"Why are my eyes and my heart and my soul so heavy?"

"So much has changed, but I'm the same, yes I'm the same"

I'm so damn tired, drained, & confused. Nothing inside of my body other than a fuzzy sleepiness that trickles down and into my bones. Is this a punishment? Am I allowed to ask for help?

What do I even say?

"Please help me wake up because the exhaustion is drowning me."

But...I don't even know what would help other than a magical syringe to remove the lead from my veins.

I look at myself in the mirror and I see the face of my 12 year-old self, but with purple-black bags under her eyes and sickly pale skin. She feels trapped under the disease. I want to help her, to show her all of the progress I've made, how proud I am of her and myself, but the sea of fatigue keeps my head under its waves and my words can't reach the surface.

I'm so tired.

My cat is clumsy and easily embarrassed, which is very cute but pitiful. So, I scoop her up afterward to nuzzle her and kiss her since she also has cat ADHD and will promptly forget about her L.

The issue then, however, becomes that if I stop before she's decided I can stop, she scampers to my front door and tattles to my neighbors by screaming like she's being murdered.
