I hate it when I have Ideas™ because then I have to figure out how to execute those Ideas™ and it becomes a whole big thing and I'm super drained but my Ideas™ are the only thing sparking any excitement in me right now.
So I guess I'm going to have to start experimenting with ReShades again because it's part of my Ideas™ (Is this getting old yet? Too damn bad, I'm not gonna stop doing it). It's just...you know...I have no idea what I'm doing.

Hi Coffee! This might be a weird question, but do you have any tips on speeding up the posemaking process? Also on staying motivated to make large amounts of poses? I know you make quite a few for your simblr (and also the Gianlerette when that was happening), and I wonder how you manage to do so many so fast without getting burnt out. Obviously practice helps, but... Asking because I have a lot of very specific scenes in my story that I'll have to (and want to) make poses for. Thanks!!
Haha inch resting question as I constantly feel burnt out. idk if I'm the best to ask b/c mainly the reason I do so many is because I'm too particular for my own good, I'll try to using in game animations or posepacks I already have- and they rarely fit my vision.
As far as speed I still do take a decent amount of time to create any poses, but I also have been making poses for 4 years, and had animated in a different 3D program for 2 years prior. Blender is a program I'm incredibly comfortable with at this point when it comes to posemaking. So yah the more you do it, the more you get comfy with blender and the faster you go eh.
All my wise tips under the cut lol
Best tips I can give is work kind of in a funnel when it comes to detail? For instance, when I make a new pose I place the rigs approx. where I want them to be just with root bind. Then I'll pose arms and legs. Then the heads. And I always do fingers last. Biggest parts of the rig down to the smallest ie funnel.

If it's poses you don't intend to share out, and you know that a part of the sim isn't going to be visible in shots, dont bother posing that part!!
Tumblr media
for instance, I made this and opted halfway through not to bother posing their hands b/c I knew that this will most likely only be used for 1 image, and I'm only going to show it from the back. TBH I could have bailed on posing their faces too lol.

The other thing that really got me to do a little more, is to set up more objects in blender than I probably need. To export specific items from game WAY more often. I used to just use a generic chair for any sitting poses, but now I export whatever objects I know are in the room the screenshots are going to be taken.
a couple of for instances lol:

And with tables and chairs, tables have a rig that shows you where chairs sit naturally, it lines up with the rig on the chair.

Plus I also export sims in any and all outfits for poses. I absolutely prefer using custom rigs. I was just going to export them once for their frame and face, but NAH. Every outfit change that I want poses with I make a new custom rig lol. Dunno how I made poses for the gianlerette before (spoiler, I made significantly less poses)
That's all I can think of rn, I don't think it's much of a help really. I just am too stubborn not to make poses. It's the same with building in ts4. If i was better at making CC clothes I think it'd be the same there too lol.
Goob luck on your posemaking endeavors!!
