Fanatic Intervention Part 12!!!
This post features the way I think renting cars works. I'm very sure it doesn't actually work this way, and I could have researched it, but the image is in my head and I thought it was funny having cars on shelves with little description tags like some kind of Automobile Costco Warehouse.
Also, I'm gonna link my playlist because I feel like you all might be interested to see the list of songs I'm working from lol.
Fun fact, the playlist used to be called List of Holding and was meant to be a small collection of songs that I wanted to hear REALLY often. But, um...well, I've since had to change the name :P
This is All Good Omens Now Who Am I Kidding
And yes, I'm very VERY picky about my Queen songs.
OKAY here we go.
Beginning || Previous || Next
********************
In the end, it was surprisingly easy to find a rental company willing to loan you all a car (considering that three out of the four of you have no identification, documents, credit score, valid driver’s licenses, etc.). Deciding on a car, on the other hand, was a bit more complicated.
“I don’t understand why I can’t just miracle the Bentley over,” Crowley whines as the four of you wander the aisles of cars.
“Well for starters, the steering wheel is on the wrong side,” Anathema reasons.
“The wheel’s not on the wrong side! All of these have steering wheels on the wrong side! They drive on the wrong side of the road here too! Americans!” He shoves his hands in his pockets, practically spitting the last word like it’s some kind of curse. Anathema raises an eyebrow at him, but otherwise says nothing.
“Ooh!” Aziraphale calls from further ahead, “Look at this one! The description says that it’s very good for the environment. I mean, aesthetically speaking it isn’t anything extraordinary, but I do like all of these things written on the tag.”
“What kind of car is it?” Anathema asks.
“I believe it says it’s a...Tesla?”
You snort a laugh. “I am NOT getting into one of those things,” You say between giggles.
“Why not?” Aziraphale’s confusion is genuine – you can see it in his face.
“Well,” You begin counting on your fingers, “It farts, it can see ghosts, and it may or may not explode while we’re in it, SO!” You see Crowley’s face light up.
“Sounds like my kind of car!” He says, making his way towards the car that Aziraphale is inspecting.
“No,” Anathema sounds like she’s talking to a child. Or maybe a dog. “No, we are not riding in a Tesla. I’m with you on this one,” she says in your direction.
“I have a suggestion,” You pipe up, raising your hand.
“Oh-ho!” Crowley calls. He leaned slightly to the left, and took off between the aisles. All three of you have to jog to keep up with him. He’s stopped in front of an enormous Hummer. “Now THIS is a CAR!”
Anathema is shaking her head.
“No, wait, listen, I have it,” You say, and everyone turns to look at you expectantly. “It’s the only logical option here. It fits the vintage vibe that you two like, and it’s the most reliable car I know of aside from Bentley.”
“Well go on,” encourages Anathema, “Don’t keep us in suspense.”
“What we need is a 1967 Chevy Impala!”
And THAT, dear Reader, is how you find out that none of them have seen Supernatural. Or heard of it, even. Criminal, really. You resolve to make them watch it next chance you get. In the end, Anathema suggests a very practical SUV and well, you’ve all learned not to argue with her by now.
Honestly the woman needs a cake for putting up with the three of you.
Also, as it turns out, one of the perks of having a current car model is that you can sync up your playlist to the bluetooth. So guess who ends up in charge of the music.
“And THIS one,” You say, flicking through your playlist, “Is a song that was suggested for the Season 3 playlist by Neil Gaiman himself!” And you press play on The Book of Love. And you watch their faces. You want to see their reaction when it gets to the part about wedding rings.
“Are all of your songs for us love songs?” Aziraphale asks. He stopped complaining about your taste in music an hour ago. Crowley is driving, and Anathema has been zoned out for a while now.
“Uuuummm, the ones that aren’t breakup songs you mean? Pretty much yeah.”
Crowley groans.
“Except for like, Queen and Hozier.”
Crowley groans again.
“I thought you liked Queen,” You are shocked and alarmed. Crowley rolls his whole head (probably because you wouldn’t see him roll his eyes behind his sunglasses).
“Go on then,” he says, “Which Queen songs do you have on that playlist of yours?” He glares at you through the rearview mirror. Suddenly, you hesitate.
“Um...Somebody to Love, and Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy,” You finish meekly. Crowley nearly crashes the car. Whether it was on purpose or not doesn’t matter. Anathema takes the wheel and he gets demoted to the back seat. Next to you. As a peace offering, you hand him your phone with your spotify open, and let him take charge of the music. You feel that you might not survive the ride otherwise.
