headcanon idea I've been meaning to share!

what if instead of just the name of 1 scug (who now has a real name and it didnt rly fit the name scheme anyways), nightcat is actually a class of slugcat.

so ALL the dark slugs with light eyes (watcher/arti/spearm/inv) are nightcats

which makes all the ones that are light with dark eyes... daycats!

considering how slugpup genetics tend to skew very hard to either black or white and the eyes are always the opposite, it would make sense for these to be more like breeds or something

plus splitting them between nightpups and daypups is a good way of quickly classifying their colors ^^

also nightcats seem to be a little more rare, so more headcanons can be built on top of this regarding stuff like birth rates and recessive genes or the inherent dangers of being nocturnal or what have you

idk I'm just really vibing with there being more nightcats!
