sometimes i forget that other people observe body language and then think things about said body language
#like i can notice things like crying or putting your head in your hands or sighing#but i don't see someone fidgeting or pacing and think they're stressed#or notice micro-expressions that could indicate that someone is thinking a lot#unless i know the person a lot or they're doing it in a somewhat exaggerated manner#if someone is looking like data computing something in his head i know that nonverbal cue#i even wear sunglasses dark enough that you can't see my eyes most of the time i'm at school#so i don't get what my mentor teacher is picking up on when saying that he can tell i'm nervous and thinking a lot any time#our co-teacher does the lesson a bit different for one period to another#its true but i don't understand how someone can tell#wonder if noticing i sometimes don't like things going different than i expected is why he asked if i have autism a few weeks ago#maybe that combined with the constant fidgeting#i just have adhd and tend towards perfectionism#not noticing or thinking about body language is a combination of not being able to see very well and being inattentive

Motion and stillness for jamie and josie?
motion: How does your OC move? How does their clothing help or hinder their range of motion? Are they flexible, coordinated, clumsy?
For Jamie:
Jamie moves A LOT. constantly. At all moments. From moving their hands while they talk, to rocking back and forth on their heels, to pacing around a room, Jamie is constantly full of energy and motion.
This is often why Jamie tends to be in less layers when writing- they tend to move around a lot, constantly adjusting in their seat, and tend to get up and move about. A lot of layers can be limiting in this matter, especially when stiff clothes are worn. In more professional moments, often times the stiff clothes of the time period tend to somewhat frustrate Jamie in the way they limit their movement, even if they know they probably shouldnt fidget so much in other peoples eyes.
And oh... Jam's pretty clumsy.... spilled ink is never a fun situation
For Josephine:
Josephine's movements tend to be... control. exact. calculated. It never does well in a lab to not keep mind of where your limbs are, and in a social situation, one must be calculated so as to predict what someone elses reaction will be. She tends to keep close to herself, and tends to move in firm motions
exceptions to this is when Josie is excited, there she tends to lose that grip a bit, and is more likely to move quicker and gesture more as she rambles about the topic, with some hand movements in part of it.
Josie is quite flexible, and not in a good way 😅 Josie has EDS, and her joints are at risk of overextension and injury. Part of why she keeps track of her movements in such a way. She has braces +splints she's designed herself to help support her joints, which in turn support her movements.
stillness: How does your OC act while still? Are they fidgety? Do they have any common gestures or tics? Does their clothing affect how they hold themselves while at rest?
For Jamie:
I don't think Jamie has been still a day in their life. Even when still they are constantly figeting and struggling with the matter. Most often they will fiddle with their hands, and rock back and forth on their feet. Most commonly tho - they're just not going to stay still, and will in fact move about
For Josephine:
Josephine can be so silent while still you wont notice her - until she dramatically waits by the lamp in the room and ask where exactly have you been tonight - (cmon cant you see her doing that)
Josie isnt overly fidgety, but if this is a particularly stressful reason she has to stay still, she may tend to bite the edge of her lip, or grip foricbly at her own hand. Otherwise, Josie is quite capable of holding very still, and staring direcltly into you. Good luck
Ask game from here