Google Maps pegs the estimated driving time from NYC to New Orleans at 19 hours. Splitting the driving between a demon and a responsible human woman, the four of you manage a respectable 12 hours including a number of breaks to: use the washroom, get coffee, get food, look at the view, poke around a used bookshop, pick some apples, eat the apples, and buy some fudge. Crowley refuses to admit that he may or may not have stopped time once or twice, and Aziraphale refuses to account for your sudden bursts of energy from time to time (conveniently and suspiciously whenever there was a stop he was interested in).
So, having made excellent time, all four of you arrive in New Orleans. Crowley is back at the wheel now, and he pulls the car into the parking lot of The Ritz. Because of course it’s The Ritz again. Anathema doesn’t even comment this time. You figure she was probably expecting it. Learning fast, that one. You check in, and aren’t all that surprised to find that you’ve been booked into the fanciest suite in the place once again. According to the pamphlet at the front desk, this suite is supposed to only be two rooms, but when you arrive, you find that it actually contains 3. Why? Supernatural beings who influence their surroundings.
“You really do have some expensive taste,” You say casually to Aziraphale as you place your bag on the floor.
“It was Crowley who booked this one,” the angel replies, inspecting the knick-knacks on a shelf to his left.
“Crowley? Trying to impress you, no doubt.”
“Pft!” Comes Crowley’s response from behind you, Right, and not at all because to get up here you need a special passkey, which keeps unexpected guests few, far between, and easy to notice.” He gives you a pointed look over his sunglasses. “We’ve been lucky so far that we’ve been left alone since Heathrow. But don’t think for a minute that he won’t be back.”
“That’s...fair.” You pause and think for a minute. “Then we should probably limit going out too. Unless we really need to.”
“That would be best, yes,” Anathema agrees, “But please, leave the hotel staff alone.”
Well, honestly she could only expect that request to go so far once Aziraphale found the room service menu.

I thought I'd share my Saiki K playlist. It's just a bunch of songs I like that I think fit him roughly arranged by where I feel like they fall on his character arc. Justifications for my selections under the cut.
I Am a Rock by Simon & Garfunkel: This song really strikes me as affirmations of a deeply lonely person trying to convince themselves that they're better off this way. A good fit for Saiki at the start of the series when he's closed himself off from other people.
The Beast by Spectacle-P: It's about a someone who's been lonely for so long that they've forgotten how lonely they are being offered love but being too proud and full of fear to accept it. I'd quote some of the translated lyrics but I'd just end up putting most of the song here I think. Please watch the subtitled video on youtube and tell me if don't think this isn't a good fit for Saiki.
Nothing at All: Reminds me of early series Saiki's tirades about how much being a psychic sucks where he just describes the symptoms of depression.
Loveless by Steampianist: Honestly I don't remember why I put this on here. Probably because of the feelings of alienation it conveys and how it seems to be about the ace experience of not being able to experience love in the way that society tells you should.
Are You Satisfied by Marina: I think this ones pretty self-explanatory. If I was better at drawing I'd like to make an animatic about the Saiki brothers using this song.
Star of Show: I'll admit this ones a bit more of a stretch and honestly it's mostly on here because I like listening to it when plotting out my fanfic but also "I'm not a freak/I'm not an act/I'm not a deity's performance!" kind of fits with his issues about how his powers affect people's perception of him.
404 by Pinocchio-P: It's about feeling unable to connect to people and like your true-self will be rejected. I also think the little alien guy in the music video for it looks a lot like Kusuo. I actually forgot how good a fit this was until I went and looked at the lyrics again and yup past me was correct in putting it on this playlist.
A Hundred Years Unresolved: It's lonely sounding and I came to associate it with Saiki because like listening to it when I play the Regentquest segment of See You in the Dark. No deeper reason then that.
Oh No! by Marina: Kusuo is the sort of guy to go "I know exactly what I want and who I want to be." You know, like a liar.
The Chattering Lack of Common Sense: I'm not sure how to explain it but I feel like the theme of falseness that runs through the song fits him. It's also worth mentioning that this song is also on my Kuusuke playlist that I'm not sharing here because it isn't as good and frankly it's kind of shameful that I even have a playlist for that guy.
I Am Not a Robot by Marina: Kusuo is vulnerable and lovable even if he doesn't believe that about himself.
God-ish by Pinocchio-P: I'm not sure how well this one fits because frankly this is one of the Pinocchio-P songs I don't feel like I have as solid a handle on the meaning of. I mostly chose it because of the name and because it seems to be a pretty cynical song.
Fear and Loathing by Marina: "Now I see, I see it for the first time / There is no crime in being kind / Not everyone is out to screw you over / Maybe, yeah just maybe, they just want to get to know you" I feel like this is fairly self-explanatory
arms by Christina Perri: I listened to my Pandora stations for the first time in ages recently (well back in August, apparently), heard this and thought "Kubosai song?!" though frankly it would also work well for Nensai or other Saiki ships or even platonically if you ignore some the more romantic lyrics. Though I think it's best suited to the first two listed. Anyway I think this fits Saiki's relationship issues pretty well.
