, but im not fully satisfied with how they dealt with grans issues there but im not sure if thats me having written gran since before s1 or whatever. but they went intense with it, they went back to gran trying to convince people(aaron) they weren’t alone, and talks with vyrn as to why dad wasn’t going to pick them up, if they hated them etc.

main quest...has...not discussed these issues really? aaron expressed his concerns in about the exact same way as s1 just more romantic (i kinda wish we got MORE and NEW things), but all captain stuff has been more ‘they’re determined to go to estalucia’ compared to what events has done.

seed of redemption went back to it again, being upset at their dad for taking care of another kid so short after leaving them,,,,, having captain run off surely partly worked out cuz they needed seox alone in that moment, but its the kinda reaction i wouldve liked during early arc 3 too,,,

they had these talks & mentions in events ingame so i just,,,really wanna see it in main quest too? im not gonna equal the anime to ingame content, i see them very separately despite mixmatching them when i write but,,,,,even just another free quest to talk about arc3 stuff wouldve been nice considering theres a LOT of things dropping regarding captains family situation

EITHER WAY im also rly grateful? i honestly didnt expect them to mention these things with a silent & selfinsert protag of sorts akjbsdk since theyre that theyve always had traces of things to work with, so that was kinda all i expected so no rain no rainbow was.....very surprising in every way. and im glad they addressed it again in seed of redemption, so im hoping,,,,main quest will at least give a little, at least when we finally get to see aunt
