I absolutely adore how safe I feel in my offline (and, to an extent, online) jewish spaces. What I don't adore is why I only really feel safe in those spaces (jew hatred is so vapid)
#jewish politics#jumblr#jew by choice#jewish conversion#personal thoughts tag#antisemitism tw#and i only even feel safe here because: 1. i have blocked SO MANY BLOGS 2. i don't allow DMs for people i don't follow#and also i haven't shared a whole lot of super personal information#but i feel so so safe in my offlone space and it is so refreshing#i feel safer being openly trans and queer than i am being openly jewish and that's a weird feeling#it's especially weird when i remember the anti-queer hate crime that happened relatively nearby semi-recently#when i am at shul (barring a few incidents) i feel safe. i am with people who are like me and they won't put me in danger#it also helps that my shul has a huge THIS IS NOT A GUN-FREE ZONE sign on the front door