Soap by The Oh Hellos: It's a very hopeful song about how people need other people and you are not unlovable. So I think you can imagine why I thought it was a good song to end the playlist with.

MUNDAY  ASKS !
🎮 — favorite video game(s)?
Tumblr media
I don't really have an all-time favorite, but my current obsession in gaming is probably Lies of P. I guess Honkai Star Rail too, and Sun Haven.
Lies of P is a soulslike/soulsborne. Whatever people call it. Now I'm not too find of soulslike games because I'm a casual gamer. I'm moreso into a video game for the storyline and development. I also like to play casually. Sometimes I'm not up for the challenge. I just like to take my sweet time, go at my own pace, enjoy a game, and enjoy a story instead of trying to speedrun or rush through.
Anyhoo what got me into Lies of P is because I'm a sucker for fairy tales and folk tales. I'm also a sucker for like medieval, victorian, steampunk, renaissance, all those ancient stuff ahahahaha. I even own some renaissance-themed clothing that I also wear to work. LOP is probably gonna be the only soulslike game I ever play. Most people seem to be into soulslike for the challenge. 'Least the ones I've met. So far despite the challenge, I'm enjoying LOP, and I do write a muse from there.~ Still have yet to beat the game though.
Honkai Star Rail is one of those gacha games meant for mobile, but can be played on playstation and desktop. It's alright. I wouldn't give it too much praise, but that's just me. It can be f2p-friendly, and sometimes it can be p2w. Depends on how people wanna play the game, I guess. I tried to avoid HSR but then I saw Gallagher, and it was very hard for me to resist him, so I finally gave this game a chance, and yeah. It's fun. It's alright. It's a simple game and doesn't feel too overwhelming for me. I said Genshin Impact was gonna be the last gacha game I ever play, but I think HSR will now be the last gacha game I ever play since tbh... I've played a lot of gacha games end eventually got bored or burnt out from them. There are better games to play and completed too imo.
Sun Haven is one of those farming simulation games. Right now it's only out on steam. They said they have plans to release it for the Nintendo switch, but no idea when exactly. You can do quests in this game. You can make anything your main focus. My main focus is to plant stuff, harvest them, and then sell the plants I've harvested. I'm also slowly trying to make my farm look better than before.
There's quite a lot to do in this game. It might be overwhelming for some with all these quests we can do, and I admit I got burnt out from this game at some point because of that, but once I got back to it I just decided to go at my own pace and do my own thing.
This game is also multiplayer btw, and I think you can have up to 8 players~
😍 — celebrity crush(es)?
Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh............
Does Revo from Sound Horizon count???? LOL. He seems to be known for Linked Horizon these days now.
I use to have a crush on Justin Timberlake LOLOLOLOL.
Aaron Tveit is neat too, I guess, and it seems his latest role in the world of broadway is Sweeney Todd. It seems he's also starring in some new show now that I forgot wtf it's called. He seems to mostly land roles in broadway though than shows or movies.
tbh I don't really have any celebrity crushes, but Revo and Aaron Tveit are cool. Uhhhhh.... I guess Justin Timberlake is okay too LOL.
I admire my "celeb crushes" from afar.
🎧 — do you write while listening to music/podcasts/videos/etc, or do you need total silence?
I do listen to music while trying to write stuff! It helps with inspiration a lot for me. Though sometimes even with music, I might not get any inspiration at all still, but I'll still be vibing with my playlists.

star death: a bhadra-related excursive essay about my dlc fic
let's talk bhadra (because i haven't talked about her enough, i guess.)
as you may or may not know, i was dragged back into the far cry pandemonium brainrot back in september 25, 2023, in the midst of lies of p and oc related brainrot, against my will.
it started in a dream. or, well, the pre-emptive ending to a dream, the part where you switch premises last minute which makes you lose focus on the first few parts of the dream and shifts you to maximum overdrive in terms of memory and focus. i set the stage to an american high school hallway. the lights are dim. i am playing as bhadra, and i really mean playing as, not am, bhadra, all focal disconnection feeling as if i was holding a controller even if i wasn't. immersion stuff, i guess. anyway. bhadra walks down the halls, rifle in hand, bow strapped to her body. she comes across sabal on his knees, praying to a mirror with candles in it, and she realizes she doesn't see her reflection. then she blinks, the camera shot gets to her, she loses her weapon. the halls darken. the walls close in. sabal and the mirror are gone, and she looks around in panic as she realizes that she's trapped. all the while, the words "no escape" whisper in her ear, slowly but surely, then frantically but melodically, until the rhythmic chant breaks and starts overlapping each others' voices and she starts to scream. overwhelmed, confused, terrified.
and then i wake up.
that, my friends, was the demo version of the fucking bhadra dlc that my brain had pitched to me at a time where i was lusting over a wooden puppet and then some.
so what happened after?
well. as you can imagine, having balanced all types of brainrot in the process hadn't been something i'd ever done before. i had a job. i had video games to do. art to finish. but for the next few days i was frantic. by september 29 i was finished with the plot outline. by october 2, i finished writing.
in three motherfucking days, i was finished writing a ten thousand word fic on what if ubisoft released a whole ass dlc about the franchise's most doomed, most irrelevant-due-to-wasted-potential, most unindulged-or-barely-spoken-of -without-ajay-in-tow character, bhadra farcry4. and it was a fucking pleasure to work with, lemme tell ya.
but obviously, i couldn't have done this on my own. thanks to ros (u a real one) for enabling this absolutely jobless behavior, and now i have myself to thank, for adding onto MORE jobless behavior, as since i started writing this essay during my shift.
but because i love bhadra, and i love writing about bhadra, and also causing her unbearable amounts of pain, i broke through my current brainrot just to write about this fic. and whaddaya know, the playlist came in. you know its bad when a one-shot fic earns a whole ass MOTHERFUCKING playlist.
if you've all read my very eye-catching title, star death is NOT referring to bhadra being dead.
yet.
star death is the title of the first song of the playlist, and the lyrics from it is the fic's title.
there's no like, actual analysis on the song as of late cuz it isn't popular enough so this song has been made with the context of the cynicism found in the fic alongside the Horrors that come with being alive with a heart and mind that isn't there anymore (especially at a young age, i mean, look at these bars!)
I lost my heart at twenty one Dead like the stars in the night sky But they’re still bright (yeah)
but anyway. without further ado:
welcome to star death. and everything it has to do with the bhadra dlc.
so this is how the song starts:
I can see the television Lies to me and everything Ain’t what it seems So tell me why it feels It feels, it feels so real
the pre-chorus here talks about the blur between fake and real. off to a great start! trying to channel reality between the fakeness of it all is also a parallel towards the first few paragraphs of the dlc fic, talking about the reality that bhadra is stuck in, dreaming about ajay's first mission to save her but then it escalates into something that comes from "not quite it" to "definitely not it" (as all subconsciouses create when it comes to perspective.)
and yet it feels real, yeah?
That was the sound of the real world, though. Right now, you are sitting by your window sill trying to steer clear of the cacophonous music, still trying to keep your breathing in check, but you see all too much red; whether it be from rage or the royal soldiers or the blood, it’s never too late to call something “too much.” Evidence does suggest that there’s no other way to consider it until you’re actually watching, and, it seems that the royal army had ideas because you didn’t notice that the house was starting to burn until the room was starting to get unbearably hot, the air in your chest suddenly pumping out so hard you’ve been starting to cough, and now, oh, you’re on the floor because you didn’t react fast enough. [...]
So when the floor rips apart, and you do scream, you realize that this happened before, except a little more wrong than you could imagine. The wind of the fall puts pressure on your body, the open breeze and lack of leverage to help you is nowhere to be seen, and the only thing you can really do is scream and flail. You meet eyes with the floor, but it’s almost as if it’s going further down, the tantalizing thing. The floor is water, dark red water, only Kyra knows where the hell the red could have possibly come from and you just hope that it doesn’t matter because you’re landing in it— and now, water engulfs you.
continuing on, this happens to be the next part of the pre-chorus.
Maybe I’m the antichrist or enemy And everyone’s against me So tell me what’s the deal The deal, what’s the deal?
again. fun way to set up someone's presence in their head, right? bhadra is set to be her own mind's enemy and it's scattered all throughout the fic! trying to go through the reality and ending up stuck in this blurred line of in-betweens has turned her inner turmoil and conflict into something her head is KILLING her for, whether that be through the mental anguish or the pain of her reality, her trying to run away from that reality because dissociation is all she has... confuses her. she doesn't know what the deal is, why she's stuck in her own head, why her own inner world is thrown against her.
You nearly tumble into the ground as you take the sight in, landing on the ground. “What the hell? What happened to the statues?” “Your brain did that.” Ajay says. “Why?” “I only know as much as you do. Which means, you do know, but you haven’t realized it yet.” “Is this supposed to be my DIY therapy?” You ask. “Probably? You’re just trying to help yourself.”
let's skip the chorus for now-- it's important, yes, but so is the rest of the cynicism and Horrors Contemplation going on with the next few lines of the first verse.
I live high up like a thousand miles above ya Spoke with God and I know that bitch doesn’t love ya I know the universe do me no favors You know when the aliens don’t even phase us There ain’t a think that could save us Like yeah, yeah, yeah I know we’ll find a way To fuck this up again Or is it in my head?
honestly dunno if i can relate the whole other first two lines to anything in particular, although religious cynicism aside (something i doubt bhadra really has besides 'gotta be the tarun matara to help people' as a concept), she has a huge awareness around her that the universe isn't there to do anything for her. maybe even the marvels of the world (or other worlds) don't really entertain her like they used to, or maybe they haven't, because she's known that feeling of "doom" since she was young-- you see it in the way she's started smoking, having spent her time with the reality of adults who also had their childhoods robbed, nobody her age but the Golden Path members who were definitely her only company. but does she know that there's a thing that could save them? does she know that there's a way to fuck shit up again? she's genuinely anxious about it and you know that being caught between amita and sabal has all to do with it. is she too trapped in her head to think about it? is that why she resorts to ajay to help her get it out of her head that there's hope despite knowing something's gonna fuck up?
youtube
"and what do you wanna do?" "... i want a free kyrat." (she says, face filled with doubt and unknowing and childlike indecision.) "but i can't choose on my own." [...] "okay. i think i know what i have to do." (her face twitches into a smile, still holding back but now hopeful.) "thank you."
definitely.
so here we have the chorus.
Anyone? Who’s in my head; Is it anyone? I lost my heart at twenty one Dead like the stars in the night sky But they’re still bright
bhadra in the game hasn't exactly lost it. it's the bhadra in the dlc that has, she just doesn't know how much she was going to lose it. she loses her people, she loses her heart, she loses herself. scattered throughout the fic she has completely found out something is lost to her the only way she knows how: through ajay.
“Are you there, Ajay?” You ask— but you’re starting to get the feeling that it’s pointless to ask something that wasn’t there in the first place. Ajay was you. Amita was you. Sabal was you. It’s not anything that was up for debate— however your mind came to be, though these people have crafted it in a way that only made you feel like you could exist when they could, you simply had these versions that you knew of them and ran from there.  And you loved them. You still love them.  Amita was gone. So was Sabal. And now—  “I’m here.” Ajay says.
[...]
“Then why am I not here, Bhadra?! Whoever I picked to help in the end and I wasn’t there— where did you think I went?!” He said, grabbing your wrist and pinning you to the floor. “Face it, Bhadra. I abandoned Kyrat. I abandoned you! I escaped but you never will!”  “And now you’re trying to kill me?!” “You still don’t get it, do you? I HAVE to! You refused to let go so much that you made this place! I'd have to KILL you to keep you here! I don’t want to do that, I want you to wake up! Please wake up!” “So let me die here! You said it didn’t have any consequences! LET ME STAY!”
and just like her visions of her fate in both ends, she realizes eventually that there's no escape to it. dead like the stars in the night sky, but still bright. damned, but goddamn if it isn't an all-seen kind of damned. everybody knows she is, and so will she.
(bhadra dlc) (star death) (dlc playlist)

2 and 7 for the WIP ask game?
thanks for the ask hotwife!
and the only wip i have in the works is my 大鱼海棠 (Big Fish & Begonia) AU for kataang, so any questions i get will be pertaining to that!
2. What tropes or fandom headcanons are you involving? Are you challenging any tropes or headcanons?
welllll... my wip is a very, very niche and highly specific au. it's supposed to blend the movie's and atla's worldbuilding together while sticking to the plot of the movie, so i'm not entirely sure it will have any headcanons that could be found in general for atla 😅
i guess just the main tropes for this fic would be "love at first sight"... ish? it's kinda hard to explain... maybe infatuation at first sight is the better term. it's definitely looking to be a soulmate au as well, as in a strong connection between two people who barely know each other, because that's the only way i can explain the kataang in this story :P
not really looking to challenge anything either. again, this is a very niche, self-indulgent au that is written just for me and maayyyyyyybe one other person. not really interested in turning tropes on their head or making meta comments on fandom through fic. doesn't really fit here.
7. Do you listen to music while writing your WIP? If so, what? Do you have a playlist?
boy, do i!
nowadays, just in general, i tend to listen to more cdrama-style music or anything by 周深, a favorite Chinese singer of mine. for this wip, i'm definitely listening to more Chinese-oriented music, specifically 大鱼 (which is... the theme song for the movie l o l) to get myself into that mood. Still, when I get bored of the same thing over and over again, I search out literally any other genre of music to refresh my brain.
definitely have a playlist! this is the Chinese music playlist i listen to and thereby the one i am listening to most often nowadays. love all the songs on here, and it really helps get me in the specific mindset for this wip.
thanks for indulging me on this fine wip wednesday!

Completely Fantastic
Someone To Stay Ch. 8
Spencer x fem reader
Tumblr media
The next morning you wake up and start packing as you prepare for the drive back home. You take your hair out of the bun you had slept in, leaving it with some long loose waves. You throw on a long, flowing navy and white maxi skirt with a navy tank top and some strappy sandals. You are feeling particularly in touch with your bohemian side after a weekend spent in the great outdoors.
After filling up on a quick breakfast, you grab your bags and head out to the car. You look to Spencer. "Is it okay if I drive?"
He appreciates you asking. No one ever does. They just assume.
"Sounds good!" He tosses his keys over to you. After filling the trunk with both of your bags, you scoot into the driver's side and adjust the seat and mirrors. You may be tall, but Spencer was much taller.
As you pull out of the driveway and make your way down the road, Spencer looks towards you.
"I'm guessing you want music. I don't really have much. If you hand me your phone I can put on whatever you like."
You unlock your phone and hand it to him, smiling at the kind gesture. Seems like he catches on quick.
"Hmm" you think out loud. "Well, I know you haven't listened to quite as much as me so we have a lot of genres to cover on this car ride. We'll start with the 70's and go from there. Just put it my 70's playslist on shuffle. We'll let my phone pick for us."
Gypsy by Fleetwood Mac comes on. A smile of content spreads across your face. You reach into the compartment above your rear view mirror and grab what you liked to call your "John Lennon Sunglasses". They're rosy and oversized and perfect for your current mood. You roll the windows down and let the wind whip through your hair, resting your elbow out the window. Sunshine warms your skin as you listen to the incredibly talented Stevie Nicks.
After a few more songs you ask him to flip to the 80's playlist on shuffle. As Forever Young by Alphaville comes on, you see a look of recognition on Spencer's face.
"Oh yeah, I forgot you were an 80's baby! 80's pop is some of my very favorite."
He smiles and nods. You get it. There's something oddly comforting about nostalgic music from your childhood. You let the rest of the 80's playlist finish, since you both seem to enjoy it.
Eventually Spencer turns in his seat to face you.
"I had a lot of fun this weekend." He states this with a fairly serious look on his face.
"Yeah me too! Is everything okay though? You look like you have more to say?"
He continues, while fiddling with his hands and hair and staring down at his lap. He's clearly nervous.
"It's uh j-just...would you...well would you want to be friends? I know that's p-probably an odd question I just, well I enjoy hanging out with you. Since I don't see you at my uh place of work I wasn't really sure the c-correct protocol for..."
You reach over and squeeze his hand to cut him off, since you can see he's clearly only making himself more anxious.
"Hey" you give him a reassuring smile.
"We're already friends. I think we have no choice but to continue hanging out. I mean, we just get along to well, it's not really up to me" you joke.
The both of you laugh and he seems to relax again. He squeezes your hand back as a thank you. Before you return it to the steering wheel.
"How do you feel about a weekly movie night?"
His eyes light up at the idea before clouded over, clearly thinking it through.
"My job..." he starts before you cut him off.
"I know, Spencer. Don't stress. My job schedule is inconsistent too. I mean, I get my schedule given to me six weeks at a time but, I work different sets of days each week. It's completely random. But that means I have four days off a week so I like our chances. And if some weeks it doesn't happen, that's ok too. You go save lives, and I'll help heal them. It's what we do."
He raises his eyebrows in surprise before responding.
"Oh well you've thought of everything, huh?"
You shrug, trying to conceal a smirk. "Maybe."
He looks to you. "Ok so what will be watching first?"
"Hmm, I'll let you pick first. And we can trade off?"
"Well I don't know how into fandoms you are but... would you mind if we watched some of Harry Potter?"
Usually your face is a huge giveaway to what you were thinking, and not just to FBI profilers. In this instance, you were incredibly determined to keep a straight face and not let on a single thing.
You just give a small nod as you keep your eyes on the road, expressionless.
"Sure, we can do that."
"Ok, so when and where? Or do you have that planned too?"
"Well..." you think for a minute before extending the offer. You don't want to scare off your newest friend.
"I'm free tonight if you'd like. We can unpack and maybe sneak in a nap first?" You glance over to gauge his reaction.
He smiles and nods, on board with the idea.
"Yeah, and I can meet back at your place at 5? Want me to bring anything? The DVD's?"
"Oh no it's fine! I'm pretty sure I saw them on Amazon or YouTube TV..." you respond, still trying to control your face. You really wanted to fool the genius profiler.
Spencer asks to borrow your blanket before curling up in the passenger seat and taking a nap the rest of the way home. It was too adorable. You couldn't help yourself. As you pulled up to a red light, you snap a quick picture of him. You also take a selfie with you making goofy faces, Spencer sleeping in the background.
You gently shake him awake after parking outside of your building. You grab your bags out of the back and wave to him as he backs the car out.
Once in the apartment, you take Juneau out for a quick walk. The dog sitter had given you detailed  updates while you'd been away. You throw your weekend bags in the closet and hop in the shower. After drying your hair, you throw on a Black Borgin and Burke's T shirt and some black leggings and get to work.
It's September which, for you, meant the Halloween decor was abundant. You plug in all of your purple, green, and orange string lights placed all around your living room and kitchen. You light several candles you have scattered amongst your Halloween decor. Your shelves are lined with pumpkins, potion bottles, and various skeleton items.
You pop in your guest room to make sure it looks presentable. You're fairly sure he won't be expecting anything like what he's walking into tonight. On one hand, if it scares him off then it was bound to happen eventually. But if he doesn't mind...well maybe this friend is in it for the long haul.
You grab two butterbeer mugs and set them on the counter next to an assortment of flavored hot chocolate packets. You also set out microwave popcorn and a bowl of Halloween candy.
You decide to do one last thing, really hoping Spencer won't think you're completely insane. It's not long before you hear a knock at the door.
You open it, wearing your Ravenclaw robe and your glasses which just so happen to look a bit like Harry Potter's.
Spencer's brow wrinkles in confusion before he starts laughing.
"So I'm guessing you've seen Harry Potter before!" He says after finally catching his breath.
"Ummm..." you smile and just take his hand pulling him through your apartment till you reach your guest bedroom.
His eyes widen as he looks around at all your Halloween decorations. Before he can comment he's standing speechless in the doorway.
He looks around to see a completely Harry Potter themed guest bedroom, filled with creatures, books, wands, and more.
"Yeah Spencer, I've seen the movies" you finally say, letting out a laugh you've been holding back.
He looks stunned. "How did I... but you..."
"Yeah I'm usually pretty bad at hiding things so I have no idea how I pulled this one over on you. Aren't you supposed to read people for your job?" You joke with him, nudging his side with your elbow.
He's still just standing there, eyes wide, taking it all in. He walks over to the book shelf to flip through what you have.
"You have the potions book?...the maurader's map?...even the Quibbler?"
You just shrug, smiling as you watch him look around.
"So you don't think I'm completely crazy?"
"I think you're completely fantastic!" He blurts out, blushing a bit after he says it.
You bite your lip as you say " I may or may not also have the movies on DVD in 4K...to watch on my new TV."
He steps back into the living room to see where the two of you will be spending the rest of the night.
"Oh, this is going to be perfect!"
He takes a moment to finally take in the complete explosion of Halloween across your home.
"I hired Jack Skellington as my decorator" you snicker, making fun of yourself a bit.
He turns to you, eyes wide once again. "You like Halloween too?" He reminds you of an eager little kid with the look on his face.
You answer him with an eager nod and a grin.
"Y/N, I think it's pretty clear that we were meant to be friends! Where have you been all my life?" He laughs.
You don't know why, but you feel yourself turning red at hearing this comment.
You prepare some hot chocolate and popcorn for the two of you while Spencer sets up the Sorcerer's Stone.
"Oh I almost forgot, I brought something!" Spencer pulls something out of his sweater pocket. He has handfuls of Ghirardelli chocolates.
"Are those Rossi's? From the trip?"
"I have know idea what you're talking about." He states with a smirk as he plops down onto the couch, tossing you one. You lean back against the opposite end, leaving you room to both stretch your legs out and share a blanket.
You try your best not to quote the movie that you know by heart, but you just can't help it. Then you look over and see Spencer mouthing along with the lines. You give him a small kick under the blanket.
"I bet you could do a one man show of these movies, Mr. eidetic memory." You giggle.
"From the looks of it, so could you. We could take our show on the road. We'd make millions."
The two of you burst into a fit of laughter. With Spencer, you're always smiling.

Ahhh thank you!!
My reaction/review under the cut so I don't take up too much space (lol space because I love space and there are space emojis in the playlist name, which I love, ty) on the dash :')
WE'RE STARTING OFF WITH SWEET CAROLINE?? HELL YEAH, I don't listen to this song very often but the question I have for myself now is WHY THE HELL NOT? It's so good. Noah Puckerman my absolute beloved. I love him. His voice is so good. It fits this song so well. I love him.
No I will not be reacting like this to every single individual song lmao but I do want to give somewhat of a review!!
THE SCIENTIST? EXCUSE YOU. How can you make me go from absolutely bopping along to Sweet Caroline to being destroyed by The Scientist like this? Illegal. Crime.
Come What May, I Believe in a Thing Called Love, yeah. YEAH! Love these. My Klaine and Kelliott loving soul are very satisfied with these, thank you.
Thrilled with the inclusion of Red (TV), and noticing that the first three songs you picked are ones I've made gifsets for. I see you and I love you.
FALL OUT BOY. Interesting that you only included songs from AB/AP. Curious if it's because you just know that album best or you think it suits me best? Either way, very solid choices. Irresistible and Uma Thurman especially.
And then we get into the P!ATD. I love them so much. Victorious slaps, I Write Sins slaps. Excellent work. I'm vibing so hard. I haven't listened to Victorious in a long time, I kind of forgot how hard it goes, thank you for this very welcomed reminder.
Lady Gaga/Bradley Cooper, Queen, Fleetwood Mac, wonderful. A couple of the Fleetwood Mac songs I'm not really familiar with, so this is exciting! Everything up to this point I've known pretty much inside out. Definitely can't go wrong with them though.
GERARD WAY! I think I've heard this version of Happy Together but I genuinely don't remember for sure. It's great though. I don't know the other song though! MCR was always the band in the emo trinity that I was the least invested in (and yes it is a trinity I know some people include 21 Pilots but uhhh... no <3) (I still listened to MCR just not nearly as much as FOB and P!ATD). ANyway, this new song is great.
INSTANBUL NOT CONSTANTINOPLE!!!!!!! What a bop, no further thoughts, love that you included this lmao I wanna know why but also I'm not mad at all asdlkfja
GRACE KELLY. MIKA. YEAH. ON THIS BLOG WE LOVE MIKA. KURT HUMMEL DESERVED TO SING A MIKA SONG. Did you know about this post? Is that why you included it? Or did you just know I like MIKA? Or was it a very lucky guess? I'm so curious.
Pete And The Pirates is the first artist that I've actually never heard of before. This song reminds me of... something. But I can't place it. I feel like it's reminding me of an artist that I like kinda listened to back in middle school. Definitely has those vibes.
Linkin Park let's gooooo great choices great choices. And Green Day wow I'm being brought back to elementary school now. Tefchnically I was in middle/high school when 21 Guns came out, but American Idiot. Iconic.
My Chem!! Teenagers and Welcome to the Black Parade my beloveds. Two of my faves of theirs.
Scotty Doesn't Know lolol love it. I know this song but... did not know it was Lustra? I've somehow literally never heard of them. But I know this song. But then, everyone knows this song, right? Are they just a one-hit wonder? Do they have other popular songs that I just don't realize? This is fascinating.
I GOT YOUR PICTURE I'M COMIN WITH YOU DEAR MARIA COUNT ME IN!!! Hell YES we are back in middle school and I am L I V I N G I love this song so fucking much.
ROSE'S TURN HELL YEAH
She Wants Revenge? In my playlist? Hi hey hello. Highkey thought nobody else really knew about them aslkdjfa anyway this is a great song.
Never heard of Spellbound, never heard of Siouxsie and the Banshees. This is giving me old music vibes. Are they an older band? I just looked them up and HA! YEAH THEY ARE! Go me, very proud of me right now. Anyway, this is a fun song! I'm into it.
Not me not realizing there's a Bon Iver/St. Vincent duet on the New Moon soundtrack aahhhh wtf. Tbh this is a little slow/boring for me but I do love both of the artists. Just. Shocked I didn't know about this lmao.
The Order of Death is fun! Not a sentence I ever thought I'd say lmao. Wicked Ones I've never heard of but I'm 10 seconds in an HOLY SHIT??? THIS SLAPS SO HARD. I am so into this what the fuck. This might be my biggest takeaway new song from this playlist because it goes hard and I am living for it.
And we're following it up with Mr. Brightside? It's like you're in my mind you did choose this because of IWOAK right? Literally cannot think about this song without thinking about Kurtbastian. Not that I'm complaining. Anyway, it's an amazing song in its own right as well.
Stacy's Mom aslkdfjahlkdjh PLEASE. Such a good song. The OG MILF
Last two songs I don't know and have never heard of. I Wanna Be Adored is good but I'm not in love with it or anything. Better Davis Eyes... just got to this woman's voice and I love her?? What a pretty voice. I am enraptured. Very pretty song.
Final thoughts: you really hit it out of the park with this tbh I love it, thank you so much. I wasn't expecting it to be this long tbh but I love that it is because there are so many amazing songs on this playlist!

Someone To Stay
Original story by fairytales1896
Spencer x fem reader
8. Completely Fantastic
